She was just getting out of the shower at the police gym when she got a phone call. Rollins are you still at the airport? No Fin I'm downstairs what's up? We've got a case was the reply. Right OK, you'll need to give me 20minutes as I've literally just stepped out of the shower. OK I'll let Liv know you're here. OK no worries Fin, I'll be as quick as I can. She thanked her lucky stars that she'd just had her shower, it was badly needed after her sessions with Nick last night and this morning. She felt a tinge of sadness but smiled at the same time. She missed him already. After she hung up, she saw a message from Nick, opening it she saw a picture of him sitting on a plane with a sad face, his bottom lip out. She replied back, sorry I missed your text hun, just out of the shower. She sat her phone down and just as she went to get herself dried a reply came back…. Oh really, that image has just cheered me up slightly. She smiled and felt cheeky, so took a quick pic of one of her boobs, and replied back, saying keep this one safe. For your eyes only, then, that'll keep you going for a while, I've a case so need to get dressed.
Nick was sitting on the plane waiting for take off when he got the picture. His eyes near popped out, he couldn't believe what he saw. A big grin spread across his face and he felt a feeling down below. He replied, oh what are you trying to do to me Rollins, that'll definitely keep me going for a while. Missing you already xxx Talk when I land xxx He reluctantly put his phone on airplane mode and put it in his pocket. They were getting ready to take off. Just a few hours until he could hear her voice again.
Just as she had finished putting her shoes on Benson walked into the changing room. Hey Rollins, you OK? Yeah great thanks Lieutenant. I didn't have my jog this morning cause I brought Amaro to the airport so headed straight here for a quick workout. I've been as quick as I can, I'd literally just stepped out of the shower when Fin rang. Hey, no it's OK I'm not rushing you Rollins, I'm going to the hospital with you for this one so told Fin I'd just meet you here instead of me going upstairs. Oh, right, sorry, Olivia, I thought I was late, no she smiled, in fact technically we haven't clocked on yet as it's only quarter to, so you've really another 15 to get ready. She just finished zipping her boots and she said, right I'm done. I'll take my bag back out to the car. OK, but 1st can we stop for a coffee Amanda, I'm desperate for one, Noah was being a monster this morning. Amanda laughed and said sure, sounds good, I'll need a few of those today I think.
They both headed out to the garage and got into the car. As they were waiting for their coffee to be brought to the car, Olivia said, So Nick got off OK this morning then? Amanda near choked on air at her wording, she got a flashback of their lovemaking this morning. She cleared her throat and said, yeah, as far as I know. We were a bit early for check-in so we had a coffee and I waited with him until he checked in then left when all was confirmed. Benson said Oh I thought you would have just dropped him at the drop off zone. Amanda looked at her and said, yeah I used to do that, but I was halfway home from dropping my friend at the airport last time she visited and she phoned me back to say her flight had been cancelled and she couldn't get another flight till the next day. It's happened to me before too, so now if I drop someone off, I hang around until they've checked in before I leave. Good thinking Rollins, I'll have to remember that one. Amanda laughed and said, yeah, it'll save you a double trip, trust me. The girl came back to the kiosk with their coffees and handed them through the window. Right lets go. Benson said, I hope this isn't a long one, it's Christmas Eve tomorrow, I want to spend as much of it at home as I can. Well here's hoping said Amanda, I'll promise not to call you tomorrow unless I really have to. Thanks Amanda, hey, Barba was asking me if you'd booked some time off yet after your chat with them yesterday. You still thinking about it? Ermm yeah, I was thinking about it last night actually when I got home from yours. I'll have a look at the holiday timetable for next week and see what's available. Good, she replied, you deserve some time off after looking after us this weekend. Ah, it's nothing, I'll see if anyone's off next week. Olivia said, well Nick's off all next week, but as far as I know Fin has nothing booked for next week. But we've got the new guy starting on Sunday too, so that's an extra pair of hands on board. Oh yeah, I forgot about him said Amanda, what's his name again? Carissi, Benson replied. I still think it's odd he wanted to start the day after Christmas, and on a Sunday said Amanda. Yeah so did I to be honest with you, but he said he's single, no kids and he knows people with families want to be at home with them during the holidays…. A bit like you, she turned and smiled at her. I'll give you a heads up though Rollins, he's a bit energetic and talkative. Oh great she replied, maybe I'll leave him to Fin then for a few days. Olivia laughed and said, good plan.
