Chapter 10: Lightning Strikes Part 2

Outside the Headmaster's Office, Hogwarts

Hogwarts has been rather infamous due to what many people believe to be a curse in the Defense Against the Dark Arts position. Over the past few years, Hogwarts has never had someone to permanently fill that role, and those who do tends to be struck with misfortune. Because of this, few dare to test their luck and try out for the position.

Of course, if the applicant is someone who likes to face danger head on, that's an entirely different story.

This is why Yoru Tsubasa is currently outside Hogwarts' Headmaster's office. Besides going to England to fetch his younger brother Kai, who's currently at a classmate's funeral, he also went to accompany his senior, Nitoh Kyosuke, who is currently having an interview with the headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, trying to get a job as the DADA professor now that the position is open again. Kosuke is a popular professor, known to many as 'the Ancient Wizard' due to being able to replicate an obscure ancient magic that uses rings instead of a wand. He is also known as excellent in Defense Against the Dark Arts, having encountered many Dark objects and creatures thanks to part-timing as an Archeologist. Even Dead Apostles would not want to cross paths with him, as he is likely to fight them for the purpose of studying them, and wouldn't succumb to the fear that everyone else would when facing such creatures. Honestly, he wouldn't be surprised if Nitoh actually manages to turn himself into a Vampire these days.

His personal motto is "danger is the same as opportunity," which is why he's now applying for what may be the most dangerous job in wizarding England.

Tsubasa has considered applying himself. He's heard rumors that the current Potion's Master, Severus Snape, will leave the position. Potions is where Tsubasa excels in the most, and has taught for a while as an apprentice back in Mahoutokoro. It would be nice to be able to teach in one of the most prestigious schools in the World. He even talked to his parents about it, and he convinced them that despite the current dangers, he's fully capable of protecting himself.

The door of the office opened, and out steps Nitoh Kyosuke, with a bright smile that indicates that the interview went well. The man turned to his junior.

"So how did it go?" asked Tsubasa.

"Nice!" exclaimed Nitoh in English, doing a thumbs up gesture. "Professor Dumbledore said that they'll owl me in a later date for a proper evaluation. Otherwise, thanks to my reputation, I more or less got the position!"

Tsubasa simply nodded. "That's nice, Nitoh-Sempai."

Nitoh nodded in enthusiasm. "What about you, though? You're gonna take your chance for a position, right?"

"I suppose I should," Tsubasa agreed. Noticing that the door didn't close, Tsubasa assumed that Kosuke already told Dumbledore about him, so he entered the headmaster's office. It was a circular room filled with various trinkets such as multiple portraits of what seems to be the previous headmasters. There's a sword hanging in the wall, and there is also a Pensieve, and a Phoenix hanging around.

Sitting in the desk is Albus Dumbledore himself. A respected man who defeated Gellert Grindelwald, and the only person that Voldemort fears. Many considered him as the most powerful Wizard of their generation. Tsubasa doesn't know what to feel in his presence. It's as if he's in completely different world, and he shouldn't be here.

"Sit down, Mr. Yoru," the old man gestured. His voice is calm. He felt that he could be at ease with him despite his great reputation. Tsubasa complied and sat opposite to Dumbledore.

"Mr. Nitoh told me that you would like a position as well. Which one, if I may ask? Dumbledore asked.

"Potions, Professor Dumbledore," answered Tsubasa, and the old man frowned.

"I'm sorry to say, but Severus Snape still holds the position."

"Oh," said Tsubasa, hiding his disappointment. "I thought the man retired."

Dumbledore realized the confusion here, and explained, "You see, I was initially planning on rehiring the previous potions master, while Professor Snape would take the Defense position. However, due to… unexpected circumstances, Professor Snape will remain potions master for the next school year."

"I understand sir," Tsubasa nodded, and he stood up. "Sorry for wasting your time." Before he could reach the door, he turned back when he heard Dumbledore said "wait."

Dumbledore hesitated. He doesn't want to put the boy in harm. But ever since the Batlle in the Department of Mysteries, the Order is short on members, to the point that he already reached out to both the DMLE and the Holy Church, which is why Amelia Bones and Kotomine Shirou will attend their next meeting as representatives of their respective organizations. Tsubasa's mother, Miyuki, was a member of the original Order, and he wonders what she will think if he recruits her second youngest child. She might be a firm believer in fighting for justice, but she's also a mother. She would not wish her son harm.

