Lunchtime was nearing and Amanda was going square eyed. Olivia returned from her meeting and asked for any updates. Fin and Nick are still out talking to neighbours. CCTV has given us a few leads which Sonny is over there doing checks on cars, and I am going square eyed and feel a headache coming on she sighed as she squeezed her eyes closed and started to rub her temples. OK replied Olivia. Lunchtime guys come on you two we're leaving. I'll text Fin and Amaro and tell them to go get some food too, they must be starving by now. Carisi, Olivia and Amanda arrived at a little diner around the corner and sat down. Ok rule is no talk about the case. I'm down with that rule said Amanda, me too said Carisi. They sat talking about a few things, more about Carisi's family and his studies, talk turned to Noah and then Amanda. Carisi brought up the subject of her personal life again. So do you have anyone special yet Rollins? Carisi asked. Olivia looked at her and Amanda blushed. She cleared her throat and said, well actually I am seeing someone Sonny, but I don't want to say anything about it yet to jinx anything. It's still pretty early days and we're just seeing how things go she smiled. Oh, sorry he said, no, she said, you've nothing to be sorry about, I'm a private person anyway when it comes to my personal life, family and that she shrugged. Olivia cleared her throat and changed the subject. What about you Sonny? Have you anyone special in your life? Not at the minute he smiled, my night school is taking up a lot of my time, and this place so not much time for anything else. Amanda could see Sonny was wanting to ask Liv the same question, She looked at her and smiled, Olivia nodded her head smiling, what about you Liv? Amanda asked casually, you found someone or is Noah taking up your time? Olivia laughed and said, well actually I am seeing someone and Amanda faked surprise, Carisi's mouth opened, well I say seeing, we've been on a couple of dates, but like you Amanda, it's early days, so just seeing how things go too. Good said Amanda smiling, about time she said. Olivia laughed; I could say the same for you. Yeah, well what can I say, I'm fussy replied Amanda. What about Fin and Amaro? asked Sonny do they have partners? Amanda and Olivia looked at each other, I'm not sure to be honest with you Sonny said Olivia. I doubt Nick would, he's still getting over his messy divorce and Maria taking Zara up to LA, and then Gil moving up there too didn't help. Amanda smiled, but felt that knot in her stomach, yeah, he took it hard. The divorce came out of the blue, but Nick wasn't changing his mind. Fair play to him said Olivia, I'd be the same, yeah me too to be honest said Amanda so can't blame him. Can I ask what happened said Sonny cautiously, Amanda sighed heavily, and Olivia looked at her, well his ex-wife cheated on him she said, then took his daughter to live in DC, then moved to LA. It was a shock to all of us she said. Yeah said Amanda clearing her throat, best not mention anything to him though Sonny she said, he's just getting back to himself, I don't want to see angry Nick she said. Yeah said Olivia, he doesn't need that crap again, it's taken us long enough to get him back on track. Ok said Sonny, enough said, not a word. He excused himself and went to the bathroom. Olivia sighed, as did Amanda, who cleared her throat again and smiled at her. Wow said Olivia, I wasn't expecting that conversation she chuckled, maybe we should have talked about the case. Amanda chuckled, aw, he's going to find out sooner or later about Nick's past she sighed, I'll give him a heads up when all of this is over, she said, smiling sadly at her boss. I was shocked at you mentioning him too. Amanda smiled, well we both actually talked about telling him the other night she said, just him though, but Nick wanted to wait until this weekend is over before saying anything. Olivia looked at her confused, why wait till after this weekend? Amanda smiled again, well it's our 1 month anniversary this Friday she laughed, so he was wanting to wait till after that. Olivia smiled and said aww. yeah said Amanda, I've never marked anniversaries with anyone before she said, so I'm just going with it, it's exciting, well it was until this case she sighed. Olivia put her hand on hers, we'll get this closed before Friday she smiled. Amanda smiled back and said, let's hope so.
