Chapter 4

A short silence filled the cafeteria as Legoshi and Louis stood side by side as the Deer spoke up. "Its over..just go on about your business" he addressed the mammals in the Cafeteria. The onlookers began to disperse from the scene going back to there breakfast as some muttered about the conflict quietly.

"As for last night...can you and I call it even now ".Louis addressed Legoshi as the wolfs ears twitched his expression one of gratitude as he shook his head "P...please its fine...thank you for doing that Louis.." the wolf rubbed the back of his head i..if you didn't show up I would". "you were Desperately looking for a way to lose the fight just now...right".

Legoshis ears perked up as his eyes locked onto the Red deers as Louis placed a hand on the lupines shoulder. "Not exactly sure how long that's going to last for you" stepping away sightly Louis began to walk away "to be honest your more of a wolf than I thought" with this said he made his exit. Legoshi watched as the deer walked off the wolf in deep thought. (If he's the justice around here...what's that make me).

The lupine was snapped out of his thoughts as his friends called him back over to the table as they all began talking about Legoshi standing up and shouting at the two fighting mammals and how this was new from the shy and secluded wolf. As the group continued to eat and Enjoy there breakfast a sudden buzzing alerted Jack as he reached into his pocket and took out his phone.

"Awww that's right I almost forgot" the group's attention was suddenly drawn to Jack as he looked to them all shyly. "Hmm what did you forget Jackyboy" Collot spoke as the Golden Labrador stood up from his seat and backed away slightly as he eyed the closest door to him. "I'll catch you guys later..ok" And with that, the Labrador swiftly left through the door.

Legoshi and the others looked quizically at where their friend had left as they all sat in silence until they turned to The lupine who had already gotten up out of his seat. "Already ahead of you guys" Legoshi ran after Jack as the rest of the group bore knowing smiles as the lupine exited the cafeteria.

(Jacks pov)

As the labrador made his way through crowds of students his mind was rushing through what the message he received had said. (Dear student Jack...From the incident, yesterday where in which you called me about a wounded and bleeding creature... I must say it is quite remarkable I've never seen anything such as this before...please as soon as you receive this message head over to my office...Sandra).

With the message still clear in his head Jack continued his trek to the Nurses office. The labrador suddenly collided with a student as he tumbled to the ground shaking his head. "Hey watch where you're going, pal ok". He looked up to see a Large Bengal tiger staring down at him his face stern but concerned as Jack nodded his head "Y..yeah I'm fine sorry about that" The large feline chuckled before extending a paw in a gesture of help as jack accepted the offer as he was lifted up back onto his feet.

"There ya go buddy" The large feline chuckled as he patted the Labradors back as the K9 stumbled forward from the force letting out a slight yelp."Oh, s..sorry about that buddy... I guess I don't know my strength sometimes" He chuckled slightly as he rubbed the back of his head before backing away and leaving with a quick sorry leaving a stunned Jack in his wake.

Jack sighed as he turned and continued to make his way to the nurse's office. A sudden yelp made him turn around as he scanned through the crowd of bustling students trying to find who it had come from. Having no luck Jack continued on his way not noticing the bushed out Lupine tail that was sticking out from a corner.

(Legoshis pov)

"Shoot..t..that was close" The Lupine muttered to himself as he rubbed his injured tail whimpering slightly drawing the stares from other students making there way past him as he smiled sheepishly at them. Leaning around the corner Jack had already left as the Wolf begin to sniff catching the scent of his best friend.

As he began to track the Labradors scent he passed by other students making their way to classes as he bumped into a fellow Lupine. Legoshi muttered a quick sorry to the blond and white-furred wolf as said Lupine just stood shocked as Legoshi continued on his way through a double door.

"Hey, Thorn you coming" Bill a large Bengal tiger called out to the wolf as said Lupine rubbed his eyes. "Y...yeah I'm coming Bill".

As Legoshis powerful lupine nose lead him through corridor after corridor Jacks scent finally ended at the Nurses office as he began to wonder why the Labrador had come here in such a rush. Leaning against the side of the wall he slunk down as he inched his face closer to the door of the office.

"I'm so sorry Miss Sandra i...it took me a while to get here " Jack apologised slightly as he lowered his head in shame as he looked down at his feet. "Ah, there's no need for that Jack I'm just glad you came when you did" An adult cheetah replied gaining the Labradors attention as his ears perked up slightly raising his eyes to meet the felines.

"W...what do you mean Miss Sandra" Jack replied as the female cheetah chuckled slightly as she placed a paw on the K9s shoulder. "Just Sandra is fine young Jack..and what I meant about coming here when you did" She gestured behind her to a drawn curtain as the K9 leaned over her shoulder slightly to get a better look.