However, Dumbledore has already called the boy's attention, and he doesn't want his trip here to be a waste, so he told him, "Has your mother ever told you about the Order of the Phoenix?"

Tsubasa isn't sure where this is going, but he nodded. "Mom mentioned it sometimes, yes?

Dumbledore, "then how would you like it if you become a member?"

Tsubasa had to double take. "W-What? Me? Fight in the Order? Against Voldemort?"

He had to say, Dumbledore was proud of his old student. He assumes Miyuki taught her children not to fear the name. She told him great things about all her children, even those who didn't study at Hogwarts. The oldest was the only one who did before the youngest arrived this school year, the boy already proving to be a promising Alchemist even if it's a course only for sixth year. And based on what he sees with those two, and what he heard of the others, all of them inherited Miyuki's intelligence, strength, and sense of justice.

"Our members have declined since the incident in the Department of Mysteries," Dumbledore told him, visibly saddened by the loss of allies and friends. "While personally I would not want it to put people in danger, to simply put it, because the war efforts for the entire year is nonexistent, we are outnumbered and outgunned."

"Did you tell Nitoh-Sempai about this?" Tsubasa asked, but Dumbledore shook his head. "I'm afraid he's too reckless, especially compared to you from what I heard." Tsubasa had to chuckle at that.

Dumbledore is being careful now. Seeing how it's the recklessness of both Harry and Sirius that contributed greatly to what they're dealing with right now, he would need someone more level headed.

"So, do you accept the offer? It's alright if you—"

"I'll do it," said Tsubasa calmly. "I'll join the Order and fight against the Death Eaters. I have nothing else to do anyway." Despite his calm and somewhat dismissive demeanor, Dumbledore can feel the determination within him, but Dumbledore didn't smile. While it was ultimately Tsubasa's choice, Dumbledore feels like he is once again involving a boy who shouldn't be here to a dangerous fight where he might not survive. But still, the boy accepted, which means that the Order of the Phoenix just grew in numbers, even if it's just one.

"Then you are officially a part of the Order. Professor Nitoh said that you two are going to funeral of the boy who died. There you will meet a person with green hair. They are also a new recruit (though technically, Dumbledore never named them a member, and Enkidu never swore allegiance to the Order. They're more like the Ministry or the Church. An independent organization with their own motives), so you should coordinate with them seeing as you are both new."

"I will," answered Tsubasa. "Thank you for this, Professor Dumbledore." The old man gave him a small smile as Tsubasa left the room. He was about to scream in excitement before remembering that Nitoh is also here and he forced himself to keep his composure.

"Did you get it," asked Nitoh, and Tsubasa shook his head. "Oh, sorry," said Nitoh, but he can't help but notice that Tsubasa seems happier than usual, but Kosuke decided to ask about it later

"So, should we go visit your brother?" That snapped Tsubasa out of his thoughts. "H-Hai. Let's got then, Nitoh-Sempai."

Tsubasa and Nitoh are walking up the hill where the funeral is taking place. None of them have spoken for a while since they left Hogwarts, so Tsubasa decided to be the one to start a new conversation.

"So, Sempai. I heard you were on an expedition last week. Did you find anything interesting?"

Nitoh beamed before taking out something from his pocket. "Oh, yeah. I found this cool dragon thing. Not sure what it is though."

Tsubasa examined the item. A small silver dragon with a green jewel on it. It looked familiar.

"I think I saw that on a book before." He thinks back of the many books he read on their Magic Room before finally remembering. "I think that's the ring of Merlin."

Nitoh looked confused. "It doesn't look like a ring." He flashed his right hand. "This is a ring."

"Yeah. There's a legend that it will answer only to the Prime Merlinian, the descendant of Merlin himself."

"Majide?" Nitoh looked kinda dejected. "Whoever they are though, they'll be very hard to track down."

"It still an important relic though. I'm surprised you've never even heard of it."

Nitoh shrugged. "I'm the first Wizard in my family, remember? I know who Merlin is, but nothing beyond him being King Arthur's Court Mage and mentor."

