You Only Die Twice
******************* "That's it! We are going out to eat! Let's go boys! I swear! I don't know where your mother is! She left to get the groceries hours ago! Where in the world could she be?" The boys grabbed their jackets and we started off towards the end of the neighborhood. I knew they were starving. We started walking down the street when I realized I forgot my purse. I yelled to the boys who were running ahead of me that I would be right back and I would meet them at the park. I was so glad The Chicken Shack was on the other side of the park and within walking distance. When I got to the house I saw that Amanda's car was in the driveway and there was a silver sports car parked outside right past our driveway. I saw Amanda and a very tall man who was carrying groceries walking towards the back door.
I snuck into the backyard and peeked through the kitchen window. I didn't bother to worry about the flowers underneath, they never seemed to grow there anyway for some reason. I saw Amanda and this very good looking man giggling about something.
I KNEW IT! There was someone at work! I thought to myself.
I smiled as I watched them and saw that there was a special connection between my daughter and this strange man. It seemed to me that they had known one another for a while. I reached into the pocket of my jacket and found some cash hidden in the pocket. Ah. Just enough to get the boys something to eat. I felt guilty for spying on my daughter as I walked away but I had the hopes that maybe someday she would introduce this very handsome man to her family.
