A lovely little affair
************ Amanda came downstairs dressed in a beautiful black velvet gown. It had spaghetti straps and pearl buttons. She looked gorgeous. Her hair was piled high on her head and she was wearing the beautiful heart necklace the boys and I had given her for Christmas.
"Amanda! You look stunning! Where are you off tonight?"
Amanda smiled and said "Oh Mother, it's just work."
I put my hands on my hips and looked at her. "Amanda. The dress you wore the other night I could see that being for a business dinner. But this….this young lady…this is a date night dress! You want to look very nice for whoever is taking you out. I'm right about this…aren't I?"
Amanda blushed. I knew I was right. This was a date. And by the looks of it…it was possibly a first date of sorts. Oohh! I wonder if it was Mr. Tuxedo from long ago. I bet it is! She's trying to figure out something to say. She wants it to be a date, but she's still not so sure.
Amanda came over to give me a hug goodbye and whispered "Yes, Mother, I really would like this to be a real date. We will just have to see. Love you."
Amanda grabbed her clutch and shawl and went out the door. I of course flew to the window and there he was. Mr. Tuxedo. He reached for my daughter's hand and kissed her cheek! This was promising! He helped her into his little silver sports car and they drove away. Things were definitely looking up for my daughter!
