The following morning Amanda got a call. She reached for the phone and saw it was Olivia. Rollins she groaned. She felt Nick's arms around her and him kissing her shoulder. Sorry Amanda said Liv, we've another victim. Ok she sighed, where are you? I'm about to leave for Mercy. Ok she said, I'll meet you there. She lay back down and lifted one of his hands up to her lips. I've gotta go baby. He sighed, another vic? Yeah she sighed as she turned to face him. He kissed her lips and said, I'll go. No, she said, you stay here, get another couple of hours sleep. What time is it? he asked. Just after 4 she said, kissing him again. I need a quick shower first though. She kissed him and got up. You go back to sleep I'll see you later. He reluctantly let go of her and she headed to the bathroom. He heard the shower running and turned over again. 5 minutes later she walked back into the room naked and he groaned. Amanda, babe, what are you trying to do to me? She laughed, well it's definitely not what I really want to do to you that's for sure she said teasingly. He groaned as he watched her put her underwear on, then her tight jeans and a jumper. Hey, she said, before you go back to sleep, will you lift me some spare underwear, and clothes to keep in my locker please before you leave later? He smiled, anything in particular you'd like me to pack. Just make sure it's suitable for work she said in her Georgian warning tone. Ok he sighed, she walked over towards him and kissed him passionately. Get some more sleep mi rei. He kissed her back and said, I will. I love you he smiled. I love you more she replied. One more kiss and she left him.
She arrived at the hospital and phoned Olivia. Hey Amanda Olivia answered, hey Liv, where are you? I'm just pulling into the car park she said, Oh, OK I'm in the waiting room so I'll hang here for you.
A few hours later Olivia and Amanda were sitting at the diner around the corner having a coffee waiting for their breakfast. Olivia got a text and Amanda's phone rang. Fin said Olivia, Nick laughed Amanda holding up her phone. We'll not get to run away I'll give them that Olivia laughed. Hey Nick answered Amanda, Hey babe he replied, where are you? Fin and I came in a bit earlier to meet you and Liv. She smiled, we're round the corner waiting for our breakfast, oh OK he said, we'll be there soon. 5 minutes later Nick and Fin arrived at their table. May we join you two lovely ladies? smirked Nick. Sure, said Olivia laughing. Fin sat beside Olivia and Nick sat in beside Amanda. He squeezed her leg as he sat down. She put her hand on his and laced their fingers. So, what's the news said Fin. Olivia brought them up to speed as Nick ordered something for him and Fin. He returned to holding Amanda's hand under the table and stroking it with his thumb. We're just waiting till 9.30 so we can get the CCTV footage said Amanda. Their food arrived and the four of them ate, talking about various things.
Oh by the way you two said Olivia, in case you panic, Carisi kind of knows that Amanda and I are dating someone but he doesn't know who she said. Yeah Amanda added, we told him it was early days, and we were just waiting to see how things go before we announce anything she smiled. Nick laughed, well I knew he knew about Amanda he said, but didn't know about you Liv he said looking at Amanda. Fin said well hopefully that settles him for a bit he said, means the 4 of you can enjoy your private time together before it's made public. Olivia laughed; I wish. This case has put a stop to any time together she said, I'm literally eating and sleeping. Amanda blushed and Nick cleared his throat smirking. Yeah, Amanda said, not much time being spent together here either she said smirking at Nick. Yeah, people keep phoning us during the night he joked. Olivia laughed, tell me about it. What, so none of you are getting any action at all? said Fin in surprise. The 3 of them looked at each other, wide eyed or mouth open. You are asked Nick? Hell yeah I am said Fin laughing, nothings getting in the way of me and my girl. Olivia nearly choked on air. Fin, I didn't even know you had a girl she said in surprise, Amanda laughed, me neither. Nick laughed, well he did mention something to me yesterday, but I couldn't get asking anymore he sighed. Fin chuckled, well like you lot, it's early days he said….. I wanted to get some of the action with this New Year new start pact you 4 have. They all laughed. So, are we getting to meet her? asked Amanda. Oh I don't know about that he said, it's still early days. They laughed, that's not fair, you've met our other halves protested Olivia. Well I've had no choice, you lot are keeping it in the family, I work with you guys. Another laugh filled the table. Do we at least know her? asked Nick. Well kind of he said quietly. It's Thompson from Narcotics. Look, give me another week or so to see how things go before we triple date. They laughed again. OK said Amanda. Just watch out then she said, as Carisi was asking us if you and Nick had anyone.
