"I've been studying the scanned data taken from the aliens while they were in the force field," Dr. Crusher said, "and it's very interesting. It seems that they had access to all the thoughts and information in your brain, but none of the impulse control that comes from being an adult human." She sat at a chair in front of the captain's desk in his ready-room.
"Yes," Picard agreed. "I... read Commander Riker's report. It would seem that may be the reason that my doppelganger roused everyone into song in Ten Forward."
"Your reputation may never recover," the doctor joked.
The captain shook his head. "I'm also sorry that my double, well, led you on, so to speak."
Dr. Crusher raised an eyebrow. "I accept your apology, Jean-Luc, though I must say that this is unusually forward for you."
Picard shrugged. "I do care about you, Doctor, as a colleague and as a dear friend. To leave this loose end unaddressed would be a disservice to you."
"I appreciate it," Dr. Crusher said with a warm smile.
