Scars
This is set in season 15, two and a half months later Lewis.
The characters are not mine are by Dick Wolf.
It was July 23, in the middle of summer, it was terribly hot and as if that were not enough the district air conditioners were out of order and it was well known that maintenance would take at least a week to repair them; Olivia had arrived at work an hour earlier as she used to do lately, the captain was already in his office working on all the hateful bureaucratic paperwork while both awaited the arrival of the rest of the team.
Olivia was looking back on her last session with Lindstrom, she had told her she had to start accepting her scars to achieve healing, they had decided that the first step would be to show the scars Lewis had given her to someone she trusted, and who better than his team? She trusted them blindly. The detective thought about it a couple of times before taking off the lightweight long-sleeved cardigan she was using to cover her scars in these hot days (she had to admit to herself that it was so much better, it was really hot in the district), under it she wore nothing but a modestly low-cut short-sleeved shirt; until a few months ago it was one of her favorites, but after what Lewis did to her she could no longer look in the mirror without being disgusted by her own body, so she started wearing only turtlenecks and sleeves long.
Fin and Munch arrived together followed, a few seconds later, by Nick and Amanda, as soon as they entered they immediately realized that Olivia was wearing a short-sleeved shirt after a long time, they made their way to their respective desks; Munch started making a joke about Olivia finally realizing it was summer but froze immediately when he noticed the numerous scars marring the brunette detective's skin, Fin turned to try to figure out what had stopped that bony ass of his partner from saying one of his usual annoying jokes, then he saw them, there, in plain sight, scars ... a multitude of scars on his 'little girl', seeing all this broke his heart; Amanda must have said something like, "oh, my God!" after seeing her scars too, Nick noticed them as well and muttered an "oh, Liv". The four detectives stood staring at Olivia for a long time before Cragen noticed the stillness of his detectives and began to worry when he saw that they were all staring at Olivia, had something happened to her? Had she had a flashback? A panic attack? Whatever had happened seemed something serious judging by the looks of the four detectives, he immediately got up from his desk and walked over to Olivia.
"what's happening? Is everything okay, Liv? " he asked frantically, trying, in vain, to maintain a professional tone anyway.
The realization of what was happening passed through his eyes as he realized what they were staring at, scars, so many scars, so many painful scars, indelible scars on the body of her favorite detective, whom she now regarded as a daughter, she knew very well which was the origin of those scars: Lewis, now more than ever he wanted to kill that bastard, giving him a slow and painful death, as he deserved.
"Olivia ... are you okay?" Nick asked as he got up from his desk to join his partner.
"Uh… yeah, sure. I'm sorry guys I didn't mean to upset you. Lindstrom said I had to start accepting the scars and that I should start showing them to someone I trust and… I trust you, plus it's really hot in here today, but I can cover them if you want. "Liv explained with a small voice.
"Olivia, don't feel you have to cover yourself, you did well to show us your scars, we ... we were just a little upset because this was the first time we saw them, but really Liv, these scars won't change the way we look at you. "The captain reassured her, gently stroking her shoulder.
"Cragen is right, you will always be my stubborn partner and the strongest woman I have ever known, plus you will always be beautiful with or without scars," Nick told her, taking her hand gently.
"Yes, you will always be my 'little girl' ... and in any case Amaro ... keep your hormones in check, I'll keep an eye on you!" Fin joked to lighten the atmosphere.
Olivia laughed through her tears, happy tears, of emotion, she had the most unusual and most wonderful family in the world.
"I propose a group hug" said Amanda, also moved, Olivia was her heroine, she had come on purpose to the 16th district to work with the notorious detective, the whole Lewis thing had done nothing but increase the esteem and respect that the blonde had towards Olivia.
They all hugged warmly and Munch's 'long awaited' joke soon came.
"Fin, Amaro, enjoy the moment, because it will be the first and last time that you will be hugged by two beautiful women at the same time ... unlike me"
The room burst into group laughter, they haven't heard such laughter in months in the district, they had all been very cautious around Olivia, they were afraid to say or do something that might upset her.
