At just after 12 Nick called Gil and Zara and told them to get ready to go out. Zara came out and put her shoes on, Gil was on the couch reading. Where are we going dad? Well I need to call to the station for 5 minutes, aww dad he groaned, and Nick laughed, don't worry hijo, I'm not getting out of the car, one of the officers is bringing some paperwork out to me. Zara piped up will we get to see Amanda? Nick smiled, I'm not sure bebita, she might be out on a case. Can we call her and see? I'll text her in case she's busy bebita he smiled. They got into the car and drove to the station. He pulled into the car park and text Amanda to tell her they were here, he also added the kids didn't know she was coming to lunch. She arrived to the car a few minutes later, opened the door and jumped in. Hello you two she said grinning. AMANDA! They both shouted excitedly. Nick laughed surprise guys he said, and he leaned over to give Amanda a kiss. Careful you she whispered. I don't care anymore baby he whispered back. And kissed her again. She sat back smiling and he took her hand. Ok so where are we going for lunch she asked? Are you really coming with us Amanda? shouted Zara. She laughed, yes honey, we're going to have some lunch, and maybe a walk she looked at Nick, and then you can drop me back to the station. Awesome said Gil. Yaaayy sung Zara. Nick smiled at Amanda again and she smiled back at him. I think you've got two fans here Rollins, he said laughing. You think? She laughed. Yes, you do said Zara, we love you Amanda she said. Aww and she turned to look at them both, you know what? I think I love you two also and she smiled. Zara then said and daddy too. She turned back to Nick. Oh, I definitely can't forget about daddy she said putting a hand on his leg and rubbed it. I hope not! he said putting his hand on her's, nah said Gil she can't forget about you dad, she loves you too much. Amanda and Nick looked at each other and laughed, that's right Gil, Amanda said. They pulled up at a small diner and got out. Zara ran into Amanda's arms. As she picked her up Nick said, I think I've been blew out he laughed. He pulled Amanda into him and kissed her head then Zara's. He put his arm around Gil, that's fine he said, me and Gil will be best buds then and Gil laughed. They ate lunch and talked about lots of different things. Nick took a few photos of the kids and then Gil said dad let me take one of you and Amanda. Nick handed the phone over and they posed for a picture.
Lunch eaten and paid for they headed back to the car to go to a local play park. Nick and Amanda held hands as they walked behind Zara and Gil. The 2 kids went for a play and Nick and Amanda sat on a bench, he put his arm around her as she leant into his embrace. She gave him a kiss and said, this is perfect. He smiled, it is isn't it? And he kissed her again. They sat like that for around 10 minutes before Zara wanted pushed on the swing. Amanda stayed on the bench and watched Nick play with Zara, Gil got bored and came and sat beside her. You OK buddy? Yeah, he replied. She looked at him and said, hey you want to play on my phone? He grinned yes please. Ok just let me know if it rings ok? Yeah he said, she gave him her phone and he said can I just use your camera? Sure, she said, and she opened it for him. He turned the screen around and said, Smile Amanda, she turned, and he took a picture of them both and he laughed. Hey that's no fair, I wasn't ready she said laughing. Ok lets take another one he said. She put her arm around him, and he took another one. That's a better one he said. He then got up and walked over to take some pictures of Nick and Zara and some more selfies. Amanda smiled and got up and joined them. She took over pushing Zara on a tyre swing, and Nick then took some photos on his phone. They then went for a walk around the lake nearby. As Nick and Amanda walked with their arm around each other, Gil took some more photos on Amanda's phone. He then went up to her side and took her hand here's your phone back Amanda. Thanks buddy she said. She put it in her pocket and then took his hand again, Zara was holding Nick's hand. The 2 kids then ran off in front of them. Nick shouted after Zara, be careful with my phone bebita! He then stopped and turned to Amanda and kissed her. What's was that for? she asked, just wanted to, he smiled draping his arms around her neck and leant in for another kiss and to say Thank you. I've never been this happy he said. She wrapped her arms around his waist, me neither she replied. She looked at the time, ugh she said, I need to head back. He groaned and said I wish you didn't. They continued to walk again, I know baby, but just think from next month I'll be off the same time as you so we can do this more often. He smiled and rubbed her arm. I can't wait. Gil came back up to them and gave Nick his phone back. Thank you hijo he said. You know what, I need you to take a photo of Me, Amanda and Zara, then we will get Zara to take one of me you and Amanda. Ok he smiled. Photos taken Amanda then said, OK photo of you two with your dad, then Nick said, one with my 3 favourite people he grinned. A lady walked past as Nick took the picture and she said would you like me to take one of the 4 of you she asked? Yes please said Gil, and Nick smiled, and said Thank you. She took a photo and then asked Nick to take one on her phone of her and her little girl. They both thanked each other again and went their separate ways. Back in the car they drove back to the station. I had a great time guys Amanda said, thank you. She kissed Nick and said I'll see you 3 later on OK. See you at home said Zara. They headed off and Amanda went back inside.
