Chapter 5: Intriguing Advice

"So, Shin is going to be busy with your mother about some paperwork… while you will take his post for today."

Naerie nodded. "He asked me if I could help considering that he has been leaving you on your own for a while now."

That was somewhat nice, and yet not something good for me. With Naerie around, it meant that I was going to have a tough time trying to have a conversation with Hope. Also… I couldn't help but see this whole situation as Shin just trying to apologize for something that was unimportant. The issue wasn't the fact he was skipping this much. If there was a good reason or two, I saw no trouble with dealing with 'loneliness'. The real trouble is the lack of communication, something that he once again failed to address as I discovered the scope of the predicament through Naerie herself.

"I will tell him about it. I understand that this is becoming frustrating from you," The Bear Prime offered truthfully, her face showing no indication of it being meant or not… but by now I could tell that she was putting an effort. "And I can still hear you treat me like this… why?"

My lips twitched as I looked away from her. "What do you mean?"

"Trying to decipher me. Why do you feel interested in doing that?" She explained. "I don't recall having kept it a secret to the point of you needing this."

I frowned at that comment, sparing the redhead a long look. "Why not? In fact, it would feel a bit dull if I just asked."

Naerie looked back at me, finishing to set her papers by the counter. "Dull? How so?"

"It's all about painting mental images. Like, trying to do some detective work," I tried to elaborate, the girl giving me no sign of following my line of thought. "It's… rewarding in its own ways."

"And it spares you from embarrassment."

I closed my eyes and sighed.

"Sorry," Naerie muttered, almost sounding to mean the apology and surprising me. "I shouldn't be reading your mind this much but..."

"Bored?" I guessed and she hummed.

"Pensive."

I frowned. "What about?"

"I believe I can do much more with Shin but… I think he is unable to pick up 'hints' about it," The young woman answered readily. "And I don't want him to think that I'm unable to bring in some 'spice' into our relationship."

"Did he… bring this issue up? Not verbally, but through his actions, I mean."

The Bear Prime was staring once more to the counter. "He didn't."

…Then something was off about this notion.

"There is no issue with it."

"There is," I rebuked with a small smile on my face. "In fact, I think I also learned when you are lying."

"I didn't-"

"You tend to interrupt people a lot when you are lying. Either when talking or about thoughts," I added, my smile growing as I could tell I got her from her long silence. "So, what's really all about? Do you have any issues with the relationship? Anything you want to talk about?"

"Perhaps. And no, it's not about the way Shin treats me," Naerie admitted with a low voice. "It's… the way I behave about our relationship."

...Is she talking about cheating?

"No."

"Can I get some privacy when I'm thinking about this?" I remarked with some annoyance, getting a little nod from the redhead. "Then, what is it all about?"

"Our relationship isn't exactly one that many humans would engage in, not without getting shunned by their society," Naerie replied slowly. "It's… more open than the usual one."

"Open as in-"

"We both are aware that we are allowed to have multiple partners, but with our lover being aware and having to make sure this doesn't end in any awkward pregnancies."

Shin was actually in that kind of relationship? He didn't sound like that kind of guy- Actually, Hope even had him portrayed as quite the monogamous gentlemen. Was I missing some pieces? Could it be that Hope wasn't aware of this or…

I sighed, trying to reorganize my brain. "And the problem is-"

"I have trouble finding partners. Not just because of trust, but also a few of those I met have interest in sparing more than a word or two after talking just once with me," Naerie interrupted once more. "I'm… do you think it's wrong for me to make a problem out of this?"

At that question, I couldn't help but return it with another one. "Are you troubled by this?"

"Yes."

"Then it definitely is," I replied truthfully. "I mean, open or not, a relationship should focus on granting equal amounts of love and duty to both lovers in its own unique dynamic. So, you might have a partner-finding problem."

There was a moment of silence, with Naerie seemingly considering my words. It felt like a layer of unease from her stoic expression had vanished in the meantime and soon she was keen to expand on the topic.

"And what do you think I should do to… solve this?"

That was a difficult question. Not only I couldn't do much about her main issue, but I really had nothing that could really help in a meaningful way. Still, I decided to try with a few changes. First change was about her attire. She was currently wearing a white shirt, dark skirt, stockings and black boots.

"I will try something, but next time you should put an effort into it yourself. Okay?"

Naerie nodded and didn't react much as I started with my effort. I took out a few buttons, revealing a good part of the cleavage, but falling short before actually going at Hope's levels.

"Why not more?" She asked, clearly intrigued by this unusual detail.

