Returned:

Bella

It had been five months since the Cullens had left Forks and me behind. It was now February, and I was finally back to where I could think coherently. That didn't mean I was back to my old self, just that I knew I needed to do a better job of hiding things from Charlie. To accomplish this goal, I had decided to see a movie with Jessica Stanley tonight in Port Angeles.

Worst. Decision. Ever. The movie I had so blissfully believed was a horror film turned out to be a romantic drama. The relationship between the female protagonist and the male lead was so similar to mine and Edwards' that it made me physically ill to watch. My skin felt clammy, and I needed some fresh air to cool myself down. So I had lied to Jessica, telling her I was going to the bathroom. Instead, I hurried outside the theater.

As I calmed myself down, I noticed how empty the city was tonight. The stillness made me uncomfortable, so I turned to go back inside when a shout caught my attention. "Hey Baby, why don't you come over here. My friends and I can show you a great time," a slurry voice said.

I turned in the voice's direction and was surprised to see a group of five men, all who were older than me, standing on the other side of the theater parking lot where a small bar was situated. The one who called me was a white male dressed in a black leather jacket and denim jeans. His hair was blond and spiked, I couldn't tell what color his eyes were.

I was half tempted to ignore them, but something, I don't know what lured me into walking over to the group. "What kind of fun?" I asked. What compelled me to ask that? I'll never know.

The man smiled at me, revealing a set of slightly crooked teeth. For the first time, I realized his eyes were blue. "How would you like to go to a bonfire, sweetheart? There will be food and plenty of booze. Plus, you'll have all of us fine gentlemen to hang out with. What do you say?" he said.

I was about to turn down the offer when I heard his voice. Edward was talking to me, telling me to go back inside the theater, but something about the way he ordered me made me angry. "Sure, I could use a night of fun," I said to the men, all of whom were strangers.

The blond smiled at me again. "Good choice, honey. You can ride with Kyle over there," he said, pointing to a tall male with short black curly hair, who I assumed was Kyle. The now identified Kyle smiled at me. "This way..?"

"Bella," I said.

His smile widened. "Well then, this way, Bella. My truck is over here," he said, walking over to a large black Ford truck. I followed him and got into the passenger seat. A moment later, we were on the road. Apart from me felt bad for leaving Jessica, but I justified it by telling myself she'd do the same thing to me.

Why we were driving, I took a chance to study Kyle. He wasn't that bad looking for a human. He must have felt my stare because he smiled over at me. "So Bella, tell me what brought you to Port Angeles tonight?" he asked.

I turned and stared out the window as I answered him. "Honestly, I only came out here tonight to get Ch-my dad, off my case. He thinks I've been moping around the house," I said.

Kyle quirked an eyebrow. "And what's a pretty thing like you moping around the house for?" he asked, making me blush crimson.

I sighed. "I've been getting over a nasty breakup," I answered honestly.

Kyle looked at me sympathetically. "Oh, I'm sorry," he said.

I shook my head. "Don't be. It was a long time coming," I said.

Kyle glanced out of the corner of his eye. "Now, why do you say that? Had you two been growing distant or something?" he asked.

"Yeah," I said. It wasn't the truth, but I couldn't tell Kyle the truth about my breakup. As I was sure if I told Kyle, I'd dated a vampire, he would think I was crazy. Kyle shook his head but didn't comment further, and I didn't bother trying to make small talk.

We drove the rest of the way in silence until we pulled into a large open filled. Just like the spike hair guy had said, there was a bonfire going on. There had to be at least a hundred people here. Rock music was playing, and several people were rocking out on it. On the left side of the field, I saw two large tables packed with food and drink, which was beer. In the center of the field, a large fire was burning. "Wow," I said, transfixed by the sight in front of me.

Kyle flashed me a grin. "Impressive, isn't it? I bet you've never been to a party like this," he said, laughing.

I smiled and nodded, still amazed by the sight in front of me. Kyle took me by the arm and began leading me to a group of people sitting in the back of a truck bed. "Oh, Davie, Ben, Asher, Marie! I want to introduce you to someone. Guys, this is Bella. She's a friend Philip picked up in Port Angeles. Bella, I want you to meet my buds Davie, Ben, Asher, and Marie." he said.

Marie, the only female in the group, was a short, petite blonde with blue eyes. She was pretty by human standards, however, compared to Rosalie and Alice, she was nothing special. She looked me over and then smirked. "Oh, Kyle! This girl doesn't look a day past sixteen. Why did you invite a baby to the party?" she said.

My male cohort glared at her statement. "Shut Up Marie. I'll have you know we found this beauty at the bar," he said. Not the complete truth, but not a complete lie either. I didn't bother correcting him.

Marie smirked, "Yeah, right! Just be careful with this one. For all you know, her daddy could be the police chief or something," she said. I blushed. She didn't know how right she was.

Kyle ignored her and began pulling me over to another group. He had to have introduced me to almost everyone here. "Hey Bella, you want something to drink?" he asked.

I was planning on saying no, but then I heard Edwards growls. Those growls broke something in me, and I suddenly had the urge to be bad. "I'll take a beer," I said.

He nodded, "Can or Bottle?" he asked.

"Bottle," I said.

"Coming right up!" he said, saluting me as he went to get our drinks.

I stood awkwardly where I was as I waited for him to return. A brief thought crossed my mind about how Jessica was probably panicking right about now, wondering where the hell I was. I pushed those thoughts away. I didn't want to think about Jessica, or how I would have to go back to Forks and face my disappointed father. Tonight, I just wanted to have fun with no worries.

