chapter 4
Stanley was getting ready for his first day of Middle school just like his friends were at their own houses. "Stanley get yourself in gear you don't want to be late on your first day!" Lorin called.
"Coming," Stanley said and grabbed his things. He double checked to make sure he had everything. "Okay, now I got everything," he said. "Even a pack for my Auvi-q auto injectors," he said.
"Good," said Lorin. "Also I know you have been saving for it all summer and finally earned enough, so here you are the Iphone 13 you have been wanting that your friends have," she said.
"Thanks mom and it's in the color I wanted," Stanley said. "Red," he said. "Lisa's is pink, Nathan's is green, Tony's is blue and Hannah's is Starlight," he said. "I am so excited," he said.
"Come let's help you set it up," Lorin said.
The Iphone was set up. "Remember no taking calls in class, or in movie theaters especially when the movie is playing, don't talk loud, and don't answer calls from numbers you don't know or says on it spam risk, and don't use the applications of social media and the internet to be rude to others, only put people you truly know in your contact list, and finally always keep it on hand in case of an emergency and call 911 if it is a real emergency got it?" Lorin said.
"I understand," Stanley said listening clearly.
"Now come on it's time to go," Lorin said.
They made it to the school. "Hey Stanley," Hannah said when he came up.
"Look what I just got," Stanley said.
"Wow a red Iphone 13." Lisa said.
"I finally saved up more than enough money for it," Stanley said. "Now I am going to save up for a Nintendo switch like Hannah has and have enough saved up for one of the Pokemon games I can play on it," he said.
"That's great," Hannah said.
"Now come on, we need to go in and get our class assignments and such," Nathan said.
"Yes let's go," Tony said.
They went inside and there were lots of preteens and kids in their early teens.
The five friends grabbed their class schedules. "Okay let's see," Hannah said. "Looks like Stanley and I have every class together," she said.
"Yep," Stanley said looking at both of their schedules.
"Looks like I have three classes with you Hannah and Stanley," Nathan said.
"I have two classes with you three," Tony said.
"I only have one class with you guys," Lisa said.
"Hey count your blessings at least it's homeroom," Hannah said. "We will get to do many different activities together," she said.
"Hey what's this?" Stanley asked coming up to a wall with a list of different things.
"Oh those are for after school activities," Hannah said. "Hey they have a Taekwondo team for boys and girls," she said. "This is going to be exciting I happen to do Taekwondo," she said.
"Yes I know I am in the same class as you at the dojo." Stanley said. "It looks like our dojo is one of the team sponsors," he said.
"Yes it is," Hannah said. "Let's sign up," she said.
"Good idea," Stanley said. "It's on the same days for both genders Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 3:45," he said.
They both signed up and it was all done.
Stanley and Hannah were soon walking to catch the bus to go home when Stanley bumped into someone. "Oops sorry," Stanley said.
"Watch it you dweeb!" the big boy said. "Look who's with you Madame windshield," he said.
"Hello Devon," Hannah said sound annoyed.
"So Madame windshield how did you enjoy your summer walking those stinky dogs? You are such a lame-o girl," Devon said.
"Hey, that's no way to talk to a girl," Stanley said.
"Oh look who is being a noble knight," Devon said in a mocking tone. "What is your problem with it ya dweeb?' he asked.
"My name is Stanley," Stanley said. "Stanley Staris," he said.
Devon took a look at the stuff Stanley was carrying, it was Pokemon Lunchbox and backpack just like Hannah, he had a carrying case for his allergy medications with patches and embroidery of different scientific things, like radiation, and chemistry, and he was carrying textbooks with paper bag covers with Pokemon, and science symbols and figures drawn all over them even his math book had math symbols drawn all over it, his Language arts Text book had many drawings too, even a had picture of Sherlock Holmes' hat drawn on it, his history book had many historical things drawn on it too. All the drawings were very accurate and looked like they were supposed too. Stanley was even wearing a shirt with a stars on it with a dragon flying on it.
"Boy are you a nerd." Devon said.
"Hey!" Stanley said.
"I never seen you around here before Stanley," Devon said in mocking sweet tone.
"I was adopted from over seas, during the summer and my new mother lives here in Farmerson, this is my home now and I am also now a legal USA citizen," Stanley said.
"Ooh an immigrant," Devon said.
"Come on Hannah let's get to the bus," Stanley said. They were starting to leave.
"Hey I didn't excuse you," Devon said. "You can go when I say you can go got you Star geek?" he said.
"I don't want to miss it," Stanley said and was about walk past him. Then Devon pushed him to the ground causing Stanley to get a cut on his wrist because of so metal nearby on a locker Devon was tearing up earlier.
"Well I got to go too see you later Star geek," Devon said.
"Oh that Devon," Hannah said. "Come on Stanley let's get you to the nurse so she can take care of you wrist," she said.
Stanley's huge wrist cut was now covered by a big bandage. The nurse said there was chance he needed stitches and that he would most likely need a tetanus booster shot too.
Stanley sighed as Lorin picked him up and took him too the doctor.
Back at the base Stanley came back with his wrist wrapped up.
"Stanley what happened?" Jazz asked.
"I don't want to talk about it," Stanley said.
"Stanley had a run in with Devon the resident bully at our school since Kindergarten," Hannah said.
"Ooh he's a jerk," Lisa said. "He once ripped my homework into pieces, and it took me forever to tape it together to turn it in and it was hard to explain to the teacher what happened," she said.
"He broke my science fair project last year," Tony said.
"He gave me a black eye on the first day of school last year," Nathan said.
"He broke my glasses more times than I can remember," Hannah said.
"He sounds like a jerk to me," Cliffjumper said.
"Y-yep, d-d-definitely a jerk," Bluestreak said.
"I had to get stiches today because of him," Stanley said.
"Yes and he was tearing up another kid's locker, that boy is going to end up in juvie one of these days," Hannah said.
"Juvie?" asked Hot shot.
"It's a place where teens and kids get locked up instead of jail." Nathan said.
"Oh," Hot shot said.
"Well Stanley first days aren't always easy but it will get better eventually," Lorin told him.
"I sure hope so," Stanley said.
Stanley did enjoy being human and there was still so much to learn and do.
To be continued.
