Madagascar belongs to DreamWorks, Elder Scrolls belongs to Bethesda, I don't own the rights, only my oc's. I first started the crossover for my love of Madagascar and the Elder Scrolls series, and I began writing this series so I can share with you an alternate adventure between two worlds. This is a remake of the original, so I decided to put the fanfic into Act's to better keep track of the story, enjoy.
Act 1: A new adventure
Chapter 1: Dreams
The moon and stars shimmer brightly in the clear lunar sky illuminating the tropical jungles and sandy beaches of Madagascar. Down below, the forests teamed with nocturnal life of fossa, crickets and hissing cockroaches. Apart from the nocturnal life, music echoed through the jungle though, barely audible. The music wasn't thrown by humans but by animals, the native life of Madagascar, the lemurs and party animals of Madagascar.
Down below on the white coastal beaches of the island, an open hut rested, with the furniture being made entirely out of sand and stone, while the door, bar stools, and roof was made out of palm leaves and bamboo. Hanging from the ceiling is an operational fan, along with puffer fish lamps giving the hut a more coastal cabana feel, with a bit of a penthouse mix. To some many would believe a human made the hut, but to their surprise the builder is more of an equine, a zebra, and by looking at the wooden bar placard the zebra's name is Marty illuminated by the fire pit in the center of the hut.
Speaking of whom lying on the sand couch is the said black and white steed, Marty groaned restlessly, not from the bite on his butt he got days ago, nor was it from him nearly getting eaten by the fossa, but something far worse and far more darker. The dreams or nightmares he's been having began two days after the fossa's defeat, again he groaned desperately trying to stop the dream from happening or force himself awake, but to no avail it persisted.
-Marty's dream-
A pair of four hooves clopped on the rocky mountainous terrain of Madagascar, the zebras' emerald green eyes looking up at the two large mountain walls centralizing into a forty foot tall, by fourteen foot wide, by thirty five foot long crevice. Marty looked back towards the fossa side of the island and further back the lush green jungles of Madagascar, a sigh escaped from the zebra facing the large wall ahead of him.
"Another dream-" he muttered to himself "-but, this one's different?" the zebra couldn't quite place it, but something was off and it wasn't the dream itself, mustering what courage he had, he ventured through.
Traversing through the wall's crevice is no easy feat especially for the zebra, who in turn tries to navigate in the dark while trying not to trip on the rocks he's walking on, or he thinks they're rocks. A small dim light is seen at the end of the tunnel and it brought Marty relief, having fallen twice on his barrel, he's been traversing the crevasse for thirty minutes which gave him enough time to realize the other dreams were more of small glimpses than a full on view. With some more navigating the monochromatic steed is nearly at the end, until his right fore-hoof slipped on something wet, making him fall on his barrel again, his stallion bits nearly missing a smooth white rock inches behind him. Carefully he began to get back up, now recognizing what he landed on is both soft, hard, and wet, but the smell got his attention, to him it smelled of putrid rot.
"Ugh-" the zebra gagged, now smelling a slight metallic scent "-what did I land in?"
Wanting to get a better look Marty quickly began to rush out of the crevice and into the cloud covered light, standing on his hind legs the equine looked down and what he saw horrified him. Blood and bits of rotted flesh covered the barrel of his black and white striped coat, frantically he searched for water, in hopes to wash it off, he gagged, dropping to all fours after hearing the mushing of rotted flesh.
The zebra gagged again "ugh, this is disgusting!"
Fortune smiled on him after finding a small pool of water, rushing over he began to wash it off, he didn't even get half of it when his hoof bumped into something. Looking closely at the water, he noted the blood red tint to it, then the half bisected body of a fossa corpse. Screaming back Marty just stared at the body, looking a bit to his left he saw the other half, he gulped upon seeing the creature's guts strewn across the ground. Having not gotten rid of the rotten flesh of him Marty gagged, the putrid odor reminding him that he's stuck with it. Having no choice but to ignore the smell and the feel, Marty began to take in his surroundings of the rocky canyon he's now in, the canyon was straightforward with a fork in the road going two ways. Taking the path to the right and venturing forth, he wasn't sure what he was going to find, but a gut instinct told him something was here and that this dream isn't normal.
