Happy Mother's Day!

I was thinking of doing this for a while. It is not a typical GenRex story.

I do not own.

Characters:

Scamp: Rafael's dog now 3 years old.

Snookums: "Six's" cat (we know it's really Jade's cat)

Pappagallo: Angel's new pet Amazon parakeet

Skipper: Violeta's goldfish.

Scamp was napping peacefully under the side table when his master's relatives burst into the house. He would have ignored them if it wasn't for the peculiar scents they brought in. It took him two seconds to recognize one of them.

"Snookums," He growled.

The cat who was being held by one of girls was released to the ground. She strutted around with her tail high and haughtily observed her surroundings.

"Oh, it's you." She sniffed contemptuously before sauntering over to the nearest window, leaping onto its ledge to lounge in the sunlight.

A smaller child holding something like a metal stick tried to get into the house but because he was holding it sideways, he bounced back when he it wouldn't go through the door. Luckily, his father caught him before he fell. He deftly with one hand angled the metal to fit through the doorframe. The little boy excitedly dropped the stand right in front of scamp. From the outside a flutter of green zoomed into the house and settled on the bar on top of the stand.

"Pappagallo." He announced proudly.

"It's such a pretty bird." The other girl said.

"Pretty bird." Pappagallo agreed.

"It talks." She squealed happily.

Scamp rolled his eyes. Just what he needed a squawking bird and snooty cat to ruin his weekend nap. He yawned and tried to go back to sleep.

"Are you sure we should leave all the pets here?" The older boy asked. "I mean they could get into trouble."

"It's only for a little while." One of the girls said. "Besides, they can keep each other company."

Scamp snorted. He just wanted them to stay out of his way.

"I don't know. I don't want Snookums scarfing down the bird or fish." The boy said skeptically.

The other girl became indignant. "Snookums would never do that. She is a very well- trained cat."

"And I don't eat refuse." Snookums called out.

"That's right, Snookums. You're a good cat." The girl cooed.

"Bull hockey." Scamp snapped.

"You're just jealous because no one even looks in your direction." Snookums sneered.

"I'm not an attention hog, like you." Scamp growled.

Just then his master and his sister bounded down the stairs.

"Ok, ready to go." His master said. Scamp automatically got up.

"Oh sorry, boy. Not you. We're going to set up a picnic in the backyard for our moms. You can come out later to join us." His master scratched behind his ears. He closed his eyes enjoying the affection.

His sister looked over at the cat. "She's going to leave Skipper alone, right?"

"Don't worry, Violeta. Snookums is a very good cat." The girl reassured her.

"Ha, it doesn't matter how many times you say it. It ain't true." Scamp said.

"Sticks and stones." Snookums purred.

"Well, then let's get going." The little boy's father ushered them into the kitchen. "There's work to be done." He placed a black briefcase down in the living room.

"What's that Uncle Caesar?" His master's sister asked.

"Nothing important, just something I have to drop off at my lab later." He waved off her question.

Soon only the animals were left in the room.

All was quiet.

Suddenly, the bird starting screeching. "The horror! The horror!"

Scamp jumped up so fast that he banged his head on the table. The vase and lamp tipped over.

Snookums fell off the ledge ungracefully. She got up and glared at the bird. Her claws extended. "Maybe birdie needs a few less pounds." She hissed.

"Calm down." Scamp told her. "Hey, Pappagallo!" What's wrong?"

"The horror! the horror!" It screeched. It extended its wing. Scamp and Snookums turned to look. A man walked from the kitchen into the living room.

"How did he get in?" Scamp was upset at himself for not noticing his scent before. Then another thought occurred to him. "Where's our masters?"

"Please, I have no masters." Snookums corrected.

"Forget about that! They could be in trouble." Scamp was worried.

The man ignored the animals. He grabbed the black briefcase and backtracked to leave.

"The horror! Stop! The horror!" The bird swooped at the intruder. The man backhanded the parakeet who flew back to hit the wall.

"Hey! No one does that to one of us." Scamp attacked going for his legs. The man tried to kick the dog, but he was quicker and dodged the blows. "Help!" He called to Snookums.

Snookums hesitated.

"Come on!" Scamp barked just as a he got a foot in the stomach. He whimpered as he rolled to his side.

The man started leaving when he felt claws sink into his skull.

He screamed as he tried to get the screeching, spitting, scratching cat off his head. He screamed again as he felt teeth sink into his calves. He then felt pecking against his hand holding the briefcase. He swung at the bird who flew to avoid being hit. He moved erratically around the room knocking things over.

"Watch out!" Scamp growled. Skipper who was serenely swimming in his bowl suddenly was on the floor flopping helplessly.

Scamp saw that the man was close to the heavy metal bird stand. He ran and head butted the stand. It teetered slightly. "Pappagallo!"

The bird dove at the metal stand while Scamp charged at it. They both hit it at the same time. The metal stand tipped over and hit the man on his head. Snookums jumped off just in the nick of time.

The unconscious body lay in the living room.

"Quick! Skipper!" Scamp barked.

Pappgallo flew into the kitchen and with its beak grabbed a plastic cup. As the parrot was filling the cup with water from the facet. Snookums carefully scooped the fish into her mouth.

Scamp was about to say something when he was silenced by her scowl. She dashed into the kitchen. With a mighty leap she made it onto the counter and spit the fish into the cup. Scamp meanwhile ran out to the yard and found the families frozen in place. Puzzled he sniffed around until saw a device he had never scene before. He gingerly nuzzled it before leaping back when it trembled. When it trembled, the family moved slightly as well. This must be what was causing the problem. He growled at it and pounced. He managed to flip it over. One of his hind legs hit a switch.

Everyone began moving again as if nothing had happened.

"Hey Scamp!" Watcha doing out here?" His master walked over to his dog.

Soon Snookums and Pappagallo also came out to the yard.

"Why are all the animals out here?" The boy frowned at them.

"Come here Snookums. Don't get your paws dirty." The girl scooped up the cat. Pappagallo landed on the little boy's head as he laughed. Scamp followed hi master into the house. Once inside the children and uncle paused, shocked in front of the living room.

The door opened as the mothers entered the house. They too stopped staring at the mess and unconscious man in front of them.

"Caesar?" Beverly asked looking at him.

"I honestly don't know." Caesar shrugged. "Fascinating."

"Happy Mother's Day!" Angel ran to his mother stepping on the unconscious body. Pappagallo flew off and landed on Scamp's back.

"Okay guys… I think we better slowly back out of here." Scamp said through his teeth.

"I agree with you for once." Snookums walked backwards out of the room. Scamp turned and ran out.

"Hey! Why is Skipper swimming in a party cup?" Violeta yelled.

"Run!" The animals bolted.

So, a little silly. But why not? Hope you are all safe and well.

This was supposed to be done earlier but my husband suddenly ended up in the ER from an accident. But because of the virus I'm not allowed to be with him. He's going to be okay, I hope. But I'm just going to have to pound this out quick. I don't know when I'll be updating anything next. Sorry. Real life is not fun sometimes.
