Two girls walk side by side down a forest path. While one pays little attention to the scenery around them the other looks off to the side. She blinks, curiosity flashing through her otherwise visibly amazed expression. It was still a little hard for her to comprehend where she was. That this world actually existed. She never would have imagined such a thing to be real. And, given where she came from, that was saying something. But here she was. Living within her favorite childhood cartoon.
With another blink, she turns her head to the girl next to her. A supposed resident of this world and, in part, why she was here in the first place. Only thing is, the girl didn't recognize her as any of the characters. Nor a background character for that matter. Yet she was without a doubt part of this world, and it only made the outsider more curious. Just how much more was there to this world that was never shown in hers? And what about it's logic?
"Huh." She says aloud, turning her head in front of her as she pondered the thought. Blinking out of her own thoughts, the previously silent girl turns to look at her.
"What?"
"I'm just wondering, if this world is a cartoon in my world, does it is work on cartoon logic now that I'm here?" She wonders out loud, tilting her head slightly in thought.
"... What?" The second girl demands, either not able or willing to hide the bewilderment from her tone. The first girl simply ignores it with a little shrug.
"You know," She starts, turning to look at her as if it will help explain herself, "things you say or do things that only exist in cartoons that you can't do in real life."
"... This isn't a cartoon." The second girl stresses in annoyance. Again the first brushes it off with another shrug before looking off to the side, a little more thoughtful than before.
"Yeah, well, sure, maybe not to you. And maybe not that I'm here now. But... say if I were to say 'Boy it would be nice to have a hero take us back to Detroit.'"
"Wha- what kind of thing is that to ask? Why are you talking like th-"
"Did somebody say hero?!"
