Chapter Two: New Power and New School
The next morning being the start of the weekend, gave all of the Ranger's, plus their soon to be new member, a chance to arrive early to the Command Center. Once they all arrived together, they all turned to Zordon as he said, "Good morning Rangers, I'm glad that you all made it here safely." After returning Zordon's greeting, the Rangers all turned to face Alpha and a mysterious looking blue Ninja figure.
Tommy grinned and said, "Its great to see you again Ninjor," The ninja, now known as Ninjor, nodded his head, his face concealed by his helmet, and replied, "Yes Tommy, it certainly is wonderful to see all of you again. I'm glad to see that the Ninjetti powers have been serving all of you well." Then the ninja turned his attention to Amelia, "And I see that we have a new member in our midst?"
Amelia nodded with her hands clasped calmly behind her back and stated, "That's right. My name is Amelia Park, I have heard many great things about you Master Ninjor." Waving his hand in a carefree manner, Ninjor said happily, "Oh please just call me Ninjor! We don't need to be so formal among friends." Amelia grinned at that, happy to be considered a friend.
Soon Zordon captured everyone's attention again, "Adam and Amelia, are you ready to commence?" Both siblings glanced at each other, before looking back to Zordon and nodding that they were ready. Nodding his own giant head, Zordon replied, "Then Adam and Tommy please Morph and we will start with the power transfer of the Black Power Coin."
Tommy and Adam stepped forward, then looking at each other they smiled as Tommy then shouted out the time honored phrase, "IT'S MORPHIN TIME!" Once the two were morphed, Amelia was grinning from ear to ear as she whispered to Kimberly and Aisha, "I never tire of witnessing that!" Aisha giggled and whispered back, "I know right? And even though I do it as well, it's still amazing!" Kimberly then added to their whispered conversation, "Just wait till you start doing it, and it will be even cooler!"
The three girls then turned their attention back to what was happening, as Tommy once again lifted the Power Sword and transferred Adam's Black Mastodon Power back into the Power Coin. When the light from the transfer died down, Adam was standing once again in his civilian clothes, a frown on his face as he looked at his hands and stated out loud, "I suddenly feel strangely vulnerable."
Ninjor then stepped forward and said, "That is only because your Ninjetti Power is currently still dormant, you won't be feeling vulnerable for long. Amelia, if you could join your brother please?"
Amelia once again nodded, and walked over to stand next to her brother. The other Power Ranger's then created a semi-circle around the two as Ninjor instructed the siblings, "Stand on either side of me and join hands. Your journey Adam shall continue, while Amelia, your journey will now begin." The two siblings stood on either side of Ninjor and linked hands so that Ninjor was standing between them. Once this was done, Ninjor continued speaking, "Close your eyes and concentrate. I will guide you to the Power that you seek. Older than time itself, Man has always known the calling. Light of the Light, strength of the soul, ignite this eternal power inside of me, join with me now as I become one with the Power, I am Ninja!"
As Ninjor spoke, the other Ranger's watched in awe as strands of Black Power and strands of Purple Power seemed to skate and dance over the two siblings bodies. With their eyes closed the two concentrated on what Ninjor said, and soon, Adam was covered in a black ninja outfit with a black headband to match, and Amelia was covered in a purple outfit with a purple headband around her head. Ninjor then said, "Your journey is complete Park siblings, open your eyes and claim your destiny!"
The two siblings opened their eyes and grinned as they looked over their new outfits. Curling his hands into fists of victory, Adam happily stated, "Yes! I forgot how good this feels!" Amelia admired her entire outfit and excitedly exclaimed, "I can't believe this is really happening!"
Patting both siblings on the shoulder, Ninjor continued saying, "Now Adam, you will once again command the wise Frog Zord. Continue to learn from its silent courage." Adam nodded and then stated proudly, "I am the Frog, courageous in spirit!" He then performed a martial art move known as, the frog form.
