HAPPY NEW (early) YEAR!

So anyway I also plan on working on a series of one shots featuring Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-man with various Marvel women and it would mean a lot if you guys would vote on the first girl to be featured.

The process to vote is simple go on my profile and vote in the poll.

Well anyway...

FOR THE HORDE!

Vereesa Windrunner, Ranger-General of the Silver Covenant of the Kirin Tor, smiled as she had a rare moment to just watch her children. Giramir, the eldest of her twin sons, was practicing with a bow and was quite proficient at it if she did say so herself. Galadin, the youngest by five minutes, was sitting in a nearby chair, twirling a dulled dagger between his fingers as he read a tome of water magic, though according to the teachers of the arcane arts who tested him and shown that while he was talented with the craft he was even more exceptional with fire spells. Both of them stood about six feet, with tanned skin, had their father's dark red hair, their mother's green eyes, though their eyes looked a little more human, tapered ears, with a slight point, and that's were the similarities between them tend to end.

Giramir had decided to take after his mother and trained in the arts of a ranger, wielding a bow hewn from a ironwood tree, a one handed broadsword, and wore a dark green cloak, leather breastplate with a dark green undershirt, leather leggings tucked into leather boots, a earth brown sash tied around his waist with the Windrunner family crest, a winged bow with lines symbolizing the breeze, as a buckle, and his partner a direwolf named Frostfang laid lazily to the right of her chair, his black fur feeling almost smooth to the touch and his paws were as big as her hands. His brother however wore bright blue robes with red leaf embrodery along the arms and around the hems of it, a dark blue cotton vest and red long sleeve shirt, blue cloth pants, and leather shoes, and he was absentmindedly stroking his mother's Shadowclaw Sabertooth Tiger, Whisper.

The scene was almost perfect, if only her husband Rhonin were here then this little picture would be complete, she also secretly wished that her sisters and brother were here. It was at this time that a young human man bolted through her door, panting and holding a envelope.

"Lady Windrunner," the boy managed to pant out, "I got a message for you from the Council. You're eyes only."

Nodding Vereesa took the envelope and proceeded to read the letter, which actually did carry the seal of the Council of Six. The Council of Six was the secondary leaders of the Kirin Tor, in the event of the Leader being unavailable, due to a variety of reasons, or until a new one was elected, why they hadn't appointed a new one yet with the death of Jaina Proudmoore was beyond her. The message read:

To Ranger-General Vereesa Windrunner,

BIt has come to our attention that King Varian Wrynn of Stormwind City has, without informing or notifying the rest of the Alliance, entered into talks with the Warchief of the barbarians, refering to themselves as the Horde. What's more he has sent supplies to their city of Orgimmar without the consent of the other members of the Alliance. We wish for him to be brought in for questioning and if necessary have a tribunal punish him for acts of treason.

With Regards,

The Council of Six

"Is there no end to this," Vereesa asked herself, knowing that there was still oceans of bad blood between the Horde and the Alliance, inspite of the dying wish, if Varian and Thrall were to be believed, of the Archmage of the Kirin Tor had been to smooth things over.

'Somethings,' Vereesa thought with a sigh, 'just never change.'

With Sylvanas and Naruto...

Naruto smiled as he watered the plants on his balcony, you see when most people thought of Naruto Uzumaki the first thought that came to mind was of him with Kyubi Cloak activated with the rest of Team Seven facing off against Kaguya the Rabbit Goddess or the loud mouth young punk dressed in a bright orange 'here I am come kill me' jumpsuit bragging about how he was going to be Hokage all this topped off with a incessant ramen addiction. The Naruto most people didn't know about was this Naruto, the one smiling as he tended to all the different flowers and herbs in his garden, humming along to a song he heard on the radio. It was also this Naruto that was baffling Sylvanas to no end. When she went and asked people about Naruto she had been treated to no end of stories about his heroism, of battles that had been won by his ability to think up and modify plans out of nowhere, and of his childhood, needless to say she had seen a little bit of that herself. But this was something that was altogether strange to her, how a mighty warrior like him could have so simple a hobby as gardening.

She was so lost in thought that she didn't notice Naruto had put down his watering can until he was right in front of her, with a slow song playing on the radio, an invention she had marveled at more than once, after all it was like having dozens of bards and minstrels in your living room.

