A/N: YO, it's me, and finally I'm back again with another story for y'all and today...this one will be a bit different, so I was just being bored as usual so I decided to read the Sloth if story, and after reading the sloth if story and idea came to mind that I wanted to write a sloth If fanfic, now after checking around on this site it has come to my knowledge that...there's barely any Sloth if fics out there which is obviously a sin and a tragedy so I guess I'll do it myself...but before we proceed this one will have...more adult content in it...now I know my previous story I just did already had some of that in it but I can't help it my writing won't allow me to write anything else at the moment! But don't worry this one won't be as heavy as the other ones in that aspect I promise as this is somewhat of a depressing/comfort story as It's about Subaru basically wanting to move on from his past,the only reason I'm adding "adult content" In this one is because it will relate to the plot in this story about moving on and such,so It won't be adding adult content just for the sake of it but instead it will have a purpose,like the saying "smut without plot and plot with smut" this will be the latter lol, so the adult content In this one will be toned down a bit,just some very light hearted stuff In this one,anyways even though there won't be a lot of it, that's your warning as usual so if you don't like that type of content click off,and also with this story in particular I will try to be as lore friendly as possible when it comes to the sloth if so characters such as Halibel,tia etc will be here so hopefully this story doesn't come off too much as crack lol, and finally another small warning i haven't written in a while so i might be a tad bit rusty at this whole writing thing but that's just a minor issue, I don't really think people expect much from my writing so I'll just write anyways!, and with that rambling out of the way I hope you enjoy this little short story as a present from me!
Looking to the future

[?: "Wake up Subaru!"]

[?: "Subaru wake up"]
[Subaru: "Huh?"]
As a voice called out to him, bit by bit Subaru slowly began opening his eyes as the bright light of daylight hit his eyes, slowly but surely he began to awaken. "Why am I outside?" As Subaru said this, he realized something, he was lying on the ground surrounded by flowers.
Looking up towards the blue sky Subaru realized he wasn't In any ordinary place, he was In a field covered in flowers.
[Subaru: "What Is this place?"]
Leaning upwards off the flowery bed of the ground, Subaru looked around and noticed this was the same place he took Emilia out on a date. "Why am I here?" Subaru thought confused as he looked around, still laying on the flower bed.
[?: "Ah Subaru you're finally awake]
Looking over beside him to where his name was called, his eyes were met with a bright shining silver. Standing In front of him was a girl, a beautiful girl, a girl bathed in purple and white, a girl whose smile shined the brightest, a girl he knew all too well.
[Subaru: "E-Emilia-tan?"]
[Emilia: "Jeez why'd you take such a long nap, I was waiting on you"]
[Subaru: "Waiting on me for what?"]
[Emilia: "You're so silly Subaru, our date, remember? you said you would take me here.]
[Subaru: "I see... well My bad then for having you wait, but at least I was able to wake up to such a beautiful angel]
[Emilia: "And there you go saying weird things like that again"]
[Subaru: "My bad My bad, I got carried away again, I just couldn't help it, anyways while here, what do you want to do?"]
At his thought, the girl just gave him a bright smile and extended her hand out towards him, gesturing for him to take It. Taking the hint, Subaru grasps her hand while Emilia pulls him along, running through the flowery field. "Wow she's being really forceful today, that's surprising," Subaru thought as Emilia took the lead and dragged him along through the field, usually it would be him doing all the work on their dates.
As Emilia continued to run with Subaru through the flowery field, Emilia took a stop, halting them, and as they stopped Emilia let go of his hand.
[Subaru: "Emilia-tan, why did we stop?"]
Subaru asked confusedly but got no response as the girl before him kept her face forward not looking back at him.
[Subaru: "Emilia-tan?"]
Subaru asked again but to no avail as she still didn't respond to her name. Walking a bit closer to see if she was alright, Subaru tried reaching his arm out to touch her shoulder but In the corner of his eye, he could see Emilia started to cry.
Now getting worried If something happened, Subaru finally got up behind her and put his hand on her shoulder, "are you alright Emilia-tan?" Subaru said.
[Emilia: "Why"]
[Subaru: "why what Emilia-tan?"]
[Emilia: "Why"]
"..."
Slowly she started to turn around with full-blown tears in her eyes, which for some reason, shook him to his very core.
[Emilia: "Why did you make me die?"]
[Subaru: "...Eh?]
Surprised by this question Subaru took his hand off her shoulder and backed off a bit, now face to face with the girl before him.
[Subaru: "Wh-what do you mean Emilia-tan?, everything is alright]
Walking closer to him, she repeated her question.
