"Commander Worf's Training Program 7 in progress," the computer stated as Wesley stood by the holodeck doors.

"Please let them know that I'm here and ask for permission to join them."

There was a moment's pause before the doors to the holodeck opened. "Entry granted."

Wesley walked down a dark, metallic corridor and followed the sounds of a battle down the hallway. In an open storage area, Data and Worf were fighting humanoid aliens with polearm weapons.

"Pause simulation," Worf said upon seeing Wesley.

"Hey guys," the teenager said with a smile. "I didn't know you were interested in combat, Data."

The android raised his eyebrows. "Generally I am not," he said. "Commander Worf asked me to join him."

"His form is unmatched," Worf admitted.

"Anyway," Wesley said, "The ship I'll be taking to get to Starfleet will be here in a couple hours, so I wanted to say goodbye."

"Your reputation will precede you," Worf warned. "It is not every day that one saves the captain of their ship."

Wesley nodded.

"You may also find enemies," Worf added. "Not everyone will be on your side like on the Enterprise. Do not be afraid to stand up for yourself and your values."

"Thanks for the advice," Wesley said, not ungratefully.

Data looked thoughtful. "We will miss you, Wesley. But I am certain you will do well in Starfleet."

"Thanks for all your help on my projects and experiments, Data," Wesley said, and hugged the android. Data, slightly unused to physical contact, leaned in as best as he could.

Wesley pulled out of the hug and looked to Worf, who looked mortified at the thought of hugging him. He held out his hand to the Klingon instead, who breathed a sigh of relief. "Goodbye."

As the holodeck door closed behind him, Worf turned to Data and said, "I worry about that boy."

Data shook his head. "I believe he will be quite fine. In fact, some new challenges may be good for him."

Worf sighed before saying, "Computer, resume program."