Kyle returned holding our beers. He handed me mine, and I took a big swig. The beer was bitter, and it took all my effort not to spit it out, as I didn't want to embarrass myself in front of him. "It's good, "I lied.

Kyle laughed and hit his beer glace against mine. "Isn't?" he said.

I nodded and took another swig. Suddenly, a new song played on the radio. Kyle's eyes grew wide with excitement. "Oh, I love this song! Come on, Bella, let's dance," he said, pulling me into a large crowd of people.

Now everyone in my inner circle knows I can't dance to save my life, and a night of rebellion would not change that. So naturally, I fell flat on my face. Kyle laughed as he witnessed my fall. "On second thought, sweetheart, maybe you shouldn't dance," he said.

I stood up, rubbing dirt off my face. "I think you're right, but don't let me stop you from rocking out. I'll just wait over there for you," I said, pointing over to a random truck.

Kyle laughed again and told me he'd see me later. So I, with my beer in hand, somehow, it hadn't spilled on me, walked over to where I had pointed just moments ago. I stood in an open space away from the crowd, sipping my beer, when suddenly a hand clasped over my mouth, and I could feel someone pulling me away from the group.

In surprise, I dropped my drink. I tried pulling away, but a voice whispered in my ear. "Where do you think you're going, beautiful? The parties just starting." The next moment, I was being pulled into the woods.

In the next moment after that, I was roughly shoved into the arms of another person. When I had a moment to collect my bearings, I saw the spiked blonde from the bar, along with three of his buddies. All wore lust-filled faces. I gulped. "Hey, guys, what are you doing here?" I said, trying to deescalate the situation.

Mr. Spikey smiled at me in a none friendly way. "Sorry to scare you, sweetheart, but my friends and I wanted to party with you, and Kyle was keeping you all to himself," he said.

I smiled, "Relax guys, I'll party with you. Let's just do it near the fire," I said, trying to get back into public view. Edward was growling inside my mind.

Spiky walked over to me and began caressing my hair. "No, we're going to party right here," he said, then he was pushing me down.

"No!" I said, growling. I tried to run, but the guy who was holding me tightened his grip. Meanwhile, Spikey began pulling off my clothes.

Once I was bare for all to see, Spikey looked at his friends. "Joey, Chad, hold her down," he said.

I screamed.

Meanwhile:

It was dark out in the woods surrounding Port Angeles. But for the Ivanov Coven, it made little difference. The Romanov clan was a family of vampires, vegetarian vampires, mind you. So things such as darkness had little effect upon their senses.

Two members of the clan were making their way down to Forks to visit the Cullen clan. As they had recently learned from Aro, that they too were vegetarians. If you can guess, the clan didn't leave Russia often.

The two companions that were making this long journey were Polina and Valentina Ivanov. Their mates were not accompanying them. The two vampires were stopping for a quick hunt before they entered Forks, as it would be rude to hunt in another vampire's territory without permission.

Unfortunately, the two of them were not having much luck tonight. Polina growled in frustration at her lack of success. "Will find nothing to eat, while that blasted music is playing," she said.

Valentina nodded in agreement. "Well, we might as well give up and try again in the morning, or at least when the party ends," she said. Her sister nodded stiffly.

Suddenly, a delicious scent filled the area. Both vampires' eyes widened as they recognized the smell. Quickly, they stopped breathing. Then they heard an awful sound, the sound of crying. The women's eyes widened and then filled with rage as they realized what they were hearing. The two took off toward the distressed sound. They followed the sound to a secluded area, where they found a badly injured young girl. Valentina let out a curse as she ran up to the young girl. Polina just stood frozen.

Valentina looked at the girl for a few moments in sadness. "She's badly injured, and it's obvious that she's been raped," she said.

Polina sighed, "Will she live?" she asked.

Valentina frowned. "Not for long. Sigh, Humans can be such cruel creatures," she said, shaking her head.

Polina nodded in agreement. "They call us the monsters," she said.

Valentina shrugged and turned to leave when suddenly the girl grabbed her ankle. "Help me," she said.

Valentina turned and stared at the girl. "There is nothing I can do. It will be over soon enough," she said.

The girl looked at her weakly, "I, I know what you are. Please, you must save me, save me for him," she said.

The two vampires looked at each other before looking back at the injured girl. Valentina leaned down, so she was closer to the girl. "What am I, dear child?" she asked.

The girl was barely breathing now, but somehow she talked. "A vampire, you're just like the Cullens. I can tell by your eyes," she said.

Polina hissed. "The human knows about us!" she said. Just what the hell were the Cullens thinking?

Valentina held a hand up. "Calm sister, I'm sure there is a reasonable explanation for this. Right now, however, saving this child is the priority," she said. Before the human could react, Valentina sunk her teeth into the girl. Once she was done biting her, she picked her up and began running.

Polina followed her. "Where are we going now, sister? We can not show up to Forks, with the Cullen's pet like this," she said.

Polina nodded, before suddenly stopping dead in her tracks. "Shit! We cannot go to Forks, Sister. I've just seen that the girl is the daughter of the chief of police there," she said.

"Then will just leave the mainland altogether and go to Canada," Valentina said, stopping at her car. Popping the trunk, she laid the girl into it.

Her sister shrugged. "That's better for us," she said, getting into the driver's side. The two vampires then made their journey to Alaska.
