chapter 9

Forrest was running, his breath ragged and short as he glanced back looking behind him at the shadowy mist that was following him. Gritting his teeth he turned and glanced around for any means of escape. "Damnit stay the hell away from me demon" he shouted slipping down an alley as he dove behind a bin. Panting he rested against the wet metal of the container as he peaked his head around the bin looking down the alley. Suddenly the bin was ripped away from the teen revealing the shadowy demon as the teen crawled away in panic his eyes widening in fear.

"G...go away..l..leave me alone" Forrest whimpered as the shadowy mass encompassed the teen in a shrowd of black. Forrest cried out in terror as his gaze was filled with darkness as he thrashed around until he stumbled out of the mist only to collide with something solid. Groaning the teen looked to see a water fountain as he gasped in shock. (Th...thats..the same water fountain as the one where) he gulped and began to back away from the fountain as the water began to turn red.

(No..no no i... I don't want to be here) as he continued to back away Forrest failed to notice a figure also emerge from the dark mist as it slowly made its way towards the teen. Having enough Forrest turned on his heal only to scream as he came face to face with the Figure. It was tall as it loomed over the teen, whisps of darkness flowed from its form as it gazed down at Forrest. A set of glowing red eyes narrowed as they locked onto Forrestes own its muzzle opening revelling a set of sharp pointed fangs as it leaned down as it inhaled deeply and let out a satisfying sigh.

The creature quickly grabbed the teens arm yanking him close as it lowered its muzzle to Forrests ear. "Mmmm you smell... delicious" it chuckled as its grip tightened around the teen's arm. Forrest tried desperately to pull away slipping from the creature's grasp as it clawed a deep gash into the teen's arm. (This is the same as...) a sudden deep unsettling chuckling made Forrest look back up, expecting to see the creature his gaze was met with that of a wolfs. "Hahaha, that's right PREY those marks wherefrom me" the wolf replied as he laughed making Forrest back away as tears began to fall from his green eyes.

"N...no y..your not real none of this is real.." The lupine lowered his blood-red eyes as there gaze freezing the teen in fear as the wolf opened his jaw and licked his lips. "Heh...not real am i...hmmm" the lupine replied as he made his way over to the teen. "IS THIS REAL ENOUGH" the wolf shouted as he clutched Forrestes top shoving the teen to the ground as the lupine pinned both of the teen's arms to the ground. " P..please... don't.." Forrest cried as the lupine placed a clawed finger against the teen's lips as he hushed him. "Shhh it'll all be over soon hehe but continue struggling I like my prey feisty"

Forrest continued to struggle against the wolfs tight grip pleading to the lupine to let him go as the wolfs muzzle lowered to the teen's neck as he inhaled deeply. "Hmmm oh I do love the smell of prey, the scent before they are devoured is so intoxicating to me mmmm" The wolf quickly snapped his jaws around Forrestes neck as the teen gasped and went limp. "That's right prey it will all be over soon" The wolf mumbled his words distorted as they clamped tighter.

Forrest began to raise a hand in an attempt to force the lupine off him as the wolfs eyes seemed to flash with a glint of satisfaction, as his jaws finally sunk into the flesh of the teen's neck. Forrest's hand fell as his vision began to fade to black, his final gaze locked onto the wolfs blood coated muzzle as he laughed down at the teen.

(Kryats pov)

The tall feline stood in front of a coffee machine as he placed a styrofoam cup under the dispenser. Letting out a tired sigh he placed a hand over his face dragging it over his muzzle as he awaited the machine to finish his coffee. "Ughhhh come on Damnit" he grumbled crossing his hands over his chest as he looked back towards the human's room. ( Hmm I wonder how the kids doing, can't be easy for him in a situation like this...who could blame him) a sudden bleep from the machine and the sound of pouring coffee made the feline's ears turn as he looked back down at the now full styrofoam cup.

As he began to make his desired coffee the sound of footsteps echoed as the white-furred tiger turned towards the sound of the approaching footsteps as his emerald eyes met the form of a wolf. The K9s eyes were a vivid yellow almost amber in colour his fur a russet brown with a brown tip on the end of his swishing tail. "Oh morning" The K9 greeted Kryat with a tired smile as he waited in line for the coffee machine. "Same to you" Kryat replied curtly to the wolf as the machine finished his brew.