[Emilia: "Why did you make me die?"]
[Subaru: "E-emilia-tan...I don't know what you're talking about, please you're fine] Subaru now started to shake
[Emilia: "Why did you make me die?"]
She began to walk closer to him, still repeating her same chant like a broken record.
[Subaru: "E-emilia-tan,...please it wasn't my fault..I swear] his voice started to break
Getting closer to him, now directly in front of his face with full-blown tears in her eyes, darkening her once beautiful pupils, she started getting louder, shaking him to his very core.
[Emilia: "WHY!"]
[Subaru: E-emili-tan...please I'm sorry ..."] Subaru's eyes started to get wet
[Emilia: "WHY!]
[Subaru: "I'm so so so sorry, I didn't mean for this to happen!]
Now crying, Subaru got into the fetal position, covering his ears while he lay on the ground but her screams of agony couldn't leave his head as she screamed on like a broken record without stop, and with each time she screamed, and each time she yelled the very sky itself would darken and ground which held all the flowers started to shrivel, turning the once beautiful landscape Into a former shell of what it used to be.
[Emilia: "WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY!WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY!WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY!WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY!WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY!WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY!"]
[Subaru: "PLEASE STOP, I'M SO SORRY,IT WASN'T MY FAULT PLEASE FORGIVE ME!]

[Subaru: "...All I ever wanted to do was to save you…]
A tear slid down his face as he said this, and after a while, her screams of pain stopped and she went still. After a few more seconds had passed, some words escaped her lips and she began chanting something else.
[Emilia: "Subaru wake up"]
"..."
Subaru: "Eh…"]
[Emilia: "Subaru, Wake up!"]
soon enough his body began to sink into the ground as the flowers around him started pulling him in, sinking deep within the ground.
[Subaru: "I-I...can't breath"]
[Subaru: "E-Emilia..]
Slowly but surely he was pulled deep within the ground and soon enough his eyes began to close.

[Subaru: AHHHH!]
[Rem: "What's going on?"]
Rem said, still rubbing her still asleep eye, being awoken by a loud scream, as she turned around to where the source of the screams could be heard, and to her fear, the screams of pain came from her beloved husband.
[Subaru: "PLEASE STOP, IT'S NOT MY FAULT, IT'S NOT MY FAULT, I'M SO SORRY"]
[Rem: "Subaru!']
Seeing Subaru flailing around, screaming in his sleep, Rem jumped on him and hugged him into her chest, caressing his hair trying to comfort him. "Everything will be alright, you'll be fine, calm down please" after a while of caressing his hair, he finally began to calm down again in his sleep. Seeing that Subaru was now fast asleep, Rem looked down at the sleeping boy with sadness in her eyes.
[Rem: "I don't know how much more Rem's heart can take of this]
Saying this while putting a hand up to her heart, closing her eyes again, joining Subaru as they both drifted back off to sleep.

As the sun shun down, entering through one of the windows of the little house in the town of Kararagi, a particular black-haired boy layed. As the sun hit his eye Subaru took note of the time getting up out of bed while yawning. Looking over beside him he noticed Rem was no longer in bed with him. "Must have overslept again" Subaru thought before getting out of bed.
As Subaru gets out of bed he then goes over to one of the nearby windows in his room and looks out at the sky. Noticing how the sun was still high in the sky, Subaru gives a deep sigh of relief that he didn't sleep away the day again.
[Subaru: heh,thankfully I didn't oversleep again or else Rem would have gotten really upset at me again]
While rubbing the back of his head in worry with a slight sweat on his cheek Subaru Recalled back to what happened the last time he overslept, Rem was very upset with him and didn't allow him to give her headpats or stroke her hair, even though she quickly retracted that in a matter of seconds instantly jumping into his arms.
With a light chuckle of the memory, Subaru stretches a bit before going over to one of the nearby closets and pulls out a fresh new kimono ready to start his day once again. Walking outside of the room with a slight yawn Subaru's attention was then brought to a sweet smell coming from the nearby kitchen.
Following where the lovely smell was coming from, In the distance, Subaru spotted the blue-haired maiden and his lovely wife Rem cooking up something while humming a song. As he continued to walk closer to her a sharp creaking sound was made on the wooden floorboard, alerting the blue-haired girl of his presence. Turning around behind her, she then gave Subaru her usual bright smile that she gave him every morning before gesturing with her hand for him to come in.