They all took another drink of their coffee and Fin then sighed, man, I can't believe you lot aren't getting any this week, no wonder you 3 have been stressed. Amanda and Liv looked at each other trying not to laugh. Nick chuckled, well it's been a bit hard he said… Oh I'm sure you have been man, joked Fin. FIN! Amanda and Olivia said. What? Said Fin, just stating a fact. Nick blushed and continued, either I've been called away or Amanda has, or we've been exhausted. Yeah said Olivia, throw a sick kid into that mix and it's just a no go for me. Well at least we know what we're letting ourselves in for then chuckled Amanda. You'll find that out soon too Fin. Hush now Amanda, don't spoil my fun. Olivia laughed, well our fun is getting spoiled so why not?
The bill arrived and Fin insisted on paying. Hey, you 3 need cheering up in some way he said, this is all I can do, you'll have to sort yourselves out in other ways. Amanda cringed and Olivia playfully hit him. Nick just smirked. I'm not saying a word he said, I'll get into trouble somehow. Yeah you keep it that way said Amanda, or you'll be sorting yourself for a long time. He pretended to look hurt as Olivia laughed, I'm saying nothing.
The 4 of them left the diner and walked to the station. Olivia linking Fin's arm, and Amanda linking Nick's. As they entered the elevator Olivia said You know we need to do this more often, even though Amanda and I have been at it since this morning I really enjoyed breakfast. We haven't even been able to have a laugh during this case she said sadly. Yeah said Amanda smiling, me too. She smiled at Fin and took his hand as Nick put his arms around Olivia and Amanda and kissed them both on their temples. Yeah, he sighed, more family time together he smiled. Absolutely agreed Fin. They walked out of the elevator Amanda now linking Fin and his arm around her, Olivia linking Nick. Ok they said, let's get back to work.
An hour later Fin and Nick were out in the car on their way to pick up the CCTV footage. Benson, Amanda and Carisi were back at the station going through some witness statements. Nick driving, Fin turned to him and said, hey man, I hope you know I was only jokin around earlier about not gettin some. Nick laughed, hey man, don't worry, I know you were only joking, and so do the girls. We're just jealous he laughed. Fin sighed, but seriously, you not getting anything man? That's tough. Nick sighed, well yeah, I'll admit, it's been tough, especially as the kids were here at the weekend too, but it's something we'll have to get used to I guess he sighed. Yeah said Fin, but still man, even a tug or a feel would be nice I'm sure. Nick laughed, yeah, either would be nice, but honestly, we've both been that tired man he shook his head sighing. You been together every night? Fin asked. Yeah Nick smiled, not that it's got us anywhere he chuckled, but just being with her will do me, he smiled again. Anyway, enough about me and Rollins he said smiling, what about you and Thompson? How long has that been going on for? It was Fin's turn to blush, coming up 2 weeks he said. Look I would have told you guys sooner, but this case got in the way. Hey, said Nick, look I understand Fin. You want to see how things go and enjoy your time just you and her to yourselves for a bit, he smiled. I get it. Fin chuckled, yeah, I know you do. So, Nick carried on, how did it happen? Well Fin said, she actually lives in my building he said. She moved in just after the New Year and I gave her a hand with some furniture. It just went from there he said. Nick smiled, I'm happy for you Fin he said. And I'm also very jealous of you too he added. Yeah, I'm getting some and you ain't teased Fin. How you've got the energy said Nick I don't know Fin he sighed. Hey man said Fin, you have had a busy week, the kids at the weekend, introducing them properly to Rollins, then we're stuck into a tough case, you need time to catch up on sleep and relax. Nick sighed, yeah I wish. At least we're off on Sunday he said. Yeah, this is our last weekend working together said Fin. Nick smiled, oh yeah I'd forgotten about that. Amanda will enjoy her weekend off said Fin, Nick smiled, I'm sure she will.