Rocks, that's all that Marty could see, usually a canyon there would have some form of vegetation or life, but all he noticed as he walked were rocks and dried splotches of blood. Terror set into the steed, being as how he was deep in fossa territory filled him with an unease of being ambushed, but now the feeling of dread began to worm its way upon seeing the blood and skeletal remains.
Trudging for hours was not easy on Marty or his hooves, the zebra winced every time he stepped on a pebble or large stone, and to top it off the rotten stench on his barrel started to get worse. Finding a large boulder near him the equine sat on his haunches and rubbed his hooves and picked the pebbles out of his hooves.
"Ugh this terrain is killing my hooves, i wasn't built for this, damn pebbles" the zebra complained to himself while deciding to rest a bit longer, so he could ease the pain from his hooves. All the while he began to take in his surroundings, the feel of this place was foreboding, other than the rot on his barrel, the smell and presence of death filled the air, but a feeling of sadness too filled the air, a sadness that filled the air with grief and tragedy.
After his short five minute rest was done Marty Continued his venture all the while noticing more skeletal remains of some fossa along with some lemur bones and surprisingly human bones. Silence that's all there is, trudging through the small field of bones filled the steed with more dread than ever, so much so that he felt like wetting himself. As he was walking though, he felt a dark presence, then whispers, whispers of the dead calling out to him, it's as if their souls are restless and are wanting release. Deep down Marty knew in the pit of his stomach, he was getting close, this dark feeling whatever it was, was getting closer, with his heart beating fast he pushed himself ever closer to the source.
KA-BOOM
The largest clap of thunder shot Marty a foot in the air and nearly shitting himself after hearing the loudest boom in his life, louder than any of the lightning storms in New York. Glancing up towards the sky made him curious why there wasn't any rain and got his answer, ears flattening and mouth hung open in fear, the clouds and sky turned blood red, the lightning itself following suit. Seeing the lightning gave the steed cold chills down his spine, he was starting to get close now, gulping, he continued down the smooth rocky path. Taking a left on a curved junction, Marty ran into a horrific sight of skeletal remains ranging from fossa, lemur, to even more humans, dried blood covered the ground where the remains lay blotting out all the grey on the rocks. Catching his eyes and ears is a fresh trail of blood roughly an hour old and what sounded like a child crying, pinpointing the crying was leading down the path away from the graveyard, he went to investigate. Following the blood trail and wailing led the zebra through a small curved trail into a dead end not far from the path he was on, looking for the source of the blood and crying he noted the wailing stopped when he got near.
"Who's there? I'm not going to hurt you, please come out" he saw it now, the blood trails origin and the crying pinned to the stone is a dead fossa its lower half severed from its torso with fresh blood still dripping to the stone and mixing in with the spinal fluid, stomach acids and other bodily fluids. Just below it was a fossa cub, the young one was half starved and nearing death's door Marty backed away, saddened upon finding the dead body of the cubs mother. A glint of black caught his eye, a long black object sticking out of its chest. Getting a better look, the steed realized now the object he's seeing is a black, grey and red curved sword roughly four to five feet in length, the red marks streaking on the blade, with its pommel representing a curved axe blade, its handle connecting to a curved hilt.
He felt the fossa cub nuzzle up to his leg and looked down, saddened, he didn't want to see it die even if they tried to eat him, so he decided to take it with him. Marty never really babysat before, nor did he ever raise a foal, being as how the zoo didn't have any zebra ladies, it didn't stop him from thinking about having kids.
The cub mewed as Marty lowered himself "you want to come with me, I could watch after you if you like", the cub mewed and placed it's paws on his muzzle. Knowing the cub looked to be a month old, he's surprised it lasted this long, letting it hop on his back, he recommended that it hold on as he rose.
The monochromatic steed backed out of the gruesome site, but he worried for the cub surly it watched its mother get butchered right in front of it, either that or it hid as she was getting slaughtered. Just the thought made Marty's stomach queasy, but still seeing the dead body in front of him with that sword made him worry about what was out there.