"It's like I said to you in the text i...I've never seen anything like it before it's fascinating" The nurse quickly went over to her desk and grabbed some documents as she handed them to Jack. "Look here...his bone structure is vastly different from any mammal I have ever seen just look at facial structure no muzzle no beak...".

The labrador quickly went through the papers in his hand skimming over some of the information the Nurse had collected. "How does he seem sandra...how is he doing," He asked the Cheetah her ears lowering slowly at the mention of him and not it. "I..im sorry Jack...it seems I got a little carried away" Sandra replied softly as Jack looked over at the downtrodden Cheetah as he sighed and placed a hand on her shoulder reassuringly.

"Hey, its ok don't worry... I can be the same sometimes so your not the only one" Jack smiled at her this seeming to improve The cheetah's mood as she moved over to the Curtains The labrador following close behind. As they looked down at the Human they began to talk about his wounds from the stab wound in his chest to his broken ankle and the large claw marks on his arm.

"I've treated most of his injuries to the best of my ability young Jack but he is still in pretty bad shape" The female Cheetah spoke as she gestured to his slow breathing form. "He is a lucky fellow...from the amount of pain he's been in its amazing he didn't go into shock let alone bleed out when you found him... I think if you had found him any later...well".

"Has he moved at all has he awoken yet or..?". Jack quickly questioned trying not to think on what could have been as Sandra as she shook her head in a gesture on no as the labrador looked back down at the Human his gaze softening. "I...just hope he will be ok after all of this...when he...came to me i...i" The Labrador whimpered as his tail tucked between his legs and he lowered his head.

Jack recalled how he had met the injured human as he was strolling back from a meeting he had with another classmate. They had been studying together as they were both in the same class and combining there research and knowledge would be beneficial to the two of them. Yet as the hours went by Jack lost track of time as he usually did and left his classmates dorm late at night as he made his way back to room 701. And as our Labrador was making his way back this was when he met the human as they collided with him in the misty dark.

"You...you know..we cant keep him here right Jack," Sandra said snapping Jack out of his Daydream. she sighed looking away from the Labrador. "I've...already broken enough rules just by keeping him here...we...need to tell the Government about him...you know that..right". Jack turned his head slightly as he simply nodded his head. "Y...yes I know..b..but can we wait...just until he wakes up, please...Sandra". The pleading eyes of Jack made The cheetah sigh as she nodded a small smile forming on her muzzle.

With this news, the labradors tail began to wag slightly as he gave the Cheetah a toothy smile as he turned his gaze back to the sleeping human.

From outside the room, Legoshi could only pick up a few words from the two as he peered through the door quickly looking at his best friend and one of the Schools Nurses. He noticed a drawn curtain as a scent made itself know to the Lupine as its trail made its way to his nose as his mind processed the new smell...i...it was... the scent of the creature.

With this new information, Legoshi began to sweat his heartbeat increasing as he slumped against the wall covering his face in his hands. (No...no why...why is it here...i...can...almsot...t...tase it f...from here). The wolf let out a slight growl this shocking Legoshi as he covered his muzzle and whimpered in fear. (N...no not again..). He began to breathe deeply slowly calming himself down as he pushed his instincts deep down inside him.

Letting out a deep sigh he lowered his hands from his face his ears drooping as he began to think. (Maybe... it's a different scent...maybe it's not here at all heh...yeah...i..il confirm it by waiting to see what...uh they are talking about). Legoshi smiled as he waited for an opportunity to see what they had behind the curtain as his tail began to slowly wag behind him.

(Teens POV)

(Urgghh why is it so dark) The teen thought as he looked around his sight revelling empty darkness as the sound of slowly dripping water could be heard. Stepping forward ripples followed each step as he wandered through the darkness for which to the teen seemed like hours. (H...how...long have I been walking for...has it been hours...days even) a sudden light blinded the teen's eyes as he moved his arms to shield them from the bright light. As the light dimmed he lowered his arms to reveal a shimmering pool of white light as our human began to step back slightly.

Tendrils of white whispy light began to wrap themselves around the teen's ankles as he looked down in terror as he began to try and pull away desperately. (G...get off me...p...please) Yet the tendrils held firm as they began to pull the struggling teen down into the swirling light. Struggling and kicking the teen tried to claw his way out of the swirling light as he continued to sink further. Reaching out a hand he tried one final time to stay afloat as the light finally submerged him as he sunk into the white light...

