At just after 3 Liv found Fin and Amanda bent over their desks, heads in their arms. OK you two, off home the both of you, you are both shattered. Amanda started to say something, no go the two of you, the 3 of us can finish up here. Ok she said, Fin just put his hand up to say bye, he was too tired to talk. Nick was in the staff area getting a drink. Amanda walked in and sat on the couch. Hey, you OK? No, I'm tired and I feel another headache coming on. Liv has told me and Fin to go home. Good, you need sleep. Yeah, she sighed. He walked over and sat down beside her, took her hand which was between them and held it. Go home, get some sleep mi cariño, I'll be home soon, I'll wake you when dinner is ready. She smiled and put her head on his arm. You're not going to your house tonight? No, he replied and whispered I'm going home to you. I'll go to the house in the morning. He rested his chin on her head. Ok, she said. She got up and said, see you when you get home smiling at him, he smiled back, see you at home. You know I like that. He looked at her, what? Home she replied smiling. He grinned I'll try not to wake you when I get in. OK she replied. And she left. He sat there drinking his coffee thinking and smiling. Carisi walked in, hey you ok Amaro? huh, oh yeah, he said, just thinking about a few things. About the case? No, he said, just some personal stuff I've got going on. Ah, if there's anything I can help with let me know. Nick looked at him. Thanks man, I'm all good at the minute though. Nick headed back to his desk. Liv said, I've sent Rollins and Fin home, I came out and found them slumped over the desk. He laughed, how long was I in making that coffee? She hit his arm and laughed, probably not that long to be fair, I should have sent them home at lunchtime, I thought food and fresh air would have woken them up a bit. Yeah, apparently not with those two he laughed. She sat on his desk, so how did it go with Fin at lunch? she asked. He smiled, great he said, I'll not lie, I was a bit nervous telling him, but he was great about it. Apparently according to Fin, we should have got together before my divorce was finalised, he laughed. I agree she said, and I told Amanda that, it took you two bloody long enough. He smiled, I'll not lie, I was nervous about you knowing too, I'm kinda glad it was Amanda told you. She looked at him Why? He shrugged his shoulders, aww I don't know, just you and Fin, you two are more than family to us Liv. She smiled, look I can't judge, I was nervous about telling him about me and Barba, and also you and Rollins, I don't know we all have a connection that just….. she couldn't find a word. Yeah, I know what you mean he said. We've just got to worry about others finding out. Yeah, not just yet hopefully, we're all working fine now we'll try and keep it like that as long as we can. He smiled.
It hit 5.30 and Liv said right you two let's get home. Carisi said thank God, Nick replied, I second what he said Liv said I back the two of you up. They headed to the Elevator. So you anything planned for your day off tomorrow Nick? Liv asked, yeah I've a few things to do to the house for the kids coming on Thursday he said. I need to get some shopping in too. You both on call tomorrow? he asked. No, I swapped said Liv, Fin and Carisi are on call tomorrow, along with Carmichael from the other team. He has something on with his kid during the week, so I said I'd swap. I only found out about it this morning so it's a welcome change she smiled. Hopefully there's no calls though she said. Carisi said I've got everything crossed for that. Nick smiled.
