Picard had received a subspace transmission from the Zalkonians a couple months after the Enterprise's encounter with "John Doe." He watched the video message in his ready-room.
Sunad appeared on the screen, looking distraught. "We have word that your... 'John Doe,' as you called him, was seen on a moon orbiting Orestes II. Several of our people have left Zalkon searching for him. We implore the Federation to either assist us in destroying him or hunting down those that seek him. He and his traitor allys will tear our global governments apart if they are not stopped." It was there that the video ended.
The captain almost snorted. It was the same, tired song-and-dance that the leader had tried to pull when they'd had John Doe on their ship.
Picard walked onto the bridge and approached his Klingon security officer. "Commander Worf, if you could send the Zalkonians a message that in no way the Enterprise or the Federation will be assisting them in their quest to terminate John Doe or any of their other people that undergo the transfiguration. And also send a message to Starfleet Command recommending that they send a science vessel to Orestes II as soon as possible to check on Doe and any followers he may have gathered."
Worf nodded. "With pleasure, sir."