Finally, the two of them reached their destination. It seems like the funeral is finish, though there are still people around. Most of them are children and some teenagers. There's a weird looking blond man talking with a green haired person. Are they the person that Dumbledore was talking about?

Tsubasa and Nitoh approached the two. It was the green one who first noticed them.

"Hello there," they greeted. "You must be one of the children's relatives."

It was Nitoh who spoke for the two. "My name is Nitoh Kyosuke, and this one," he gestured towards the younger man, "is my junior, Tsubasa. We're both sorry for your lost," he said sincerely.

"It's alright," assured the blond man, who Tsubasa assumed to be Xenophilius Lovegood. After a few moments of silence, he asked Nitoh, "I believe I have seen you before."

Nitoh nodded. "Maybe you saw me in the papers. I'm quite popular, actually."

The man's face in recognition. "Yes. You're that young Archeologist, as the Muggles call them. You must have had discovered some interesting. In another time, would you be interested in talking about your expeditions for The Quibbler?"

The Quibbler? Is that a Newspaper? If it is, Tsubasa has never heard of it. Either way, it looks like Nitoh Mr. Lovegood have now struck a conversation, leaving Tsubasa with the green haired person.

"He's a fascinating man, Mr. Lovegood," they said to Tsubasa, who looked at them in mild surprise. "He seems different from the humans that I knew of. He and his daughter are more in tune with nature and other beings than they are with humans."

Tsubasa noted the way they worded that last part. "Does that mean you're not human?" That would certainly explain the strange hair color.

"It's… complicated, but yes." They then extended a hand towards Tsubasa. "Nice to meet you, Tsubasa is it? Please call me Eabani."

Tsubasa shook their hand, and seeing that no one is around to hear them, he said, "If you don't mind me asking, are you the new recuit that Professor Dumbledore told me about?

Eabani looked mildly surprised. "You're a member of Mr. Dumbleore's group?"

Tsubasa nodded. "I'm new. I was only recruited earlier today, actually."

"I see. Well, in that case, I'm only working together with the Order. I'm not officially part of it. Why do you ask?"

"Just curious, I suppose. I'm not entirely sure what's gonna happen next. Do you know?"

"I was told there will be a meeting soon," Eabani answered. "I'm not sure where, but both of us will most likely be told before it happens." They gave Tsubasa a smile. "Perhaps we could go together?"

Before Tsubasa can say anything else, he heard a familiar voice.

"Nii-Chan!" Tsubasa's brother Kai yelled, and he saw the boy running towards them.

"A relative of yours?" asked Eabani.

"My youngest brother," Tsubasa nodded.

Once Kai reached the two, he said, "you're here. Can I stay for a while? I'm still hanging out with my friends."

"Sure, why not?" And then Tsubasa remembered, "There's been a change of plans. I'm staying in Britain a little longer."

"Eh?" Kai said in confusion. "Did you get the job?"

"I got a job," Tsubasa clarified. Oh shit! He'll have to tell Okasan and Otosan about this. He'll worry about that later. "So yeah, once I sort things out, I'll figure out a way to send you back to the Japan."

"No fair!" Kai whined. "I want to stay too!"

"Baka. You know why you can't. It's dangerous," Tsubasa retorted, and he noticed some other kids coming their way.

"Come on! Lots of people live in here, and they're not going anywhere. You're staying here. Why can't I? It's not like I'm not going back for 2nd year."

Tsubasa sighed. "I knew this would happen." Shaking his head, he takes out a flip phone.

"Fine. You can stay, but I'll be watching you. Also, take this," he said as he tossed the phone to Kai's direction.

"Wait, you can't be serious!" Kai gasped.

"What's that?" asked one of the children. A girl wearing a pointy hat and a cape.

"It's a wand used by our family. I've wanted to get one of these for years!"

"You'll need that to protect yourself," said Tsubasa, and deciding to give the kid a break, he added, "try it."

Kai looked taken aback, but before he did anything, he looked at Eabani, and asked, "is it alright?"

"Of course," they assured him. "It's alright to have fun. He would've wanted it."

With a look of determination, Kai faced his friends, and as he opens the phone and types in "1-0-6", he announced, "Mahou Henshin! Maagi Magi Magiiro!"