They each said goodbye at the car park and went their separate ways. Nick got into the car and checked his phone good he said no-one's looking me. He sat it on the cradle and drove out of the car park. He called into the supermarket on the way home and picked up a few bits to make dinner. He arrived back at Amanda's and quietly walked in. He put the shopping down on the table and walked to the bedroom. Amanda was sleeping soundly. He smiled and turned and closed the door again. He went to work at making dinner. Around an hour later he went back into the bedroom to get a change of clothes. He walked into the bathroom and got changed, put his washing in the wash basket then went back to the bedroom. He walked around to her side of the bed and gently sat down on the edge. He bent over and kissed her head and stroked her hair. Hey mi amor he whispered, time to wake up, or you'll not sleep tonight baby. Hmmm she groaned as she stirred. She opened her eyes and smiled at him. Hey when did you get home? she asked as she stretched and took his hand. Over an hour ago he said, what time is it? she asked. Almost 8pm as he bent down and kissed her lips. Her eyes sprung open wide, Oh my God really? yeah that's why I came in now. You'll not sleep tonight. No she said, thanks honey. God I had my alarm set for 6pm. I must have slept through it. He smiled well you did need sleep mi amor he smiled. Yeah, mmmm something smells nice she said smelling the food, and her stomach rumbled. Yeah that's another reason why I came in, dinner's almost ready. She pulled him down again and kissed him. Thank you baby she said, I'm glad you're home. He smiled, I'm glad to be home mi cariño and they had another kiss. He broke it off and said, come on, let's eat, you have to be hungry. She smiled, yeah, I am. Ok I'll go dish up he said. He kissed her again quickly and left the room. She got up and went to the bathroom, brushed her teeth and brushed her hair and put it in a ponytail. She walked into the kitchen to find him just sitting the plates on the table. Nick this looks amazing she said, he smiled, and they sat down. He'd poured her some wine and she took a sip. Oh my, that's gorgeous wine. She looked around, this is lovely Nick, she reached over for his hand and said Thank you. Anything for mi amor he said. We have to try and do this more often. Although, not tomorrow. She looked at him, why not? I've booked us a table for tomorrow evening for something to eat. Our 1st proper date he said and smiled. She got butterflies in her stomach Nick you didn't have to do that, I know was the reply. But I want to Amanda. If we're going to have a proper relationship where we know what we already want down the line, then we have to do it properly, and that means proper dates too. I want to treat you like the Queen that you are. Oh, I'm no queen she replied, he took her hand. You are to me he replied, you're mi reina. Ok she said, so what's you're my king in Spanish then? He smiled, Tu eres mi rey, mi rey is my king. OK she said and repeated it back to him. He smiled. You know you don't have to speak to me in Spanish if you don't want to, he said. I know she replied, but I like it when you speak to me in both, and I'd like to get to know the language. Especially if you're going to be talking to Noah in Spanish she said, and who knows, if we ever have kids, she looked up at him shrugging her shoulders, well I need to know the lingo. He got butterflies in his stomach at the last part of her sentence. He looked at her and smiled, if we have kids? Yeah, she said smiling shyly, let's face it Nick, we've both thought about it she laughed. I can't deny that anymore. She blushed, and he smiled. Yeah, he grinned, I'd like to think we will have kids someday. Not just yet though he said, I want you all to myself for another while. She smiled, absolutely. They finished dinner and she said she would load the dishwasher. What else do we need to get done tomorrow she asked. Just go out and buy the wallpaper and pick a couch or 2 and we need see about a bed for our bedroom and mattresses for the kid's rooms, but that can be done closer to the time of moving in he said. It's wallpaper that's needed. I think I'll take Gil and Zara out next week and they can pick their own paper. The contractors are meeting us at the house at 12 noon tomorrow to look at kitchens and bathrooms and see what we want done. The agent is calling to the house at 11am tomorrow. OK well we can go to your house in the morning and give it a quick once over, or actually would we not best staying there tonight Nick? He looked, we can stay there of you want to bonita, I thought you'd be happier just staying here. She walked over to him and sat beside him, hey, wherever you are I'm happy mi rey. And she kissed him. But look, if you're more comfortable here then that's fine with me she said. I know how you feel about your house now, so I'm not forcing you either way. We'll stay here tonight he kissed her, Ok, she said, sorted and she smiled and kissed him again. I'll get up early and go over in the morning and give it a quick tidy, although we done most of it the other night he said. Yeah, we did, you do that and meet the agent. I'll stay here and tidy up here a bit. He looked at her. You're not coming with me tomorrow? She looked at him, well it's your private business baby, I don't want you to think I want to know everything he smiled and pulled her closer to him. I honestly don't care Amanda, I've nothing to hide from you, and I don't want to hide anything from you. She smiled, I know hun, but things like that, they're your private business, but if you want me there, I'll be there. He pulled her close. Let's see how you feel in the morning. If you're tired you stay here, and I'll go over. Ok and she snuggled up to him. At just after 10pm they both went to bed. They were both tired so just cuddled up to each other and fell asleep soon after.
