New chapter is here! And this chapter is about the first week of Korra's presence in Zaofu. I've decided to focus more on the storyline of Kuvira and Baatar because we already know what Korra was doing at that time.
Answer to a question from the rewievs: Shouldn't be Suyin able to feel the baby's heartbeat?
Suyin surely has a good seismic sense but she had to really focus on it since she doesn't use it on the daily basis and she is not walking barefoot. But there is somebody else who already knows about Kuvira's pregnancy... You will find out at the end of the chapter.

Zaofu, the Guards' Residence the next day
It was nice sunny weather and Zaofu woke up to a new day. There were no clouds and no wind... It almost looked like summer. The sunlight was casting through Kuvira's bedroom window and her fingers were dancing in it.
Kuvira stayed in bed longer this morning... The duvet was so nicely warm and Kuvira enjoyed last minutes of rest before getting ready for the dance practise. She felt much better than in the evening and her stomach was now in much better state...
It was almost 10 a.m. when Kuvira decided to get up and make some breakfast. She was still in her pyjama and was now sitting by the kitchen table. Kuvira was sipping warm green tea and was looking out of the window on the Zaofu Mountains... It always looked so nice...
After having a lunch, Kuvira took on her training clothes and braided her hair. The dance practise should start in an hour and Kuvira decided to have a short walk before it.
When leaving the Guards' Residence Kuvira looked at the sky and saw a strange airship flying from the North. It was black and gold... Kuvira have never seen this airship before... She made a note in her head to check that airship out later...
Kuvira then headed to the gym and when she got inside, Lia was already there. She was preparing her armwraps and was sitting on the bench. She looked in Kuvira's direction when she opened the door.
"Hello Kuvira." Lia said and Kuvira said hello in return. Normaly, Lia should adress Kuvira as a captain but they were not working now so they could call each other by names.
"Are you feeling better today?" Lia asked while Kuvira was putting her bag on the bench. "What?" Kuvira was caught by surprise.
"You felt bad yeasterday. Are you feeling better now?" Lia repeated her question. "Yes. I feel much better now." Kuvira said quietly and sat down next to Lia. Kuvira didn't like that fact that Lia saw her in her weak point but she tried to hide her insecurity.
Later, other dancers started entering the gym and the dance practise could start. Suyin came a bit later today and seemed like something was happening but Kuvira couldn't find out what it was.
The music started to play and Kuvira went on her dance place. The dance premiere was in one month and their performance was now almost perfect. After about 20 minutes of dancing later, Kuvira heard that the big gym door opened but didn't look in the direction. Her and Lia were now dancing really hard part where they dance in the center of the metal bloom and have to be fully concentrated.
When Kuvira and Lia landed in the center of the bloom, it closed and they fastly got to their final position. Then other dancers opened the bloom and Kuvira and Lia were revealed. It was the first time they danced it absolutely perfectly. They were finally ready for the performance...
"That's it for today everyone." Suyin called and clapped her hands. Kuvira finally looked in the direction where the door was open and she saw a group of people with Aiwei on their side. She didn't know who that was but when Aiwei gave Kuvira that strange glance again, Kuvira looked away and rushed back to other dancers so she could leave as soon as possible...
"Who is that?" Lia asked curiosly and took her bag from the bench. "I don't know." Kuvira replied and then she heard Suyin's words. "Great to finally meet you avatar Korra. And this must be Bolin, Mako and Asami..."
"Wow, the avatar." Lia said and Kuvira had her usual neutral face expression. That black airship which she saw earlier had to be their's. Kuvira took on her bag and saw that Suyin was coming closer to her with serious face expression. Kuvira hoped Aiwei didn't tell her anything...
"Kuvira," Suyin said and caught attention of all other dancers. "I need you to add an extra security force to the Residence. We need to protect the avatar." Suyin added and Kuvira nodded. She felt relief that Aiwei didn't find out about her and Baatar...
"Are we in danger?" Kuvira asked profesionally and Suyin replied: "A group of criminals escaped the prison... we need to be guarded just in case..."