"May I have this dance my lady," Naruto asked with a gentle smile on his face. Sylvanas was so shocked by the question all she could do was timidly put her hand in his and be swept away as they danced to the song, well he danced and she just tried to follow along. After awhile she found herself smiling and dancing along as best she could, without a care in the world. For the entirty of their dance she didn't worry about if someone was going to tell Naruto about all the atrocities she had commited, she wasn't worried about how damaged his opinion of her would be if he was told, or if she would have to run if he did. For that one moment in time they were just two people, well one living and one dead, without a care in the world.

"You do something with your hair," Naruto asked, looking at her curiously.

"No," Sylvanas responded with confusion, why did he ask that her hair was the same as it has always been.

"You sure," Naruto asked, before reaching up and showing her a lock of her hair which was a golden blonde. Sylvanas looked at it with shock coloring her features, quickly breaking away from Naruto she ran to the bathroom and looked in the mirror, and sure enough a whole lock of her hair was the exact color it had been when she was alive.

"This shouldn't be happening," Sylvanas whispered to herself, "this can't be happening."

Naruto stood in the living room confused, normally when a guy noticed things like that the girl would be kind of happy instead Sylvanas acted like the world was coming to an end. Any normal guy would have probably backed off and let Sylvanas cool down, but the word normal had never been used to describe Naruto unless the word not was put inbetween the two. After knocking on the bathroom door Naruto put his ear to it to discern any sounds.

"What do you want," Sylvanas asked, a edge to her voice that wasn't generally there when she talked to him.

"I just want to talk," Naruto answered, frowning to himself.

"Go away," Sylvanas said, though she secretly wanted him to come through the door. Her secret desire was met as Naruto opened the door and walked in.

"Did I upset you," Naruto asked, looking at her with concern coloring his features.

"No," Sylvanas answered, sitting with her back against the tub and her legs pulled up to her chest.

"Did I do something wrong," Naruto asked, closing the door and then sitting close to her

"No," Sylvanas answered, not sure how much longer she would be able to hold it in.

"Then what's wrong," Naruto asked, "if you told me I might be able to help."

"You can't help this," Sylvanas replied, at this point if she were alive she would be close to tears.

"Maybe I could if you just told me," Naruto said with a warm smile on his face. That did it, Sylvanas stood up and with a very upset look on her face, and if it wasn't for the fact Naruto was kind of blocking the only exit she would have bolted for the door.

"You can't fix this," Sylvanas screamed and pulled on the lock of blonde hair, "because I am dead ok. I was killed, had my soul ripped out and shattered into who knows how many pieces, and I had to poessess my own body."

It was at this moment that Naruto's face screwed up in confusion, not quite comprehending what he was hearing.

"How can you be dead if we're having this conversation," Naruto asked, sure he had seen people resurrected by the Impure World Resurrection jutsu but there was always something wrong about them, for example the whites of their eyes were pitch black.

"It's difficult to explain," Sylvanas answered, hoping that Naruto would leave it alone, no such luck.

"Simplify it," Naruto stated, trying to figure out how he could help his friend. Sylvanas sighed, not even sure where to begin.

"Have you heard about the Scourge," Sylvanas asked, hoping to try and make this as quick as possible.

"Kinda," Naruto answered, "some plauge that swept across your continent and almost wiped you guys out right?"

"Yes but it also did something else," Sylvanas answered, "anyone that was killed by the Scourge was resurrected."

"Resurrected," Naruto parroted increduously.

"As a mindless soldier in the Army of the Lich King," Sylvanas stated matter of factly, "well one day I had heard reports of villiages burning along our borders, I was the Ranger-General of Silvermoon City at the time, so I ordered some of my subordinates to investigate."

Naruto nodded his understanding, not so much at the terms she was using after all he had never heard of anyone called the Lich King or a Ranger-General, but he could see that this was proving to be theraputic for her so he let her talk.

"It wasn't until three weeks later that the Scourge, being lead by a human named Arthas that I actually figured out what happened," Sylvanas said.

"And what did happen," Naruto asked, looking at her and knowing what direction this was going.

"He killed everyone in the villages," Sylvanas answered, "just to build his army. After that I tried to hold him off as best I could, traps on every street, archers on roof tops to thin his numbers, hit and runs, but none of it worked. Eventually we had to fall back and hope that he didn't find a way past or last defenses."