[Rem: dear you're finally awake, please come in and take a seat]
With this Subaru walks towards the kitchen and takes a seat at the dining table. As Subaru sits down he starts resting his head on the table still half asleep from last night, rubbing the last bit of sleep from his eyes Rem came in also with two plates of food In hand and set them on the table while also taking a seat right next to Subaru.
Looking down at the plate of food that was set in front of him it was scrambled eggs with one piece of toast with a side of his favorite mayonnaise. After looking down at his plate he could see Rem looking towards him with anticipation on her face, seeing as though Rem was waiting on him to try it, Subaru did just that and took a bite.
[Subaru: mmmmh, you treat me so well dear, you always make the best meals!]
As he said this Rem grew a slight blush across her face in which she smiled at him
[Rem: Yes If it's for you dear, Rem is happy to cook like this for you every day,a-and if you liked it so much feel free to praise Rem!]
With this Rem put her head down and waited, seeing what she wanted Subaru chuckled a bit to himself before brushing his hand across her long blue hair giving it a few long strokes. Even though this was a norm for Subaru by now he still always found it somewhat funny how Rem still wanted so much praise from him.
After giving Rem her usual praise, Subaru looked around and noticed something.
[Subaru: anyways where's that brat of a son, by now he'd be screaming down the house]
[Rem: Oh Rigel, Rem had already packed his lunch for him and sent him off to school]
[subaru: Heh that kid is too spoiled for his own good, when I went to school my father would wrestle me every morning in my sleep]
[Rem: Subaru-Kun doesn't really talk about his past that much so it's always lovely to hear more about what you did before coming here]
As she said this Subaru wore somewhat of a bittersweet smile across his face
[Subaru: yeah it doesn't really bring back the best of memories…but If my parents were here they would have just loved to have met Rigel, I knew my mom always wanted a grandson…sadly I couldn't give it to her before I left]
With a somewhat sad look on his face, Subaru tries to brush it off with his casual "It's alright though", being his wife though for the past 8 years Rem knew when something was bothering him. Reaching out her hand out to him she places it on the side of his cheek, cupping his cheek with her delegate fingers.
[Rem: I'm sure wherever Subaru-Kun's parents are they would have loved Rigel very much and would have been very proud of you for who you are today]
[Subaru: yeah…]
With this Subaru finishes the rest of his meal and puts the dirty dishes in the sink, after finishing he gets all his stuff together and heads towards the door.
[Subaru: Well Rem I'm off, I'll see you later today alright?]
[Rem: alright dear, have a good day at work] with a smile Rem waves Subaru off to work
[Subaru: I will!]
As Subaru is about to leave the house, Rem's voice calls out to him.
[Rem: dear, aren't you forgetting something?]
Looking back at her, Rem had a small blush on her face while twirling her fingers. Subaru knew exactly what she wanted, walking back up to her and putting his hands on her waist to bring her close. Subaru looks straight into both her loving blue eyes before giving her a slight yet loving kiss to her soft lips. As they parted after the quick kiss, Subaru walked back to the door opening it before finally walking out.
[Rem: remember to be safe out there, and don't cause any mischief alright!]
[Subaru: I will!]
With one final wave of goodbye to his wife, Subaru leaves his home out into the streets of Kararagi.
[Subaru: Alright World, what do you have in store for Natsuki Subaru today!]
Saying this while pointing his finger to the sky doing his signature pose, Subaru then begins his walk out into the streets of Banan ready to go to his workplace for the day.
While on his walk to work the people he would pass by would wave and smile at him.
[?: good morning Subaru-sama!]
[?: have a good day at work today Mr. Natsuki!]
[Subaru: yeah…thanks!]
Subaru said with a smile, for the next few minutes of his walk to work he would be greeted the same way by the people of the city, always waving and smiling at him, In which he would always return the favor with his own smile in return.
[Subaru: the people here really are nice aren't they?]
Although everywhere Subaru went he was greeted with the usual smile from the people of the city, It wasn't as if the people of kararagi were nicer than anywhere else in the world, It's just that over the past years Subaru had become one of the most if not the most popular person in the whole of Kararagi as he did save Kararagi a few times already in the past, even being called a hero by some…even though Subaru was too dense himself to realize this.
As Subaru continued to walk on the path to his workplace, admiring the beautiful scenery of the city as he walked by a voice called out to him, a voice he knew all too well…
[?: Oi Su-san, Su-san!]
Knowing who the voice belonged to Subaru started to walk a little bit faster, as the person who was calling his name was a person he knew all too well that was about to make his day a lot tougher than it needed to be.
[?: Will you wait up, will ya?!]
In an instant, Subaru, who was walking as fast as he could, was instantly halted by an arm that wrapped around his shoulder pulling him close, a large furry arm that belonged to one of Subaru's closest friends.