Pressing the enter key, Kai is engulfed in red flames, and he is clad in red spandex and matching cape and helmet with a phoenix shaped visor. He's also noticeably taller, almost as tall as Tsubasa.

"The burning flame element! The red magician, MagiRed!"

Kai's friends looked at him in various states of awe.

"Awesome!"

"You look so cool!"

"Looking good, Kai!"

"I want one like that!"

"You look like a Power Ranger!"

Most of them looked at the boy who said that last part in confusion, including the two adults. "What's that?" Kai asked.

"Oh, right. It's a muggle thing, never mind."

Turning to Tsubasa, Kai said, "Thanks, Nii-Chan"

"Yeah, yeah. But you'll have to be the one to explain to Okasan and Otosan. I can't do anything if they say no."

Kai nodded, and then the girl with the hat turned to Eabani. "Ms. En— Eabani, we've talked it over, and we want to ask you, would you like to go to Diagon Alley with us after this. Lovegood-Sempai is coming too." She turned to Tsubasa, "you can come too, if you want."

"I do like to explore this world more," Eabani answered. "Would you like to come, Mr. Tsubasa."

Thinking about it, Tsubasa looked at the still transformed Kai, then to Nitoh who is far away.

"If Kai is coming, I suppose. I'm sure Nitoh-Sempai would also like to go."

Meanwhile, Luna watched as Hermione has a conversation with one of the new arrivals about the rights of house elves. While admittedly, it's rude, she could learn a lot of things by listening to other people.

Then she noticed a silver object drop from the man's pocket. She picked it up, and she got a closer look at what it is. It's a small dragon with a red jewel on it. She's sure that she's seen this before. From a book perhaps.

And then there was a flash, and Luna found herself no longer in the funeral. She's in some other grasslands, and she saw a stone with a sword stuck on it. Looking further, she realized that she's not alone.

"You should consider it thoroughly before you pick it up."

There was a blonde girl wearing plain clothes standing over the stone, and a man in white robes watching over her.

"If you pick up the sword, you will stop being human you know?"

"No, if I can make people happy with it, I'm sure it's not the wrong decision."

As the girl takes out the sword from the stone, there is another flash, and Luna found herself on a hill, surrounded by hundreds of corpses.

The same girl, now wearing knightly armor, is stabbed by another knight in red who looks similar to her, whom she had stabbed herself earlier. She looks older now, though she hasn't aged a day since she took the sword. She looked tired. Desperately holding on to something.

At that moment, the crimson knight died, her face bearing a mixture of pain and anger. And the other girl is left alone, surrounded by her mistake.

And thus ends Camelot and the era of King Arthur. A kingdom who destroyed itself.

This is the result of her dream. This is her legacy. Did she really make the right decision?

"Hey, are you alright?"

Luna is snapped back from that strange vision by the man who owned the silver dragon, who looked confused and concerned.

"Y-You dropped this," she said, handing over the trinket. She still looked disturbed, though the man didn't seem to notice

"Oh. Thank you," he said as he took the dragon. He shot her one final glance before continuing on with his conversation, as Luna is left alone with her thoughts.

"What the hell was that?"

Malfoy Manor

Francesca stared at the Dark Mark that has been tattooed to her hand. She doesn't really like it. It's cool and all, but it makes her look way too edgy and clashes with the cute Gothic Lolita image that she's trying out. Oh well. It's easy to hide, and she can just kill herself and resurrect without the mark so it won't be a problem in the long run.

That's something she's been wondering about and a reason why she decided to join Harry Potter and become his spy for the Death Eaters. How did little Tommy came back to life? She knows the process. Harry has told her, but she is still curious how her old student remained in the mortal realm long enough to get a new body.

She still remembers how the young Tom Riddle sought her, or rather him out back when she was hiding out in Albania. He was a promising dark wizard, not afraid to push the boundaries of magic. She taught him all that she could allow, and the boy was a quick learner, and once he knew enough, he stabbed her in the back and killed her. After that, Francesca didn't hear from him until a few years later, when he revealed himself and his Death Eaters in public and caused terror to the wizarding world.

