EPILOGUE

"So, are we having that conversation?"

Chris looked up from the documents he was looking at and frowned at Leon. It'd been three days since they had gone to the island. They were currently staying on the BSAA Irish base, and Leon had sneaked into Chris's provisional office.

"How's that arm?"

"I guess I won't be on active duty for a while," Leon replied. "But that's out of topic."

Chris sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose before putting down the papers.

"I never expected to have this conversation with you, Leon."

"Is it so unbelievably impossible?" Leon snorted. "I thought everyone believed that it would eventually happen. My feelings for Claire are sincere."

"I know," Chris sighed. "Unfortunately, I do."

"So?"

"So? I think I gave you my answer before, didn't I? Break her heart, and I'll make sure to break something else of yours."

"I already broke an arm. I won't have anything else broken," Leon smirked.

"That's irrelevant," Chris sighed. He stretched his hand at Leon. "I guess we..."

"Are brothers now?" Leon answered, shaking the oldest Redfield's hand.

"Uhg, don't wear it out. It's not like I like it," Chris said, grimacing. "Now get the hell out of here. I've got lots of paperwork to do."

"I don't envy you," Leon replied, standing up. "Though I will have my own pile when I get back."

"Yeah, but before that, shouldn't you properly propose to my sister?"

"Naturally," Leon replied. "I wouldn't skip that."

"I think you already did," Chris answered, rolling his eyes.

Leon smirked. He nodded at Chris and walked out of Chris's office right on time to crash face to face with Claire. His luck couldn't be better. He was about to go in search of her, and there she was, flying straight into his arms.

"There you are," Claire scolded him. "You are as bad as Chris. Your arm is broken. You should be resting and not running around the building like you own the place."

Leon smiled. The old mother-hen Claire was back.

"I had important matters I needed to discuss with Chris," Leon replied, raising his good hand in a peace gesture.

"What's so important that it can't wait until the medic releases you?" Claire replied, crossing her arms. "What are you smiling about?"

Leon shrugged.

"I had to discuss my divorce papers."

Claire frowned.

"With Chris? Shouldn't you be talking about that with Ingrid?"

"Already did," Leon answered. "I am officially divorced from Clara Driscoll."

Claire rolled her eyes and sighed.

"Congratulations, you're a bachelor again. Now, let's go..." Claire said, pushing him. "the medic said he needed an ultrasound to make sure the ligaments weren't damaged..."

"I am only a bachelor unless..."

"Unless?"

"Unless Claire Redfield signs the papers."

Claire looked at him in disbelief, and Leon smirked. He grabbed her hand and kissed it.

"Are you going to sign them?"

"I thought you got divorced," Claire said in shock.

"I did. I can't marry twice, can I? We had to nullify one so that I could marry you as you."

"That's what you were talking about with Chris? What?"

"He wouldn't beat a hurt person, would he?"

"So that's why you sneaked out of the hospital?"

"You haven't answered..."

"Do I need to answer? You already know my answer."

Leon smirked. Yes, he did, and he was happy about it.
