Nick walked out to the living room and found Zara and Gil on the couch and chair quietly. Good morning you two. She turned to Gil, so what kind of books do you like reading Gil? I like mystery ones he said. Ok she said, I was thinking that maybe we should get you a bookcase for your room in the new house? Gil put his book down and smiled, that would be great he said, can I get new books too? Amanda laughed, of course you can buddy. Next time you come to visit maybe we'll take you to a bookstore so you can pick some up. Cool he replied. Can I get some too? asked Zara, of course you can honey.
Nick walked out dressed and ready for the day, he smiled as he saw the scene in front of him, Zara cuddled up on Amanda's knee and Gil sitting talking to them both. He walked over to the couch and sat on the arm beside Amanda and Zara. Hey, here's my favourite people, he put his hand on Amanda's head and kissed her head. I'm going to make myself some breakfast, anyone hungry? Gil and Zara said no, Amanda asked what are you making? I'm thinking an omelette he replied smiling at her and stroking her head. Ok, Gil 10 more minutes then you go get yourself dressed, Zara I'm going to go and get your clothes out and you can do the same. OK daddy. Then we can make a start on your room. He got up and walked into the kitchen, Amanda said to Zara, hey honey, I'm gonna get up and help your dad with breakfast, you ok to sit here? Sure, she said, and jumped up. Amanda followed him into the kitchen and walked to him, hey baby she said, you want any help? He turned to her and grinned, no, I'm ok here he said pulling her into him. She hugged him and rested her head on his chest. You sure? Yeah, he sighed and kissed her head. Although if you want you can go pick out some clothes for Zara. She smiled up at him. Sure, I'll leave them in our room. He kissed her again, you're getting the hang of this our room now, I am she smiled back. What are you doing in their room? Oh, I've told them I need to clear out their old clothes and toys so I can start packing up. Gil was excited to do it he laughed. Good idea she said, I'll have to start doing the same back at my house she said, especially if you're moving in. He laughed, you still sure about that? She looked at him, of course I am, I can't wait and she kissed him. What time have you to be at the airport for? About 4.30 he said, Maria will phone me if she needs us there earlier. I'm thinking we have a lazy morning here then head out for lunch, maybe a walk around the park beside the new house before heading to the airport. Sounds lovely she said. The 2 kids walked to their rooms as Amanda and Nick ate their breakfast. They chatted about a few different things, Nick said, I was thinking about maybe calling by the new house after the airport today, Amanda smiled, that'll be nice to see how things are going. Yeah he smiled, we can drop the wallpaper off too. They finished breakfast and put the dishes in the dishwasher, then walked to the living room and sat down cuddling each other. You know what he whispered, I'm glad those 2 made you stay here he smiled, I've loved every minute of you being here with us. I would have missed you too much he said. Not seeing you all weekend would have killed me. She smiled, yeah me too. He smiled and kissed her softly, we're a proper family now he said, and I love every minute of it. Gil returned 1st and then Zara. OK first thing we need to do is pack your cases, Zara I need to brush your hair. I can go one better and do a French plait if you'd like? Zara beamed her dad's smile yes please she jumped up and down. Ok go and get your brush then, but you have to sit still. OK the little girl replied. Nick sat back and rubbed Amanda's back. You never cease to amaze me mi amor. Amanda smiled, and leaned into him, well we've still a lot to learn from each other she said. He kissed her and Gil groaned, Dad please do you have to? You two hugging is embarrassing but that is just eugh. Breaking the kiss Amanda and Nick laughed. You'll not be saying that in a few years hijo when you're in love he told his son as he wrapped his arms around Amanda. Amanda smiled at him and rubbed his back, sorry buddy she said but your dad's right. No, he's not, I'm never going to be like you two. Amanda laughed, I'll remember you said that. Zara returned brush and hair tie in hand. OK hijo, me and you will make a start on the cases, while these 2 have some girly time. He kissed Amanda's head and whispered, we'll make up for that interruption later and she laughed quietly.