"Its all yours mr.," Kryat spoke awaiting the name of the k9 as the mentioned turned to the Tiger with a tired smile. "Oh sorry, the names Xaphan" The wolf extended his hand in a tired greeting as Kryat excepted the shake. "Well, I hope you enjoy your Coffe Xaphan" The feline spoke as he bid the wolf a good morning. As the feline made his way down the corridor back to the human's room he heard a cry of displeasure from the wolf as the words of " Wheres the cinnamon" echoed down the hall.

As Kryat entered the Humans room he could hear faint grunts coming from the teen's bed as the feline proceeded to make his way over. Forrest twitched and shuddered in his sleep as the teen clutched the covers of his sheets tightly. Noticing this the feline placed his cup of coffee on the table side as he leaned over the human's bedside. Placing a hand on the slumbering teen Kryat began to shake the teen attempting to awaken him from his troubled slumber. The felines ears twitched as they caught the sound of the teen groaning as sweat began to trickle down the human's face.

The feline looked down at the teen's face as he grimaced, the teens' expression was that of fear his lips quivering and hands clutching tightly at the covers of his sheet. "Hey, kid...KID WAKE UP" Kryat called out as Forrest's eyes suddenly flew open as a clenched fist rushed towards the felines face. Reacting quickly Kryat caught the teens fist in his large hand as he locked eyes with the human. The teen's gaze was feral his breathing heavy and pupils dilated a menacing growl escaping his lips as he gazed up at the feline.

"Hey...kid... it's ok" he spoke calmly as the feline began to lower the teen's fist, almost upon hearing this Forrest blinked as his body drooped eyes fluttering closed as he slumped forward slightly. Kryat grabbed hold of the teen's shoulders as he shook the human as Forrest began to stir.

"Wha...what i... I was" The teen's eyes turned to the feline his expression one of confusion and then realisation. "I..im so sorry Kryat i..i...i didn't mean to...i swear" Forrest began to panic as he desperately began to apologise to the feline. Kryat chuckled lightly as he leant back smiling "Haha no worries kid I deal with that kind of stuff more than id like" Lowering his muzzle Kryats expression now changed to that of concern as his emerald green eyes became focused. "Now then..are you going to tell me what that was all about".

(Forrests pov)

The young teen looked away from the concerned feline as his gaze fell to the covers of his bed. "It was nothing" he muttered green eyes looking down as the teen heard a shuffling from the feline. "Hmmm is that so" Kryat mumbled as he glared down at Forrest. "Spill it, kid, I know what just happened to you," he said as Forrest began to sweat again his hands clenching as he began to feel nervous. "I..it was...i..." the teen began to stutter as his hands continued to clench shut tightly.

Suddenly Forrest felt a large hand on his shoulder as he turned to face the concerned gaze of the feline looking down at him. "Its ok kid, you can tell me" Forrest smiled slightly as he nodded his head. "Yeah...ok...i..ill tell you"...

(Jacks pov)

Jack groaned as he stretched out his muscles as he leant over his bed, looking down at the sleeping wolf below. Chuckling to himself slightly at the sight of his best friend Jack sighed happily as he heard the low groan of Durham as said Coyote had ended up on the floor during the night. "Ughh dangit again!" Durham groaned as he rubbed his tail and muttered under his breath. Jack couldn't help but chuckle slightly gaining the attention of the Coyote bellow.

"Hehe morning, Jack how was your sleep" Durham smiled as he chuckled up at the smiling Jack as the coyote continued to rub his sore tail. "Heh better than yours it seems" Jack laughed as he motioned to the sleeping Legoshi below. Durham smirked as he also looked at Legoshi as said wolf mumbled in his sleep as he nuzzled up to his pillow receiving suppressed laughter from Jack and Durham.

As Jack continued to laugh quietly he saw Durham reach over and grab his phone as the coyote quickly snapped a picture of the lupine and turned the screen to Jack. The golden Labrador laughed at what he saw as his tail wagged happily behind him. "Hehe, you gotta sen that to me Durham that's a keeper" the coyote nodded as he saved the picture for later as he leaned back against his bed.

