"Here she comes"
Yang, Weiss, Blake and JNPR stood tall on the fields of battle in Vacou as they saw the Queen of the Grimm who started strolling towards them, the relics of creation and knowledge strapped to her belt.
"Eyes up" Jaune commanded, picking up speed towards Salem, shifting the gravity dust function of his shield on. "Stay sharp. Protect Oscar and the Relic."
With a roar, Yang launched herself at the inhuman monster, who sent a web of dark grimm matter from her palm, wrapping around Yang's arm.
With a tug, Salem pulled Yang towards her, close lining the Blonde, as she crashed to the ground.
Ren fired his hooks from stormflower, embedding themselves into Salem's chest, and firing his pistols at her. The bullets did little more than annoy Salem, who rushed at the huntsmen, but was quickly sidelined by Nora, who shattered her skull with a blow from her hammer.
Salem found herself sent flying into a rock face, which shattered, but got up seconds later, reforming like nothing happened. She dusted herself off, and Nora continued the assault firing her grenade launcher at Salem.
Sending a blast of multicolored magic from her palms, Salem annihilated the explosives, before making contact with Nora, shattering the hammer-wielder's aura, and knocking her unconscious.
Jaune jumped in, standing over the tiny orange haired girl with his shield in front of them. His arrival surprised Salem, giving Ren time to launch his assault. Ren fired his hooks into her chest once again, but this time, pulled himself towards the Queen, slamming into her with his feet.
From there he disconnected, slashing at her, but received a headbutt before he could do any significant damage. Salem then tossed him away into a tree.
Jaune charged Salem, and with his new sword slashed at the goddess, but she caught the blade in her palm, and backhanded him, sending him, shield and all, flying.
"Checkmate" Weiss called out, and her and Blake charged, unleashing a rush of slashes and stabs from the heiress's and the faunus's swords, tearing through Salem at blinding speeds.
Jumping into the air, Weiss summoned her queen lancer, crashing into Salem. The lancer turned, rushing back to pick up Blake and herself, before turning to crash into the queen of the grimm once again, impaling her with its stinger.
With a cry of fury, Salem tore into the summon with her grimm like talons, causing it to quickly shatter. Salem launched out her arms, extending to grasp onto both Weiss and Blake.
However, she was met with nothing but Weiss's glyph, which the heiress was able to use as a platform to avoid Salem's attack, and the other arm grabbed ahold of one of Blakes shadow clone's, this one embedded with fire dust.
The explosion tore through her arm, and as Weiss landed, she stabbed the ground, creating a wall of ice that covered Salem almost instantly, freezing her solid. Weiss and Blake took a moment to breath, but noticed as the ice cracked, before it shattered, as Salem pounced from her temporary prison.
Before either girl could react, she was upon them, grasping them both around the neck, and crushing their aura with her bare hands, as they strained against her strength.
Jaune leapt in from behind, cutting off the arm holding Weiss with his sword, before turning and stabbing her in the face with his shield, causing her to drop both of the huntresses.
His victory was short lived however, as Salem reformed almost as quickly as she was damaged, launching her tendril like arms outwards to surround Jaune, crushing him like an octopus.
"Os…s…c..ar" Jaune coughed, turning to face Ozpin's successor, as he struggled to breath against Salem's attempt to smother him "R..un"
Oscar opened his mouth to argue but seeing how dire the situation was, he turned and sprinting into the nearby forested area to find cover to escape.
In a rage Salem sent a current of magic through Jaune, who cried out in pain, as the power destroyed his aura instantly, and then Salem threw him, knocking down a tree with the force of her attack.
She then launched her arms outwards once again, wrapping around Oscar's throat and waist, pulling the boy backwards to the ground, and dragging him towards her as he thrashed and struggled.
She pulled him close, easily pulling the crown free from his grip, and then tossed him aside. He leapt to his feet, preparing to launch an attack with staff, but with a whistle a hound pounced from the bush, pinning him to the floor with its superior size.
"Oh Ozma" Salem mocked "Despite all your struggles, despite all your deaths and sacrifices, it was all for nothing. I was always going to get the relics, and now I just need to take one more."
Before she could continue however, a bolt of lighting rained down from the sky, sending the Queen of the Grimm crashing to the ground, as she writhed with agony.
Raven Branwen, using the power of the maiden to fly, turned into what almost seemed to be a bolt of lighting herself, blitzing the immortal woman with Omen, impaling her with the massive dust katana's blade, as the relic of destruction shimmered on her belt.
Salem stumbled, her body radiating with the power of the spring maiden as she struggles to stand.
"No more" Raven snarled as she dug the blade deeper into Salem's chest, using the relic of destruction combined with her maiden powers to prevent Salem from regenerating "You don't get to keep hurting my family! I might not be able to kill you, but I sure as hell will make sure you never hurt anyone again!"
Salem screamed in agony as the magical energy flowed through her, atomizing her as the sword of destruction tore through her grimm body. With most of her arms and torso dissolved, she fell to her knees. Raven spat on her, stabbing her sword deeper still.