Turning to him, Subaru greets him.
[Subaru: hey Hal] Subaru said
[Halibel: good day Su-san, off to work again I see?]
[Subaru: Well as the man of the house I have to provide for my family somehow, but shouldn't you be going off to work too or doing that ninja stuff or whatever you do?]
Subaru asked casually which made the wolfman smirk.
[Halibel: come on Su-san, I thought you knew me better than that, you know I don't have time for jobs, especially since my kind is already on the brink of extinction, meaning I must live my life without any distractions]
[Subaru: that's just an excuse for you to be lazy!] Subaru shouted
With a little "ha!" Halibel then reached into his Kimono and pulled out a large pipe from which he took a puff,making Subaru's nose scrunch a bit from the smell. Waving some of the smoke that got In his face, Subaru retorted.
[Subaru: You know Hal, for a guy who's so hellbent on preserving his kind you seem very eager to smoke alot]
Hearing this Halibel slyly rubbed his chin, and took another puff from his pipe.
[Halibel: It warms my heart to hear you worry about me, but don't worry Su-san…this isn't tabaco…]
[Subaru: yeah right, anyways I don't mind you smoking around me, but just don't do It around Rem, you know how she is.]
[Halibel: what Is Rem-san pregnant again or what?]
With Halibels questioning, Subaru grew a blush and started to cover his face In embarrassment.
[Subaru: N-no nothing like that! Although…Rem and I are planning for another pregnancy soon…]
[Halibel: I see, well I'm happy for you Su, Rem-san really is amazing]
[Subaru: Yeah…hopefully the next one we have won't be like Rigel, Another me is more than enough...]
Subaru said rubbing his face somewhat in worry, of course In reality he didn't really mind having another son, but Rem had always talked about wanting to have a daughter as well since she wanted to keep her sister Ram in mind, so Subaru went along with her wishes.
[Halibel: Well Su-san I wish the best for you] Halibel said giving Subaru a big pat on the shoulder
[Subaru: thanks ha-]
[Halibel: Oh look we're already here]
As the two continued to walk, they finally reached their destination. It was a beautiful mansion-like estate that was enclosed by large silver gates with a few guards on standby, a place built for the wealthy, and surprisingly this was the estate Subaru worked at as a personal butler, which was quite ironic to him.
[Subaru: Time flies by huh? Well Hal gotta go, see ya later alright?]
Subaru said, waving Halibel goodbye as he walked up to the large gates of the estate. As he got closer to the gates one of the estate guards noticed Subaru and gave him the green light to enter, opening the shiny silver gates for him to go through.
Before Subaru was about to enter, Halibel called out to him one final time making Subaru turn around.
[Halibel: OH and Su-san while you're there, grab one of them expensive-looking alcohols for me will ya?] Halibel said with a grin while casually rubbing his furry chin.
[Subaru: you're really asking me to rob my own boss, what kind of disloyal servant do you take me for? Guards, whatever you don't let that suspicious-looking man inside at any cost alright?]
Subaru said in which one of the guards gave a slight nod to his order.
Turning his back to Halibel and Walking away deeper into the estate with a sly smile, Halibel started to ramble, which Subaru ignored.
[Halibel: come on Su-san don't be like that, aren't we friends!?]
As Halibel continued to ramble like a madman on how the way Subaru was treating him, Subaru casually walked away, finally reaching the mansion's main doorway. Going up to the large doors, Subaru reached out and knocked a few times on the encrusted silver handle. Waiting a few minutes outside, someone finally answered.
looking towards the person who opened the door for him It was another one of the helpers who worked at the estate, a middle-aged lady around her mid 40's, and by the looks of it, seemed quite happy to see him with the smile she gave him, welcoming him inside.
Passing the women on the way inside who greeted him at the door, Walking inside the manor, Subaru begins to go through the hallways of the large building to do his daily chores as a butler such as cleaning the floors, cleaning his master's clothing, or whatever work needed to be done around the manor.
Before Subaru was able to get to work the woman who greeted him at the entrance suddenly cut him off then turned to him, looking at him with a somewhat sly smile. Having worked at this place and with this woman for the past few years now Subaru knew exactly what she was up to.
[Maid: Mr. Natsuki, where are you going in such a hurry?, why don't take a seat and relax for a bit before starting your work?] the woman offered with a smile In which Subaru simply and calmly shook his head.
[Subaru: No thanks, I already got a good night's rest before coming here, but thank you for the offer anyways]
Saying this, Subaru then walks past the woman and continues onto where he planned to go. Seeing Subaru pass by her without a second thought she then grew a very displeased look on her face.
