A black Eta-2 class interceptor exited hyperspace near the volcanic planet of Mustafar.
It swiftly entered the atmosphere and soon landed on one of the platforms of a large base on the planet, just above a river of lava where the Separatists were gathered.
The cockpit opened up and the slim, strong figure of Darth Vader emerged from the starfighter, in a black sith tunic, black pants, black boots, and a black cape.
He stepped onto the platform and began to advance towards the command centre.
Meanwhile, in the command centre, separatist officials were viewing situations on different planets through their holotables when suddenly, mouse droids swiftly entered and scattered, making way for a hooded figure in black who entered the room and stood there, just near the doorway.
"Welcome Lord Vader," Nute Gunray, Viceroy of the Trade Federation spoke in a greeting manner, "We have been expecting you."
Vader lifted his left hand, and with a wave of his fingers, he closed a set of doors.
He then moved his left hand and with another wave, closed another set of doors, with the B1 battle droids standing guard turning around in confusion.
Meanwhile, at the Jedi Temple…
Blaster bolts rang out as two lightsabers moved in unison, one green and one purple.
Yoda swiftly deflected blaster bolts that came his way, killing any clones that attempted to overpower him. Turning around, he thrust his lightsaber like a spear and it impaled a clone in the chest. Pulling it out, he leapt towards two other clones while Mace swung his lightsaber swiftly, and killed a few remaining clones around them.
Yoda then deflected a bolt, killing the last remaining clone in their way.
He held a determined stance with his lightsaber before deactivating it.
Meanwhile, at the Senate building…
Senators were clapping even as Chancellor Palpatine spoke in a rather sinister voice, "The Jedi rebellion has been foiled."
At that moment, Bail entered a pod where Senators Jar Jar Binks and Mon Mothma were sitting.
Bail asked, "What's happened?"
Mon Mothma replied, "The Chancellor has been elaborating on a plot by the Jedi to overthrow the Senate."
Meanwhile, in the Chancellor's podium, Palpatine, being flanked by Mas Amedda and Sly Moore, loudly declared, "The remaining Jedi will be hunted down and defeated."
Meanwhile, in the hallways of the Jedi Temple…
The scene that presented itself before Yoda and Mace was horrific.
In the large hallway that they were passing through, bodies of dead Jedi lay here and there across the floor.
They came across a few Padawans and younglings, lying dead.
"Not even those younglings survived," Mace said even as he removed his hood, "If it had not been for Anakin…"
"Killed not by clones, this Padawan," Yoda spoke painfully, "By a lightsaber he was."
Mace knelt down and observed the bodies before turning to Yoda and saying, "Vader did this. Only he could have done such a thing."
Meanwhile, on Mustafar…
Vader spun and struck several gathered Separatists in the command center.
A B1 battle droid attempted to fire upon him in defense but it was hopelessly in vain. Vader cut down the droid and then the two Neimodians that stood before him.
Meanwhile, in the Senate Chamber…
Palpatine spoke gravely, "The attempt on my life, has left me scarred, and deformed, but I assure you, my resolve has never been stronger!"
Even as many senators clapped, Bail and Mon looked warily at the Chancellor.
Meanwhile, on Mustafar…
Even as Vader cut down a few more Separatists, a Neimodian cried out, "Stop, stop!" Needless to say, he was mercilessly slain at once by the Sith Lord.
He then killed a few more remaining Separatists in the room and deflected a bolt fired from behind by a B1 battle droid, straight back towards the attacker, who needless to say, fell to the floor with a thud.
He then turned to observe the scenes at the holotables for a moment before turning to look with his burning yellow eyes upon the fear stricken form of Nute Gunray on the other side of a conference table.
Meanwhile, in the Senate Chamber…
Palpatine spoke, raising his voice, "In order to ensure the security and the continuing stability, the Republic will be organized into the First, Galactic, Empire, for a safe, secure, society!"
And thousands of senators gathered in this assembly did nothing but applaud loudly, even as the Chancellor, or rather, the new Emperor, raised his hands in the air.
Mon looked at Bail and said, "So this is how freedom dies and a cruel dictatorship begins, with thunderous applause. If Padmé had been here…"
Meanwhile, on Cad Bane's ship…
Padmé looked upon the holo programme that Cad Bane was showing her on a holotable on his ship, and had just seen Palpatine declaring the formation of the Empire.
She looked upon the scene and stated, "So this is how liberty dies, with thunderous applause."
And then, she heard Cad Bane say, "You are so right my lady, now get ready. You are going to be presented to Lord Vader shortly!"