Carisi returned and said so are we sitting here a while longer or heading back? Olivia looked at her watch, I suppose we should head back she groaned, she reached for her bag to lift out her purse, as did Amanda, lunch is on me ladies he smiled, I've sorted it already, and they're just making up 3 coffees to go for us. I text Amaro to see if they wanted anything but they're only sitting down to eat now. Amanda and Olivia thanked him and hugged him. No problem guys. Thank you for the company he smiled.
It was coming up to 4pm and Nick and Fin still weren't back at the station, they had found a few leads while out talking to the neighbours so followed them up before getting lunch, then checked out a few other things. Olivia had sent Carisi and Amanda out to take the victim home from the hospital and to see if anything had been taken from the house.
Nick and Fin arrived back at the station just before 5pm. They told Olivia what they had found or come up with and they ran through a few different pieces of information. At 5.30 Carisi and Amanda returned and swapped information from the victim. All information exchanged and updated Amanda looked at the 2 men and said, guys, you two really need to go home and get some sleep. You both look terrible. Yeah, agreed Carisi, go home guys, there's not much more to be done here anyway. They both sighed, ok said Fin. Will you tell Liv? I'll tell her as soon as she's off the phone said Amanda. She walked over to Fin and hugged him and kissed his cheek, go on, off home and get some food and sleep. She then walked over to Nick, hugged him and kissed his cheek too. He squeezed her tightly, trust me she said as he released her again, you will both feel so much better after a good night's sleep in your own bed, she patted Nick's back smiling at him as she walked back towards her desk. Thanks guys he said. They both headed up to the bunk room for their bags that the girls had brought them this morning and returned to their desks to retrieve bits they wanted to take home. Fin said and you promise if you get this son of a bitch you will call us? Sonny walked over to him and said, of course we will, Fin shook his hand and gave him a quick hug and slap on the back, Ok night he said as he walked over, hugged Amanda from behind and kissed her head. You better phone us Rollins he warned. She laughed I will Fin I promise as she kissed his hand. Nick shook Sonny's hand and then followed Fin to hug Amanda from behind too. He kissed her temple and whispered in her ear, see you at home amor. Amanda held his hands and whispered see you soon and kissed his hand. He stood up and said his goodbyes.
Olivia returned to the squad room 10 minutes later, that was the chief on the phone wanting an update she sighed. Amanda looked at her and said, Liv we sent Fin and Nick home, they were exhausted. Olivia agreed, good she said, thank you she smiled. It was coming up to 6pm. You know what, let's all go home she said. We all need a break, and some sleep. And food, I need food mostly she said as Carisi laughed. And I need snuggles from Noah too she added, I just need to go home she went on. Amanda laughed, OK we get it Lieutenant you want to go home. Yes, I do Olivia laughed. As they grabbed their stuff Amanda shouted into her, don't forget your list. Oh, damn I nearly did again, thanks Rollins she shouted back. I need to run up to my locker and lift my change bag added Amanda. They said their goodbyes at their cars and drove home.