Just before Subaru was about to leave she quickly went up to him and put her hand on his shoulder making Subaru turn to face her.
[Maid: but Mr. Natsuki, you surely must be somewhat tired from coming all this way, why don't I get you a cup of tea or something from the pantry?]
She offered once again but Subaru, with his usual calm smile, quickly denied again.
[Subaru: I'm alright, this morning my wife already cooked for me, but thanks for the offer]
Subaru said with a smile, shutting down her advances once again as continued to walk off again leaving the woman behind who started to grow very agitated, especially at the words of his wife whom she despised. Although she could admit that Natsuki Rem was a very beautiful woman she, however, didn't like how she "intervened" with her plans to get with Subaru when she first met her at the master's party, she also didn't like how everyone would stare at her when she walked by like she was the most beautiful woman they set their eyes on.
With one last-ditch effort the maid went up behind Subaru and wrapped her arms around him,and with somewhat of a seductive tone whispered In his ear.
[Maid: But Mr. Natsuki…why don't you spend some time with me, I'm sure I can make It worth your while~]
As she said this Subaru quite gently got out of her hold surprising the maid, and with a calm look In his eye, Subaru stated.
[Subaru: I'm sorry but… I love my wife, she's the light of my life, I would never do anything to hurt her…I hope you can understand]
Saying this, Subaru then turned around and continued on his walk down the corridors of the manor, leaving the maid In utter shock as she stood there In silence watching him walk away.
"Rem's going to be really upset when she finds out about this" Subaru thought with a sigh while rubbing the back of his head in worry at the thought of what his wife might do. Of course, he knew some of the maids at the manor had an interest in him ever since he started working at the manor but eventually, most of them gave up at least once they realized he was already married.
Putting his worries off to the side, Subaru then decided It was about time to get to work so he did exactly that.
[Subaru: Well I've wasted enough time as it is, It's time for Natsuki Subaru to get to work!]
With this new goal in mind and newfound confidence building up within himself, Subaru then spent the next few hours or so working hard and putting his skills to the test going about the entire mansion doing whatever he could, cleaning vases, fixing bedrooms, cleaning clothes, and washing bathrooms, nothing went untouched under his watchful eye.
[Subaru: phew,that took longer than expected]
Subaru said while whipping a bit of sweat off his forehead. Of course, he wasn't the best at his job, many people who worked alongside him were more skilled and efficient than him, but Rem was able to teach him a few things so he was able to barely get by his job.
[Subaru: Well then since everything looks about cleaned, I guess it's time for a well-deserved break!]
Saying this Subaru then began to traverse the entirety of the mansion, usually, when he was done with most of his maidly duties he would spend the rest of his free time traversing around and exploring the rest of the manor until he was called upon again to do other housley tasks.
As Subaru began his site-seeing around the mansion, something, in particular, caught him In the corner of his eye as he passed by one of the manor's windows.
He didn't know why but something within him drew him closer, Getting Closer to the window Subaru peered through it and what was on the other side was a beautiful garden filled with all sorts of flowers as far as the eye could see.
[Subaru: Someone must have just planted these]
Subaru thought as he continued to look at all the flowers in the garden, the owner of the mansion was very fond of flowers so he planted lots of them around the mansion.
As he continued to look out to all the various types of flowers such as red Roses,yellow-tinted orchids, and pink tulips, one flower, in particular, caught his eye the most…It was a singular beautiful white lily that laid directly in front of the rest of the batch, alone, he didn't know why but he thought that flower was the most beautiful out of the bunch as it stood by itself out from the rest of the flowers secluded and standing out like a thorn amongst the rest but shined brighter than any other…
"..."
[Subaru: huh…?]
Backing away from the window…Subaru felt something…It was a strange feeling…Looking down at his hands…he realized something… they were beginning to shake.
[Subaru: Why am I shaking…?]
Grabbing his wrist with his other hand he tried to stop himself from shaking…but just couldn't, not only that but he felt his legs begin to give out too, bringing him to his knees in the process, it was as if his entire being was shaken.
[Subaru: Why…what is this feeling…]
As Subaru's entire body began to shake, It was an indescribable feeling…..a feeling he hadn't felt in a long…long time…It was the feeling of fear.
Then It finally hit him, all the memories from last night flooded back Into him all at once…the memories of the person he wanted to protect…memories of her…
He felt sick
He felt sick
He was sick…
With the remaining strength he had left In his feet, he stood back up and with a hand up to his stomach, ran through the hallways, reaching a bathroom and locking himself inside.