Francesca looked at the other people in the room. Various Death Eaters overseeing the new recruits. Well, the only new recruits are her and the Malfoy kid, most likely to replace his dead father. Most of the Death Eaters she doesn't know, though there are some that she recognizes such as the infamous werewolf Fenrir Greyback, and surprisingly, one of the Hogwarts professors that she saw during the Tri-Wizard Tournament. Tom himself is not present in this particular room, though she's sure she's somewhere in the Manor. He wouldn't recognize her thankfully, as he knew her as Francois.

With the initiation complete, the group began the meeting, giving out tasks. She'll have to remember everyone's, not just hers. It would be suspicious if that was the case.

She is to be among the ones to reach out to numerous magical creatures. That should be easy. Roa probably knows a few apostles. Eventually, they are all dismissed, except for Draco Malfoy. Taking interest in this, Francesca uses her powers in illusion in order to turn herself invisible and simultaneously create a copy of herself leaving the household.

When most of the people who gathered have left, those who remained began to speak again, and Francesca watched. Whatever it is that they would say to the young Malfoy must be to important and top secret for everyone else to hear, which is strange considering that he's new. She watched as Malfoy's mother gasp and Malfoy himself grow pale at the task given to him.

Kill Albus Dumbledore.

Wait, what?

That's, surprisingly ambitious, especially for a young boy. Tom fears Dumbledore more than anything, so why give such important task to a rookie. It's not like Malfoy Senior is alive, so this isn't about punishing him by giving his only son an impossible task and kill him when he inevitably fails. So why is Tom doing this? Think Francesca, think! If it was her, what reason would she have?

And then she understood. The one being punished is Draco himself. His father is already dead, and he is to replace him. He's given this task because it's impossible. He wants the boy to despair as he slowly realizes that his days are numbered. For him to desperately do anything that he could to save his and/or his mother's life, only to realize at the very end that the Dark Lord might as well have given them a Death Sentence from the start.

Lucius Mafoy is dead, and this is Tom's way of punishing his bloodline as a whole.

Neat.

She should probably tell this to Harry. She's pretty sure he wants to kill Dumbledore as well. As much as she would like to keep this a secret and play with Malfoy on her own, it's Harry who knows Hogwarts the most, and will probably be the only one who can manage to break in and do the deed. Once Dumbledore falls, Tom will stop holding back. He will show his true confidence, and when that happens, then their job will be way easier.

Unknown Location

"Is that the last of them?"

Berserker nodded as she looked at the people whose heads she just bludgeoned. Roa smirked. Based on the information Prelati gave them, these are the Death Eaters sent to destroy the Millenium Bridge. It would've been a very noticeable damage, but now that all of them are dead, Voldemort would surely take notice. This is the plan. Attack them one by one. Do it in ways where it would be clear that whoever is doing this is neither a member of the Ministry or one of Dumbledore's followers. A third, or she supposed fourth party would certainly throw him off guard.

Now all that's left to do is to scatter the corpses in places where they would be easily found. Some of them anyway. She'll keep ones for herself as well. Some to add to their army, and some as fresh snacks.

The Burrow

"I'm surprised the hideout is near your house, Ms. Eabani."

"Actually, it's just the Lovegood's home. I'm simply a visitor, but I'm surprised as well. I didn't expect that I've been living near it all this time. I don't even remember seeing this place at all."

Standing over the two of them is a rather tall house, with a sign on the entrance that says THE BURROW. Tsubasa quickly realized what charm is being used to hide this place. The Fidelius Charm. An ancient spell that hides any secrets, known only to one person. If used on a place, as long as they don't reveal it to anyone, that place will remain hidden. That's why even Eabani, who lives near, is unaware of the Burrow's existence. Whether or not the charm was placed before or after they moved, they will be unaware that it's there, even if they're standing in front of it.

Now that the secret is known to them, they will be able to come and go as they please.

Knocking at the door, the two are greeted by a plump red-headed woman.

"Please come in," she said with a weary smile.

Tsubasa and Eabani obliged, and when they entered the house, they saw that there's already lots of people there. Even the new Minister for Magic, Tsubasa noted. And even more surprisingly, some the young teens that he saw back in the funeral. What are they doing here?

The two of them searched for a comfortable place to go, and they watched as more people arrive. Eventually, Dumbledore himself arrived, and the room felt silence, and it seems like the meeting is about to begin.