Nick was woken up on the plane by an announcement saying food would be arriving soon. He'd touched lucky on this flight, no-one sitting beside him, and he was glad of that as he'd been dreaming of Amanda and he now had a situation in his lower regions going on that was a bit difficult to hide at present. He smiled and said to himself, not even near me and she's still turning me on. He took his phone from his pocket and connected to the wi-fi onboard. He saw Amanda's reply and smiled. He looked at her picture again and smiled even more. He got up and went to the bathroom to wash his hands. When looking in the mirror he saw his situation down there wasn't going away. He smiled and took a picture of his reflection and situation. Sent it to Amanda and said, even sky high and you do this to me. He then zipped down his jeans to re-arrange himself before heading back to his seat. While fixing himself she replied saying, Is that all you've got Amaro? With an emoji sticking it's tongue out. He took another picture this time down his boxers and sent it. As he was zipping himself back up another reply. I wish I could help baby, just make sure no-one else helps you out there or there'll be trouble. He smiled and replied, only for you to handle mi cariño.
He went back out and sat down, not long after his phone got a reply…. Make sure it stays that way handsome. 4 sleeps, that's all we have to wait. His dinner arrived and he replied, oh I've been counting since last week mi cariño. She text back with a heart and xoxo and he got the message she was busy with work.
Back at the station after a tough morning Amanda smiled at his messages. She had that funny feeling in her stomach again…. A feeling she's only felt with him, no-one else. Fin appeared and said, what's got you smiling Rollins, to which she replied, oh nothing, just a text from a friend. Uh-huh, I hope my friends smile like that when I get text them. Barba appeared and said, well it depends what your text says Fin doesn't it? Hey Barba, they both said at the same time, and Amanda put her phone back into her drawer. Well where are we on these witnesses Fin? Amanda replied all near finished with, we just gotta go and get 2 more statements and then Barba's up to do his bit. Barba said well I'll go see Benson and what she has so far, and look at where we go from here. Ok see you later, let's go Rollins. You drive and I'll buy coffee while we are on our way. You look like you need it. Rollins looked at him and Barba laughed, late night or early morning Rollins. Both she replied, and yawned. Couldn't sleep last night then early start dropping Amaro off at the airport this morning. He get away Ok he asked? Well I didn't get a phone call to pick him up again so I'm assuming so, she smiled and said, and if he did phone, I think I would have killed him, getting me up early for nothing. Barba laughed and said see you later. Oh, hold on Fin, aw Rollins what now, come on, no wait I wanna check this Holiday rota and see what's available. Oh, so you're actually thinking of doing it then both he and Barba asked. Well yeah, I was thinking last night about what you were saying so think I will. Might hit the sales or stay in my pj's all day for change. She looked and Monday through to Friday were free. Fin was beside her and said you gonna take the week, and she said, no I'll only take a few days, what do you think Tuesday to Thursday? What about Monday too he said, nah I'll come in Monday, that new guy is starting on Sunday so I'll not leave you with him all week.. he said well why not Tuesday till Friday then? Yeah, I think I will. Good for you they both said, about time you took time for yourself. She smiled and said, well I could still change my mind again, I'll think about it. Benson walked out and said, well whatever you're thinking about put your name down for all days then change your mind later. Ok, OK, jeez guys, you all really want rid of me that much huh? Cuidando a nuestra familia querida Barba said… Ok, thanks, maybe I'll start a Spanish course on my time off, so I know what you say to me sometimes, and she smiled. Right come on Fin, I'm done.