They picked up the CCTV footage and headed back to the station. When they got there, they found Rollins and Carisi on the phone to possible witnesses, and Benson no-where to be found. The 2 men headed to the briefing area and Nick started to load the CCTV. Amanda walked over to them both and put an arm around each of their shoulders Hi you two she smiled. Hey you said Nick smiling, Hey Amanda smiled Fin. Hey, by the way, I hope I didn't offend you earlier when I was joking around. Amanda chuckled and put her arms around Fin. Don't be silly Fin she laughed; we know you were joking. Us 3 are just jealous of you she said, looking at Nick smiling. He smiled back saying, yeah, I told him that too he chuckled. Stop worrying man he said and patted his shoulder. Amanda was still draped over Fin's shoulders and he was holding her hands. Thanks, you two he said. Amanda laughed, hey, I'm just jealous that you have found the time and energy to do something other than eat and sleep she said as she stood up and walked to Nick. She rested her hands on his shoulders now as Fin said, well as I pointed out to Nick, you two had 2 kids to deal with and a whole new scenario before this case. Nick lifted his hand onto one of Amanda's yeah, she said smiling, we've had a very busy week she sighed. I'm just hoping I get this weekend off still. Nick lifted her hand and kissed it, you will he said, and Fin stood up and gave her a hug. Yeah, we'll make sure you and Liv do. She hugged him tight as he kissed her head. Just at that Nick stood up and said, good morning Chief. Morning guys he replied, everything OK? He was looking at Fin and Amanda breaking their hug. Yeah Chief said Fin, Rollins here is just tired he said, Nick standing beside her said, yeah her and the Lieutenant have been at it early this morning, we're all starting to feel the effects of this one. Chief Dodds looked at them all, no offence guys, but I can see that in you 3. You all look terrible. The 3 of them chuckled, thanks Chief. Sorry he said again, no we know we do said Fin, hopefully we get this SOB soon so we can all get a decent nights sleep. I hope so too said the Chief. That's why I'm here actually to see if you guys need any more help and see where you are in the case. Where's Lieutenant Benson? Oh, said Amanda, I'm going to go check on her now actually. She wasn't feeling too well so she went to the ladies. Nick and Fin looked at her with concern, Amanda added, no don't worry, she just thinks it's tiredness, what with Noah not being 100% yet and the case, she just went to freshen up. All 3 men looked at her and she put a hand on Nick and Fin's arms and rubbed them. She's OK guys honestly, she said smiling, I'll go check on her now. She walked away and the chief stopped her. Are you sure you're OK Rollins? Amanda smiled and put her hand on his arm too. Yes, I am she said. Thank you Chief, I'm just really tired she laughed. I'll go get the Lieutenant. She walked off to the ladies' room as Chief Dodds turned again to Nick and Fin. Are those two really OK? he asked. Nick smiled, yeah, they are Chief. We're all just tired. He asked Nick who had been working and when, and Fin said we tried to keep the Lieutenant at home as much as we could cause of the little guy, so the 4 of us split the shifts between us. But Benson insisted she got the next call. Dodds smiled, I admire the way you all look out for each other he smiled, Fin sighed, well I'd like to think it happens with the other shifts too and at other Precincts Chief, a little bit of respect and consideration for other colleagues isn't hard. Dodds smiled, you are 100% right Fin.
Amanda returned to them a few minutes later with Liv beside her. Nick and Fin took a look at the two women and noticed just how tired they looked. Sorry Chief, Benson started, no need to apologise Olivia said Dodds, I know you're all feeling this one. They sat down at the briefing table and brought him up to date with the latest.
After 15 minutes he said OK well, I can see why you're stuck on this one, I honestly can't even think of a suggestion to help you out he sighed. There are no connections, no similarities between the victims, no nothing he said annoyed. Well as long as we know we aren't missing something said Nick. That makes me feel slightly better. The Chief told them that he had asked other precincts to keep the ear to the ground and if they had any similar cases to let him know, so far that's drew a blank to he sighed again. He looked up and smiled, but now I think it's time for these 2 ladies to go and get some shut eye, nodding towards Amanda and Nick, then Carisi and Olivia. Nick looked down at her and Fin laughed. Nick started to apologise, sorry Chief he blushed, I just thought she was leaning against me, I didn't even think to look to check on her. Sonny then said, yeah, the Lieutenant went quiet awful quick I thought it was odd that she put her head on my shoulder. He was red with embarrassment. The chief chuckled and said, how long have they been going today? Nick looked at his watch, well they've been up and out since around 4am. The Chief hissed, and it's now 11.45 he said. That's nearly a full shift already and it's not even mid-day. Ok said Fin, let's help these 2 up to the bunk room Nick. He got up and walked over to Olivia, gently lifted her in his arms and whispered, Carisi you go get the door for us, as Nick manoeuvred himself gently to put his arm around Amanda. The Chief walked over and helped him get Amanda into his arms, and he carried her up. Fin gently put Olivia into one bed and took her shoes off. As Nick put Amanda into another, he done the same. As Carisi went back downstairs, Fin left the room again saying I'll speak to the chief, Nick pulled the blanket over Amanda, run his hand through her hair and kissed her forehead then followed Fin out the door.