"Understood." Kuvira said and watched Suyin leave with the avatar and Aiwei. She wondered why Aiwei was acting so weirdly around her during last few weeks if it wasn't due to her and Baatar...
But there was no time for deep thoughts. Kuvira had to arrange guards's schedules all over again and add special security to the Beifongs' Residence... Zaofu was in the state of emergency again...
Zaofu, the Beifongs' Residence, few hours later
Baatar was in his father's office and watched Varrick and Zhu Li building a magnetic suit. It was already getting late and it was dinner time but they looked so focused that Baatar probably won't have a chance to see the avatar today.
"It works!" Baatar Senior said with excitement when the magnets were functional in reaction on changing the amount of electricity in the magnetic suit. "Junior, write it down!" he continued and Baatar did what his father said. It was really important for the tram station remodeling and it was a huge improvement in the transport technology.
"Finally!" Varrick said and Baatar Senior did a quick sketch. "Zhu Li! Do the thing!" Varrick shouted and his assistent helped him get out of the suit. "It was getting really hot in that suit after all afternoon." he added in his typical tone of voice.
"What!? It is already evening?" Baatar Senior was now nervous. "Comon' Junior, we have to excuse ourselve from the dinner." he added and ran out of his office.
Baatar took the papers with notes with him because there was a high risk that Varrick could start building a paper planes from it. Baatar still found him a bit crazy.
He followed his father to the dining room and when they got there, a few papers fell out of Baatar's hands. The dining room was full of people today... It had to be the avatar...Baatar thought for himself..
"Sorry dear, I am gonna have to take the dinner in my office. I've just had a major breaktrough in the tram station remodel..." Baatar Senior said while everyone was looking at him.
Baatar thought about his father's words: "I've just had a major breaktrough..." He was used to the fact that his father liked to talk in the singular... But saying "We've had a major breaktrough..." would be too much for Baatar to ask. He was getting tired of it. Baatar didn't want to sound bored or that he doesn't appreciate the chance to work but being just an assistent really bothered him…he wanted to gain experience so badly…
"Well don't let me stand in the way of inspiration." Suyin said and her words caught Baatar's attention. On her right hand side was the avatar and on her other side was sitting probably his aunt Lin. His mother was talking about her often but she didn't really seemed happy to be in Zaofu.
"You're the best!" Baatar Senior said and headed back to his office. Baatar took all the papers from the ground and followed his father. But before he could leave, he heard his mother proudly talking...
"- this was my husband Baatar and our oldest son. He engineers all my husband's projects." Baatar smiled for himself. He would love to engineer his own projects but right now... he felt like Zhu Li the second...
The last thing which Baatar heard was his mother arguing with her sister. He knew that something happened between them... this will definitely be interesting...
Zaofu, the Guards' Residence, the next day
It was already afternoon and Kuvira was getting ready for Baatar's arrival. She had a morning watch today and was looking forward all day to finally meet Baatar.
They didn't have much time for each other lately and today, they could finally enjoy some time together.
Kuvira was in her apartment and was wearing dark green tanktop and light green loose trousers. Her hair was down and she was eating her late lunch. When she got home from work, she had a headache and decided to have some rest before Baatar would come. But now... Kuvira was sitting by the kitchen table and was eating broth soup with noodles and vegetable. It always made her feel better...
When Kuvira finished the soup, she heard knocking. "It has to be Baatar..." Kuvira thought for herself. He arrived earlier than planned.
Baatar was standing in front of Kuvira's door and hided the key from the Guards' Residence back entrance to his pocket. He heard steps on the other side of the door and then Kuvira opened it. "Beautiful as always..." Baatar thought for himself.
"Hello Baatar." Kuvira said with smile and they shared a tigh warm hug.
"Kuvira..." Baatar whispered to her hair and they enjoyed being together again. They shared a loving kiss and Baatar caressed Kuvira's cheek. Kuvira then took Baatar's hand to hers and they walked to the kitchen together.
