Rainbow Colours: I actually have 2-3 unfinished original stories currently residing in my hard drive. Plus several mysteries I wrote when I was in junior high. Writing is my hobby but teaching is my passion. Actually, what I want to do is when I retire I want to write a nonfiction story about my experiences as a math teacher.
BTW: HAPPY Pi DAY! (The math geek in me insists on it. Next year it will be super Pi Day 3-14-15. Hehe.)
Violeta felt something against her shoulder. She brushed it away with her hand. The sensation came back and she brushed it again a little more aggressively.
"Vio-le-ta?" A familiar sing-song voice accompanied the little hand she now felt shaking her.
"Hmmm, what do you want, Raff?" She asked tiredly.
He pulled one of her eyelids open. "Time to play!" He announced happily.
"Go back to bed." She said grumpily pulling her head away.
"No, sun's up. It's Saturday. Time to play!" He said persistently shaking her.
"We'll play later. Go away." She said shoving him off her.
He fell off the side of the bed. He huffed and crossed his arms angrily. Then a thought dawned on him. He crawled back onto his sister's bed.
"Do you want to go flying?" He asked mischievously.
A slow smile spread on Violeta's face as she opened one eye to look at her brother.

The kids quickly and quietly dressed. Rafael pulled Violeta along and both were trying to softly get to the attic all the while trying not to giggle too loudly. Their parents had told Violeta not to use her builds without one of them supervising. But that usually meant that Rafael never got to play with his sister's neat toys especially the boogie pack. So they had to find their own time to play.
They reached the attic window. Violeta crawled up on a chest. She unlocked the window and pushed it open. She stuck her upper half as far as it would go before she would fall out. She closed her eyes and out of her back grew winged turbines. Rafael wiggled underneath her and she grabbed his middle.
"Ready?" She asked.
Rafael vigorously nodded.
Violeta launched them out the window. They free fell a short distance before she activated the turbines. They immediately gained lift and flew high into the sky.
"Wheeeeee!" Rafael cried joyfully stretching out his arms like an airplane.
Violeta smiled feeling the wind whip through her hair.
"Let's go to the park!" Rafael yelled into the wind.
Violeta nodded. She slightly shifted her left shoulder and they both turned toward the park.
"The lake! The lake!" Rafael squealed. Violeta obliged her brother. The lake reflected the morning sun as well as the surrounding trees. They flew straight through the middle. Rafael stuck his hand out into the water ruffling the still water. The ripples spread to either side of the lake. As they neared the edge, she pulled up with Rafael picking up residual water. The droplets sparkled as they ascended.
Violeta flew above the trees. Rafael stuck his feet out and kicked the top branches. Suddenly, startled pigeons flew out.
"Rafael, stop!" Violeta cried alarmed as pigeons flew around her and obscured her view. Some of them struck her right turbine. She wobbled and was unable to maintain altitude. In her panic her build started to fall apart. They fell into the top branches of some trees.
"Ouch." Violeta was draped over a branch. "Raffy? You okay?"
"That was cool!" He was sitting on the branch above her.
"You shouldn't have bothered those birds. We could have been really hurt. If mommy and dad found out they would be so mad." Violeta scolded him as she pulled leaves out of her hair.
"I didn't mean to." Rafael sounded penitent.
Violeta looked up at him and saw there were tears forming in his big brown eyes.
She sighed. He really didn't mean to. He was just playing. She smiled at him.
"Hey, we're not hurt. Let's go home before mommy and dad wake up." She said pulling herself onto his branch.
"`Kay," He said glad that his sister wasn't mad anymore.
Suddenly, Violeta and Rafael heard a lady's voice yelling. "Help! Someone help!"
Violeta pushed some of the branches away and peered out. Rafael grabbed her arm and shoved in close to see too. A few feet away a lady jogger was surrounded by a bunch of not so nice looking men holding bats. Another man laid on the ground.
"No one to help you now lady." One of the mean men said with a sneer. He held an aluminum bat and was advancing menacingly toward the jogger.
"Please, don't hurt me." The frightened lady said.
Violeta and Rafael looked at each other; they nodded simultaneously. They were thinking the same thing.