[Subaru: ugghuhhh!]
With this, Subaru let it out, everything he was feeling erupted all at once, his mind was in shambles, he couldn't hold it back, not anymore. Bringing his head up from the bathroom sink he tried to look at himself in the mirror, but just couldn't bring himself to do so, but with a little will left in his body, he was able to whisper a few words that only he could hear.
[Subaru: I-i'm sorry…I'm so so sorry…]
was all he could say…his mind was nothing but in complete and utter shambles, so all he did was stand there, doing nothing but lay there in complete silence completely locked off from the outside world.
He didn't know how much time passed…he would have stayed there forever in complete silence if not for a few knocks that hit the door.
Knock knock knock
[?: Sir Sorry for intruding, but is everything alright in there, you've been in there for a while now] a voice called out.
Turning to where the voice was coming from, he knew it was another one of the maids, one of the younger maids, in fact, judging from her voice. Not wanting to ignore her though, Subaru finally got the will and walked over to the door handle before hesitantly opening it.
Exiting the bathroom and closing the door behind him Subaru's eyes were then met with bright green, this maid was much younger than the rest, being about 15 years of age, sporting beautiful blonde hair, and from the look in her eyes, Subaru knew she was worried.
[Maid: Sir are you alright, you've been in there for half an hour] the girl asked worriedly
Seeing the worried expression of the maid before him, Subaru was able to force a little smile to not get her worried.
[Subaru: Yeah…I'm alright, I just feel a little bit under the weather is all]
Subaru said with a slight smile making the girl feel a bit at ease.
[Maid: Oh, ok then, do you think you'll be able to continue working for today? If you really don't feel too well I could tell the boss to let you retire for the day?]
Thinking about it for a bit, Subaru then agreed, giving the maid a nod.
[Subaru: Yeah I think you're right…tell him I'm sorry for being an inconvenience…]
[Maid: N-no I could never, I'll just tell him you overworked yourself, just go home and get some rest alright?]
[Subaru: Alright then, thank you very much]
Subaru said with a bright smile towards the girl making her worried expression vanish, just Before leaving Subaru gave the little girl a small pat on her head making her blush a bit before finally leaving.

Walking outside and passing the gates, giving the gatekeepers a slight nod, Subaru left the estate, beginning his trip once again out into the streets of kararagi. As he walked out into the streets the people he would pass by would give their usual happy greetings to him, most of which fell on deaf ears as he was too much of a mess to respond back. As he continued to walk in silence, some of the people gave him worried looks, but he didn't care at the moment, the only goal he had in his mind was just to get back home.
Walking slowly for a few more minutes with the sun in the distance getting ever so low, Subaru finally reached his home, going up to the door Subaru reached out and opened it, closing the door behind him.
As he entered he took off his shoes and let out a deep sigh of relief, happy that he was back to the place he wanted to be the most, but before he could do anything else a voice called out his name.
[Rem: Oh Subaru-kun, your home so soon?]
Looking up towards the voice It was none other than the woman who now held his heart. Subaru felt like all the worries he had In the world instantly vanished away in seconds when she called out to him. Nothing was more lovely than his dear wife. Going up to her, Subaru said nothing and wrapped his arms around her hugging her into a tight embrace which made Rem blush from the sudden act of affection.
[Subaru: Yeah I got let out early, but I'm glad to be home]
Subaru said increasing the tightness of the hug around his wife, Although Rem found it strange that Subaru got let out early from work, but decided not to question It and returned his hug, bearing her face in his chest.
[Rem: Well I'm glad you're back already, Rem was starting to get lonel-]
[Subaru:...?]
Looking down at Rem in confusion, he saw that Rem dug deeper into his chest.
*Sniff, sniff, sniff*
[Rem: Subaru-Kun smells like another woman]
Rem said, looking up at Subaru. As soon as those words left her mouth Subaru's entire body froze Remembering the situation he got himself into with one of the maids early that day. Seeing that Rem had somewhat of a menacing glare directed towards him he instantly tried to deny any incoming accusations against him from her by shaking his head, backing away from Rem's menacing aura.
[Subaru: I-it's not what it looks like Rem, she just clung to me, I had no say, I swear!]
Seeing Subaru try to explain himself frantically, Rem just gave him a bright smile.
[Rem: But, since Subaru-Kun is being so cute right now, Rem will forgive it just this once, but Rem will have to make sure something like this doesn't happen again, so I'll go to your workplace tomorrow and clear things up with whoever it was] Rem said with a smile
With a slightly worried laugh to himself, Subaru gets kinda worried at the thought of what his wife might do but puts his worries to the side for a later date.
