Chapter 7

POV: Jonansions

I was traveling through a swamp while it was raining, really wish I still had my riptide enchanted trident right now. I did find a lot of good stuff though and even was able to put some enchantments on my armor, my boots have frost walker now which helps a lot when traveling through a swamp. I actually don't mind the rain though; I really love whenever it rains actually as-Is that a Ghast?

I look over to my right and in the sky's is a freaking Ghast...what is a Ghast doing all the way out here? Those things only spawn in the Nether, unless someone left an active Nether Portal somewhere around then I have no idea how this Ghast is out here. I decide to Ignore it and continue on my way back home when I heard the sound of a Ghast scream and then look over to see a Ghast blast being fired in my direction! I quickly take out my sword and wait till it's close enough to bat the blast right back in the direction of the Ghast, the ghast lets out a cry of pain after it gets hit by its own blast before...this is new. The Ghast then starts firing multiple shots after the other and in different directions at me, I dodge around most while batting away the one's that get too close as I start making a run for it, I've never seen a Ghast do this before.

I jump on a patch of land and look for the Ghast...only for it to not be seen anymore? I look around and think I lost it before a Ghast blast fly's right out of the swamp water catching me off guard and hit's me right in the chest blasting me a few feet back with a small explosion, thank goodness for my armor. I get up and notice the Ghast rising out of the water...this Ghast was actually underwater and surprise attacked me, this is defiantly not normal behavior for Ghast's, they're not normally this tactical. The Ghast starts firing a barrage of blasts at me again but this time I've had enough as I get out my crossbow and start firing off arrows at it while I dodge its attacks. Finally, after batting one last blast back at its face I finally knock the Ghast out of the sky and defeat it.

That was...Strange, like I said it weird that a Ghast was out here in the first place but it was also weird the way it was acting. I Ignore this for now and decide to focus on it more after I head home so I continue on my way. I did notice a Samon in the water while I was leaving and while it's weird to see one in a swamp, I pay it no mind as I continue onwards, really wish I got a Ghast tear from that but it didn't drop any. After some more traveling through the rain and swamp lands I make it to a hill that leads out of the swamp lands and start climbing up it.

I get to the top when Suddenly I'm knocked back down by something and land back on the ground with a thud! I look up to see a...Ravager? I quickly look around but see no Illigers...but Ravager's always are accompanied by Illigers, where are they?! I don't have time to think on that as the Ravager jumps down trying to crush me with its body weight so I jump back quickly as I avoid it and take out my Sword and Sheild, I block its charge with my shield and swing at it with my sword but then it uses its momentum and head on my shield to flip me over its head and then once I land on the ground it slams into me with another charge and knocks me farther back as I get mud on me.

What the heck is this?! Ravagers don't fight like this, first that Ghast and now this? I decide to take this more seriously and I switch my shield for my axe as the Ravager charges me again but this time I jump to its side and slash it and the dodge it's attempt to hit me as I keep dodging and hitting it from the sides as Ravager's don't have the best mobility when it comes to quick turns. It finally ends up giving out and collapses into the swamp, I pant a bit as I wonder what they heck just happened?! I can't think on all this now though because I still need to get home so I climb up the cliff again and continue my travels back as I noticed a Parrot flying by.

I make my way to a grassy field as I'm almost back to the area where my house is when out of the corner of my vision, I see a fireball heading towards me as I swiftly pull out my shield to block it! I then see...Oh come on, I see a freaking Blaze! I'm not going to question this for now though as the Blaze starts flying in circles around me while unleashing fire balls on me. I block as many as I can while trying to hit the blaze with my crossbow but it's harder to do than with a Ghast since Blaze's are smaller and faster by comparison and this one is actually dodging my arrows. I get an Idea and I charge the Blaze and right as it flies up to avoid me, I splash it with a potion that I had found in my travels, this potion was a potion of slowness and with the Blaze slowed I unleash fast sword attacks on it finishing it off in a puff of smoke. Seriously, Blaze's definitely shouldn't be here, what was going on?!

I continue my walk back after watching a Fox run past me as I ponder this all, these can't be coincidence, all these mobs that shouldn't be here show up to attack me and don't act like they normally do? Something's going on, my thoughts are put on pause as I finally arrive back at my place. I give Buddy a head pat and an apple and then head inside, I then take quick stock of everything I've collected for my trip to the nether now, I've got my enchanted Dimond armor now as well as my Netherite sword that I've also enchanted and then the things that will be the most helpful. I've managed to collect some very useful potions with specifically fire-resistant ones that will be my biggest help once I'm in the nether. I felt a little proud of myself, to have made it this far and now I'm about to venture into the nether, I'm almost there.

However, while I'm looking through my Chests and getting ready for my Nether trip, I notice a book that wasn't there before...It's signed "Howdy" on the cover? I take the book out and open it out of curiosity and I read the following, "That was fun, can't wait till we meet truly face to face, I will prove I am the better one. Love Doppelganger, P.S Thx for the trident."

Wait what? This guy took my trident?! I have no idea who Doppelganger is or how they got my trident but they talked about having fun earlier...this is something I'll have to look into more. Something tells me that this Doppelganger is going to be more trouble than I would like later. Also, that name, why Doppelganger? Questions for later I suppose, for now I have more Important things to focus my attention on. Whoever this Doppelganger is...I will say a part of me is curious to meet them for some reason.

Perspective Shift

POV: Doppelganger

I stand atop a snowy hill as night fell and watched Jonansions from afar. It appeared he was finally heading to bed, my initial attacks against him as mobs were an Idea I had to start with by testing him. I believe I have a good idea of his capability's now and next time we fight I'm going to do it as myself and I'll finally beat him! But first I'm going to get to the nether before him and see if I can get some of the good stuff there before he can. Shouldn't be too hard, I just need to light the Nether portal he already completed, I can turn into a blaze really quick to do so as well.

With that thought I then focus as once again I feel my body shift as I become smaller, lighter and also form wings. With a shriek I then take to the skies as a Phantom mob. Just you wait Jonansions, soon enough we will have our final confrontation and I will prove my superiority once and for all in it, for now though I fly off into the night.
