"I think you're being too hard on yourself," Guinan said to Captain Picard in Ten Forward. "Jono is back with his family. And maybe he has gained a bit more empathy towards humans as well."

"Yes, well, if we had just listened to him before he attempted to stab me, everyone would have been spared a lot of unnecessary grief," Picard replied, frustrated.

"Well, you did have pressure from Starfleet to return him to his grandparents," Guinan pointed out.

"That's true," the captain admitted.

"Besides, if it wasn't for the Enterprise, they'd probably be dead on that training ship long before the Talarians found them. You got it right eventually, and you'll get it right next time."

"You are as reassuring as ever, Guinan," Picard said, his tone slightly more optimistic than it had been before.
