Amanda called by the station but there was no-one around. No messages, so she headed back out and arrived at Liv's just after 11. Olivia opened the door and she said Oh thank God you're here, Amanda smiled OK, should I be worried? and walked in, Olivia said Merry Christmas and gave her a hug. Merry Christmas Liv, where's the little guy? Your godson is in there causing havoc. She laughed and they both walked in. Hey Noah look who's here! He looked at his mum then to Amanda and a big smile appeared across his face, he walked over to Amanda and put his arms out to be lifted. Hey little guy, I see Santa didn't get lost. Olivia laughed and said oh he didn't, next year, he's being warned to bring less, or get mummy a house. And no noisy toys, no toys to bang or hammer. Rollins what the hell was I thinking buying those? Next year you have to vet what I buy, I'm serious. Amanda laughed and carried Noah over to the couch. She sat down and said, hey, look what I got you. He peered into the bag and giggled. She helped him pull out the stuffed toy and book to match. Liv took photos of the 2 of them. He cuddled it and started talking baby talk to it. Liv looked at it, it was a Santa plush the year embroidered onto one foot, and his name on the other. OMG Amanda that is beautiful. And I love the year, that is a very special bear. Amanda said, well I thought so too. And thought the year was a nice way for you to remember you're 1st Christmas as mum and son. A proper family. She smiled and Olivia teared up. Thank you Amanda, it's perfect. Amanda got up and gave her a hug, hey now don't you start me crying too, I done enough of that for both of us this week thanks to the boys. Olivia laughed and said, well as I keep reminding myself too, we're all family, and I wouldn't choose anyone else. I think me and you are similar in that way, we're too used to being on our own and sorting ourselves out. Yeah Amanda said, I think we are. Amanda then said, so what has you stressed out this morning? And Olivia replied oh, just noise, and Noah has been up since 6. I'm sure the neighbours are loving me. She laughed and said, well it's Christmas, they'll have to suck it up. Yeah they will, Then she said, he has to get tired soon, he hasn't has his morning nap. I'll go put the kettle on. Amanda walked back over to Noah, he was still playing with his teddy and some dinosaurs that Santa had brought him. When she sat down on the couch, he put the dinosaurs down and walked over to her, lifted the book and tried to climb up on her. Hey, you want a story little guy? She picked him up, and he snuggled into her arms. She started reading the book to him. Olivia returned to the living room and her heart melted at the sight before her, it was just like the one Barba had pointed out to her the other night. She smiled, Noah was sitting with his teddy, and rubbing his forehead that he usually does when he's sleepy. Amanda reading the book quietly to him. She stood and took a few photos of the picture before her, and then a video. The kettle boiled so she returned to the kitchen to make tea. When she came back out Noah was sleeping soundly in Amanda's arms and she was humming to him. When she saw Olivia she smiled and said, do you want him in his crib? She replied yes please, you're a star. Amanda carried him gently into his room and laid him in his crib. She stood staring at him for a while and stroked his hair. Then she returned to the living room. Ah Rollins you're a life saver, peace at last, Olivia laughed. She'd tidied up a bit and they both sat down. Olivia said so no calls so far? no, keep those fingers crossed Amanda replied and laughed. They talked about various things and then Amanda caught a glimpse of something in the opposite corner. She stared at them and panicked. Was it Olivia who helped Nick with the flowers? She broke out into a sweat. Olivia saw her looking and blushed, she cleared her throat and said, yeah, they were a surprise, they arrived last night smiling and blushing again. Amanda looked at her, mouth open and said, oh no they're beautiful. She smiled, I didn't know you were seeing someone, Olivia blushed again and said, well, the thing is, she got all flustered and said, you can't tell anyone, we're just seeing how things go for now. It was Amanda's turn to blush, and shifted in her seat, OK… well if we're going down that road, Olivia looked at her and her mouth was opened, Amanda said OK I'll not tell a soul, I promise. You go 1st. Olivia blushed again and said, well Barba…. Amanda's jaw near hit the floor, Olivia laughed and said, close it up Rollins, you'll be eating flies instead of Christmas dinner. Amanda laughed and said sorry Liv, I had no idea, Olivia said, well that's a good thing I suppose, and she replied, actually no, more I think of it, I should have picked up on something. How long Liv? She replied, about 2 months, but please Amanda don't say a word. Oh, believe me you can trust me Liv, I won't