Baatar managed to finish assembling in the power plant earlier and couldn't wait to be with Kuvira. "It smells amazing in here." Baatar said when they entered the kitchen and Kuvira smiled. She realized Baatar probably haven't had a lunch since he was in the Zaofu power plant all noon.
"Would you like a bowl of soup?" Kuvira asked and Baatar joyfully accepted. Baatar always really liked the meals which Kuvira prepared but she was always saying that it is not that great.
They sat down to the kitchen table and Baatar started eating. "It's delicious." Baatar said and Kuvira smiled. Baatar would eat everything even if it tasted horrible but Kuvira decided to trust him...
"So? How was your day? Baatar asked and took one of Kuvira's hands to his. Kuvira felt warm feeling in reaction.
"Everything is so busy now. I had to plan extra shifts for guards because some criminals escaped the prison and the avatar might be in danger." Kuvira said and Baatar's face was full of worries.
"I hope they won't find out that the avatar is in Zaofu." Baatar said and Kuvira nodded. "My mother is training the avatar and her friend today. Apparently both of them can't metalbend." Baatar added and Kuvira rised her eyebrows.
"They can't? I thought your aunt was teaching her..." Kuvira was surprised. Baatar finished the soup and replied: "I was surprised as well but she apparently never even tried metalbending before..."
Kuvira was confused. She always thought that the avatar is trained in all kinds of bending and combat from early childhood... "and I think that Opal has a thing for that earthbender. I think his name is Bolin. She blushes everytime she sees him." Baatar continued and Kuvira smiled. Airbender and earthbender. Interesting duo...
After a while, Baatar and Kuvira moved on the couch and Kuvira leaned her head on Baatar's shoulder. He wrapped his arms around her and Kuvira closed her eyes.
"And what about you? How was your day Baatar." Kuvira whispered with smile. She listened to Baatar's heartbeat and felt that her headache was coming back but she tried to hide it...
Baatar caressed Kuvira's black hair and said: "It could be better... I have so much work now and sometimes I feel like I am the second Zhu Li. " he said with grin and then continued. "I wish I could finally focus on my own projects..." Baatar sighed and took off his glasses.
Kuvira felt bad for Baatar. She knew he was sad about it but he didn't want to complain to anyone or sound ungrateful. His father and Varrick were using him just for technical calculations and Kuvira was angry that they forgot Baatar was the best student of Ba Sing Se University and that he managed to graduate two years earlier than planned.
"One day... you will show everyone how good engineer you are. I know it." Kuvira said with hope in her voice and Baatar smiled at her. He closed his eyes when he felt Kuvira's warm lips on his own as she closed the gap between them... He missed it so much...
But when Baatar later looked into her eyes, he knew something was wrong. Kuvira's face was really pale and that sparks in her eyes were gone...
"Kuvira?" Baatar was worried. "Are you feeling alright?" he continued and put his palm on Kuvira's forhead to check if she's not having a fever.
"What?" Kuvira said and hoped Baatar would change the topic. She didn't want him to think she feels weak.
"You are really pale Kuvira." Baatar said with concerns. "Is something wrong?" he added and put a loose lock of her hair behind her ear.
"I am alright Baatar... I just have a headache from all that paperwork... that's all." Kuvira said in calm tone of voice and Baatar was still not satisfied with her answer but he decided not to talk about it more because he knew Kuvira doesn't like talking about her weakness...
"If you say so." Baatar said and they continued in sitting quietly in comfortable position. Kuvira leaned her head back on Baatar's shoulder and they hugged tightly. They were both tired and it was nice to relax in each other's arms.
Kuvira closed her eyes and listened to Baatar's regular heartbeat. He was gently caressing her hair and back. Baatar knew Kuvira was working overtime really often and he knew she could really do with some rest...
After a while... Kuvira's breathing became slower and Baatar knew she fell asleep... He smiled for himself and carefuly picked the blanket from the near armrest not to wake up his dear Kuvira.
