Jane had dealt with the Rachni problem for Wrex and was happy to have seen grunt again In his element amongst all the danger, they had all left with minimal damage and for that she was ecstatic it had been touch and go thinking he had died in the tunnels.

A plot was charted for the citadel and Jane couldn't be happier, she had a meeting with Miranda and could pick Aki up at the same time; she had avoided telling Garrus at tuchunka and had asked Liara to do the same but now she headed down to the battery to let him know the good news.

She exited and rounded into the mess crossing toward the battery, and entered inside "Garrus"

"hey jane" he replied as he fixated on the console in front of him

"Aki's fine, she's on the citadel"

He spun "she's what-"

"we're going to get her now" she assured him

He seemed to lean back where he stood and exhaled heavily his mandibles clicking softly "we are"

"yeah" she placed a hand on his arm "she's fine"

"why didn't she-"

"I told her we were on a mission"

The crew had been under a lot of pressure already so once they reached the citadel jane announced that they would be on leave until midday the next day. They deserved some much needed R and R before getting back into the chaos of saving the galaxy.

The crew headed out quickly, all filtering out of the ship, eager to enjoy their evening of freedom. Victus wanted to take Garrus to see the Turian councillor and things being as they were he reluctantly agreed. Victus had noticed this but chose to ignore the disappointment which laced his features.

The only ones that didn't leave the ship were Mordin, Eve and Wrex.

Jane bid them her farewells and headed for Aki's apartment; she took a cab.

Jane threw open the door to the apartment and ran through finding her in the kitchen finishing packing her bags for the return to the Normandy, Janes knee's felt weak, she threw her arms around aki and sunk into her sisters embrace

"I knew you'd be too fucking stubborn to die"

Aki laughed into her shoulder "you already did that for the both of us"

Jane pulled back to look at her "you look like shit Aki"

"thanks" she scoffed

"im so glad you're okay Aki" she sobbed, thick heavy tears running down her feckled cheeks "Earth and then you and Kaidan and then Victus's son" she wept as she held her again

Aki chuckled "we have a lot to catch up on huh" she whispered into her sister's hair "tell me everything, I'm with you Jane, until the end"

So, jane did. She told her everything so far.

"Are you handing this okay?"

"Have you been to see kaidan?"

"You first" she downed the drink in her hands "I will soon, Garrus will be finishing up his meeting anyways, I'm sure you two have a lot to talk about"

She shrugged "its been a while i-"

"Aki- he was heartbroken when I told him I didn't know If you were alive or dead" she assured her "he has fretted nonstop-he still feels the same I can assure you of that"

"I know I still do" she breathed.

Jane kissed her forehead and stood up, "I'm going to go, I have a million things to do, ill see you at the Normandy tomorrow at 12, I love you"

She nodded "I love you too"

She headed for the hallway "and sleep for god's sake you look like you could drop"

Aki waved a hand "I'll try"

Garrus finished up his debrief with the turian councillor "I'm sorry primarch but I have to go"

"ahh Vakarian, I assume this is to do with the prior engagement I interrupted to make you come here with me"

Garrus's mandibles clicked softly "I have someone I have to go see"

"what's her name?"

Garrus laughed softly "her, sir?"

"it's clearly a woman, you've had one foot out the door since we arrived" Victus's brow place furrowed "has she served under me?"

Garrus laughed softly "no sir, she's a human" he turned on his heel "Aki Shepard"

Victus reeled a little before shaking his head "well that's different" he mused as Garrus left.

He half ran to the cab terminal.

It had been hours since he left the Normandy, he was eager to see her and the ride seemed to take longer than usual, even the walk to her door…

He stood in front of the panel and swallowed hard, she still felt the same right?

Garrus cursed under his breath quickly standing awkwardly, he wanted to hold her,. Aki laughed brushing the hair back from her face to look at her stunning turian, to see those blue eyes which bore into her.

Garrus melted at that smile on those lips, at the way her eyes shone, filled with emotion teary with sleep and happiness.

She waited for a moment questioning silently why he was just standing there dumfounded, Garrus was unsure as to what to do right now… he was just taken aback by her, "take the armour off Garrus and get in here" she chuckled beckoning him into her.

"nothing's changed Garrus, the galaxy has went to shit and I have a few more scars, but you- I still feel exactly the same way as I did before we separated" she promised him reaching up to hold his face in her hands, his mandibles clicking softly at her touch.

He looked into those whelming eyes and felt himself fall for her all over again.

"I love you Aki Shepard" he stated with a chirp of his mandibles, his rough body pushing against her naked flesh.

He nodded "Mordin and Chakwas is there so take your pick"

"yeah- maybe take it easy for a week or so" She raised an eyebrow at him and he laughed "forget I said anything"

"already done"

he turned to her and nodded "ready to head out?"

"yeah" she grabbed her bags Garrus instantly taking them from her and slipping them over his shoulder

"thanks"

He nodded "better than watching you hobble around"

She stuck her tongue out and rolled her eyes, "back to it Garrus"

"yeah- it'll all work out aki"

"of course," she smirked "Jane is dependable like that"

He laughed "she sure is"