Red lightning flashed above him, followed by a large crack of thunder, forcing the steed to continue with a now terrified fossa cub. Reaching a downward slope Marty gawked at the sight before him, mounds and mounds of bones from the many victims that died in such grueling fashion, that a mass graveyard was formed. He walked through the open graves for what seemed like an eternity, the stones under his hooves were covered in dry blood that no grey was ever seen. The fossa cub mewed in fright upon seeing the piles of dead amongst a pile of bones in a bloody sea, Marty reassured the cub that everything was going to be okay, he had to find food somewhere for it. Luck was on his side as he came across a carcass, though he didn't really like the fact of a creature eating another creature, to which he experienced nearly costing him his life, but he had to make sure this cub survived. Once the cub got its fill the two moved on, but as they continued forward Marty felt hot, he heard the cub begin to pant on his back, what was causing this heat, it felt like he was in a blast furnace.
It took them a while to leave the graveyard, but when he did, he began to hear a faint noise coming from up a steep hill ahead of them, groaning and shaking his head in annoyance. the zebra pressed onwards. By the time he reached the top of the hill Marty's hooves and legs were shaking in pain, from both the heat and the exhaustion of the climb, he sat on his haunches to rest, but relaxation didn't last long when he found the object causing the heat and his visions.
There it stood proudly and intimidatingly in front of both Marty and the cub, the equine couldn't fathom at what he's now looking at nor the reality of what it is. In front of him is a large narrow arch roughly twenty four feet tall, thirteen feet across at the base, and eighteen feet across in the center. The top of the structure is flat with a slight overhanging point on each side, while going down the sides of the structure is a row of five curved spikes roughly three feet long going down each side. It was the center though that got their attention, a reddish orange and yellow portal swirled and hummed, along with an unbearable heat the could singe their coats off if they got any closer. Electricity arced from the arches to the portal's center warning the equine that the portal might be unstable, a bolt struck a large metal spike roughly two stories tall with the tip being covered in fresh blood, making the zebra whimper in fear at the sight of it.
They just kept staring, this strange portal was something out of a fantasy novel or movie, yet it wasn't, it hummed with power and crackled with sparks, thunder boomed, telling the zebra it was real. Living in the zoo most of his life, yet when he made a wish to see the wild and all its wonder, he never anticipated Alex biting his ass or this portal. Yet a question began to form in his mind, what is this thing and where did it come from. A glimpse in the portal caught his eye, squinting to see it, he made out what appeared to be snow capped mountains, 'what is that place' he thought.
His thoughts and questions were soon interrupted when the sound of heavy metallic foot-falls came behind the large obelisk, its humming being drowned out by this new yet oddly familiar sound. 'Are- are there people here?' Marty thought to himself, as his ears swiveled trying to pinpoint exactly how close they are and if they're hostile or not. Unfortunately he got his answer when the cub hissed in defense, the so called people he thought walked from behind the arch closer than he realized. He had a good view of them one was with grey skin with two curved horns on his head, he wore a black robe and had a mace made out of the same material as the sword. He glared at the zebra with glowing blue eyes. Next, to the zebra's fright is not a person but an winged behemoth with charcoal black scales, the head of a dragon, large spikes jutting out of its back and two large wings, but what shocked Marty the most was the creatures size, it stood at the size of a two story building dwarfing the person next to it by a titanic amount. The zebra started to back up slowly the fossa cub growling, he started to get a feeling in him, the same feeling when Alex the lion his best friend, tried to kill not only him, but Gloria and Melman too, he heard the titan growl at him and the cub, his ears folded back, he wanted to run but was to paralyzed by fear, he couldn't move all he heard was the cubs growls, his breathing and their breathing.
Marty summed up the courage to speak, he wasn't sure if they'd speak at all but he had to try. speaking the words that were on his mind he asked "w-who are you?".
The humanoid replied in a monovalent tone "servants of domination".
Again Marty spoke, this time he asked the question he wished he hadn't "why are you here?"
The humanoid looked at the beast, then back at Marty "to follow our master's command-" he unsheathed his weapon "- by bringing your gutted corpse to him!"
If the zebra and cub weren't terrified they were now the two creatures started to advance on the equine and fossa with the grey humanoid unsheathing his mace. Paralyzed with fear Marty just stood shaking glancing at both of them as they started to get closer and closer. He snapped out of his trance when the cub jumped off his back and lunged at the draconian creature, the titanic beast laughed at the cub, it's bites and clawing unable to pierce its scaly hide. Not wanting this beast to hurt the young one he lunged at the foe in hopes to stop it, seeing this, the titan smacked Marty away making him skid on the ground. Moaning in pain, his heart stopped when a cry of pain and terror assaulted his ears, in a split second he watched helplessly as the cub's now lifeless body got flung to him. A large gash running along its upper to lower body exposing the organs, its soft mews turned to pain only for them to go silent after giving its final breath.