He covered her with light green blanket and put his glasses on the coffe table. Baatar closed his eyes and hoped to get some rest as well. It was so nice to feel this closeness again and having Kuvira in his arms was everything he could ever ask for...
After an hour, Baatar woke up and his neck ached as it was in uncomfortable position on the couch but it didn't mind him. Kuvira was still sleeping and the sunlight was landing on her beautiful black hair... She looked so calm...
It was such a precious moment but before Baatar could took on his glasses, Kuvira's new telephone started ringing... the guards' emergency...
Kuvira quickly woke up and her eyes opened widely. "Emergency..." she said in a sleepy voice and stood up. She didn't plan to fall asleep like that...but on the other side, she felt relaxed and her headache was gone.
Baatar hated that person who was calling right now... "It better be important." he said and watched Kuvira running to pick up the telephone.
Kuvira listened to what just happened and probably ten different face expressions showed on her face. Baatar watched Kuvira hang up the telephone and asked: "Was it important?"
Kuvira looked at him and said: "I've just got a word that your mother and aunt were fighting."
"I am not surprised. They... didn't really get along well... But why they disturb you with that." Baatar said and Kuvira walked closer to him.
"They demolished whole southern part of your terraced garden during it..." Kuvira added and Baatar's face froze. It had to be really serious...
"Are they alright?" Baatar asked and Kuvira nodded. She sat back on the couch next to him and took his glasses from the coffee table. Kuvira used fabric of her tanktop to clean the glasses and then carefuly put it on Baatar's face. She was sad that she fell asleep. They could have had such a nice time together but Baatar unfortunately had to go back to his father's office and Kuvira had to send a few more guards to Beifongs' gardens...
Baatar smiled when Kuvira put the glasses on his face. She kissed him sweetly and rested her forhead on his own. "You should wake me up earlier..." Kuvira whispered and Baatar wrapped his arms around her waist.
He knew they could do some funnier activities together but he was glad that Kuvira finally had some rest. He looked into her eyes and said: "At least I made sure you had some proper rest today..."
Kuvira smiled. "I'm having a night watch the day after tomorrow... maybe I will find some time to visit you when the watch ends..." she whispered to his ear and Baatar's heart jumped. He liked the idea of that..
"Sounds perfect." Baatar replied and Kuvira smiled. They both stood up and Kuvira quickly took on her uniform. She needed to get to the Beifongs' Residence and Baatar as well... Little did they know at that time, how many serious events is going to happen in the next few days...
Zaofu, the Airship station, the day after tomorrow
It was two days since Suyin's and Lin's fight and a lot of things had changed since then. Opal decided to go training to the Northern Air Temple and Baatar's mom and aunt seemed to figure things out between them...
The guards still had emergency and Kuvira spend most of her days at work. Guards were checking everyone in the streets but there were no signs of those dangerous criminals...
It was getting late and Baatar and his family went to the airship station to say the last goodbye to Opal before she leaves to the Northern Air Temple. They had a special dinner and Baatar felt sad. He will miss his little sister. Opal was the closest to him and she always cheered him up when he needed it.
However Baatar was proud of Opal and was glad that she managed to convince their parents to do what she wants in her life... That she choose to follow her own way...
When the elevator lifted all of them on the airship platform, the door of the elevator opened and Baatar saw Kuvira with radio in her hands.
His heart jumped and he gave her a warm smile while passing by her. Kuvira saw Baatar smiling at her and she gave him a smile in return. She hoped she will have time to visit him after her night watch ends today...
She watched everyone saying goodbye to Opal and instructed other guards to prepare the airship. When it was done, Opal got on board and everyone was waving as the airship was leaving...
"Lock it down for the night." Kuvira radioed to other guards and the domes started to close above their heads.
Baatar looked at the airship for the last time and then turned back at Kuvira. She was still a bit pale. Baatar knew something was going on but unfortunately Kuvira was really good at hiding it... He will have to figure it out...
When the Beifongs' were leaving the airship station Baatar and Kuvira shared secret loving look and Kuvira secretly caressed his hand while passing by each other...
