Tom Riddle had a difficult life.
Raised by a destitute, single mother, Merope Riddle's love had been the only thing that had saved her son from becoming a monster hardened by hate and rejection.
Well, at least, Merope's love had been the only thing to save Tom from the dark until his Hogwarts' days began and he met Harriet Potter.
Before Tom had presented as an alpha, he didn't fully understand why he always scowled at the dark-haired girl or why he delighted in opportunities to tease her about her glasses and heckle her about her performance in the latest Quidditch game.
Things had become much more clearer to Tom after he had found Harriet in heat one day during their seventh year, huddled and miserable on the floor of the abandoned girls' lavatory at the top of the school.
Instinct had served as an instructor and together, Harriet and Tom had crashed through the tension that had built between them for seven long years while they coupled.
Tom Riddle had claimed his mate as ferociously as a wolf, against the cold, stone wall of the lavatory, hidden away from the world.
He hadn't realized that he could love anyone besides his mother, the woman who had birthed him, but Harriet had helped him discover that.
It was love, not obsession, that existed between Tom and Harriet, no matter how hungry they were for each other or how dizzying their affections seemed, it was pure, genuine love.
Tom and Harriet married a week after their graduation from Hogwarts.
Tom began working for the Ministry while Harriet started training as an auror.
Her retirement came prematurely three years later.
She had completed her training, but left her defence career after only six months to take on a more important role, wife to the Minister for Magic.
Tom's talents and charisma had gotten him far.
Once he had successfully won the election, it amazed some how glutted he had become on love, pride, and support.
Tom had been slated to take office on the first of the New Year and as celebration for his victory and out of honor for his birthday, a large party was scheduled to be held at the Ministry on New Year's Eve.
That morning, Tom laid beside Harriet in bed and stroked his omega's messy, dark hair while he patiently waited for her to wake.
When she opened her eyes at last, she smiled at her alpha as she whispered, "...Happy Birthday."
"Thank you, pet." Tom whispered back as he kissed Harriet's lips gently.
After Harriet kissed back with a sigh, Tom whispered, "Are you awake?"
"Yes." Harriet laughed, "Do you not see that my eyes are open?"
Tom grinned as he sat up against the headboard, moved the sheets over and proudly showed his wife his arousal as he spoke very matter-of-factly, "Alright, love. I'm ready for my birthday gift now."
Harriet sat up and glanced over her alpha.
From Tom's dark, curly hair, to his piercing gaze, all the way over his smooth muscles to his throbbing, pleasantly curved manhood that waited to be used for her pleasure, it was all Harriet could do not to give in…..but she couldn't let her mate have his way that easily.
He may start to think that he was in charge.
"...Later." Harriet nodded as she stood from the bed.
Tom scowled while she walked over to her vanity, sat down, and began to brush her hair.
"Later?! I told you that I wanted an heir for my birthday!" Tom snapped.
In the mirror, Harriet glanced at the anger on his face and smirked while he raged, "I am the alpha! You do as I say! Get over here and let me fill your womb!"
"You're the alpha, Tom, but I'll be the mother." Harriet quipped as she turned to look at her incensed mate, "...And I know what's best for my children. It won't do to conceive them now, my womb hasn't properly woken yet. We'll see to it this evening, after your party. You should get dressed, love. They're having a bruncheon to start the day's celebration, remember?"
As Harriet stood to dress, she could feel Tom's angry stare follow her across the room.
To test her alpha's patience even more, she made certain to bend over while she reached for her robes and give him a nice view of her rounded bottom.
Tom repressed a growl as he watched his mate.
Harriet could be very arrogant.
It wasn't wise to make a wizard as powerful or an alpha as dominant as Tom wait.
—————————————————————
The bruncheon was lovely but Tom couldn't enjoy it.
Throughout the meal, Harriet tormented him with her smile.
She mocked him with her bright, emerald eyes, the perfect shade of Slytherin green.
