Happy Father's Day! I did a father's day story for nearly everyone now except for Caesar… What surprise awaits him?

I do not own.

Angel sat on the bench by the bay window. Staring out into the distance, he waited for the familiar forest green minivan to come down the street. He impatiently shifted in his seat. Glancing down at the package in his hand, he eagerly waited for the arrival of his father.

"Angel? papi won't be home for hours. Come and have your lunch." Beverly poked her head out from the kitchen.

"Not hungry." He answered in his squeaky 5 year old voice. He went back to staring out the window.

Beverly walked over to her son. Placing a gently hand on his shoulder, she spoke to him firmly. "Sweetie, I know how excited you are for papi to see your Father's Day gift but he's busy at work today. He won't be home till late tonight. We'll have our special dinner tomorrow and then you can give him your gift."

Angel knew by her tone that there was no point in arguing. He sighed and followed her into the kitchen.

He sat in his seat and waited for his mother to place a plate of food in front of him. He was glad his mother was a better cook than Aunt Becca. Although he liked Aunt Becca, her food was a little… inedible. He looked at the gazpacho and bocadillo de queso manchego, a kind of Spanish cheese sandwich. He took a nibble of the cheese and a spoonful of soup. "Mami, why does papi have to work late today?" He asked woefully.

It was Beverly's turn to sigh. "Oh, sweetie, papi's working on something really important. He's trying to get enough power to the flux capacitor without draining the ignition battery." She stopped herself realizing that Angel probably had no idea what she was saying. "Listen, Angel. Papi needs to do his job before he can come him."

Angel cocked his head. "So if papi can finish his job, he can come home?"

"That's right." Beverly agreed.

"Okay!" He took a huge bite of his sandwich and washed it down with the soup. "I'm done, can I be excused?" He said in one breath.

"I… guess." Beverly said uncertainly.

"Thank you, mami! I love you." He gave her a slimy kiss on the cheek before running off. Beverly watched his back as he disappeared up the stairs.

Once Angel reached his room, he brushed a path to under his bed. Pulling out a suitcase from there, he pressed the locking mechanisms on either side. Hearing a click, he opened the case carefully. Inside was a jumble of wires and circuit boards. He scanned the mess before his face brightened. He found what he was looking for, now to find other parts.

Beverly pulled out the coffee machine and placed it on the counter. Turning around she went to get some water. When she turned around the machine was gone. Frowning she started looking around the kitchen for her coffee machine. After several minutes she shrugged and went to get the instant coffee. Then Beverly with her coffee in hand went to sit down in the living room to relax with some music. She picked up her CD case and found it empty. She checked around the area as well as the player but they were gone. She went to turn on the radio but it was gone as well. She scratched her head.

Meanwhile, Angel dragged all his items up to his room. For the next couple of hours he spent time cobbling his confiscated items into an indiscernible mess. When he was done, he stepped back to study his creation. Mechanical parts were held together by duct tape and wires stuck out all over the place.

"Perfect." He declared. Now, how was he going to get it to his father? There was the dimension disrupter but it made too much noise. Surely, his mother would notice. What he needed was a stealthy, quite way to drop his invention onto his father's desk. He paced his room. Then it came to him. "Breach? Hello Breach?" His Uncle Rex had warned them not to bother this mysterious EVO who was mercurial at best. But this was an emergency. "Breach!"

A red glow appeared in his room. He turned around and saw a portal. A head with a curtain of hair covering her face materialized in the center.

Now that she was here, Angel was less confident with his plan. "Um Breach, can you put this on my papi's desk?"

"Hello, cutie pie. I'd love to go visit Rex's brother. But they block me from going." She pouted.

"I can give you the code as long as you drop this on papi's workroom." Angel offered.

"Deal!" Breach said eagerly.

Angel watched his machine disappear in a red glow. He gave her instructions on how to get in.

Then Angel went downstairs to his bench to wait.

A few hours later he saw the green minivan pull down the street.

"Mami! Papi's home!" Angel shouted excitedly.

What?" Beverly came to the window to see. "You're right."

They went to the door.

"Caesar? I thought you had to work all through the night?" Beverly asked as Angel ran into his father's arms.

"Strangest thing." Caesar walked in carrying his son. He gave his wide a kiss. "An actually solar battery cell appeared on my desk. It was crudely made but I was able to use that as the alternate ignition power source so I could diverge more power to the flux capacitor."

"That's wonderful. But you should have called so I could have made a special dinner." Beverly chided him.

"Oh, sorry, we left too suddenly for me to remember." He said.

"Why? What happened?" Beverly asked.

"Breach somehow made it into our facilities. Chaos broke out everywhere." Caesar explained.

"Oh no! How did that happen?" Beverly gasped.

"No one knows, but the base was evacuated. So I went home." Caesar put Angel down.

"Papi! I have a present for you." Angel ran to get his package.

Beverly smiled Caesar carefully peeled back the wrapping paper. When he opened it, he stared at it.

"Did you make this yourself?" Caesar asked.

"Mostly. Mami helped a little with the writing." Angel said proudly. "Look, watch what it can do." He turned the key on his simple wind-up toy. It was basically a pair of robot legs with a banner that says 'Happy Father's Day.' The toy marched around the table before tipping over. Caesar picked it up.

"This is very cool, mijo. Thank you." Caesar ruffled his son's hair.

"You're welcome!" Angel beamed proudly.

"Now go up and wash your hands. I'm going to order some take out." Beverly told her son.

"Pizza with pineapples and salmon?" He asked hopefully.

"Of course." Beverly agreed.

"Yay!" Angel bounded up the stairs.

His parents watched him disappear into his room.

"Can you believe he made this?" Beverly asked Caesar.

"It is pretty advanced for his age." Caesar agreed thoughtfully.

"Caesar? What are you thinking about?" Beverly looked at her husband.

"Interesting that Rylander and I were working around the clock to reroute the power conduit. Neither of us thought to provide a different source. Then suddenly this power source appeared out of nowhere." Caesar said slowly. "Then Breach showed up rearranging the furniture in the building."

"What are you getting at?" Beverly asked.

"Hmmm? Oh nothing. I just thought it was interesting." Caesar looked up at her. "How about that dinner?"

"Oh, that's right." Beverly picked up her cell phone.

Will Caesar and Beverly ever realize that their son is a mad genius like his father with the mechanical abilities of his mother? Who knows?

Anyway, as many of you know I've been sick which is why I haven't been writing much. I'm also not motivated to write anymore. There seems to be some new people writing Gen Rex stories. I'm hoping someone will pick up my slack.

PhantomEtudes: I'll continue contributing but just not as much as before. I do hope you will write something. I look forward to reading your story in the future.

Guest: Thank you for your prayers. They are much appreciated.

PokeKing Charizard: Thanks for your continued support and reviews.

TheGeekno72: I'm glad you like it. Hope you like the others. Thanks for reading.
