Hi Red. Thanks for your review and suggestion. This series is mainly about the kids so I'm a little hesitant to write a story with the adults. I'm thinking of a separate fic for Six and Holiday about their lives together and it will involve some of those ideas. I might do something about Rex and Circe too at some point. But since that won't be for a while I thought I'd give something sort of like it… well, not really. But I hope you like it anyway.

PokeKing Charizard: Glad you liked it.

tl34lt12: I guess it does sound like the guys from King of the Hill but the names are sort of from the original story. Hehe. Hope you like it though.

I don't own GR.

"Hey." Rex said softly to Circe.

"Hey." She smiled tiredly at him. "Say hi, to Violeta."

Rex looked at the sleeping bundle snuggled on her chest. "Hey, little girl. It's your daddy." He gently traced his daughter's face. She gave a yawn never once opening her eyes.

"I think she's tired." Circe smiled. "I think we both are."

"Well, you both had a long 3 hours." Rex grinned at her.

"Technically, 15." Circe corrected. "But yeah, it was long. Sorry for slugging you."

Rex shrugged. "It's okay. You were in a lot of pain and the jokes weren't helping. I get it." Rex touched the side of his face. "See, doesn't even hurt anymore."

Circe looked sheepish. "Still, I should have been more… diplomatic."

"Well, in fairness, you did ask me to stop." Rex moved his jaw gingerly back and forth. "I promise next time I'll listen."

"Next time?" Circe closed her eyes tiredly. "I don't know if I can do a next time."

"Don't worry about that right now. Let's just get use to this time first." Rex bent over and kissed Circe, then the baby. "I love you." He said to both of them.

"I love you, too." Circe smiled.

The nurse walked in. "Mr. and Mrs. Salazar? Sorry to interrupt. We're going to take the baby to clean her up."

"Okay." Rex stepped back while the nurse expertly picked up the child from her mother. Violeta woke up and began crying. The nurse immediately swaddled her. When she was nice and tight in the bundle she stopped crying and went back to sleep. The nurse then carried the child out.

"Can I come, too?" Rex looked back at Circe to see if she needed him. She nodded that he could go.

"Sure, come along, Mr. Salazar." The nurse waited for him.

Rex trotted next to her, his eyes never leaving his sleeping child.

"Is this your first?" She asked.

"Yes." Rex affirmed.

"Well, perhaps after the bath you can hold her." The nurse offered.

Rex's eyes shot from his child to the nurse. "Me?" He squeaked.

"Well, yes. You have to hold her at some point." The nurse looked amused as his surprise.

"Yeah, but I don't know how to hold a baby." Rex muttered. "Well, I've held Kenji and the twins. But that's different. They weren't my babies."

"Don't worry. It's easy. Just make sure you support her head." She said as they walked into the nursery. Rex waited outside while the nurse entered the cleaning station. He watched the nurse clean his child from the window. He could hear Violeta wake up and start protesting the water. The bath took no more than a few minutes but Rex felt like it was an eternity.

Finally, the nurse emerged from the room. Violeta was wrapped tightly and sleeping again. The nurse motioned for him to take a seat. Rex looked over at some rocking chairs set up on the side. He looked at the nurse who nodded. He sat down and waited.

"Hold your arms like mine. Yes, that's it. I'm going to put her head in the crook of your arm. Just make sure it's supported. Yes, that's fine. There." The nurse stepped back looking at the nervous father. "Relax, she's not going to bite."

"But I might drop her." Rex held himself stiffly.

"No you won't." The nurse insisted firmly. "Now relax. And enjoy her." The nurse left to leave him alone with the baby.

When the door closed behind her, Rex settled into the seat slowly rocking back and forth.

"Hi, there Violeta. We named you after my mother, your grandmother, your abuela." He told her. "Welcome to the world." He stopped stumped as to what else to say. He shifted uncomfortably. The baby woke up and scrunched up her little face.

Rex recognized that look. " Oh, no, no, no! Don't cry, don't cry." He said in a panic. He glanced at the door for help but it remained firmly closed. Violeta started her wailing.

"Shhh, shhhh." Rex bounced the baby gently up and down but she continued her small cries. Rex in desperation started signing.

"Hush little baby, don't say a word."

At her father's song, she relaxed a little. Her face untwisted. When Rex saw it was working, he continued.

"Papa's gonna buy you a mocking bird. And if that mocking bird don't sing, Papa's gonna buy you a diamond ring. And if that diamond ring don't shine…"

Rex realized he didn't know what the next thing he was suppose to buy.

"Papa's gotta find a word that rhymes."

If the baby was upset by the improvising, she didn't let it show. She was fast asleep. Rex relaxed into his seat. He smiled at his child.

"Oh Violeta, we're going to have so much fun together." Rex whispered to her.

Violeta yawned in response.

Wrote this in an hour during a snowstorm. Hope you like it.
