Guest 1: Someone mentioned once that they wondered if one of the twins would have Maisy as a middle name. But I'm sure that anyone who hasn't read my fanfic Six's Story wouldn't know what it was in reference to. Sorry, you'll have to read it (Shameless self-promotion!)
X: Oops, I made the correction to the names. Like I said had a senior moment. I also call my daughter by my son's name and my son by my daughter's and sometimes I just call them "hey you"!
Guest 2: When the kids were little my husband had a joke that when a diaper needed changing they were my kids and when they were being cute they were his. I was not amused. I think many parents have some variation of that. But the police thing? I would like to see that too… hmmm.
I do not own nada.
"Okay, last call for the bathroom! Are you sure you don't need to go? We have a long drive ahead." Rex looked at his two kids.
"No dad. I already told you I went." Violeta said impatiently.
"Don't gotta go." Rafael announced.
"Are you sure, Raffy?" Rex eyed his son skeptically.
"Yes, I'm sure!" Rafael said confidently.
"Because we're not stopping until we get into Texas." Rex said.
"I said I don't gotta go!" Rafael insisted.
"Okay, then everyone in the car." Rex opened the back door to his SUV. Rafael and Violeta scrambled into their seats. After making sure they were buckled in he called Circe who was still in the house. "Honey, the kids are in the car."
"Did they both go to the bathroom?" Circe asked from inside the house.
"Yup, they're all good." Rex said.
Circe stepped outside. She shut the door and locked it. "Okay, everything in the house has been checked. All the windows are locked, electronics turned off, and the alarm is on. I think we're ready to go visit abuela now."
Rex and Circe walked to the car, which was parked in the driveway facing the street.
"Are you sure you want to drive Rex?" Circe asked warily.
"No problem. This is a 22 hour trip. I'll do half and you do half." Rex reminded her.
"You don't drive very often." Circe said nervously.
"Yeah, yeah. It's a straight drive on the highway. I'll be fine." Rex said.
"It's not you I'm worried about." Circe muttered under her breath.
"What was that?" Rex asked.
"Nothing." Circe quickly got into the front passenger side.
Rex got into the driver's seat. He put on his seat belt. Then he adjusted his seat. After that he checked his mirrors, straightening them out. He put both his hands on the steering wheel.
"Umm, Rex? You need to put the key in the ignition." Circe prodded him.
"I know, I know. I'm just getting into my driving zone." Rex rolled his shoulders and cracked his neck. Circe rolled her eyes. Finally he pulled the car keys from his pocket and put it into the ignition. He turned it. The car started. Rex shifted and stepped on the gas. The car went backwards and smashed the garage door in. Circe glared at her husband. Rex gave a sheepish grin and shrugged. "Opps?"
"Are we there yet?" Rafael asked from the back seat.

After they called Rebecca to ask her to watch the handyman repair the garage door, they started on their way to Mexico.
"We could have taken the plane." Circe said.
"That's too expensive. Besides this would be good bonding time. Road Trip!" Rex said enthusiastically.
"I have to go to the bathroom!" Rafael said from the back.
"I asked if you had to go before we left!" Rex said incredulously.
"I didn't have to go before." Rafael whined.
"No, I said we're not going to stop till be get to Texas, and we are not stopping." Rex declared.
"But I really, really have to go." Rafael crossed his legs. He started bouncing a little.
"Uh, here, go in this bottle." Rex tossed an empty sports drink bottle into the back.
"Eww, dad, that's gross." Violeta protested.
"Rex, Raffy can barely hit the toilet. What makes you think he can go in a bottle?" Circe hissed at him. "Just pull over at the next gas station."
"No, we're making good time. It's just a few hours, just hold it in."
"I can't!" Raffy started sniffling. "Daddy, please, I gotta go."
"No, we're not stopping and that's final!"
A few minutes later, Rex pulled into a gas station. Rafael shot out of the car with Circe close behind him. Rex gripped the steering wheel and fumed. After what seemed like an eternity, Circe and Rafael came back.
"Okay, are we good now?" Rex asked through gritted teeth.
"Yup." Circe said.
Rex started the car, shifted, and once again the car went backwards and rammed into the divider.