He's never seen death before, he's heard about it, but never truly seen it, until now, standing over the lifeless corpse of the fossa cub, he fell to his fore knees in sorrow. How could those things do this, especially to one so innocent and why would they do this, the humanoid walked up to him and slowly began to raise its weapon. Marty looked up in time to see his impending demise, a sense of dread falling over him, it was then a woman's voice screamed in his mind.
"RUN, RUN!"
The monochromatic equine took off, his hoofs echoing on the rocky terrain, the mace following suit after it missed its target, looking back he saw the humanoid give chase and was horrified that it was catching up to him. while the draconian behemoth lagged behind several meters. In seconds the biped reached the steed, but Marty had none of it and gave a swift kick to its chest, a hard thud behind the steed drew his attention to the now motionless corpse of the grey biped, its spiked mace laying next to it. Marty's victory though was short lived, when he was sent flying back several feet landing hard on the ground, groaning in pain the stallion looked to what hit him and layed eyes of terror on a growling titan. Slowly getting up in pain Marty watched the behemoth rushing towards him, he quickly dodged a swipe from its claws, and returned by kicking it in the leg, but instead of hearing pain the steed heard a form of reptilian laughter. Looking back in worry Marty saw why, his hooves didn't leave a dent in its thick scales, a small mark, but no dent, the zebra was flung another several feet from it, and ended up smacking his back into a boulder. Yelping he tried to get up, but didn't get the chance to when he tried to, the beast rushed him, grabbed him by the barrel and flung him nine yards away.
The pain was unbearable, when Marty landed and skidded to a halt, when he tried to get up though he screamed when a loud snap came from his right foreleg. Landing on it wrong must have broken it. He tried to will through the pain after he heard the roar of the titan, carefully he stood up and began to limp away from the creature. Marty stopped to catch his breath only to smell through the air the rotted flesh and blood he fell in earlier making him nearly lose his stomach from both the stench and pain, he managed to get some good distance from the beast, but at the same he felt it was right next to him. A roar caught the zebra's attention with terror coating his face and adrenalin shooting throughout his veins, the equine, with three good legs made a mad dash to find an exit, only to find the only way he came in was out, and began to run through the boneyard in an effort to flee from the beast.
A thunderous boom crackled over head followed by a commanding voice that shook the sky, "LEAVE NOW WRETCHED CUR OF DOMINATION, YOU'RE NOT WELCOME HERE!" the masculine voice bellowed at its target, but somehow Marty felt no threat from it, but an ease of calm and protection.
The zebra's skin began to crawl upon hearing another voice replying to the other in a more sinister, and venomous masculine tone, "YOU THINK PETTY WORDS WILL CHASE ME OUT OF HIS MIND AKATOSH, YOU'RE STILL WEAK FROM FIGHTING MEHRUNES DAGON. YOU CAN'T DEFEAT ME ALONE IN YOUR CONDITION!".
A feminine voice soon joined in on the defense of this Akatosh'' WHO SAID HE WAS ALONE!". Marty heard growl come from the darker one, clearly he was furious at the outcome.
Marty skidded to a stop, he looked up at the now collapsed entrance, worry and terror struck him, he had to find a way out and fast, seeing the other path of the canyon, he limply rushed to any chance of salvation. The dark voice shook the ground in anger "HOW DARE YOU INTERVENE MERIDIA, YOU SHOULD'VE JOINED IN THE CONQUEST, YET YOU PLAY WITH AKATOSH, HOW DISGUSTING!".
Meridia scoffed at this malevolent fiend and gave her response "JOIN YOU! I'D RATHER BE WITH STENDARR THAN JOIN THE LIKES OF YOU!"
The voices left only to be replaced with thunder above mixed with emanating sounds of battle and a fierce angry bellow, distracted by the conflict above caused the poor equine to run into the side of a mountain. A cracking sound followed by a painful ringing brought Marty's senses back, a bellowing roar reminded him of the danger he's currently in, looking around he realized too late he hit a dead end, trapping himself. Turning in hopes to get out before that beast arrived, he began limping out of the large canyon, but it was too late the beast stood staring at him at the end of the rocky path he took to get here.