Sylvanas sighed and rubbed the bridge of her nose, it is at this point if she could cry she would, and her voice took on a mournful tone.

"Within a night he tore our last defense apart, we fought , and then he had me on the verge of death," Sylvanas said, starting to wish she could cry, "I begged him to kill me you know what he said, 'After all the problems you have caused me death would be too good for you, I shall make you suffer for your defiance.' He tortured me after that, for Elune knows how long, and just when it seemed death was close, that I would rejoin my people, he ripped my soul from my body and turned me into his servant."

Naruto was appalled by what he heard, after all what kind of monster did things like this, killing entire villages, right down he assumed to the children, just to boost their own army? What person would not give his enemy the honor of quick death, but instead tortured them? And honestly how did you tear a person's soul from their body?

"What happened next," Naruto asked instead, looking at Sylvanas with sympathy.

"Under his orders I marched against Silvermoon City," Sylvanas answered, "all so he could have the Sunwell for the Scourge. Thank Elune that it blew up so he couldn't get it. It wasn't until a few years later that I felt his control on him begin to slip. After he was seemingly defeated I gathered a few of the undead that had slipped from his control and we carved out a living in a place we came to call the Undercity."

Naruto nodded with a smile, after all he had to carve out his niche in life, but it just so happened that that niche had seen him climb the ranks of Konoha's shinobi corps and seen him become the next in line for the title of Hokage.

"The rest is a story for another time," Sylvanas stated matter of factly, looking at Naruto and hoping he would let it drop. Her hopes were answered when Naruto walked away just after nodding to her. Quickly Sylvanas walked out of the bathroom, her stomach having a hollow feeling to it.

With Bargrom...

Bargrom stood behind the counter at the bar Naruto had gotten him a job at and sighed, you see he had been thinking about the girl he had met with Naruto. As far as Naruto had told him she was considered a princess here, after all she was from a very prominent clan that had been around since the village's founding. Where he was from he had to be of equal or greater standing to even begin thinking about courting her, that was unless he committed a act so great as to be considered legend. At that moment he heard the bell above the door ring, putting on a quick smile he looked toward the door and he saw the woman he had been thinking about, in a lavender tunic, beige pants, and high heeled sandals.

"Hello there," Hinata greeted, taking a seat at the bar.

"H-h-h-hi," Bargrom greeted back with a stutter, feeling his cheeks heat up as she giggled.

"You know I used to be just like that," Hinata stated with a small smile, resting her chin in the palm of her hand.

"Like w-w-w-what," Bargrom asked, inwardly cursing himself for the stutter.

"Stuttering over every word," Hinata answered, looking at him.

"I don't believe you," Bargrom stated, looking at her increduously. After all to him she was the picture of grace and confidence.

"It's true," she said, giggling, "it was especially bad around Naruto."

"H-h-h-how so," Bargrom asked, cursing the fact that his stutter came back.

"We used to date," Hinata answered, "but before that I had the biggest crush on him."

At that Bargrom could feel his stomach drop, after all if she had been courted by one of the village's greatest heroes, if the stories were to be believed, what chance did he have. Then an idea struck him, maybe if he could beat Naruto in single combat he might have a chance, well it was either that or hunt a dragon and since dragons were considered sacred around here that was out. Smiling he did his best to continue the conversation with Hinata, even with the stutter, while trying to formulate a plan to beat Naruto, or find some exceptionally powerful creature or opponent, which ever was easier.

Meanwhile in the realm of the gods...

One of the gods looked down on Azeroth and smiled to themselves as it witnessed the human Naruto trying to comfort the Undead Queen known as Sylvanas. Although the whole power of love bit seemed a bit cliché, oh well was probably another God or Goddess working their magic to slow burn her back to life, if they just returned her life to her she might go insane so there was wisdom in the action.

The god moved it's all seeing eye towards Kalimdor and saw a black splotch in what would otherwise be a beautiful picture.

'So the fallen has made his move huh,' the god thought, examining the splotch 'Then we shall require a champion of our own.'

Grinning the God got to work, looking for someone in the past, present, or future to sound the clarion call of the Light.

So to put a damper on everyone's spirits no, Naruto will not be the Champion of the Gods, I already have plans for him.

So anyway sorry I didn't get this out sooner, had finals and the dreaded Christmas shopping season.

Anywho let me know what you all think in the form of a review or favorite.

Till Next time...

Why so serious?