Zaofu, the Beifongs' Residence, late night
What once was a calm night watch in the Beifongs' Residence, turned out to be the worst nightmare in just a few minutes...
Zaofu was attacked by the Red Lotus during late night and the avatar was nearly kidnapped... Kuvira and all guards fought against those criminals but they turned out to be more powerful than everybody thought... Kuvira didn't understand how did they got in... it was impossible..
The Beifongs' Residence was full of explosions and everybody was fighting to protect Korra... Baatar with his father and Huan were helping the injured because it was the only way how they could help as the nonbenders in such a hurry...
Two guards were hurt by the explosion of that combustion bender and one guard had a burn from the lava.
Baatar hoped Kuvira and others will make it safely...
Kuvira and rest of the guards managed to surround the Red Lotus and Kuvira called: "We have you surrounded! It's over! Release the avatar!" but before she could continue, the lava started to spread everywhere...
The only chance to save Korra was to use metal cables and all guards had to keep them busy so Suyin and her sister could pick Korra up...
Kuvira stole the glider of that airbender with her metal cable and they tried to capture him together with Kai... but he attacked them with his airbendig and they lost the balance...
When Kuvira got up, she saw Lin and Suyin saving the avatar and being metalbend back on the top of the dome.
The Red Lotus was surrounded. They couldn't escape now... but before Kuvira could get back to them, the airbender created a mist which hided them all... when it disappeared, the attackers were gone...
"Search entire estate!" Kuvira ordered and all guards did what she said. They couldn't escape so far...
Zaofu, Aiwei's office, an hour after attack
Kuvira and all other guards who were on patrol tonight were standing in the corridor. It was decided that Aiwei will be questioning all of them. They searched entire estate but there were no signs of the Red Lotus... they disappeared like ghosts... somebody had to be helping them...
"I don't understand it." Theo said angrily. "How could they get inside... We were guarding every square meter of the Beifongs' Residence... It was simply impossible to get in unseen." he added and Kuvira thought about his words. How was that possible...
"Guard Theo!" Aiwei called from his office in the same moment when Kai was coming out of there. Theo entered the office and the door closed behind him.
"I don't think it was one of the guards..." Kai said and Lia agreed. Kuvira was thinking the same thing and she tried to figure out who else could it be... but noone came to her mind.
"If not guard, then who?" Kuvira asked him with neutral face expression and Kai think about that for a while.
"What about that Varrick... He came to Zaofu in the similar time as that criminals escaped the prison-... " Kai said but Lia stopped him. "It wasn't him. They've already questioned him..."
"It doesn't matter... He's possible threat. I will keep my eye on him." Kai said in a serious tone of voice and Kuvira nodded. Baatar once mentioned that Varrick escaped the prison and that he's a bit crazy... It was better to have him under supervision...
"Captain Kuvira!" Aiwei called and Kuvira was disturbed from her deep thoughts. She didn't know how these criminals got in but she was now more worried about Aiwei's strange behavior during last few weeks. He was frowning at Kuvira really often and she was worried he could fakely accuse her...
Theo got out of the office and Kuvira took a deep breath. She had to calm down... When Kuvira entered the room, Suyin and her sister were there together with the avatar and her friend. Aiwei was frowning and ordered Kuvira to sit down.
Kuvira tried to be as calm as possible. Her conscience was clear and she was ready to answer all questions about the attack... but she hoped Aiwei won't ask her about anything else..
"What is your name?" Aiwei gave Kuvira the first question and looked right into her eyes.
"My name is Kuvira." she said and tried to keep her breathing calm.
"Where are you from?" Aiwei continued and he was now frowning even more. "Why is he doing that?" Kuvira thought for herself and tried to keep her face expression as neutral as she could...
"I was born in the village not so far from here and I live in Zaofu since eight years old..." Kuvira replied and Aiwei took a deep breath like he would want to say something but at the end he decided not to...
"Where were you last night?" Aiwei said and Kuvira's heartbeat got faster. Something was going on but she couldn't show her insecurity...