[Subaru: So Is Rigel home already, I'm sure that brat would be making lots of noise by now if he was here]
[Rem: Yes, Rigel came back not too long ago, but Rem tucked him into bed already so he's fast asleep]
[Heh that's good, I'm glad I don't have to listen to his nagging after coming home from a long day of work]
Subaru said jokingly, causing Rem to laugh a bit, but after a moment of silence, Rem blushed a bit.
[Rem: Well Subaru-kun won't have to worry about Rigel…but since Rigel is asleep…and since we have to house for ourselves…do you think we could…try again?] Rem asked, trying to hide the newfound blush on her face.
Seeing how flustered Rem had gotten, Subaru knew exactly what she wanted, and without warning went up to her, lifting her chin up to make her look at him; seeing her bright blue eyes, as deep as oceans look at him he then went in and gave a soft kiss to her lips in which she returned. Staying there for a while in silence, Rem took Subaru by the hand and led him to their room, closing the door behind them.
Wrapping his arms around her waist, Subaru held Rem in a tight embrace as he locked his lips with hers, both of them getting lost In their minds as they slowly yet passionately kissed each other. As they both got lost In their desire for one another, Subaru took the opportunity and slowly brought Rem down to the bed still kissing her gently, after a while Rem finally broke away looking up at Subaru.
[Rem: dear, do you… think it will work this time?]
Seeing the unsure look In Rem's eyes, Subaru didn't know how to respond so he did the only thing he knew how to do to reassure her, giving her another kiss on her lips. After the kiss, Subaru gave the best answer he could give.
[Subaru: I'm not sure dear…but the only thing we can do is keep trying right?]
[Rem: Alright dear…]
With that response, Subaru didn't waste any more time and went back In and started to slowly take off Rem's kimono, leaving her in nothing but her set of white panties. Not wanting to be the only one Rem took off Subaru's kimono as well, leaving him shirtless, as she held him close, embracing him.
As they held each other close Subaru went in and started planting soft kisses across Rem's neck while on top of her taking the chance to fondle one of her breasts as well In hand. After a while Rem couldn't hold back her moans anymore as Subaru kept sending kisses across her neck and earlobe but with a little bit of will left spoke out.
[Rem: Dear…I'm ready…]
Hearing her speak out, Subaru went in and kissed her softly yet passionately on her lips before softly speaking Into her ear.
[Subaru: As you wish…my love]
And with that, Subaru took off the last remaining article of clothing he had on while also removing Rem's as well, taking off her panties and throwing them to the side. With nothing else holding them back, Subaru aligned himself with her entrance, and finally, they embraced.
[Subaru: Rem…]
[Rem: I-i'm alright, you can move now…]
Following her request, Subaru did exactly that and slowly started to move In and out of Rem, causing her to moan, trying to hide her moans Rem brought down Subaru's head to her level and locked lips with him, silencing herself.
As they held each other In a tight embrace, Subaru continued his action and slowly and gently kept pushing in and out of Rem. After a few more minutes of this, Subaru finally released inside of Rem as he gave her the most passionate kiss he could give.
As he finished he got off of Rem and layed next to her, looking up towards the ceiling as Rem hugged his chest. Stayed there in silence for a while until Subaru finally spoke up.
[Subaru: Rem…]
[Rem: Yes dear?]
[Subaru…do you think I'm a failure?]

After a minute or so of silence, Rem finally spoke.
[Rem: No…]
was all she said, at this Subaru turned his head to face her.
[Rem: Subaru-Kun…Isn't a failure… Subaru-Kun is a hero…without you, many people here could have died, you could have chosen to run away, yet chose not to abandon them…to protect them…that's more than enough to prove Subaru-Kun isn't a failure…because In Rem's heart, Subaru-Kun is nothing less than a hero.]
[Subaru: Rem]
That was all he could say. Seeing Subaru unresponsive, Rem changed the topic.
[Rem: Rem also must say something, Rem is also sorry…because of Rem It's been taking forever for us to get our baby, If Rem was just not born an Oni, It wouldn't be taking us this long..]
[Subaru: Rem…you don't have to say sorry for something like that…besides, I wouldn't want to have you any other way]
As he said this Rem reached over and intertwined her hand with his, holding it tightly bringing it up to her heart.

It was a bright sunny day, birds were chirping, kids were playing happily outside, while the calm breeze of Banan blew through the air, a very peaceful setting, especially for the man named Natsuki Subaru who was just getting ready to start his day.
