A/N: Thank you all for your well wishes on my finals and the baby. Finals went well and baby and I are doing great!

I saw a few comments about the drama. There will be no cheating, no plane crashes, none of that type of stuff. Just a few hiccups that come with relationships.

Chapter 21

Thursday

Callie's POV

Callie had been nervous since Arizona texted her about doing lunch at her place. She wasn't necessarily nervous for Arizona to spend time with her and Sofia, but it kind of felt like a big step. Callie knew that Sofia looked at Arizona as a friend so there was no pressure. But it still felt important. Callie was laying in bed trying to decide what to cook for lunch and how to approach a certain topic with her blonde. She wanted to ask Arizona to be her girlfriend, but she didn't want to scare her away. It has been less than 2 weeks since they had met but Callie knew that Arizona was special.

When Callie was dating Sofia's dad, Eric, she thought she loved him, and he was the one. But clearly that was not the case. Callie already felt more drawn and connected to Arizona in their short time together than she had in her previous relationships. That, paired with the fact she had Sofia, made the decision for Callie easy. She was going to ask Arizona to be her girlfriend today. Just as Callie had come to that conclusion her bedroom door opened. Glancing at the clock, Callie saw it was only 6am. She saw Sofia slowly creeping toward her bed.

"Mija, what are you doing? It is 6am." She whispered.

"Mami I am scared. The thunder outside is so loud." Sofia whimpered.

Callie just looked at her daughter. She was growing up so fast. She was 6 years old but things like thunderstorms still scared her. Callie just smiled and pulled back the covers to let Sofia come in and get comfortable. As they laid down next to each other Sofia rolled to look at her mother.

"Mami. Can we spend the day together? I miss you." Sofia whispered.

Callie's heart melted. "Of course, Sof. Actually, I had a surprise for you today. Arizona was going to join us for lunch and hang out for a little while. If you want it to be just us, I can tell her another time." Sofia's face lit up instantly.

"No! I want Arizona to come over. I really like her." Sofia got out just before a yawn. Callie just laughed at her daughter. Sofia was like Callie in almost every way. The biggest similarity was her love of sleep. Callie leaned over and kissed Sofia's forehead.

"Let's get some more sleep baby. We can talk more when we wake up." Callie wrapped her arms around Sofia and they both dozed off to sleep.

Arizona's POV

Today was going to be a big day for Arizona. She had her ESPN interview at 6pm today. It was going to air at 8pm that night and then a few more times the next day. All in anticipation of Saturday's round. Arizona was also going to enjoy lunch with two beautiful girls today. She wasn't nervous to be around Sofia, but she was kind of excited to spend time with Callie and see her interact with Sofia. Arizona loved kids. She never really wanted any of her own, but none the less she loved hanging out and playing with them.

Arizona was startled awake around 7am by a huge crack of thunder followed by lightning so bright it lit up her room. The rain was coming down and she knew that meant the golf course would be completely different on Saturday. Something she would have to discuss with Tim. Thankfully the weather cleared up about an hour later and Arizona fell back to sleep.

It was now 10am and Arizona was lounging on the couch. She still had 2 hours until she was supposed to be at Callie's. Texting Teddy and Tim, she figured she could kill an hour hanging out with them. Her parents were enjoying the spa and she was just watching the clock. Before she could react, she heard the door beep signaling someone was coming in.

"Jeeze. Were you two just waiting for my text or what? I texted you 2 minutes ago." Arizona joked.

" ." Teddy deadpanned. "I was actually heading in this direction to talk about your interview and Tim tagged along after your text." Tim headed straight to the kitchen area to look for something to eat.

"Awesome. Let's talk about this interview. What do we expect?" Arizona had her business hat on.

"It is going to be straight forward. I think it is going to be 30 minutes. They didn't really say anything else. I think you need to be prepared for some questions about your life. People seem to be really liking the fact your caddy is your brother. Also, you know they are going to bring up the drowning thing. So just think about how you want to respond to that." Teddy always made sure to prepare Arizona in every way possible.

"Easy enough. Who is the interviewer?"

"Hannah Storm." Teddy smiled. Hannah Storm was Arizona's favorite and when she found out that was the interviewer, she couldn't wait to pass the message along.

"SERIOUSLY Teds! I love her."