A warm feeling made itself known to the teen as he felt his body twitch as he let a small groan escape his lips. A sudden rush of noise assaulted his ears as he twitched more on the bed his senses slowly returning to him. Using his hands he felt around finding himself to be on a bed as he shuffled. Slightly opening his eyes he looked up to see some sort of blurred...thing leaning over him and...was that a voice he could here...was...the blur speaking to...him. "H£%y...ca!% you hear M*^"

The ringing in his ears slowly began to lessen as he heard the voice yet again. "Hey..can you hear me..." Rubbing his eyes with a weak arm the teens gaze revealed the head of Jack staring down at him with a toothy smile. The teen let out a nervous chuckle as he greeted the Happy Labrador the sound of his tail reverberating around the room. Smiling the Human extended a hand towards Jacks head as the K9 slightly pulled his head away as the teen's hand made contact with his floppy ears.

"Hey, there buddy how you doing," He said to the Labrador who hadn't seemed to realise that he had spoken as he enjoyed the teens petting. "Uhh...you ok" The human questioned as Jack quickly shook his head a blush forming on his cheeks as he looked away slightly. "Y...yeah...its...just my ears are..um a sensitive spot" The teen noticing the Labradors blush as he also began to blush "Uh..oh..um I see" he stuttered as an awkward silence filled the room. This was suddenly broken by the female cheetah appearing around the corner alarming both the human and Jack as he let out a yelp of surprise.

"Hmm, what did I miss," Sandra asked looking at the two blushing males as she chuckled slightly turning away as she grabbed a needle from a table. "Now young Jack, if you wouldn't mind moving away from the patient he needs another morphine shot" As the cheetah made her way over the teen began to shake as his eyes focused on the big cat's large incisors as memories of his attacker, began to flash in his mind.

"S..stay b...back...i...i don't h...hurt me". The teen tried to back away from the big cat as much as the space on the bed would allow as a spike of pain shot through his system. Jack looked at the teen a worried expression prominent on his features as he looked pleadingly at Sandra. "P..please stay calm...I'm not going to hurt you," she told the panicking human as she continued to approach slowly. The teens' eyes began looking around desperately for some form of escape until a golden furred hand found its way onto his shoulder.

Looking to the side the teen found Jack smiling down at him with a comforting gaze as the Labrador squeezed the teens shoulder tightly for support. "Hey... it's going to be ok...trust me" The human took an intake of breath and exhaled slowly nodding his head to the Cheetah as she cautiously approached with the shot of morphine in her grasp. The teen watched as she cleaned the area for the injection before giving the teen the shot of morphine.

"There that...should do it" She withdrew slightly as the teen absentmindedly rubbed his arm as he glanced at the Cheetah." Th...thank you Miss..." she smiled at the Teens seemingly calmer expression as she told him her name as he smiled and nodded speaking her name a couple of times. "Sandra that's a nice name...uhh and um thank you". The teen replied rubbing the back of his head with his hand as he chuckled. "No need to thank me just part of my Job...you should be thanking young Jack here he was the one who bought you to seek medical attention".

Jacks cheeks reddened as he looked away from both of them. "I...its fine...just doing what anyone else would have" The Labrador let out a gasp as he felt the human's Hand wrap wound his own as he looked at the teen with curious eyes. "I..if it wasnt...thanks to you i...i don't know...if I would be here right now..." The human quickly reached over as he pulled a shocked Jack into a tight embrace as the teen repeatedly spoke thanks of gratitude to the K9.

As Jack stood there in silence for a second his ears caught the sound of sniffling as the human shook as silent sobs escaped his mouth as tears streaked down his face. Jacks heart broke seeing someone like this as it bought back memories to when he first met his best friend. The Labrador placed both of his furred hands around the teen as he accepted the hug as he squeezed the teen slightly in a comforting manner.

The Two stayed in the embrace for what seemed a lifetime as Jacks mind began to wonder. (This...this is...nice...i...havent felt like this...since becoming friends with...Legoshi...) his tail began to wag as he nuzzled into the human slightly as he memorised the teen's scent. The sudden sound of the nurse clearing her throat snapped the two out of there embrace as she stared at them both.

"Now that's out of the way...there are so many questions I want to ask you" The cheetah practically squealed with delight as she quickly grabbed a pen and notebook. As she looked at the teen with such curiosity Jack quickly interrupted much to Sandra's annoyance. "Um..shouldent we ask what his name is" The labrador questioned as he turned to the Teen with a toothy grin.

"Hmmm, I suppose...so then...out with it" She crossed her arms as she waited for the human to give her and Jack their name. The teen shuffled slightly as he turned to the two of them as he smiled at them kindly. "W...well...hello there ...my names Forrest...and its a pleasure to meet you"...