[Subaru: Ahh, It's such a great day out, maybe I should go meet with Hal today]
Saying this while walking outside of his room, his attention was then brought to the beautiful sound of humming. In the distance sitting on a chair, a beautiful woman layed who was just as beautiful as the song she hummed,It was none other than his wife who looked practically the same as ever...except for one crucial detail.
Walking over to her, Subaru placed his hand on her now round belly.
[Subaru: your belly is starting to get really big huh, how are you feeling Rem?]
[Rem: Rem's fine dear, she just feels a little light-headed is all]
[Subaru: I'm glad, It shows that you and the baby are healthy, and that's all that matters]
Giving Rem a smile, Rem held his hand that rested on her belly until a few knocks could be heard at the door.
[Subaru: I'll get it, you sit and rest ok?]
Giving Subaru a slight nod, Subaru goes over to the door and answers, and on the other side is none other than Halibel and Tia, Subaru expected to see Tia as she said she would visit sooner or later but not Halibel so he was quite shocked when he saw both of them at the door.
[Tia: Took you long enough, I was out there forever, I would have fallen asleep if you had taken any longer]
[Subaru: It was only a few seconds!]
Subaru said agitated but Tia just brushed him off.
[Subaru: anyways why is Hal here, he usually doesn't show unless there's alcohol]
[Hal: Su-san you know that's not true, I would have shown up eventually…I was just walking down the path of life ]
[Subaru: you with your excuses again!]
[Tia: Oh the mutt? Oh I saw him walking by himself drinking so I grabbed him by the neck and
dragged him here by force]
[Hal: you know Tia, you should be more gentle with me, I am the last of my species after all]
[Tia: Yeah yeah yeah, anyways I came to see Rem, can you move now?] Tia said pushing past Subaru.
[Rem: Tia-sama, That's not how you ask…]
Rem scolds Tia from a distance while still sitting down in her chair making Tia blush a bit from embarrassment as she walks back to Subaru, turning to him and asking again.
[Tia: …May I come In p-please?]
[Subaru: Yeah…sure]
With this Tia instantly went up to Rem with a smile on her face as she got something from her pockets and held It out to her.
[Tia: Here this is a gift for the child, I made it myself]
Wanting to see what It was, Subaru looked down at Tia's hand.
[Subaru: Is that a necklace made out of rocks?]
Subaru asked confusedly In which Tia snorted.
[Tia: These aren't just some rocks…these are all the good shaped rocks I found about the city, I made sure to get all the cool-looking ones]
Tia said with a confident smug smile, seeing how smug she was though, Subaru wanted to shut her down but Rem instantly took the necklace from her hands.
[Rem: Thank you so much Tia-sama, Tia-sama really is the greatest] Rem said with a smile making Tia blush again.
[Tia: It's nothing really, just make sure when the baby grows up you make them wear it ok?, But anyways where's the food I'm starving]
[Rem: Oh, the food is on the dining table, I already made a plate for you and Halibel-sama, just don't make too much of a mess alright?]
[Tia: Ahh Nice, thanks, Rem. Your cooking is always the best!]
[Halibel: Well Su-san, I can't pass up an opportunity such as eating Rem-san's cooking, so I'm going to have to go too]
With this, Both Tia and Halibel went into the kitchen, leaving both Subaru and Rem alone.
[Subaru: They really are going at it huh]
Subaru said as he watched Tia and Halibel start to eat In seconds.
[Rem: hopefully they don't make too much of a mess, I don't want Tia-sama to get food all over herself like last time]
Rem said, laughing to herself a bit from the memory, as they both laughed at Tia's inability to eat normally, they stayed there in silence for a bit until Rem spoke up.
[Rem: Subaru-kun]
Subaru looked down at her.
[Subaru: Yes Rem?]
Do you regret it?
At the words Rem spoke, Subaru froze, he didn't know how to answer the question, as he stood in place unresponsive to the question, he finally got the courage and spoke.
[Subaru: No….]
"..."
[Subaru: …when Emila left me that day…I was lost…I didn't know what to do,I was angry…angry at her for not seeing what I saw…angry at her for being so selfish…I just wanted to run away from it all…I thought it was for the best…But If I had the chance…what I what give just to spend one more second with her…with them…]
"..."
[Subaru: But…you can't change the past…I've realized that now, that's why…I want to move on…with you, our family,…and that's why I've decided to raise our children, to not make the same mistakes as I did…that's why I don't regret It]
Saying this, Subaru put his hand on Rem's belly as she held his hand close.
[Rem: I love you Subaru-kun]
[Subaru: I love you too, Rem]