Marty began to back slowly away, but as he did the beast began to slowly advance forward as if it was taunting him, knowing full well the zebra was trapped. Grinding its razor sharp claws on the side of the rock walls to sharpen them, the zebra gulped seeing this monstrosity raise its claws in admiration for the coming slaughter of its new target. Whimpering Marty knew fighting was his only way out, but he knew he wouldn't last long even with his broken leg, chances of him getting out alive in one piece is slim, very slim. they soon began, circling each other both Marty and the biped dragon started to size each other up while looking for any signs of weakness in their defenses, but Marty saw none in his opponent and worry began to morph on his face. Roaring out and charging, the fiend took advantage of Marty's defenseless state, raising its right claw it hopes to end its target with one fell strike across his body. Marty, as fast as he could, quickly dodged the attack, couldn't, dodge the size of it's claws and winced after getting slashed over his left flank to the top of his haunch.
Staggering after his dodge due to his broken leg, he didn't have enough time to dodge a second blow to the side of his barrel, though fortunately the creature only swatted him. Groaning from being knocked down, Marty watched him inhale deeply only to smoke billowing from it's mouth and release it, in complete terror Marty rolled to his right, almost being cooked by a wall of fire. Gasping, It was quite clear Marty is outmatched and outclassed in every way, and he had to find a point of attack quickly or make a fast escape, standing he had to make a choice.
Thunder boomed overhead followed by a roaring cry from Molag Bal "RAH, HOW COULD YOU DEFEAT ME? A LESSER DAEDRA AND A WEAK DIVINE!"
"MANY YEARS HAVE PASSED SINCE MY FIGHT WITH DAGON, BUT HOW I DEFEATED YOU WAS ALL IN OUR ALLIANCE AND FAITH TO STOP YOU, AND TO PROTECT MORTALS AND STOP DAEDRA LIKE YOU!" Akatosh explained knowing full well his mission as well as Meridia's is of the utmost importance, but knew failure was high regarding the appearance of a titan.
Molag Chuckles evilly " YOUR ALLIANCE! YOUR ALLIANCE MAY BE STRONG, BUT THE EMPIRE YOU HELPED CREATE IS FALLING APART, SO ASK YOURSELF AKATOSH, IS YOUR ALLIANCE TRUE OR ARE JUST DESPERATE".
Marty was completely perplexed from the argument overhead, his thoughts hitting a wall in an attempt to figure out what she said, " what are they talking about and what's this empire?" the zebra mumbled to himself. Inquisitive as he was, the zebra's distraction proved costly by giving the titan enough time to plan its final and crippling attack, upon giving its roar the behemoth charged. Marty didn't have enough time to dodge the oncoming attack and was batted away by a swing from the beast's large clawed hand, the steed was sent flying further in the large coliseum like arena. Groaning Marty slowly tried to stand up only to wince from his broken foreleg and a stinging pain from his lower barrel, looking down the zebra screamed in horror, half of his intestines were visible from the foot long gash on his lower barrel, his blood gushing out. Looking at the beast's claws, blood trickled only to be liked by the creature itself enjoying the taste of its soon to be kill, Marty in desperation tried his best to crawl away from the monster as it slowly began to walk towards him savoring the moment.
Evil chuckling was heard overhead, Molag the source of the laughter began to speak, but what he was about to say would make Marty's blood run cold, "FAITH!? YOUR ALLIANCE MAY BE STRONG, BUT YOUR FAITH IS THAT OF A DEAD CAT. HE'S IN MY DOMAIN IT MAY NOT BE COLDHARBOUR, BUT ANY IN DOMAIN I CRAFT MORTALS DIE. (evil laugh) YOUR RUNNING OUT OF TIME MY MINION WILL TEAR HIM ASUNDER AND HIS SOUL WILL BE MINE!"
Marty listened horrified by what Molag Bal said, but at the same time he now knows who's responsible for his nightmares, and was disturbed that he controls them. Hope was on the verge of fading from Marty, knowing full well the beastly creature was almost on top of him, his life began to flash before his eyes, meeting his friends for the first time, hanging out together having hopes and dreams, all of them soon to be snuffed out. Yet the titan kept taking its time enjoying the sight of the zebras fading light, it smelled the fear and blood, along with the now forming puddle of urine, fear was at its fullest, now was the time to make the kill.
