"You wanted to see me, Captain?" Riker asked, standing in the doorway of the ready room.
"Yes, I did," Picard said, holding a PADD as he sat behind his desk. "I was just reading your report on what occurred on Alpha Onias III. You wrote that there was a 'discrepancy' in the program that first alerted you to the fact that you were in a simulation."
"And you wanted to know what that was?"
Picard nodded. "For curiosity's sake, that's all, Will."
"If you say so," Riker said. He paused before adding, "Do you remember when we had the Binars on board and they created a program to keep us in the holodeck while they hijacked the ship?"
"Yes, you created a beautiful woman in a speakeasy, if memory serves."
"Her name was Minuet," Riker replied. "Well, in this future fabrication I had married her. That's how.. I knew it wasn't real."
Picard smiled a little. "Is that all?" he asked, almost incredulous. "Everyone's allowed a little fantasy as long as you don't let it affect your work." Though neither of them said it aloud, they were both thinking of Barclay.
The commander shrugged. "Well, would you have put that in your report, Captain?"
The captain shook his head. "Touche, Number One."