Amelia, you are the first Purple Ranger to join the ranks of fellow Rangers. You will be the first to command the mighty Leopard Zord! Learn from its graceful stealth." Amelia nodded as well then stated while doing the Leopard Martial Arts form, "I am the Leopard, graceful and cunning!"
The other Ranger's then surrounded their two friends to congratulate them with hugs and high-fives. Zordon then got everyone's attention again by calling out, "Adam and Amelia," The two broke away from their friends and went to stand before Zordon, still garbed in their Ninjetti Ranger forms.
"Now that you both have the Ninjetti Power, you will be leaving soon to move to Japan correct?" The two siblings nodded, but stayed silent to let Zordon continue, "Adam, even though you are not here fighting with us, the same rules I first told you will still apply, follow them or risk losing the protection of the Power, understand?" Adam nodded in complete seriousness. Zordon then said, "Amelia, now that you are a Power Ranger, there are three rules you must follow at all cost or risk the consequence of losing the protection of the Power altogether. First, never use your Power for personal gain. Second, never escalate a battle unless Rita or Zedd force you to. And finally, keep your identity a secret. No one may know you are a Power Ranger." Amelia nodded and replied, "I will do my best Zordon."
Zordon nodded his head satisfied, then said, "Good. Your mission now, Adam and Amelia Park, is to discover what caused Earths moon to explode. Once you find out what happened, report back here to the Command Center at once. Be warned Rangers that Rita and Zedd may also want to find out what happened as well. If they do, remember your first job as Rangers is to protect Earth's inhabitants from them. Call us here at the Command Center if you need the assistance of the other Rangers and we will do our best with providing assistance." Adam and Amelia nodded in understanding. Zordon then smiled and said, "Then Adam and Amelia I wish you the best of luck on your Mission, and may the Power protect you both."
With that, the two siblings and Tommy Powered down, and after saying goodbye to Alpha and Ninjor, all the Rangers teleported out of the Command Center and headed to the Youth Center to have one last day of fun together before the siblings would have to go finish packing.
The next week, the Park siblings were busy finishing packing their house with their family, practicing their Martial Arts, and filling out their school transfer papers. Amelia was a little miffed to discover that even though she is fourteen, almost fifteen, and a freshman in high school in America. In Japan, she would still be only considered a third year junior high school student! Adam simply patted his sister's shoulder in comfort as she raged. Because he was two years older than her, being sixteen going on seventeen, he would be in the freshman high school class, instead of the sophomore class like at Angel Grove High.
On the Park Family's last day in Angel Grove, before the big move, Adam and Amelia were surprised when their friends appeared at their house and dragged them to the Youth Center where a huge surprise send away party had been set up by everyone that they knew at the Youth Center! Even Bulk and Skull, the notorious delinquents, helped in the set up.
After the party, the group of Rangers walked together back to the Park's home. When they reached the front yard, the group shared a group hug and Amelia stated fiercely, "Promise us that if Rita and Zedd give you to much trouble, that you will contact us ok? We may be on the other side of the world, but we will teleport here in a heartbeat to help you guys." Rocky nodded and replied, "Just as long as you guys do the same, all right? Zordon is right, Rita and Zedd may look into the Moon incident as well." The two siblings nodded. Then, looking around to make sure no one was listening in on them, Tommy put his hand out, palm face down. Grinning, everyone put their hand on top of his and together they jumped into the air, lifting their hands and shouting, "GO POWER RANGERS!"
The next day, the Park family got on a plane heading for Tokyo, Japan. The family of four would be staying at Adam and Amelia's Maternal Grandfather's home in Kunugigaoka Town. And, because they were staying there, there were only two local schools that they could attend, Kunugigaoka Junior High School and Kunugigaoka High school.
On one hand, Amelia was looking forward to school, because she would at least get to attend school with their cousin, Tomohito Sugino. Tomohito was their mother's sister's son. When growing up, Amelia's mother would always take them during summer break to visit the family and Amelia and Tomo were almost inseparable during those times. Now, to be able to see and spend time with him for a whole year sounded fantastic to Amelia.