"I know. I am really excited for you. I am going to meet you in the lobby at about 5 then we can head over to the media area they have set up. We don't even have to go offsite which is nice. You know about wearing your sponsors stuff and all that jazz so just meet me at 5."

"Don't forget to tell them I am the reason for your success." Tim chimes in as he stuff a piece of apple pie in his mouth.

"Charming Timmy. Really charming. I don't know how you deal with him Teds." Arizona jokes.

The two of them just look at each other. It is clear as day these two are in love and Arizona has a feeling that wedding bells are in the near future.

Arizona looks over at the clock to see it is 11:15. She lets Tim and Teddy know she is heading out and makes her way towards the hotel café/bakery. She grabs brownies for desert and an extra for Sofia. As she is headed to the front doors to head out, she is stopped by the red headed front desk worker.

"Hi Ms. Robbins. Congrats on making the cut! Care to join me for lunch to celebrate?" She makes sure to touch Arizona's arm and her tone was clearly flirty.

"I am actually headed out. Sorry. I never caught your name before, which I apologize was very rude of me."

"Oh, my name is Julie. But you can call me whatever you want." She winks.

"Alrighty Julie. I am going to head out. Good to see you." Arizona rushes away. Wow she just does not give up.

As Arizona pulls up to Callie's house, she takes a deep breath. Let's do this Robbins.

Callie's POV

Callie had been rushing around all day trying to get things perfect for Arizona. Arizona had mentioned on their date how her absolute favorite food is grilled cheese. Would Callie normally make grilled cheese as a lunch date meal? No way. But her blonde loved it so she did it. She had baked the bread fresh that morning and had made some baked potato soup as well. Another thing Arizona mentioned was a comfort food for her. Just as Callie was putting the finishing touches on lunch, she heard a knock at the door. Before she could even turn around, she heard the sound of Sofia's feet sprinting towards the door.

"Sofia Lucia, you know darn well you don't open that door!" Callie yelled. Sofia's hand froze over the door handle and she just stared at Callie. As Callie made her way over to the door, she looked out the peep hole and saw it was Arizona. Knowing it was not a random stranger she told Sofia to go ahead. She took a step back and Sofia opened the door.

"ARIZONA!" Sofia yelled. Before she could blink Sofia was wrapping Arizona into a huge hug. Callie just laughed as she saw Arizona stumble back a bit. Not expecting that welcome.

"Hey Sofia. How are you?" Arizona asked the girl.

"Good. Come in! Mami made lunch and I put out all my favorite toys for us to play with. Do you paint? I just got a new craft set from my Uncle Mark. We could paint if you want." Sofia was rambling and Callie knew she had to jump in if she had a shot at greeting her blonde.

"Sof. Take a breath. Arizona will be here for a bit. How about you let Arizona put her things down and meet us in the living room?" She watched as Sofia reigned in her excitement and headed towards the living room.

Arizona just turned and looked at Callie. Giving her the smile that Callie loved so much. Dimples on full display and her eyes glowing. Callie walked closer and leaned in, pecking Arizona's lips.

"Hey." She whispered.

"Hey yourself" Arizona responded. Giving Callie another kiss.

"I brought some brownies. Oh, and these are for you." Arizona held up a bouquet of daisies. Callie had mentioned them being her favorite flower. They were simple yet beautiful. She smiled at the fact Arizona remembered.

"Thank you. I love them. Here, let me take this bag and we can go see Sof in the living room before her head explodes. Lunch will be read in about 10 minutes." Callie put the flowers in water and grabbed Arizona's hand leading her into the living room.

Arizona's POV

Lunch was going amazing. Arizona had played 3 games of Sorry with Sofia and Callie, each of them winning a game. They enjoyed the delicious grilled cheese and baked potato soup Callie had made. When Arizona commented on the fact she remembered Arizona's comment about the foods Callie had just blushed and winked at her.

Sofia was an amazing little girl. Arizona couldn't believe that she was just 6 years old. She was so smart and polite. Arizona had complimented Callie multiple times on Sofia's behavior, and you could tell that it meant a lot to the Latina. She couldn't imagine raising a child alone, and Callie was doing a fabulous job. After they finished eating Callie sent Sofia into the kitchen to do her "chores". According to Callie Sofia's only chore was loading the dish washer and keeping her room clean.

Arizona and Callie relocated to the living room and sat closely on the couch.