After paying the gas station manager for damages, they drove down the highway for several miles.
"Are we there yet?" Rafael asked for the twentieth time.
"Yes, we are. Don't you see Abuela's house?" Rex asked sarcastically.
"Where?" Rafael asked excitedly.
"Raffy, daddy's just being silly. I know why don't we play 'I spy'?" Circe suggested.
"Okay." Rafael agreed.
"I spy with my little eye something that's red." Circe began.
"Is it daddy's jacket?" Rafael asked.
"No." Circe replied.
"Ummm, is it daddy's goggles?" Rafael tried again.
"No."
"Is it the bump on daddy's nose?" Rafael questioned.
"What?" The car swerved as Rex pulled down the vanity mirror. "There's no bump on my nose!"
"Rex! Keep your eyes on the road!" Circe squeaked as the car moved erratically.
A second later, they heard sirens. Rex pulled over to the side and waited.
"Oh! Is it the police sirens?" Rafael brightened up.
Circe sighed as Rex rolled down the window.
"Hello, officer, can I help you?"

Rex gripped the wheel tightly as they rode in silence. He had forbade any more games. They were going to sit quietly in the car.
"I'm bored." Rafael complained.
"Shhh, we're playing the quiet game." Rex said in a loud whisper.
"I don't like the quiet game." Rafael protested.
"Shhh." Rex replied.
Rafael sat back in his car seat and sulked. He looked over at his sister who had head phones on. He reached over.
"Hey! Mom! Rafael took my mp3 player!" Violeta yelled.
"I did not." Rafael looked innocently at their mother.
"Stay on your side." Violeta commanded.
"I am on my side. Your player is on my side." Rafael pointed out.
"Don't touch my things." Violeta grabbed the player away.
"It's not yours. We're suppose to share." Rafael said.
"No we're not!"
"Yes, we are!"
"No!"
"Yes!"
"Mom! He's on my side!"
"Mom! She hit me!"
"THAT"S IT!" Rex roared. "If you two don't stop, I'm turning this car around!"
"To where?" Rafael asked innocently.
"Back home!"
"But wouldn't abuela miss us?" Violeta asked.
"Do you two want to be punished?" Rex snapped.
"Then be quiet!"
"Rex, we've been in the car for almost 4 hours now. They're getting restless. Either give them something to do or don't complain when they start fighting." Circe said.
Rex hunched over the wheel even more. "Fine, how about we listen to some music?"
He turned on the radio. Some heavy metal punk music came on. Rex relaxed and began moving his head to the beat.
"What are you doing?" Violeta asked.
"I'm rocking out." Rex replied.
"I thought you make machines not rocks." Rafael said.
"No, I'm enjoying the music." Rex said.
"I don't like it." Rafael wrinkled his nose.
"Are you kidding? This music is awesome. Let me tell you about rock music…" Rex launched into his narrative of the history of his favorite music. Violeta and Rafael listened with rapt attention.
Before they knew it they had made it to Texas.
"Rex, we're almost there. The hotel is coming up." Circe pointed out.
"Wow, that was quick. So you kids learn anything about music?" Rex addressed his kids.
"Metal rules!" Rafael asserted.
"That's my boy." Rex pulled into the parking lot of the hotel. Everyone got out of the car. As Rex and Circe walked to the lobby to check in Rafael and Violeta spotted a genuine Fender Stratocaster signed by Sly from the Trendbenders. Rafael and Violeta ran excitedly to the display case. Rex and Circe watched as they talked about the guitar.
Rex said, "See that wasn't so bad."
"Hmm, with all the repairs and ticket, it would have been cheaper to fly." Circe noted.
"But you can't substitute good old family bonding time… Hi, reservation under Salazar?"
The man at the front desk typed something into his computer. "Ah, yes, Mr. Salazar. You are all set. Here's your room key. Our free continental breakfast starts at 6AM and ends at 11 AM. Check out is at 1."
"Thank you."Rex accepted the keys with a smile. He turned around and his smile faded. Rafael was jumping up and down on the couch with the Fender Stratocaster.
"Look dad! I'm a rock god!" He said.
Rex face palmed. The livid manager walked up to Rex.
"Is that your kid?" He growled.
"No, never seen him before." Rex started walking away.
"Rex!" Circe yelled at him.
Rex hung his head. "Well, maybe I might have seen him before." He said sheepishly. "Kids will be kids."
The manager was not amused.
I'm going to stop here. This is getting too long. If anyone wants me to continue torturing Rex, let me know otherwise this is just a one shot. Yeah, this one is slightly personal… sigh… so sad.
