This is for NextGeneration18 who asked for a Violeta going out with Noah's son story. Hope you like it.

Yanicchi:Thanks. I'm glad you like it.

Cheese8888888888:You flatter me. I'm blushing. You know I don't know what I'm doing right? Glad you are enjoying it.

X: Always good to hear from you. Thank you for your continual support.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! My kids have some Irish in them.

I do not own anything.

16 year-old Violeta bounded down the stairs, dressed to go out. She checked herself out in the hallway mirror.

Rex looked up from his paper. "Wait, where are you going?"

Violeta rolled her eyes at him just like her mom. "Aiden and I are going to see a movie tonight."

"Aiden Nixon?" Rex asked incredulously.

"Is there another Aiden Nixon you know?" Violeta raised an eyebrow.

"Well, he'll soon be non-existent if he's taking my baby girl out." Rex grinded his teeth together.

"Oh come on dad, we're not going out. We're just going to a movie together. Uncle Noah told you last week."

"Puhleese, if Noah had told me his son's taking out my daughter, I think I would remember." Rex snorted.

"Hey Rex, it's Noah."

"Huh?" Rex had his cell cradled to his ear as he attempted to continue playing his video game against Bobo.

"Look, buddy, Aiden has an extra ticket for that new movie out. He told me he asked Violeta to go with him. I thought I'd check to make sure it's okay with you." Noah said on the other end.

"Sure, why not?"Rex asked absentmindedly as he moved his controller around erratically.

"Well, remember that motorcyclist you almost dismembered for saying hello to her on the street?"

"Uh-huh." Rex tilted to the left. "Hah! I'm ahead by two laps! Beat that!"

"Phuh, you drive like my grandmother… and she's dead." Bobo scoffed.

"Rex, are you listening to me?" Noah snapped.

"Yeah, sure listening." Rex's tongue stuck out from the side of his mouth from sheer concentration on the game.

"You're too over-protective of Violeta. You know one day she's going to actually go out with boys and you can't kill them all."Noah lectured.

"Right, kill them all." Rex agreed.

"Ugh, I'll talk to you later." Noah hung up in disgust.

"Yeah, he didn't say a thing to me." Rex was glowering now. Just then the doorbell rang. Violeta opened the door. There stood a blond-haired blue-eyed boy.

"Good evening, Uncle Rex." The young man greeted politely.

Rex was saved from saying something he would regret by Circe who walked into the room wiping her hands on a dish towel.

"Hello, Aiden. Make sure Violeta's home by 10." She said.

"Sure Aunt Circe. Come on Vi." Aiden moved aside so that Violeta could squeeze past him. He smiled at Rex and Circe before closing the door behind him.

"The nerve of that kid!" Rex burst out.

Circe looked at him in surprise. "It's Aiden, Rex. He and Violeta played together when they were little. We even use to bath them together."

"But now he's a teenager, Circe. A teenager! Do you know what teenage boys think about?"

"The same thing you think about?" Circe asked.

"If that's the case, I'd have to kill him." Rex growled.

Circe rolled her eyes and returned to the kitchen.

Rex sulked in his armchair. Then he brightened. Getting up, he went upstairs.

Knocking on the door of his son, he waited a few minutes. When there wasn't any answer, he knocked louder. When there was still no answer, he just opened the door.

Rafael had headphones on. He was jumping up and down playing air guitar.

"Rafael!" Rex yelled.

Rafael jumped in surprise as he pulled his headphones off.

"Hey dad, wuz up?" He asked.

"We're going on a little outing." Rex answered.

"I thought we'd get a bite to eat first." Aiden told Violeta as they walked into a small take-out joint.

"Cool." Violeta answered. She glanced up at the menu board. "I'll have the carne asada taco with guacamole."

"And I'll have the fish taco." Aiden told the man behind the counter.

The man nodded and went to fill their orders.

"This place is a little divey but their food is awesome. Dad told me about it." Aiden said conversationally.