Meanwhile, on Mustafar…
Even as Darth Vader approached Nute Gunray menacingly with a jump, the latter pleaded, "The war is over, Lord Sidious promised us peace. We only want…"
He was cut off even as Vader cruelly struck down the Neimodian across his chest before leaving him there and walking towards the controls to shut down the droids across the galaxy and thus end the clone wars.
Meanwhile, on Coruscant, in the central security station of the Jedi Temple…
Mace Windu turned to Yoda saying, "I've recalibrated the code warning all survivors to stay away from the Jedi temple."
Yoda replied, "For the clones to discover the recalibration, a long time it will take."
Mace then entered the main room of the security station and headed towards a security recording section.
As he approached the holotable, he said, "I want to see for myself what Anakin said was Vader."
He then turned on the recordings and adjusted the current time to the time of the attack.
And then, he saw it.
A man, hooded but face exposed, looking just like Anakin, but holding a blood red lightsaber, was fiercely cutting down Jedi Knights, Master, and Padawans all alike.
He then fast forwarded the recording to the part where Vader and Anakin had fought in the Council chambers and muttered, "So it is true. Palpatine did clone Anakin."
Upon fast forwarding again, he saw Vader kneeling before Palpatine who was saying, "Take her for yourself, break her, and kill Skywalker should he try to save her. Soon, Skywalker shall die and Amidala shall be yours."
Mace turned off the recording at once and turning to Yoda, he spoke, "This is horrible! If Vader finds out the senator's expecting, imagine what he'll do the child!"
Yoda looked at him and spoke firmly, "Feel I do, that confront this Darth Vader, Skywalker will. Destroy the Sith, we must."
Mace walked up to Yoda and said, "Master, send me to kill the Emperor. I bested him once, I can do it again."
"No," Yoda said, "To destroy Sidious, strong enough you are not. Bested him, you may have once, but nearly destroy you, he did. Strong enough to face him, Skywalker, also is not. Face him, I must."
Mace protested, "Master Yoda, we must do this together. Already, Kenobi and Ti have gone to help Anakin. You can't do this by yourself!"
Yoda declared, "Risk the future of the Jedi, I cannot. Do this myself, I must."
He then turned and walked away, with the help of his walking step.
Just as he had taken a few steps forward, he turned back towards Mace and said, "If, force willing, survive I do not, then lead the Jedi Order as Grandmaster, you must."
Mace looked at Yoda and said, "I will protect the Order with my life, but about Anakin, please Master Yoda, he must not be expelled. I have been wrong about him all these years! I…"
"Expelled," Yoda spoke, "Skywalker will not be. A true Jedi, he is. A Jedi Knight, he no longer shall be. Instead, a Jedi Master, he shall become."
Mace looked at Yoda gratefully and replied, "I'm sure Anakin will be a great master. Thank You."
Yoda looked at Mace for a few moments and then said, "Perhaps, time to change the rules, it is. Allowed, marriage shall be. Perhaps, the time has come once again, as, long ago, it did. A great Jedi, Skywalker has become. Perhaps, like his ancestor, Skywalker in the days of the old republic, he is."
Mace asked, "Are you referring to the Hero of Tython? The same one, the Outlander, Skywalker?"
Yoda replied, "Lost, much information was about him after fell to the dark side, Cartclar Thosias Skywalker did, but much information, did my master tell me about the Hero of Tython. If correctly, I remember, Abhimanyu Skywalker, his name was. Married a Sith he did. A very different, exceptional Sith she was."
He chuckled at that.
Mace looked at Yoda and asked, "Who could this Sith be?"
Yoda replied, "If correct I am, Lana Beniko Skywalker, his wife was. Did much to help the Jedi Order back then, she did. An honorary Jedi, she was honored as. Now go, I must, and return to the cruiser, you must."
Meanwhile, on Mustafar….
"You have done well, my apprentice," the hologram of Lord Sidious spoke, "Remember, break the senator, and make her yours. Do what you wish with her. I have sent Cad Bane to bring her to you. Contact him at once and inform him that you are ready for her."
"I will do so at once," Darth Vader replied after which Sidious nodded and ended the transmission.
He then entered a frequency and soon the hologram of Cad Bane materialized.
"Lord Vader," Cad Bane greeted, "What can I do for you? I am near the planet of Mustafar as I speak."
Vader spoke, "So you are Cad Bane."
"Yes My Lord," Cad Bane replied.
Vader ordered, "Bring the senator down on to the planet and wait on one of the landing platforms. I will meet you wherever you land."
"Got it," Cad Bane replied, "Cad Bane out."
With that, he ended the transmission.
Vader walked out of the control room and stood over a balcony overlooking a river of lava that flowed past and underneath the base.
Looking out into the dark skies of the volcanic planet, Vader smiled evilly.
"Soon," he thought, "Padmé shall be mine!"