The part that she was not happy about, concerning school, was that even though the school was very prestigious and liked to show off to foreigners, just because she did not do so well on the schools written portion of the entrance exam of English to Japanese, she was being put in the Third Years lowest class, the E Class.
After a week of getting settled in their new home, and finalizing paperwork for the schools, it was time for their first day of school. As Amelia and Adam walked to school, Amelia could not help but scowl at her older brother, who shot her a smirk in return as he asked in English, "What's got you in such a foul mood this morning?" Amelia's scowl turned into a glare as she snapped at her older brother, "I hate uniforms!" Amelia was wearing the girls version of the Kunugigaoka Junior High uniform which consisted of a light gray skirt, a white blouse, black tie, and a light gray blazer over top of the blouse. Now, Amelia, was not a big fan of skirts. Being a black belt Martial Artist, she felt that skirts hindered her ability to fight properly because she did not want to go around flashing people. So, slightly going against the dress code, she put on a pair of black leggings on underneath the skirt, so that she felt more comfortable. But now, the problem was she felt that she was wearing to much clothing! Being from a country that does not get as humid as Japan, the humidity, even though it was faint this time of year, was extremely uncomfortable for Amelia.
Adam on the other hand, had it easy. For the High School uniform, he just had to wear a pair of navy blue school pants, with a short sleeved white polo shirt, a navy colored tie, and a navy blazer, which he had casually draped over his one shoulder, because it was so warm, and his book bag strap hung on the other shoulder.
Adam simply laughed and replied, "Is that all that's bothering you?" Amelia turned her head away from her brother, a slight pout on her face as she shook her head no. Frowning, Adam nudged his sister with his elbow. "Lia? What's wrong?"
Sighing, Amelia kept face angled away from her older brother as she said sadly, "Tomo was telling me about the school. Sadly, the class that I am going to be a part of is considered the 'outcasts' of the school, and get picked on because their classroom is isolated from the rest of the campus." Now it was Adam's turn to frown as he simply stated bluntly, "That's stupid." Amelia nodded in agreement.
Before the two siblings could say anything more, they suddenly heard their names being shouted frantically behind them. Pausing, the two turned to see their cousin, Tomohito Sugino, running to catch up with them. Once he reached them, he put his hands on his knees and panted heavily, trying to get his breath back from the frantic sprinting he had just been doing.
Smirking, Adam looked down at his younger cousin and said in flawless Japanese, "Gee Tomo, I didn't think you were so eager to join us." Looking up at his male cousin, Sugino glared and said, "Well if you too weren't such early birds, we could have all walked together! As it is, I ended up walking to Gramp's house, only to find out that you both had left already, so then I had to sprint this way to try and catch up with you guys!"
Smiling in sympathy, Amelia replied, "We're sorry Tomo. But thats the side effect of being trained to be a Martial Arts Master by Gramps." Now standing up normally again, Sugino shrugged his shoulders and said, "What ever, anyway Lia, are you ready for your first day at Kunugigaoka?"
The three family members continued walking together as their conversation continued. Returning her cousin's shrug, Amelia replied, "As ready as I'll ever be. I mean, I've already missed two weeks, I hope I can catch up easy enough." At that, Sugino laughed uneasily and rubbed the back of his neck, "Yeah, about that. See, our teacher has been missing for a week now, so we have not really done much in her absence." Both Adam and Amelia's eyebrows rose in surprise at hearing this, It had been about a week, almost two weeks, since the Moon incident.
Soon they arrived at the main gates of Kunugigaoka Junior High school. They paused at the entrance and Adam waved to the two, saying, "Well, I'm one more block away. Meet you both here after school then?" Sugino and Amelia nodded in agreement.
Before Adam left, he turned to Amelia and whispered for only her to hear, "Don't forget Zordon's Mission for us, ok?" Amelia nodded in reply, and to keep up pretenses of looking like Adam was just giving her encouragement, Amelia gave her big brother a quick hug, then turned and followed Sugino into the start of a new chapter of her life.
