An hour later Nick and Fin returned from picking up a suspect and booked him in. Fin went into the bathroom while Nick went into the staff area to get a drink from the fridge. Carisi was in there too and they both stood chatting. Where are Liv and Rollins? He asked. They're in Benson's office checking out the CCTV he said. Nick sat down on the couch and Fin joined them. A few minutes later they heard NICK! It was Liv shouting him. The other 2 looked at him, Uh-Oh this doesn't sound good he said. What have you done now Nick said Fin. Nothing! Well as far as I know anyway replied Nick. He got up and walked out, what? I'm only in getting a drink. He saw Amanda back at her desk head down. Nick she's complaining about another headache Olivia said, can you give her one of those head massages to see if it helps? OK, he said looking around them, does it have to be in the middle of here though? Olivia looked around her and said, yeah ok good point, Carisi can you help Nick with Rollins, Yeah, sure boss, where am I going? Fin said up to the bunk room, she can lie down there too. Nick went over to Amanda and he and Liv helped her up, he was worried about her, he could see she had been crying. Carisi helped him take her upstairs and Amanda said, really, I'm fine guys, it's just a headache. Carisi replied, let Nick try to help you Rollins, she then said, Carisi there's tablets in my drawer could you grab me 2 and some water. Yes of course he replied. When he was gone Nick sat down beside her, hey bonita are you sure this is just a headache? Yes, she replied, leaning her head against his chest, he put his arm around her, it's just worse because I'm tired. You sure? Nothing I should be worried about? She smiled, no, nothing to worry about baby. He moved his hand up to the back of her head and started gently massaging it while she still rested against his chest. Carisi returned with water and tablets. He handed Nick the tablets as he held the water for her. Here Rollins, Nick said, take these. She took the tablets from his hand and thanked Carisi for the water. Carisi then said I'll head back downstairs the boss wants to come up. He left them both and Nick kissed the top of her head, hey, lie down on the bed and I'll massage your head. She done as he asked and he sat on the edge and started to run his hands through her hair. Within a few minutes she was sleeping. He removed one hand and leant his head on it while he carried on massaging with the other when Olivia came into the room. He heard her come up and he put his finger to his lips. Sshh, he whispered she's sleeping. Olivia sat on the bed facing him, is she really OK Nick? He smiled, yeah, I think so. He removed his hand from her head and run it through his own hair. He sighed. She told me it's to do with her time of the month he whispered, and Olivia smiled. Yeah, she told me that earlier in the car. I've never noticed her having headaches like this before though he said. No Olivia replied, neither have I, but I suppose she's either been good at hiding the pain, or it's just the side effect of the shot is worse this time. He looked at her, they can cause this? Yeah, she replied. Ok he said, I know nothing about that, Maria used the pill. Olivia smiled. Hey, she whispered, maybe you should take her home? He looked at the sleeping Amanda beside him. Nah, she'll kill us both he laughed. Yeah, she probably will, she agreed, we'll leave her to sleep for a bit and see how she is after it. Yeah, she got up as did he, he leant over and kissed her head and left.

A few hours later they were back at home. Nick arrived home 1st and he started dinner. Amanda came out of the bedroom and had changed into her favourite clothing, a pair of Nick's boxers and one of his T-Shirts. He was just in a pair of light pyjama bottoms.

While dinner was cooking he came and joined her on the sofa. He put his arm around her and kissed her head. Hey. You feeling better now he asked. Yeah, she said as she snuggled into him. He looked down at her and said, so Liv said something about this could be because you got your shot when I was away? Mmhmm she said. It's one of the side effects, and I very rarely get headaches, it must be just whatever is in the dose this time. Ok he said, she looked up at him, honestly baby, it's nothing to worry about though and she smiled. It happens like once or twice a year, and only happens the one month. She kissed him and said I'm ok. Ok, I'm sorry he said, I know nothing about the shot, Maria was on the pill, so this is new to me. She smiled, I know baby but I'm OK. Then she laughed, Olivia thought I was pregnant. He looked at her shocked, no I'm not she laughed, but it led to a very awkward conversation she said blushing. Okay he said slowly, she smiled, yeah when I recovered from the shock, she just said she didn't know if we were using protection or not. Nick's jaw dropped, and Amanda laughed. Yeah, that was basically my reaction. Thankfully I didn't have to say anything she quickly told me she didn't want to know. Nick couldn't believe what he was hearing. She looked at him quizzingly. What's wrong baby? she asked. He looked at her; nothing, just, I never really thought about using anything else since our 1st time. I mean if you want me to I will, and she put her finger on his lips. Sshh she said, I don't want you to. I told you, I trust you, and any other time I have had sex, I always used condoms. She kissed him. You're the 1st person I've never used protection with. He smiled. Well apart from Maria obviously and Cynthia that one time he rolled his eyes, and she laughed I've always used it. And after Cynthia I did get tests just to be sure. Actually, with Maria we usually used condoms too. She looked shocked. Really? Yeah, he said, should have been a sign then too shouldn't it? he laughed. Well, I'm happy the way we are she said, unless you want to use them. He kissed her, not really, he said, I like feeling you with nothing between us, she grinned, me too she whispered, he added, but if you ever change your mind, I'll do whatever you want. She smiled again, I'll not change my mind baby, and they kissed passionately for a few minutes.

He got up and said, Ok let's have dinner. He pulled her up and she hugged him again, he kissed her head and they went to the kitchen. When they finished dinner they headed back to the couch and watched some TV. Soon, Nick felt Amanda sleeping soundly again on his chest. He smiled and pulled her closer to him. Around 30minutes later he heard her phone ring. He stretched to the coffee table to lift it up and saw it was Liv so he answered. Hi Liv he said quietly. Oh Hey Nick, is Amanda there? she asked. She is, but she's sleeping at the minute, have you got a case? What, oh, no Nick it's OK I was just phoning her to check that she was OK. He smiled. Yeah she's fine, no more headaches he said. She's had some dinner and just fallen asleep there not too long ago. I'm going to head off soon and leave her to sleep he said. He didn't want Olivia to know he was basically living here just yet. Ok well let her know I phoned, and I'll see you tomorrow she said. Ok Liv he said, see you tomorrow.

As he hung up Amanda started to stir beside him. She tightened her arm around him and said, you're not going to your house tonight are you? she said sleeply. He looked down at her and smiled, you heard that? And he kissed her head. Mmhmm she said, no mi cariño I'm not going anywhere only to bed he whispered. I only said that to Liv as I don't want her to know I'm staying over just yet. She smiled, good baby, I don't want you to go. What did she want? Oh she was just phoning to see that you were OK. Please tell me you said I was. Of course I did he replied. Ok mi reina, let's take this conversation to the bedroom he said. You need your sleep. She didn't move so he picked her up and carried her into the bedroom. Thank you mi rei she said. He went to the bathroom then returned to the living room to switch the lights and tv off. He then returned to the bedroom removed his bottoms and climbed in beside her. He pulled her close to him and she let out a huge sigh. I love you Nick Amaro she whispered and kissed his chest. I love you more he replied back, kissing her forehead. Soon they were both fast asleep.