open my mouth. Olivia looked at her quizzically and Amanda replied, well you can't say a word about my secret. Olivia said you too? And Amanda, put her cup down, cleared her throat and said, well the thing is, it's just, that I got the same flowers and balloon this morning myself, but I'm still trying to figure out how. I thought you were in on it when I saw yours, but clearly not. Olivia looked and said, ok you've lost me Rollins. Amanda laughed and looking down at her sweaty hands said, well the flowers I got were from Nick. She screwed her nose and eyes up trying not to grin and looked up at Olivia. Olivia's mouth was wide open. OK Liv, close the mouth you'll have no room for dinner she laughed. Olivia laughed and said oh sorry, she said, OMG Amanda, she smiled and got up and went over to her and gave her a big hug. About bloody time Rollins, I've been saying to Rafael for a few weeks now I wish you two would sort yourselves out, Amanda choked on her tea and said what! Olivia just said, hey, I've actually noticed from you both started SVU there was chemistry between you, and when Nick divorced Maria, well, I'd hoped something would happen. How long? Amanda said, just a week smiling and looked again, Only a week! Christ you two fairly know how to drag things on don't you? Amanda laughed and said, well it kind of just happened after the big case last week, and we've been inseparable ever since. Liv laughed, and said, that's why Nick has been in a good mood all week. Amanda laughed and said, maybe, I can't say that's for sure, Olivia replied, Oh I can say for sure. I'll tell you what though, you've both done bloody well keeping it from us, I thought I would have known as soon as something happened. Amanda smiled and said, well the same could be said about you and Barba. It was Liv's turn to blush again. Yeah well, what can I say, smiling. Ah I'm sure you're missing him now he's away. Amanda's heart felt that pang again and she said, yeah, missing him like crazy to be honest with you Liv, then Liv said… and that's why you went into the airport with him, not just dropping him off. Amanda replied, well yeah that too, but I wasn't lying about the check in bit and having to go back for my friend. I do do that, I learnt that lesson long before Nick. Olivia then said, but why are you confused about the flowers and why did you think I was in on them then? Amanda replied well I was at Nick's yesterday setting the timer for his Christmas lights and they weren't there. He phoned this morning and asked me to swing by his house to check his fridge, and there they were. And now I'm just clicking on that he hadn't left anything in the fridge at all she laughed. Liv laughed then thought, ahhhh that explains it… Amanda looked and said, what explains what? Liv cleared her throat again and said, it seems us two aren't the only ones keeping secrets, smiling. She said, Rafael. Amanda looked and said huh? And Olivia said, he was here last night, after Santa came, he nipped downstairs and came back with the flowers. He got a text and said he would call by later tonight, he had to do a message. Amanda said what time was that? And she said, oh after 10 near 11? Amanda laughed and said oh yeah, those two have been talking. Liv looked and said why, to which she replied, Nick called me last night and we finished the call just after 10.30. He's been checking to see if I was at home or his house. Liv looked confused again and she said, oh I stayed the night there 2 nights ago, Liv said but Nick was away, and she replied, yeah, I'd been up early dropping Nick to the airport then we were straight into that case, Nick had threw a wash into the machine but didn't turn it on so I went to his after work and done that, he phoned while I was there and said I looked shattered, so told me to go to bed. She laughed. So, he's been checking to see if I was at his house last night again. So, it seems us two were last in on the secret then? Olivia laughed and said looks like it. She then said, at least we can now complain about them without worrying about giving anything away. And at least we know it won't affect our work too. Yeah, said Amanda. She smiled. Liv said I wonder when they told each other? God only knows… she thought then gasped, here at your place the other night. Huh? What are you on about Amanda? Remember they were whispering away in Spanish, we thought they were talking to Noah. Aw yeah that's right Olivia said, so even Noah was in on the secret before us, they both laughed. Amanda thought, and that's why Barba was trying to convince me to take more than a day off next week, remember the 2 of them had me crying, but not in a bad way. Olivia laughed, oh we're going to have to watch them two Rollins. I'm going to have to learn a hell of a lot more Spanish with those 2 around Liv, and they both laughed. Yeah I'm going to have to brush up on mine too, If they're bringing Noah into their little secrets. Amanda laughed again.