As Nick drove off he said, OK you two, anything else you would like to do before we head back home? Gil said, can we go get some things for our new room please? I want to get a photo frame for photos. And can we print the photo of the 4 of us out dad? Nick smiled, sure we can. They went to a local retail park and they went to print the photo. As he was looking at the screen Nick saw photos he didn't recognise, he looked closer and saw the photos Gil had taken of their day today, and some from yesterday of him and Amanda kissing and hugging. He smiled and selected all of them to print. The one of the 4 of them he selected in a bigger size too. He wanted one for the living room at his house and Amanda's. Gil had also asked for the photo of himself with Nick and Zara too, so he printed 2 off so they could have one each. Gil came back with a photo frame that could hold 8 photos. Can I get this one? Nick smiled, you can he said, you know what, go lift 2 more. And I need to find 4 smaller frames too he smiled. Zara came back with a similar one to Gill only in white, daddy can have this one? You can bebita. Nick went to get a trolley and put the frames in it. Photos printed, and frames bought they headed back home. Nick told Gil to put the frames for their rooms in their bedroom and he would take them over to the new house next time he went over. He then took the other frames and put the photos he'd printed for Zara and Gil in, he then got the 2 bigger frames and put the photo of the 4 of them in each one. Gil returned and said, wow that's a good one he smiled. Nick smiled and said, it is isn't it? And there were some other great photos on my phone he said, Gil blushed and Nick put his arm around him. Thank you son, and kissed his head. A while later they were sitting in the living room playing a board game. Zara walked off in a huff again because she wasn't winning, Gil sighed, and Nick laughed. They finished playing then put the game away. Sitting on the couch Nick kept thinking of the pictures Gil had taken. Hey Gil? Yeah dad? Do you like taking photos? Gil grinned. Yeah, I do, I've taken some with mum and she has them hung around the house. Nick smiled, you've a great talent there. Maybe we should see about getting you to take some photos for the new house. Gil grinned, really can I? Nick laughed, of course you can. Hey, go get the iPad and we'll look to see what games console we're getting he grinned. Gil ran and opened up the pages. The 2 of them sat on the couch and looked at various games. OK when you come down to visit next month we'll go and pick one up. Thanks Dad he said and hugged him. Zara walked out and was in a better mood. Hey hija, you all better now? Yes, daddy. Ok I'm going to make us dinner tonight Nick announced so we need to go get some ingredients. I was thinking maybe we have a cinema night tonight? We can get some treats in, some popcorn and that. They both cheered. OK into the car then and we'll head off. Daddy what time is Amanda coming home? He looked at the clock, not long now bebita.
Back home from shopping Gil was helping Nick make the dinner, he was stirring the sauce while Nick added some vegetables to it. Amanda text to say she was on her way home, so Nick told Zara to help set the table. 20 minutes later Amanda walked through the door. Amanda! Zara shouted and ran into her arms. Hey honey she laughed, and picked her up, you have a good afternoon? Uh-huh she said and hugged her We're having a cinema night tonight she said, we've got treats and ice-cream and popcorn. Oh, that's sounds good said Amanda. She walked over to the kitchen where Gil and Nick were dishing out the food. Hey buddy, you have a good afternoon? Yeah, he said, she put Zara down then went over to Nick and kissed him, hey baby she smiled, did you have a good afternoon? He kissed her again, I did he said. He pulled her into a hug and said ok you two go sit down at the table I'll bring your plates out now. He looked at her again and kissed her more passionately when they were gone. Hmmm she sighed, resting her head against his chest. Dinner smells good. He smiled, and pecked her lips again, go on and get changed, I'll plate yours up. She smiled and walked into the bedroom to get changed. A few minutes later she was back, and Nick was just sitting their plates down. Good timing, he said.
Dinner finished they sat talking around the table. Then Gil and Amanda carried the dishes into the kitchen, and he helped load the dishwasher. Nick went and got 3 bags and sat them beside him on the couch. When Gil and Amanda came out Amanda sat beside him and snuggled into his side, Hey, I've got something for you all from today. He gave Gil and Zara their gift bags and then Amanda hers. They opened them at the same time. Thanks dad said Gil and Zara looking at their frames. He smiled and looked at Amanda who was teary eyed. She looked at him and leant over to kiss him. Thank you baby she whispered and kissed him again. It's beautiful she said. Gil then took the smaller copy of the photo out, I'm putting this in my room when I get back to LA he said. Zara said, I want to keep mine for my new room here she whined. Nick laughed, well you can keep that one for here and take the other one to LA how about that. She thought then said OK. I'll put it in the bag with my photo frame to keep it safe. Nick laughed Ok you do that. He then said to Gil, there are 3 frames over there Gil, bring them to me. Amanda looked and he said that one is for home he smiled, These ones here, he had the same one she was holding, are for the new house he smiled, these 2 smaller ones can go on either side. The smaller ones were the photos they had taken of each other with Gil and Zara. Why are you not putting them up here Zara asked? Well because when you go home tomorrow bebita on Monday I'm going to start packing this house up he said, then turned to Amanda and grinned. The estate agent phoned this afternoon to say this place has sold. Amanda's mouth was open, he laughed and leant in to kiss her. So, he said to the kids, next time you come to visit it might not be to this house he said. Will it be the new house? Asked Gil. I'm not too sure about that one hijo he said, Zara then looked, well where will we be staying? Nick went to say something, and Amanda put her hand on his chest, well I guess you will have to come and stay at my house. Is that OK with you guys? Nick looked at her, yay said Zara, Ok, said Gil. She smiled, well that's that sorted then she said smiling, Nick smiled and kissed her again and whispered Thank you. She smiled and kissed him again, we'll need to move those bunk beds to mine though, he smiled, that can be arranged.