Raising its claws to strike, Marty closed his eyes, waiting for the final blow, tears flowed down his muzzle and his cheeks, realizing his life is over, and he won't ever meet his friends again. Fate on the other hand proved to be on the steeds side, a bright golden light beamed from above staggering the behemoth back, Marty opened his eyes as the beam finally ended revealing a green glowing humanoid. The figure stood in front of him separating the steed from the beast in a more defensive manner, taking it as a challenge the creature roared.
Molag Bal scoffed, infuriated at this interloper " HOW DARE YOU SEND YOUR CHAMPION (scoffing) NO MATTER I WILL TAKE CARE OF THIS MYSELF!"
A thunderous boom erupted above followed by a now falling grey and blue cloud. Once the cloud dispersed Molag Bal stood in all his glory at thirteen feet, he walked on a spiked tip hoof and had the body of famine yet his strength was eternal. His legs were that of the hind legs of a horse (inverted at the knee's), his hands had claws sharper than the titans. Finally he glared at Marty, his eyes a pale ice blue and cold as death itself and had two horns curving outwards from his lower temples, he gritted his fangs at the steed, his fangs resembling spears.
Marty laid there, blood running cold upon seeing the one who's been trying to kill him, at first he thought the titan was bad, now he wished he didn't. He watched this new foe glare at the titan commanding it to cease its advance and it did, though at what he saw it wasn't more obedient than fearful of its master. In front of him the glowing green figure recognized the threat and formed a shield around the two of them, it quickly went over to Marty and began to tend his wounds.
Not wanting to lose his prey Molag Bal attacked, with a powerful blow he struck the shield, causing it to quiver under his attack, he wasn't going to let a champion take his prize away. "SURRENDER MORTAL, SURRENDER TO YOUR DEATH!"
Above Akatosh and Meridia could feel the shields power dwindling from it and knew it didn't have a lot of strength left for another attack, Akatosh's his mind rushed in nervous thought ' Hurry whoever you are, get him out of there '.
Marty could see the shield quake and begin to fade, but watched at the same time to see the figure's lips moving, above a golden light began to shine, he felt and watched in surprise as his wounds began to heal. With his organs no longer outside and his foreleg no longer broken he felt better than ever, but at the same time he still felt like he was gutted, even though his guts were back in. Again the shield shook, cracks began to form along the barrier, Molag Bal was close, close to nabbing him and doing who knows what, Marty was trapped, his wounds may have been healed, but he may as well be a dead zebra. To make matters worse, the glowing figure began to fade after using its energy to heal the steed, but a he felt it smile, it had one last trick up its sleeve, a ghostly voice whispered in Marty's ear 'when lights of blinding erupt, move to the portal on right'.
The voice confused Marty at first, but he understood about runner to his right-KSSH- Marty's looked towards the now failing barrier, it's energy fully evaporated leaving him exposed to the lord of domination. Molag Bal attempted to reach for the now quivering steed, that is if it wasn't for the figures final trick, a bright blinding light enveloped the arena, causing the daedric lord to roar in aggravation and cover Marty's eyes. Upon opening his eyes Marty saw his chance and quickly ran to his right as instructed and that's when he saw it his escape route, a swirling purple portal. Galloping with all his might he felt the ground shake from Molag Bal, he had to make it, he had to jump, taking a leap of faith he entered the portal it's warmth enveloping him in safety. Molag Bal neared the portal himself, but to his fury it closed before he could even reach it, his titan minion worriedly stood next to him, but it wouldn't last. In a fit of rage he grabbed his minions head and tore it off, blood squirted and dripped as he tossed it to the side and roared ferociously.
Akatosh looked over to Meridia with worry "this isn't good"
-End dream-
What a dream, this is the full remake of the first chapter, it took awhile to finish but i managed to get it done, and to note even though the fossa cub died in the dream the cub was mostly used as a symbol. As anyways I'm going to try and redo the other chapters, even the lemon in the future, but for now I'm going to focus on chapter nine through thirteen, so I could get those done. Please R&R on what you think of the first chapter redo, I'd like to hear your thoughts.