"I was guarding the Beifongs' Residence since the evening..." Kuvira said and Aiwei gave her the last question.
"Do you have any knowledge of the people who tried to kidnapp the avatar?" he said and raised his eyebrows.
"No..." Kuvira replied and no more words came out of her. It took Aiwei five seconds to finally speak. He gave her a strange glance and then said: "She's telling the truth."
Kuvira felt relief and stood up. When she was leaving the office she couldn't stop thinking about Aiwei's strange behavior. Was he talking like that to all other guards? Kuvira wondered as she was leaving the corridor... The last thing she heard was Aiwei ordering Hong Li to get to his office...
Zaofu, the Beifongs' Residence, the next day
All the guards in Zaofu were still in the state of emergency... It turned out Hong Li was the one who helped the Red Lotus with attacking the avatar but Kuvira had mixed feelings about all of it...
Why would Hong Li helped them? And how would he even contacted them? Kuvira still couldn't believe it... There was something strange about it...
Kuvira was now in her office in the Guards' Residence and had to gave Hong Li's shifts to other guards since he was now arrested. Kuvira opened the first drawer of her working table and her eyes got wider... Her logbook with guards' schedules was gone...
It wasn't even in other drawers and Kuvira was nervous. She was always locking her office and the key was platinum so there was no chance someone would open the door by using metalbending... She was sure she put the logbook to the drawer after the last time she was using it.
Kuvira searched entire office but there were no signs of her logbook. There were also no visible demage on the lock or the door... Kuvira went back to her table and took a deep breath. She couldn't believe Hong Li would be stealing in her office...
After a while, Kuvira heard somebody knocking on the door. "Come in." she called and stood up when Aiwei and the avatar with her friends entered the office.
"I believe we found something what belongs to you..." Aiwei said and handed Kuvira the logbook. "It was in Hong Li's apartment." he added and Kuvira still couldn't believe it.
"I don't understand it. I always keep my office locked. How could he get there without me knowing it..." Kuvira said and look at the avatar.
"We will have to ask him." Korra said as Aiwei walked out of the office... they all now followed him and Kuvira sat back down. Her headache was showing up again and she will have to reorganise all shifts all over again...
...
After two hours of paperwork, Kuvira sighed and closed her eyes. She thought about the last time she had the logbook in her hands... It was on Monday evening. The day when she felt sick after that fried rice...Kuvira remembered that when she finished planning the schedules, she put the logbook back to the drawer and immediately rushed to the restroom because she knew she would throw up again... and she forgot to lock her office...
It could be probably ten minutes opened. Kuvira quickly took the schedules as she wanted to look if Hong Li was on patrol during Monday evening.
Kuvira quickly went through the pages but the one she needed was gone... Somebody ripped it off... Kuvira knew there was something more about all of that. If Hong Li was really guilty, he wouldn't rip off the page which could gave him alibi. And Kuvira knew that Monday evening was the only possibility to steal the logbook... She quickly took her helmet on and headed to the Beifongs' Residence... She might knew who really stole the logbook...
Zaofu, the Beifongs' Residence, ten minutes later
Kuvira rushed to the Beifongs' Residence as fast as she could. She was out of breath but she knew she had to find Suyin immediately.
While running across the southern terrace of the gardens, Kuvira heard really loud noise. It was like an explosion... The ground was shaking and Kuvira saw a pillar of smoke above Aiwei's house... She was now 100% sure he was the traitor...
Kuvira ran inside the ruins of Aiwei's house and found Suyin, her sister and team avatar here... "Is everyone okay?" Kuvira asked with concerns. She couldn't catch breath but tried to hide it as much as she could.
"Aiwei was a fugitive. Get all available guards to search him out inside. And find out where this tunnel exists immediately." chief Beifong ordered and Kuvira bowed. As she went back upstairs, she wanted to run but she simply haven't enough energy for that. Since the Red Lotus attack, she barely had some sleep...
