Chapter Five: Pai Zhua Time!

Italic: Amelia's Thoughts and mental conversations with her Spirit
The next morning Amelia woke up to the sound of her phone buzzing. Groaning at being woken up, she reached out for it to see who was texting her this early in the morning. She blinked in surprise to see it was her cousin, Sugino, texting her to let her know that he was not going to be able to walk with her to school today.
When she texted back asking why, all she got as a reply was that he and Nagisa were going to "try something" before school started. Now, in any other context, that response would have Amelia very worried. But because of the new dynamic of their classroom, she had a pretty good idea of what her cousin meant. So she simply texted back;
Amelia: Ok, Be careful with whatever you're planning Sugino. And don't be to disappointed if things don't work out. There's always next time.
Sugino sent back a thumbs up emoji, and with that, Amelia got up to get ready for today's school day. Looking down at her arms and legs, she was pleased to see that a good nights sleep helped with the healing of the bruises. She finished getting dressed, this time with a pair of dark gray leggings and a new uniform jacket on, she then headed downstairs to have some breakfast before heading out to school.
As she walked towards the kitchen, she passed by one of the dojo rooms in the big house, and happened to catch movement out of the corner of her eye. Curious, she paused and peeked in to see her wise Grandfather, Master Lee Sugino, practicing. To Amelia's delight, he was practicing his Pai Zhua moves! She watched in awe as he moved gracefully and deadly against some imaginary opponent. And right before her eyes, she watched her Grandfather release his Pai Zhua spirit, the Spirit of the Jaguar, to finish his move set.
Just as she was about to walk away, she suddenly heard him sternly call out, "Don't think I didn't see you watching Amelia." Flinching at being caught, Amelia sheepishly entered the room, and bowed in apology, "I am so sorry for spying on you Grandfather!" Master Lee simply chuckled and waving his hand, he replied, "Get up you silly girl, I am not mad at you." Then coming over to the entrance to stand before her, he seemed to assess her. Standing nervously under her Grandfather's scrutinizing gaze, Amelia nervously asked, "Is something wrong Grandfather?"
Rubbing his bearded chin in thought, he replied, "It's strange, but it almost feels as if your strength has increased since I last saw you my dear. Has something happened with you and Sasha?" Both Amelia and her Spirit Animal sweat dropped as they both nervously tried to think of an answer. Cause they couldn't very well admit that the Power of the Morphing Grid is what enhanced their powers! "Well, uh, you see…" Before Amelia could say anything, Zaheer, Master Lee's Spirit Animal, materialized beside his Master and scolded, "Honestly Lee, how many times must I remind you. Don't pry into other peoples training regimes unless they are willing to share."
Giving a sheepish smile and chuckle, Master Lee replied, "Right as always my old friend." Then turning back to look at his Granddaughter, Master Lee said, "I'm sorry if I was prying into something private my dear." Giving Zaheer and her Grandfather a warm smile, Amelia replied, "Your fine Grandfather. Thank you for noticing that I have gotten stronger, that means a lot." Giving her Grandfather a quick hug, she then turned to go and stated, "I got to go now so that I can get some breakfast in me before school. Bye Grandfather and Bye Zaheer!" And with that, she headed out of the dojo to continue her way to breakfast.
When she reached the kitchen, she found both her mother and brother up and in the kitchen. When her brother saw her, he smiled and teased, "Well, well, someone is sure up early." Amelia rolled her eyes at his teasing. Thankfully she didn't have to say anything, because their mother elbowed her son in the ribs and scolded, "Be nice to your sister Adam. She has every right to sleep in. She needs as much rest as she can get with that horrendous school she attends."
Amelia smiled as her mother said those words. She knew that her parents highly disagreed with how the Principal ran the local Middle School, and had their been another option close to home, they would have enrolled her there instead. But the next closest school for her is an hour train ride away and her parents were not comfortable with the idea of her taking the train alone, so they told her to just do her best at Kunugigaoka, and they did not mind that she was in the "lowest class."
After having a nice breakfast with her family, Amelia wished them all a good day and began heading for the door to head to go to school. As she was putting her tennis shoes on, her mother asked from behind her, "Where is Tomohito? Usually he is here already to walk to school with you." Shrugging her shoulders, Amelia replied, "That's why I was up so early today. He texted me letting me know he was not going to be able to walk with me today because he had to finish a project with a friend before school starts."
Thankfully her mother accepted the little white lie, though Amelia could see Adam's eyes narrow in suspicion. Giving a faint shake of her head to let him know not to worry about it, Amelia headed out the door and towards the school.
When she arrived at the school gates, Amelia warily looked around, making sure that the Asano jerk was not around. Not spotting him right away, Amelia let out a small sigh of relief, and cautiously began to make her way towards the entrance to the mountain pass that took her to her class. Luck was not on her side though, as she suddenly heard her name be called out and she unfortunately had another encounter with the annoyance known as Gakushuu Asano, but Amelia was able to break off the one-sided conversation by making the excuse that they should both be getting to class.
As she made her escape, her Pai Zhua Leopard Spirit, known to her as Sasha, growled in her mind, 'Me glad you leave. His wolf side make me angry.' Surprised, Amelia paused and mentally asked, 'Wolf side? What do you mean Sasha?' Sasha huffed with annoyance at her Master's obliviousness, 'He Pai Zhua. He has Wolf Spirit. Wolf annoyed Sasha. Thinks she is its mate and that he is our Alpha. Sasha not his mate though and Sasha NOT bowing in submission to him!' Her Spirit hissed in anger near the end of her rant. Beginning to move again, Amelia's mind whirled with this new information. 'So there are other people similar to me nearby? Interesting…'
Amelia sprinted up the hill, being thankful that keeping up with her Martial Arts training kept her in shape so that when she reached the top of the hill, she was only breathing slightly harder than before she began her run. She even passed a couple of her classmates up the hill who were taking a break from the hard climb.