The eight men in the gang was finishing a night of serious mischief when they decided to have one last bit of fun before they turned in for the night. It so happened they spotted a lady with her companion jogging in their turf. So they decided to relieve them of their possessions. The male jogger foolishly tried to fight back and had to be taught a lesson. And since they started with violence they decided to finish it with violence. The leader advanced on the frightened woman.
The jogger closed her eyes and held up her arms to protect herself the best she could but knew it was futile. She waited for the inevitable. Instead she heard something that was like a sonic boom. When she opened her eyes, the thug that was about to smash her with the bat was sprawled on his back a few feet away. That bat was flung even further back. The rest of the gang seemed to be chasing after a flying red blur. She made out some of their words like, "Catch it. There it goes. What is it? Don't let it get away. We'll teach it to mess with us." The frightened lady was now alone with two unconscious men at her feet. With trembling fingers she pulled out her cell phone and called the police. She knelt by her male companion to check on him as she listened to the rings.
"Emergency. What's the problem?" A sudden voice from her receiver startled her.
"Please, come quick. We were attacked. A red flying blur saved us. But my friend is hurt." She babbled.
"Okay, okay ma'am. First things first, where are you?" The operator said in a soothing tone.
"We're at the city park." She sobbed.
Meanwhile, Violeta and Rafael flew through the trees.
"They're still following us." Rafael said as he looked back.
"Good. We need to lead them away from the people." Violeta gritted her teeth. The wind was stinging her eyes. Usually if she was flying high she could slow down or close her eyes but now she had to fly fast and see where she was going. She could see why her dad wore goggles. "We're almost there." She could see the clearing now.
Just as they reached the edge she pulled up. The men stumbled onto the freshly plowed field. The soft dirt made it hard to run and some fell when their foot got caught in some gopher holes. Violeta and Rafael flew back down and hovered in front of them.
"What the…" One of them men cursed.
Rafael gasped and put his hands to his ears. Violeta frowned. These were definitely not nice men.
"Let them have it, Raff."
Rafael grinned before opening his mouth.

The police finally arrived. They found the near hysterical woman and two unconscious men. As the ambulance carted her friend and the thug away, she wildly pointed to where the rest of the gang had run off to. The police followed the trail of broken branches and trampled earth until they reached the empty field. Well, it was almost empty except for the bodies that lay groaning on the ground.
"What happened?" One of the cops bent down to ask the man on the floor.
"What?" The man shouted. Obviously his hearing was shot.
The cops looked at each other with confusion. What could have done this?

Circe and Rex slowly woke up. Rex especially loved these lazy Saturdays where he can loll around in bed for hours. Circe yawned and gave Rex a peck on the cheek before she got up to start the day. A mother's work is never done. Although she was surprised the kids hadn't barged into their room yet demanding breakfast or asking for help mediating a fight, she was just as happy with the few hours of peace and quiet. She turned on the TV in the room for white noise as she walked into the bathroom. Rex just pulled the covers up and half listened to the news.
"The witness says she was saved from the hooligans when a red blur with a sonic blast knocked out her would-be assailant. Then it lead the rest of the attackers away…."
Circe rushed out of the bathroom with a toothbrush hanging out of her mouth.
"Rex! Did you hear that?" She pulled the toothbrush out of her mouth and jumped on the bed.
"Yeah, who says "hooligans" anymore?" he said sleepily.
Circe picked up a pillow and whacked him in the face.
"No, you nitwit! A red blur with a sonic blast?" She glared at him.
"Oww," Rex rubbed his nose. "What about the red blu…" Rex trailed off as his brain finally caught up with what Circe was saying.
They rushed into their children's bedrooms. Empty. Where could they be? Then canned laughter came from downstairs. They bolted down the stairs and into the living room.
There was Rafael and Violeta sitting contently in front of the TV with a box of cereal in between them. They laughed as something funny happened in the show. Rex and Circe stood there gaping at their children who were still in their pajamas.
No, it couldn't have been them. Suddenly, Rafael noticed them in the doorway.
"Mommy!" He jumped up and ran to give her a hug. Circe picked him up. Violeta also had gotten up and walked over to them.
"Good morning." She said cheerfully.
Nothing was out of the ordinary. But she had to be sure.
"What did you do this morning?" She asked carefully watching their faces.
"Pinky Panda!" Rafael announced happily. Violeta's face was a complete blank as she nodded.
A feeling of relief spread through Circe and Rex. Yeah, it couldn't have been them.
"Come on, let's go get some real breakfast." Rex said.
Rafael and Violeta's faces lit up. "Huevos rancheros?" They asked at the same time.
Rex chuckled, "Sure thing. Now go brush your teeth and get dressed." The kids scrambled upstairs. The relieved parents followed them. Thankfully they did not notice the wadded up clothes underneath the couch that was encrusted with leaves, dirt, and feathers.
So the beginning was ripped off from the movie Frozen. But then the rest kinda just came to me. I think generatorlaiba asked if they were going to have some adventure and it took a while but I finally thought of one. I hope you liked it. I have to think about "Uncle Bobo" next. And I know it's hard for some to imagine Beverly and Caesar, mainly because I haven't really developed them at all. I just gave hints, here and there. If I do a season 5, I hope it becomes clearer. I have been thinking of doing a Caesar/Beverly centered fic but I really need to finish What if… first. Still having problems pulling the images in my head into a coherent story. Meanwhile hope this one ties you over.