"Sometimes dives have the best food." Violeta agreed.

Outside Rex sat in the car with Rafael.

"Are we going in, dad?" Rafael asked.

"No." Rex said tersely.

"But I'm hungry." Rafael complained.

Rex wordlessly tossed him a granola bar as he adjusted something on his goggles.

"Why are we just sitting in the car?" Rafael continued as he peeled back the wrapping on his granola bar.

"Shhh," Rex hushed him.

"You know we're sitting in a car across the street. We could be blasting the stereo and she still wouldn't hear us." Rafael observed wryly.

"Shhh," Rex said again.

Violeta and Aiden walked out with their food. They were eating and talking oblivious to the car behind them.

"Dad, why are we following Violeta and Aiden?" Rafael asked with his mouthful.

"We're not following them." Rex protested.

"So we're driving without the headlights behind them slowly becaaause…." Rafael looked skeptically at his father.

"I like driving in the dark." Rex said in a tone that said Rafael would get it if he continued.

Rafael leaned back and munched on his granola bar.

Aiden and Violeta finally reached the movie theater. They walked in. Rex pulled the car over.

"Uh, dad." Rafael tried to get his father's attention.

"Not now. They're in. Come on, before we lose them." Rex hissed, jumping out of the car.

Rafael shrugged and followed after him.

Rex walked up to the ticket booth. "Excuse me, what's playing that teenagers would want to see?"

The agent stared at him incredulously. "Sir, all the movies here are teen friendly."

"No, I mean uh," Rex realized that perhaps he should have thought this through.

"Dad, Violeta went to see Dawn of the New Day." Rafael told his dad.

Rex looked at him. "How did you know?"

"I just asked the guy what movie ticket they gave him." Rafael said.

"Oh." Rex felt stupid. "Yeah, two tickets for that movie."

"I don't want to go. It's a chick flick." Rafael protested. But one glare from his father silenced him.

Rex received his ticket and motioned for Rafael to follow him. Rafael sighed.

Aiden and Violeta sat down in their seats.

"Want some popcorn?" He asked her.

"Sure." She replied as she pulled off her jacket.

"Be right back." Aiden went out to the lobby.

Rex spotted him first. "Get down!" He yanked Rafael behind a cardboard ad for another movie. The cardboard teetered before stilling. Aiden glanced at it curiously before moving to the line at the concession stand.

Rex poked his head out before quickly hiding. Rafael was still sprawled on the floor from when his dad had pulled him.

"Get up, Rafael." Rex told his son. Rafael glared at his dad as he sat up. Rex didn't notice as he looked around the edge of the ad. A few minutes later, he frantically motioned for his son to follow. Rafael wearily walked after his father who was slouched over sneaking behind people to avoid being seen even though Aiden was obviously distracted by his purchases.

They followed him into the darkened theater. As Rafael walked down the aisle, Rex dove into an empty row. He once again yanked his son with him. Rafael fell into a seat awkwardly.

"Seriously, dad, next time you want to go spying, take Uncle Six." Rafael muttered as he rubbed the sore spot on his elbow.

Rex ignored him. He was busy trying to see the couple.

"Can I at least get some popcorn?" Rafael asked.

"You just had a granola bar." Rex snapped.

"All this sneaking around has made me hungry." Rafael noted.

"You can eat later." Rex told him.

Rafael leaned against his seat in a huff. The movie started. Rafael watched the intro. His dad poked him.

"See if you can crawl in front of them." Rex said.

"I'm not crawling!" Rafael said indignantly.

"Shhhh," The people around them shushed angrily.

"Sorry." Rex apologized. Turning to his son, he said in an even lower voice. "Come on, Raffy. Just get in front of them without them seeing you."

"No," Rafael crossed his arms stubbornly.

"You love playing spy." Rex insisted.

"When I was 5." Rafael countered.