Omake #1: Teach me Roa Sensei!

Classroom

"Bonjour!" said Roa, with Black Irisveil in tow, who is reading the current chapter.

"Y-Yoru Tsubasa? Nitoh Kyosuke? Am I reading this right?" asked Iri in confusion.

"Why of course! It's an A.R. World after all. Did you expect everyone to be the same person and have the same name that they have in their home universe?"

"I-I suppose not. The A.R. Riders from Kamen Rider Decade all have different names after all. That reminds me, any reason why Kamen Rider Beast is involved now? I understand MagiYellow, since he did teach at a British magic school in canon, but Nitoh?"

"It's a weird story actually," Roa began. "You see, this was originally supposed to be a Kamen Rider Wizard Fic, where Kamen Rider Wizard ends up in the World of Harry Potter. Things changed though, so it's reworked to be Fate instead. But in the original draft, A Wizarding World version of Nitoh Kosuke was going to appear, and for some reason, that stuck in the new version of the story. But then again, since we did kill off a good part of the HP cast, it now makes sense to fill that void with new non-OC characters. But don't worry. He'll only have a minor role in the story"

"Still, why him instead of Haruto?"

"Why not?" Roa shrugged. "Nitoh already had an alternate professor counterpart in canon, Haruto's already headlining his own fic, and Nitoh's more fun compared to Haruto, who's bland and boring." She decided to add one last thing with a smirk. "Just like Homunculi."

Iri cheerfully nodded with a smile before the implications of what Roa said finally hit her. After all, even if she's actually just an imitation made by Angra Mainyu, part of her is still Irisveil von Einzbern

"WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST SAY?!"

But Roa pressed on. "I mean, have you seen Apocrypha? You can replace the guy with cardboard and no one will tell the difference." (Unoriginal joke, I know)

"DON'T YOU DARE COMPARE THE WORK OF THE EINZBERNS TO THOSE SECOND-RATE—"

"That's all the time that we have for now," said Roa, ignoring Irisveil's ranting. "Next chapter, Revelations!"

"CHECK IT OUT!" Yelled Irisveil, before continuing with her rant

Omake #2: Magic, Mayonnaise, and Morons

Diagon Alley

Despite the numerous posters pasted on the many windows of Diagon Alley warning about the current dangers posed by the ongoing war, the trip is still fun, even if only a few of them were allowed to go.

The group is split into three, with Nitoh, Tsubasa, and Enkidu each watching over them.

"Wow…" said Yukari in awe as she explored Fred and Gorge Weasley's brand new joke shop. So many stuff to use for jokes. So many pranks that she could do with them. Enkidu and Luna on the other hand took interest in the strange fluffy creatures in various shades of pink and purple.

"Fascinating," said Enkidu, and he turned to the red head. "You bred them?"

"Yes Ma'am," Fred Weasley, or was it George, beamed. "They're surprisingly popular. We can't breed them fast enough."

Elsewhere, Nitoh is watching two other children, Syaoran and Yukari's best friend Alex. They're in the Ice Cream shop where they are all served sundaes.

"Itadakimasu!" Nitoh exclaimed as he puts mayonnaise on his sundae, much to the children's horror.

"What's with the weird look?" he asked, unaware of their disgust. "Don't say it! You want mayonnaise too, right?" He proceeds to open his bottle so he can share his favorite food with them.

"STOP!"

And then there's Tsubasa, watching over Kai and a kid named Dave.

"Hey, let me go!" yelled Kai as he is dragged away by the two people with him to the shop where Nitoh is in.

"Shut up! You're embarrassing us!" answered his exasperated brother.

"What happened?" asked a curious Nitoh.

"This idiot here," he gestured towards Kai, "decided to climb a tower to grab a little girl's balloon."

"Whoa. That's kinda cool," the new DADA professor admitted.

"Don't encourage him Sempai!"

"Why didn't you just buy her a new one?" asked Syaoran. "It's not like it's going to last anyway."

"Don't you get it?" Kai defended. "The little girl's balloon is THAT balloon."

Besides the impressed Nitoh, everyone just gave him an unamused expression.

"You really are an idiot," sighed Tsubasa.