"Ahhh that was priceless haha, cant wait to see his reaction when Mr scary face awakens," Durham said as he stood up stretching his sore muscles as the coyote made his way to the bathroom to freshen himself up. Jack let out another yawn as he got down from his bed his feet landing softly on the floor below, being careful not to awaken the rest of his roommates the labrador looked back at his best friends slumbering form. ( hehe you look so harmless Legoshi...if only others knew you as I do then maybe...) Jack shook his head and sighed as he looked to see Durham exit the bathroom smelling of deodorant.

"Bathrooms free Jack if you wana freshen up," he said to the Labrador as Jack smiled and nodded. As Jack entered the bathroom he gazed at himself in the mirror as he leant over the sink. "Heh my furs getting a bit long again" he muttered to himself as he ran a hand through the fur on his head one of his fingers brushing against his left ear. The Labradors mind wondered to the Human in the infirmary...to Forrest as he stroked his ears. (Hehe yeah Forrest it felt...nice being stroked by...).

Jack shook his head as he blushed slightly shaking the thought from his head as he quickly grabbed a can of deodorant from one of the bathrooms shelves. As the K9 finished up with the spray he placed the can down and opened his muzzle as he began to inspect his teeth. suddenly Jacks vision was blocked by a pair of white-furred hands as the k9 heard a soft chuckling from behind. "Hehe guess who Jack," the cheery voice of Collot said behind him the Labrador chuckling as the shaggy old English sheepdog lowered his hands as Jack turned to face him.

"Hehe, I wonder who" Jack laughed as he smiled up at his friend as Collot grinned. "You finished with the deodorant i see" he questioned as Jack nodded grabbing the can and handing it to the Sheepdog. "Thanks, Jack and hey your fur seems a little longer it may be time for the old snip snip" Collot chuckled as Durham stuck his head around the corner and smirked " Haha says the one coll, I mean come on the mop look again " he joked as Collot grabbed a length of fur in his hand and nodded.

"To be honest I think we all need a hair cut" Jack spoke up as the Labrador grabbed his toothbrush and began to clean his teeth. "Jacks got a point I think we could all do with a little less fur" Durham replied as he went about getting changed into his uniform. As Jack finished off brushing his teeth he strolled back over to the slumbering form of his best friend as Legoshi still clutched his pillow tightly.

"Hey, Legoshi...Legoshi come on its time to wake up" Jack said softly as he gently shook the wolf. The lupine murmured as he rolled over onto his side muttering about something. Sighing Jack reached over and grabbed the wolfs tail as Legoshi suddenly shot up with a yelp, turning his head the wolf met the gaze of his friend staring at him with a smirk. "Uhhhh Jack why did you grab my tail," The wolf asked tiredly as Jack chuckled smiling at the wolf. "Its morning sleepyhead and you know what that means" Jack questioned to which Legoshi cocked his head in confusion.

(Legoshis pov)

(Wha whats Jack talking about) Legoshi thought as he rubbed his head trying to think. (Oh yeah the presentations today...) "Ahhhhhhh oh no it's today I forgot" The lupine quickly jumped out of bed falling over onto the floor in the process. "Woah calm down Legoshi isn't the presentation in the afternoon," Jack asked as the wolf rushed to the bathroom. "Yeah but there's a meeting at the Drama club before that" he called out from the bathroom as he grabbed the deodorant. (Ughh Louise will be mad at me if I'm late ) the wolfs ears perked up as Miguno entered stumbling into the wall. "Ughhh damn eyes, I need Glasses" Legoshi watched as the bleary-eyed Hyena reached into one of the cabinets and pulled out a container.

"Huh oh, morning Legoshi" Miguno finally realised that he was not alone and greeted the wolf. "Morning Miguno" Legoshi muttered as he brushed his sharp incisors. As Legoshi finished with his brushing he rinsed his mouth out as he raised his head coming face to face with his reflection on the mirror. ( My face...why does it bring fear to those I meet...why was I born a wolf) Legoshi sighed as he turned away from the mirror and made his way out of the bathroom as he began his preparation for the meeting and the presentation...