"Buttons can be used as a way to determine how interested a well-endowed woman can be about socializing and more," I started to explain, making sure that it was enough for her behavior. "Right now you are giving off the intention of a girl that is ready to delve into intimacy, but not to the point of being either too desperate or too into it."

She nodded and I continued with other efforts which… I couldn't work on due to the limitation imposed by the very situation we were in.

"Next time you're wearing stockings, you should aim for something shorter, around knee-level. The point of that is to highlight your… thiccness."

Her eyes glinted in realization. "Is that the word for… pleasant fat, or something of that kind?"

"Sorta, yes."

"Oh, I think I understand," Naerie hummed positively. "What's next?"

"Well, your skirt should be at least an inch shorter, maybe two. The main goal of when you dress to seduce someone is to attract their attention, provide them with enough details of the situation, and then proceed with the… deed."

The Bear Prime nodded slowly, but then forwarded a question that left me surprised.

"What about panties?"

I frowned at that. "What about panties?"

Instead of explaining, she merely lifted her skirt and… showed me quite the situation. She wasn't wearing any at the moment and she was positively dripping. There was no pubic hair, 'shaven clean' didn't apply due to the still-present fur but it would be the closest way to describe that. A brief glance to her face highlighted a detail I hadn't taken into account due to me focusing on her body rather than her face. I hadn't noticed that a fiery blush had appeared on her cheeks, 'cracking' into her mask and showing that this whole process had left her quite aroused. Truth be told, Naerie was gorgeous. Competing with Hope in terms of beauty, her strengths lingered more on the soft-spoken and yet 'quiet' Kuudere attitude she had with others. It was fucking cute. And I felt stuck in the middle of two possible routes…

I decided to not risk it.

"Optional. Although it would sell better if you at least wore those underneath."

Naerie nodded, no words provided as I returned to my seat and… kept quiet. The silence was awkward, and I felt like the redhead had tried to give me a hint or two that when she referred to 'attracting' partners, she meant me. Quite odd for a request, but I had my motivations to not jump at the chance. 'Not yet', part of my brain alluded. First, I had to take into account that Hope was to arrive in ten minutes from that instance, and then… there was the fact I wasn't exactly into that kind of stuff. Not wholly. I just felt like it would be 'wrong' towards Shin. Even though it wouldn't be, the feeling of wrong persisted and I couldn't shrug it off no matter how hot the Bear Prime was.

"That's another reason why I would like to have you as a partner," Naerie muttered, something in her voice different from the usually bland tone. "You care for Shin a lot. You see him as a close friend and… you are afraid of hurting him about it. That's noble and interesting. And I like it."

I looked once more at Naerie, and I saw it. Just for a moment, just for a brief instant, a smile. And it was… pretty. Another blush adorned her face, clearly picking up my thoughts.

"Y-You also have a nice cock."

My jaw dropped. "What?!"

Before I could get any answer about that addition she blurted out, our conversation was interrupted when Hope opened the door with a panicked look in her face.

"HIDE ME!"

Surprise appeared on our faces as the girl didn't seem to mind that Naerie was here, swiftly jumping over the counter and hiding under it. I was about to ask when I saw two individuals pass by the library's entrance, stop a moment to look through the glasses and… stare right at me. One was a petite-framed Fox Prime with red hair with a few blonde bangs left free. She had blue eyes and looked quite chill at first glance. She was wearing a half-sleeved shirt with 'I am Fiery' written on it, a pair of black yoga pants and a pair of sports shoes. Next up was a Tiger Prime that was… tall. She had dark-blue hair combed in twintails, her green eyes gleaming with interest. She was wearing a sleeveless black shirt and a pair of light-blue jeans and half boots. They were giving me the kind of stare one would give when they recognize someone familiar. And I knew nothing about them so… why were they giving me that look? There was a bit of a standoff, but soon the duo left, talking with each other and leaving me to handle a very panicking Hope.

"T-They are gone right?"

"...Yeah?" I answered truthfully and she seemed to calm down a little bit.

"Good and-"

"Why were Vixy and Traci hunting you down?" Naerie's voice had the Gazelle Prime jump in surprise, having forgotten about that detail… and said jump ended up propelling me into my lap as she held me really tight.

"W-What?!"

"The two girls, why were they looking for you?"

A nervous look appeared on the young woman's face. "I- Uh… Let's just say that I might have caused a problem… to the two of us."

My frown deepened as Hope started to explain the full situation and…

Let's just say that now I had to be aware of a few ambushes in the near future due to some gossip implying I was now Hope's boyfriend since I was seen taking her out for Shopping.

And so it begins! These two- oh, these two will be a fun addition but… nothing kinky early on. Only because I want to give them a proper introduction after all.