"Sofia is the world's slowest mover, so we have about 10 minutes until she is back." Callie joked.

"Well 10 minutes alone with you sounds fantastic." Arizona leaned in and kissed Callie. Starting slow and innocent she felt Callie's body shift and deepen the kiss. Their tongues danced in a way that was becoming familiar to both of them. As they pulled back both of them were smiling.

"Thank you for having me over. Sofia is awesome and spending time with you is just what I needed today." Arizona grabbed Callie's hand as she prepared herself to ask Callie the question that had been on her mind.

"Thank you for coming over. Sofia just adores you. Her mom is a pretty big fan as well." Callie winks.

"Calliope, I wanted to ask you what exactly we are doing here. I know I am coming to Miami after the season is over and that we have been spending a lot of time together. I just want to know, are we exclusive, are we girlfriends?" Arizona rambled.

Just as Callie was about to answer Sofia came barreling into the room. "Mami, I am done with the dishes. Can I go swimming?"

Callie looked at Arizona and just smiled. She responded to Sofia without breaking eye contact with Arizona. "Yeah Mija, go put your bathing suit on and we will meet you in the back yard, okay?" As quickly as Sofia was there, she was gone.

Arizona sat there waiting for Callie's response. Callie grabbed Arizona's other hand and lifted her from the couch. She lead her to the back door and onto the back deck. Closing the door behind them. Arizona was about to speak when Callie cut her off. Arizona felt Callie's lips crash into hers. The kiss held so much passion and love that Arizona couldn't even pull away when her lungs were burning. Finally, Callie broke the kiss, looked into Arizona's eyes, and smiled.

"I would love to be your girlfriend, Arizona."

Callie's POV

Callie couldn't wipe the smile off of her face. Arizona was obviously thinking the same as she was and beat her to asking the question. When she responded to Arizona, she was met with her favorite dimple smile.

"Yeah?" Arizona questioned.

"Arizona. Yes. I don't want to date anyone else, and I honestly would be a bit upset if you told me you wanted to. I would like to be exclusive and would love to be able to call you my girlfriend."

"Well, then there is that. You, Calliope Torres, are my girlfriend." Arizona was beaming at her.

Callie leaned in and kissed Arizona passionately. "And you Arizona Robbins, are my girlfriend." Callie's lips hovered right above Arizona's.

They heard Sofia struggling with the door wall and Arizona left Callie to go help her.

"Hey Sof, little heavy huh" Arizona joked.

"Mami we need a lighter door. That is a fire hazard." Sofia looked directly at her, no joking in her voice. At that point Arizona lost it.

"Sofia you can open the door. You just forget which direction to pull." Callie responds. At that Sofia just huffs and walks towards the pool. Callie couldn't handle that girl sometimes. She was a carbon copy of Callie in all things, including her attitude. Carlos always told Callie that it was karma. But Callie couldn't remember ever being so sassy.

As they lounged down by Sofia's pool the three of them just laughed and had a good time. It felt so comfortable. Arizona was so good with Sofia that she found herself falling for her even faster. Whenever Callie mentioned having a daughter on dates it gave people pause. Most of the time things died off once people found out Callie had a daughter. Most people were not interested in a 6-year-old little girl being added to their life. Callie didn't care though. Sofia was her life and she wasn't joking when she told Arizona Sofia was her best friend.

As Sofia was telling Arizona about her trip to the beach last week Arizona's phone starts going off. They watch as Arizona pulls her phone out and huffs.

"Well ladies, I have to get going. I have that interview in a few hours and have to get ready. Thank you both for hanging out with me today. We have to do it again soon. Sofia, I am looking forward to our beach day." Arizona gets up and gives Sofia a hug goodbye and Sofia goes back to swimming.

"Calliope, thank you for today. I had an awesome time. I will call you later?"

"Thank you. Sof and I had a wonderful time. Enjoy your interview and I will talk to you later." They both looked over at Sofia who was under water and Callie gave Arizona a quick kiss. She would eventually talk to Sofia about the two of them dating, but that was for her and Sofia to do privately.

Callie watched as Arizona walked through the back gate to the front of the house. She hated that Arizona had to go but the idea that she was interviewing with ESPN in a few hours made Callie so proud to call Arizona her girlfriend. Yeah, she liked the sound of that!