And her breasts……..she tortured her lover with the creamy swells that peeked over the edge of her robes whenever she laughed as she chatted with those in attendance.
Tom sat and bided his time.
Eventually, as he suspected, Harriet left the room to visit the lavatory.
A moment later, Tom excused himself from the conversation to chase after his…….that was right, Harriet was his and he sought to remind her of that as he appeared directly behind her while she washed her hands in the lavatory sink.
Harriet gasped in surprise when she saw her mate standing behind her and she stammered, "T-Tom….?!"
"I've grown tired of waiting, pet." Tom glowered at her in the mirror, "I need you to take my seed now, please, and give me an heir, as I asked."
Harriet gasped as Tom spun her around to face him.
Her heart raced as wetness pooled between her thighs while she smouldered under his possessive gaze.
"It is my birthday, after all." Tom smirked.
Their lips met as they stumbled forward in a violent crash.
Harriet wasn't in heat but that didn't stop Tom from trying his best to impregnate her as he apparated them back to their bed and planted himself inside her.
Harriet gasped for breath while her alpha placed hot, wet kisses over her breasts as he rolled his hips against her.
"One heir, maybe two……" Tom purred as Harriet groaned underneath him, "That shouldn't be more than you can manage, pet."
Harriet whimpered as his tongue flicked over a nipple while he whispered, "These will fill with milk…...and your belly will fill with my pup. You'll be so heavy you won't be able to walk, love. You'll spend your days sitting in your nest and rubbing your belly, waiting to birth my child. Won't that delight you, omega?"
He had cruelly taken his turn to tease her.
Harriet had suggested the idea of children before Tom, nearly a year earlier.
His mocking words had been true, it would be Harriet's delight indeed to grow his child in her hungry womb.
Harriet groaned as she hit her peak while Tom spilled himself deep within her as he sealed their passion with a needy kiss.
—————————————————————
The Minister for Magic's request wasn't fulfilled immediately.
Harriet endured a couple of heat cycles first, but by early spring, her husband's efforts to sire a pup became successful.
As her belly grew, so did Tom's protectiveness.
Others found it amusing how the greatest dark wizard to ever live hovered over his expectant wife like a mother hen.
Harriet thought her alpha was adorable and at the end of each day, she relaxed into her nest bathed in his gentle kisses and tender touches.
Tom finally received his gift on his birthday that year.
Five minutes until midnight on December thirty-first, he stood next to Harriet's hospital bed while his wife panted and pushed their child into the world.
Tom held one of Harriet's supple thighs and one of her hands while his mother held her other as the healers crouched between her legs.
"One more, pet…...one more…..you're doing so well, my love," Tom coached Harriet while he gave the back of her sweaty hand a kiss.
"I CCAAANN'TT!" Harriet groaned.
As Harriet groaned, Merope cut in while she blotted Harriet's forehead with a cool cloth and chuckled, "I remember feeling this same way twenty-one New Year's Eves ago."
"Push, Mrs. Riddle!" The healer commanded.
Tom frowned as he watched his mate sit up in the bed, close her eyes, and roar as she bore down, "NNNNGGGHHHH!"
He saw the healer move out of the corner of his eye and just before the clock struck midnight, a tiny life slipped out of Harriet and into the healer's waiting hands.
"A boy!" The healer cheered.
Tom looked up at Harriet with his dark eyes intensely loving as he kissed her hand again.
Merope watched as the healer moved to place the baby on his mother's belly while Harriet gasped at her infant in exhausted relief.
"What a beautiful heir you've given me, pet." Tom praised his mate as he watched his newborn scowl and start to cry.
"WWWAAAA!"
"WWWWAA!"
"Tom Marvolo Riddle III?" Harriet asked as she looked up at her alpha proudly.
Merope beamed beside her as Tom flashed his wife a charming smile of tenderness and agreed, "That sounds like a wonderful name."
