When Elena wakes up, Klaus has already left, and Elijah is out of the room, she gets up from the bed and sees her reflection in the mirror, she was in a patient's apron, "That bastard touched me again" she thinks, of course she remembers him pulling out the shards from her abdomen, she remembers Stefan wrecking the car and leaving her alone on the Wickery Bridge to die, she remembers her chat to Sofia, she remembers everything.

Her first strategy worked totally against her, she has to formulate a new one to take total control of the situation, but first, she will have to change. She looks around but her clothes are nowhere, and she cannot go out in the apron she is wearing so she chooses to take Klaus' clothes, after all, he took her clothes first, it's fitting that she takes his clothes in return.

Klaus' light green shirt falls below her hips and his jeans is too loose for her, she uses belt to hold it in place, although, wearing clothes without undergarments felt weird to her, she hasn't done it before. The jeans are not only loose on her waist, it's long too, she folds it upwards so that her feet are visible, thankfully her shoes are still here. She slips on her shoes and heads towards the exit.

"Elena" Elijah calls from behind, "I am glad you're up."

As much as Elena wanted to talk to Elijah, she was feeling awkward in clothes which were too loose on her, and not just loose, the clothes that belonged to her killer, to his brother. Then she thinks maybe Elijah could give her a lift to her home and she stops.

He does give her a lift home, she tells him everything that happened after he was daggered up to the date of Klaus killing Mikael but she does not tell him what happens next, there is a silence when he asks, an awkward one, as though she wants to tell him something but she isn't doing the same.

"Elena, is my brother compelling you."

And Klaus' compulsion works, and she says, "No, Klaus is not compelling me, he loves me and we're in a relationship. No one compels their lover in a relationship."

The thing is Elijah noticed that her words didn't meet her facial expression and he understands, "Seriously Elena is he compelling you to be in a relationship with him."

According to the compulsion she was to pretend to be in a relationship with him in front of others and not actually be in a relationship with him and following the orders of the same compulsion, she says, "He would never do that to me."

And Elijah knows his brother well, he doesn't ask her again about the events that occurred after that day.

When she reaches home, she is alone and she thanks God for that because she definitely didn't want to explain it to others that why she was in Klaus' attire. After she has changed, she calls the one person that could help her change the game. She takes phone and dials the number of Katherine Pierce.

That night Alaric doesn't return home because he was on his way to drop Jeremy to the airport and after returning he just went back to his apartment, which gave Elena the time to do what she had planned.

Katherine enters inside of her house with a book in her hands, "So, I am supposed to give it to you why? You better have a good reason or I will enjoy killing you with my bare hands very much."

"I have that one thing to offer you in exchange of this book, what you think was forever lost to you."

"My chance at freedom" she comments.

"No, your chance to be with your daughter."

Katherine quirks an eyebrow, "My daughter was ripped away from me I told you that"

"You can hear my heartbeat right, tell me if I am lying when I tell you this that your daughter is alive, her name is Nadia Petrova, she has been looking for you for centuries. She yearns for you."

Katherine slams Elena to a wall, "Klaus killed my entire family, if you know this then Klaus will definitely go after my daughter, tell me have you told him anything yet?"

"No, I haven't, this is the reason I asked you bring your father's grimoire, your father was a traveler, if I tap into magic Klaus won't be able to compel me to give anything away and more importantly I want to be free of this human blood bag crap I think this book will give…."

"You won't be able to practice magic because this book is in Czeck and you don't know Czeck. Then teach me Czech, I will even do a protection spell on your daughter so that Klaus isn't able to hurt her, or you" she adds.

"Last night you told me that you told Klaus that it was me who gave Stefan the idea of stealing his family, why such sympathy for me now."

"Not sympathy", she says, "And also not cruelty" she adds.

Katherine removes her hand from Elena's chest to hear what she has to say.

"You were already on the run from Klaus, he hasn't caught up with you in five hundred years and more importantly what more could he take from you than he already has. Do you really think he would ever have granted you your freedom when he didn't even though you sent Isobel to trade me to him in exchange of your freedom? Putting the blame on you didn't do anything bad to you or good, it just helped me save Stefan's life from Klaus given the severity of the thing he did."

"You really don't know anything about Klaus, do you? Klaus will never kill Stefan, he and Stefan are best friends. Katherine walks around in the room speculating her thoughts, she knows the Bennett witch doesn't like her, no one in the town does, not even Elena but of all those people, she knows Elena is the one with the gift of compassion and now that she has found her lost family, she sure as hell is not giving up on that.

"Fine, I will teach you how to read Czech but in exchange you will be my witch, you will protect my daughter from Klaus' using your magic."

"Deal" Elena says and Katherine smirks, "Deal" Katherine says, shaking hands with her.
