"Dr. Soong stated that it was a simple homing device," Data said, as Geordi examined the android in his quarters.
"Yeah, well, he might be able to call it that, but I can't even begin to make sense of this," the chief engineer said, exasperated. "Guess we'll just have to hope that no one else can activate it."
"If it is as complex as you say, one can assume that only Dr. Soong would be able to operate it."
Geordi was quiet for a moment. "Or Lore... I'm sure it wouldn't take him long to figure out."
"I sincerely hope he does not find a reason to," Data said, his tone suddenly sharp. "I do not wish to see Lore ever again."
"You and me both." Geordi continued to check Data over. "Must have been nice to finally meet Dr. Soong, though?"
"He was an interesting man," Data admitted. "My only regret is that I did not have the time to tell him about Lal."
Geordi paused in his work in and smiled. "I'm sure he would have been proud of you, Data."
Data smiled a little, too. "Thank you."