Barba and Benson went to her office, she seems happy, I'm glad she's taking time off next week, said Benson, me too said Barba. You off tomorrow and Saturday? Yes, she said, you still coming round tomorrow afternoon. I am indeed, Good, she smiled at him and said, Amanda's coming to mine on Saturday so she's not on her own here. Good said Barba.
Witness statements done, Barba had arranged court arraignment for the next morning, Fin said he would go with Rollins so Benson could stay at home. Thanks guys she said, Barba said then that's me finished until Monday guys. Fin said yeah, that'll be me until Sunday afternoon, I've booked Sunday morning off, cause, well just incase I'm not functioning yet. They laughed and Benson said good call. She said to Amanda and I'll be in bright and early on Sunday with you to meet our new boy. But me and Noah will see you on Saturday morning. 11am Ok? Yes, thanks Liv, and remember to text me if you need me to bring anything. They all headed to the elevator and went to their cars, have a great Christmas guys Amanda said, and they all said Thank you again to her.
She got into her car and headed to Nick's house. When she got there, she switched his tree lights on and set the timer for later that night to switch off again. She made herself a cup of tea, and added her gym gear to the load and put his washing machine on. She sat down on his couch with her tea and watched some TV. She just stared at the tree and the bauble they bought last week. She smiled and took a sip of her tea. Just then her phone rang, and when she looked it was Nick video calling. She answered and said, hey you, smiling. He grinned back and said Hey bonita. What you up to? She turned her phone and said this and swung it around the room then back to her face. He smiled and said, you miss me that much huh. She said of course, but I also had to put that wash on, so I'll hang it up when it's done and head back to my house. I've set your lights on the timer. Thank you he said. They chatted about the flight, his situation and she said she was gutted she couldn't do anything about it. Oh, me too believe me he said in that hoarse sexy voice. He looked tired, and she said it to him, yeah, it's been a long day, and she said yeah tell me about it. Why don't you just stay at mine tonight, you look exhausted yourself. She sighed and said yeah, I am, it's been a long night and day, and she giggled. He laughed and said, well why not, stay there and get a good night's sleep. You've had a busy week, and he raised his eyebrows and gave her that sexy smile. You sure you don't mind? he looked at her and said, no why would I mind, knowing I've a sexy woman lying in my bed at home, I'm more than sure. He smiled and said, oh by the way, I opened the present. She smiled and said yeah, you like it? Definitely. At least I can smell you when I go to bed tonight too. She smiled and said, good. They chatted for another while then he said, right Bonita, off to bed with you, and have a good sleep. She yawned and said Ok baby, you too. He said I will, I'll call you tomorrow. She said, no don't worry about me, you spend all your time with Zara and have a great day, I'll find time for you too mi bonita. She smiled and again he said, Ok, off you go, dulces sueños mi amor. You too baby, she said, and they air kissed. Buenas noches mi cariño. Night night baby she replied.
The wash had finished, so she hung it up to dry and then headed to his bedroom. She still had no pyjamas here, so she made a mental note to bring some by. In the meantime, she went to his drawers and took out a pair of his boxer shorts and his t-shirt she wore this morning when she got up. She had wrapped the other one she wore here up in Christmas paper and put it into his bag while he was in the shower. She smiled at the thought again. She grabbed his pillow close to her to smell his scent. Soon she was sleeping.
Nick went out to have some food. He was 3 hours behind New York. He ate his meal, and sat with a beer in the bar of the hotel. He missed her, more than he'd ever missed any other girl before. He said to himself, 4 sleeps Amaro, that's all. Then you'll be back with her. He finished his beer and went up to his room. He climbed into bed and sighed, he reached over for the t-shirt Amanda had wrapped up for him and smelt it. It smelt like her within minutes he too was asleep.