Amanda stopped off at a supermarket to buy some beer, and a few bits to make dinner. She walked around the homeware section and picked up a few bits that were on sale for the new house. She smiled. She then walked around the clothes sale section and found a few bits for herself, Nick and even Zara and Gil. Shopping done she headed home. She opened the door quietly and walked in. She put the kettle on and sat the groceries on the counter, she then walked back out to the car to bring in the rest of her buys. When finished she quietly walked into the bedroom to find a sleeping Nick. She smiled and went to the bathroom to get changed. She returned to the bedroom, lifted Nick's phone off his bedside table and walked back to the kitchen to make a start on dinner. Half an hour later she returned to the bedroom and climbed into the bed beside him. She snuggled up to him and kissed his shoulder, then his temple, and cheek. She felt him lace his hand in hers. Hey handsome she whispered. He sighed and turned around to see her face, he pulled her close with both arms and held her tightly kissing her head. Hey he said groggily. This feels good he said. Hmmm she said, it does. She lifted her head to meet his face, cupped her hand on his cheek and kissed him. He kissed her back and deepened the kiss moving his hand to her face and hungrily kissing her. As they broke away for air she said, dinners ready babe. He kissed her again and sighed. Thanks babe, I'm starving. They lay there for a few more minutes just cuddling when she felt herself getting sleepy. Right come on she said, before I fall asleep here too. He groaned. OK he said, they both got up and he put on some jogging bottoms and a t-shirt. When he walked out to the kitchen, she was just finishing plating up their food. He smiled at her; oh this smells amazing Amanda. She smiled, well after the long day you've had you need some proper food in you. They both sat down to eat and when finished she put the dishwasher on. She brought him another beer and joined him on the sofa. He put his arms around her and groaned. The sooner we get our cuddle couch the better he said. Yeah, she sighed, as she hugged him tighter and felt him kiss her head. They watched some telly and chatted about different things. Oh by the way Amanda said I forgot to tell you about my conversation with Carisi today. She went on to tell him what happened, what she and Olivia said, and he smiled. Ok he said, that gives us some more time for just us he smiled. He spotted one of the bags and said, Amanda what's those bags for? Oh, she said in surprise, I'd forgotten about those she laughed. I picked us a few bits up from the sale section tonight at the supermarket. He looked and said cautiously, OK. She got up and brought the bags over. Here she said, 2 double bed sets for Zara and Gil, and a kingsize set for us she said. He looked at them and laughed, matches the kid's rooms perfect he said, yeah, she smiled, and I liked the lemon and grey for us she smiled. That's what we should do in our room. He grinned and rubbed her back. Whatever you want mi querida. I also picked you up some more underwear for here, and some work trousers and shirts, you can keep here or spares in work. Got myself the same too she said as she handed him his stuff. He laughed, becoming a good little housewife, are we? he smirked. She playfully hit his arm and said, well if you don't want them I can take them back, no no he protested, I'm only joking, these are great he said, I need some new shirts to be honest. And these trousers are great. She smiled; you're not just saying that are you? No, he laughed, honestly, he said as he leant forward to kiss her, I really appreciate these and kissed her again. She smiled and blushed, I also picked up some clothes for Gil and Zara for here too. Just to have, seeing as you had a good clear out. He smiled, let's see then. She held them up and he grinned, Gil will love the PlayStation clothes he said, and Zara will go mad for the Unicorns. She smiled, good she sighed, I was worried you would say they wouldn't like them. He pulled her back towards him to lie on his chest. He kissed her cheek and said they will love them, I told you, you're already a great mum. She smiled and said, we're not having this conversation again Nick, and he chuckled, Ok, But it's true. She got up and put the bed sets back into the bags, and said, I'll go hang these in the wardrobe in the spare room she smiled. Ok he said, here, I'll take our clothes into our room. She grinned and bent down and kissed him again. Ok she whispered, then it's bedtime, you need your sleep. She went into the spare room and hung the clothes up, then went into her room. There she found Nick hanging up her clothes then moved over to his side and hung up his clothes. She smiled at the sight and her heart skipped a beat. She thought to herself, I'll never tire of this. He turned and saw her watching him and smiling. As she closed the door, he said what's got you smiling? Oh nothing she said, just watching you, you'd make a great house husband she giggled. Really? he said smirking, I thought we weren't having that conversation? No, we're not she said and walked over to him, but I'll never get tired of this. He rubbed his hands up and down her arms and pulled her in for a hug. He kissed her temple and said, neither will I my love, neither will I. She pecked his lips and then said OK, I'll go grab us some water and be back in a second. Ok he said, and he went to the bed. He climbed in and when she returned, he could feel himself get sleepy again. She smiled, put a bottle of water on his side then climbed into her side of the bed. He whispered come here mi amor when she got in, she snuggled over to him and he wrapped her arms around her. I never want to let you go he sighed, I don't want you to let me go, she whispered as she stroked his face. They both kissed each other on and off for a while, before sleep finally took over.