Salem's nearly finished expression, shifted into a sickly-sweet smile, as she stared deep into the bandit leader's eyes "You should have gone for the relics"
Her grim arm shot out and grasped the sword of destruction before Raven could react. The ground shook, and the world seemed to stop.
Before them they stood. The gods, two dragons, one a brilliant gold and the other a vibrant purple, radiating as the embodiment of life and death respectively. Order and chaos. Light and dark.
"Salem" The God of Light announced, his voice shaking the earth itself as it echoed across the landscape "You have united the four relics, and now we shall pass judgement on humanity, determining their collective fate."
Salem roared in rage, firing off a blast of multicolored light, despite the considerably sized red katana stabbing her in the chest. The blast, strong enough to annihilate a mountain, didn't even seem to phase either of the gods. The god of darkness blinked, a blast of black lighting firing from his eye, and struck Salem down, knocking the Queen of the Grimm to the ground, leaving her half destroyed in a crater and somehow leaving Raven unscathed.
"Humanity" The God of Darkness spoke solemnly "Despite being divided by borders, and kingdoms. By race and values, most of you are choosing to stand here today, facing this abomination as one. I must say, I'm surprised."
"Indeed" The God of Light, continued "It is impressive that a species so committed to seeing themselves as better, or different from one another would be able to stand united, at least for the most part. Destroying them would seem unfair, no?
"Agreed" The God of Darkness replied "However, to give them back their magic, despite not being truly united was not a part of our deal with this one" he said, looking dismissably at the vaguely woman shaped pile of back goo that was reforming as Salem.
"A middle ground then." The God of Light finalized "Together brother?"
"Together." The God of Darkness agreed, and together the two gods snapped their fingers, and an overwhelming blast of light and dark erupted from them, blinding all in the vicinity.
The two deities vanished, leaving an astonished Raven and nearly completely reformed Salem in their place, looking around trying to make sense of their situation.
"What did you do?" Raven cried as she looked around, yelling in terror at the Grimm Queen, who looked equally perplexed. Using the relic of creation, she created a portal directly behind her.
Salem vanished into the portal, the relics disappearing along with her. Raven just stared at the empty space with fear and confusion as Yang ran up to her.
"Mom, where did she go, where did she go?!"
"Yang…" Blake muttered as she was walking up to them with Weiss stumbling behind, vanished into a pile of dust.
Yang, rushed over to the spot where Blake just disappeared from, with Weiss running to meet her, both looking at each over with expressions of horror, as Yang fell to her knees.
All along the battlefield, the warriors of Menagerie, Shade and the Bandit Tribe vanished, as their comrades tried to reach out for them, calling out for their friends and family as they disappeared into nothing. Neptune collapses into Sun's arms as their friends, their brothers, Scarlet and Sage, fade with them. Both of the remaining members of SSSN cried out, with Sun punching the ground in rage.
Ilia, laid injured on the ground, was approached by Ghira, with the big panther faunus helping his lieutenant to her feet.
"Up, Ilia, let's get you to a medic"
But Ilia soon found herself back on the ground, as her chieftain vanished, with the chameleon faunus only able to look at her empty hand with confusion and fear.
"Oh god"
Nora fell to her knees as Ren approached her, barely holding back tears as she called out his name and faded to dust. Ren desperately reached out for her hand, only to have it vanish before him.
"No, no, no, no" the green clad ninja muttered before collapsing on his own knees, tears braking through as his sobs echoed throughout the forest.
Jaune, seeing his teammate and friends vanish turns to Oscar, who looks at Jaune with fear, before shifting to the calculated expression of Ozpin.
"Jaune…it was the only way", and with that the final incarnation of Ozma disappears, drifting as dust on the wind.
All standing around Winters corpse, the team that attacked Salem's castle, are all still with shock.
"Something's coming" Fox mutters, as he supported Yatsuhashi, before he vanished, with Yatsuhashi disappearing immediately after as he fell to the ground.
"No!" Velvet screamed, as she rushed over to the empty space that previously occupied her teammates. Coco tried to stop her, looking dazed as she just stared at where they have vanished from, the rabbit faunus struggling in her grip.
The Ace ops look at the scene in horror. The one faunus in their group ear's perk up, as he looks at his hands in surprise. Marrow and Elm both vanish, with Harriet activating her semblance to chase after the blown away dust, crying out for her friends.
Qrow turns as he runs over to help them, stopping in his tracks as he hears his niece from behind him.
"Uncle Qrow….I don't feel so good"
"You're alright" Qrow panicked as he rushed forward to help Ruby, the usually brave huntresses face shifting into that of a terrified teenager.
"I…I don't know…I don't know what's happening" She cried out frantically as she collapses into his arms, with her uncle holding her tight, desperately trying to keep her in his grip.
"I don't wanna go, please I don't want to go" She sobs into his shoulder, as they lower themselves to the ground, where Qrow places her gently, locking eyes with his niece, whose horrified face morphs into one of sadness, as she turns to him with tears streaming down her face.
"I'm sorry"
With that she vanishes into dust like all the rest, and Qrow just stays silent, trying to comprehend what he had just witnessed. His confusion shifts to desperation, as he begins to cry, with Robyn rushing over to comfort him.
"Oh god, oh god."