…
The only thing left after Aiwei were just some fresh tyre tracks. He had to plan his escape for a very long time... When Kuvira and her team of guards returned back to the Beifongs' Residence, they were ordered by Suyin to have some rest. After a week of emergency all of them were so tired...
Kuvira would normaly protested and insisted on staying at work as long as it was needed but tonight... the only thing she could think about was her bed.
She was so exhausted that when she got back to her apartment on midnight, she almost fell asleep in the doorway. Kuvira just took on her nightgown and went straight to bed... It was such a chaotic week...
...
Kuvira slept all night and all morning. She was so tired after the Red Lotus attack and after previous guards's emergency... that she slept almost 16 hours...
The fact that Aiwei was a traitor all the time was still bothering Kuvira. How did she never notice... She was a captain, she should sense something was wrong much earlier... but it totally caught her by surprise...
When Kuvira woke up in the afternoon, the domes were opened and it was nice sunny day. However Kuvira didn't felt that great. Her legs were heavy and her stomach was churning... Kuvira sat up and immediately regreted that decision. She sighed because that move was probably too quick for her stomach and Kuvira felt that sour taste in her mouth again. She knew what was going to happen...
Kuvira quickly threw away the duvet and ran straight to the bathroom. She got there just on time because when she got closer to the toilet, she immediately started vomiting... Kuvira was sitting on her heels and all food she had in her stomach got out in three waves...
When it ended, Kuvira moaned and sat down on the cold tiles in her light green nightgown. Then she put locks of her long black hair behind her ears. Kuvira leaned her head back to the wall and was taking deep breaths as she hoped her nausea would fade away.
But it wasn't the case. After few minutes, the next wave of vomiting arrived and Kuvira's stomach was now totally emty.
Kuvira sighed in frustration and slowly stood up. "Holy spirits" she said in defeat and flushed the toilet. Kuvira slowly walked closer to the basin and brushed her teeth while watching herself in the mirror...
She was pale and her long black hair was messy. Kuvira tightened the grip on the basin and turned off the faucet. She really needed a shower.
Kuvira took off her nightgown and threw it to the laundry basket. Her breathing was now calmer as she entered the shower corner and let the drops of warm water running down her body.
"Monday and Saturday." Kuvira thought for herself as she closed her eyes and leaned it on the cold shower wall. She sighed and realized she threw up twice this week...on Monday and on Saturday...
"Saturday..." Kuvira barely whispered and then she opened her eyes widely. It was already Saturday...
Kuvira's heartbeat was now really fast and she quickly ran out of the shower. She took on her light green bathrobe and rushed to her bedroom. Wet footprints were on the carpet and waterdrops were falling from Kuvira's hair as she headed straight to her working table.
She grabbed her table calendar and quickly studied all the pages... Her hands and legs were shaking from fear so Kuvira had to sat down on the edge of the bed. When she found the page she needed, the calendar fell out of her hands...
"Oh no… oh no Baatar...what have we done... " Kuvira said and her breathing was now heavy. It had to happen that morning in Baatar's bedroom when Suyin almost caught them. "No, no, no..." she was now panicking. "This can't be true." she was now crying from fear. Kuvira's period was late and she haven't bled in almost two months...
Everything made sense now. Her fatigue, her headache, her nausea and Aiwei's strange glances. He felt two hearbeats in Kuvira instead of one... He knew it all the time that's why he was acting so weird around her...
Kuvira was sitting on her bed and she was shaking from fear. She was still in shock and she didn't know what to do... her breathing was fast and she was crying. It was her first tears after many years... There was a new small life inside of her...
After a while she whispered the scariest three words ever: "I am pregnant..."
Soo Kuvira finally found out...the baby was conceived in the chapter 10 and Kuvira didn't knew about it untill now. She was so focused on her work that she didn't see the signs which her body was giving her and I think it really suits to her character. The work comes first...

This chapter was really difficult to write since there is many time skips but I wanted to keep the details that both Kuvira and Baatar weren't present during Lin's and Suyin's fight and that when Kuvira was leaving Aiwei's demolished house she was walking really slowly. I hope you liked the chapter.