"Shhhh,"

"Ok, sorry!" Rex snapped. "Okay Raffy, I'll go up front you stay here and see if they do anything."

"What exactly do you expect me to see, dad?" Rafael asked exasperated. "And if I see if what do you want me to do?"

"I don't know. Blow out his eardrums or something." Rex growled.

"But then everyone else's would also be blown." Rafael protested.

"Look, just report whatever you see." Rex said exasperated.

"Ok, that's it! Usher!" A man stood up.

An usher with a flashlight appeared. The man pointed at Rex. "This man refuses to stop talking."

The usher shined a light into Rex's face. Rex squinted. "Come on buddy, let's go."

"No, no, I'll be quiet." Rex said nervously.

"Too late. Come on." The usher grabbed his arm and pulled him out of the theater. Rafael debated whether he wanted to watch the movie but decided to go with his dad when two people on the screen started kissing.

He found his dad outside.

"Rafael? Where's the car?" Rex looked around bewildered.

Rafael sighed. "I tried to tell you dad. You parked in a tow away zone."

"What! Why didn't you say something?" Rex ran to where the car was.

Rafael gaped at his dad before throwing his arms up in frustration. His cell phone rang. Rafael answered.

"Hey, dad, it's mom. She wants to talk to you." Rafael handed his phone to his father.

Rex held up his hands and shook his head.

"Hello mom, dad doesn't want to talk…" Rafael began.

Rex snatched the phone and glared at his son who gave him a smug smile.

"Wait till your birthday." He muttered darkly at him. "Hi, honey… no, no, I don't know why the tow company called. The car? It's uh… don't worry. Everything's all right. No! I'm not spying on Violeta. I just took Rafael for some ice cream."

"We'll be home soon. He just finished his sundae. Love you too." Rex hung up in a panic. "Quick! Where's the impound lot?"

"How should I know? Why don't you Google it?" Rafael suggested.

"I can't. I left my phone at home so mom couldn't find me." He groaned.

"Let me call Uncle Six." Rafael opened his flip phone.

0o0

"You're a terrible at spying." Six noted as he dropped Rex and Rafael off at the impound lot.

"Yeah, yeah, thanks for the ride." Rex grumbled.

"You know, Violeta's going to grow up someday." Six said sagely.

Rex snorted. "Oh please, like you don't start sharpening your swords in the living room when boys come to take Jasmine or Jade out."

"That's different. Those are my daughters." Six smirked.

Rex glared at him as he shut the door of the car. Rafael got out of the car, too.

"Tell your mother we said hi." Six said to Rafael as he drove off.

"I doubt dad would like that." Rafael said under his breath.

A few minutes later Rex pulled the car up front.

"Can you believe what a rip off it was?" Rex was fuming about the penalty.

Rafael tuned him out as he rant all the way home.

An hour later Violeta returned home.

"How was the movie?" Circe asked as Violeta walked upstairs.

"It was okay. Not really my thing but nicely done." Violeta replied. "I'll tell you about it in the morning."

"Ok, good night, sweetie." Circe called. She nudged Rex who was sulking on the couch.

"I'm gonna kill him." Rex said under his breath. Circe smacked him over the head.

Violeta went to Rafael's room. She knocked three times rapidly then twice. Rafael opened the door.

"Thanks." She said.

"You owe me. Dad's a pain, both figuratively and literally." He said rubbing his bruises.

"Smart thinking getting him thrown out of the theater." Violeta said.

"Yeah, you know how excitable dad is. Did you like the movie?"

"It was all right." Violeta shrugged.

"Looked boring." Rafael said.

"It didn't have any chase scenes or explosions. But it was shot well."

"Should dad have been worried?"

"Of course not. It was Aiden and you know I can take care of myself."

"You know if anyone ever tries anything, they shouldn't worry about dad. They should worry about me."

"I know. Ditto."

"Well, good night." Rafael yawned.

"Good night." Violeta answered. She walked to her room and closed the door.