Walking into the classroom, she saw Meg smile and wave to her, and returning the smile and wave, she walked over to chat with her and a couple other female classmates until the bell rang for homeroom. As their teacher walked in, he was followed by both Nagisa and a very despondent looking Sugino. Seeing the disappointed look on her cousin's face, made Amelia frown. But she didn't have time to go over and talk to him because Korosensei began Homeroom. Then once he was done with roll call, he went straight into their first lesson of the day, which was Modern Literature.
As the lesson went on, Amelia felt herself be slightly distracted. Mostly because she was worried about her cousin's despondent state, but also about what Sasha revealed to her. Suddenly her eyes widened and she immediately mentally asked her partner, 'SASHA! Earlier did you say mate? What did you mean by mate?!' her thoughts and Sasha's purr of amusement were quickly derailed, however when Korosensei suddenly came zipping by her desk to grab something off of her classmates desk next to her in the back of the classroom!
"Sugaya!" Korosensei stated in a scolding voice, then went on to say, "Not a bad likeness I'll give you that, but I'm a little hurt by the jawline." In their teachers hands was Sugaya's notebook and turning it around there was a doodled picture of Korosensei that their teacher redrew a different picture with a defined jawline over the top of the original drawing. Making Maehara at the front of the class shout, "YOU DON'T HAVE A JAW!"
They continued the morning going from Literature to English to Math. Then the bell for lunch period began to ring. Setting his chalk down, Korosensei announced, "That's lunch people. Now if you'll excuse me I have some important off campus business to attend to." Isogai, the class's Male Representative asked, "Tofu from China?" Opening the window, Korosensei turned and replied, "Actually I'm catching a Ball Game in the Big Apple" And with that, ZOOM! He was off!
After their teacher left, everyone began muttering about him. Amelia rolled her eyes as she gathered her stuff and heard another one of her new female friends, Kurahashi complained, "Talk about unfair! He flies all over the world, he could at least bring souvenirs!" As Amelia walked over to her, Meg also walked over and stated, "Think about what he would bring back though." Smiling Kurahashi explained, "I'm just saying an exotic snack would be nice! It's not like he has to sneak them through customs." Sweat dropping, Meg and Amelia looked to each other and then back to Kurahashi as Meg stated, "You've obviously put a lot of thought into this."
The class began joking about the different types of export things that Korosensei could bring back, making Amelia smile at the small fun the class was enjoying. Her smile faded though, as the Government Agent, Mr. Karasuma, entered the classroom. The class became quiet once they all noticed him, once he had everyone's attention, he asked, "Children, any progress on killing the tentacled menace?" Nagisa, who was standing beside Mr. Karasuma, looked up at him and asked in return, "Define progress."
Everyone sort of went quiet at that, until Isogai spoke up and replied,"With all due respect sir, he's to quick. Only Amelia was able to land a hit on him so far, and that was because he was distracted by the rest of us." Okajima then added on, "You said it yourself sir, he clocks out at Mach 20, how do we kill something like that."
At the mention of Amelia being the first one to land a hit, Mr. Karasuma glanced towards the girl, thinking to himself, 'I'm not surprised actually that she is the first one to make a hit…' Then turning to the rest of the class he responded by stating, "I don't know, but you kids have better figure it out." "Seriously?" Okajima asked with a sweatdrop, nodding Karasuma answered, "Seriously. You kids are the only hope we've got. He teaches willing, putting himself in the line of fire by choice."
"If we allow that creature to live, come March, Earth will be totally annihilated. And, in case you need a reminder of how powerful he is, take a look at what's left of our moon. That will be our planet in a year. In short, he's to dangerous to take lightly. That's why this classroom is the last stand between mankind and extinction." The class stayed silent at his statement. All of them feeling slightly overwhelmed at being asked to basically save the whole class.
Amelia's eyes narrowed in thought and she wondered, 'I wonder if the World's Leader's even considered asking the Power Ranger's or not? I mean, I know what Zordon said, but if this class is unable to defeat him, then perhaps we can be the last line of defense?' She's shaken from her thoughts as Mr. Karasuma once again wished them luck and began to head out. Deciding to ask him about it, Amelia followed him out of the classroom and called out, "Mr. Karasuma sir?"
Turning around, Karasuma's eyebrow raised slightly in curiosity as he asked her,"Yes? What is it?" Fidgeting slightly nervously, Amelia asked him, "Sir I was just wondering if the Government ever thought of asking the Power Rangers for help in this situation?"
Karasuma's expression didn't change much, but from the way both of his eyebrows are raised now, she knew she surprised him with this question. Crossing his arms, he asked, "What brought this question about?" Taking a deep breath to calm her nerves, Amelia explained, "Well sir, until recently I used to live in Angel Grove, California. In that city there are Monster attacks from Monsters out of this world almost every other day. The Power Rangers are a group of heroes who have been diligently fighting off the Monsters for almost two years now. I was thinking, as you said, we only have until next March, if our class is unable to produce any results, have the Governments considered reaching out to these heroes and asking for their assistance?"
Amelia watched as Mr. Karasuma stood before her silent, thinking over his answer. Finally, he turned and said, "Follow me." Confused, Amelia did as asked and followed the Agent to the Teachers lounge. Once inside, he said, "Take a seat, we have a lot to discuss." Now getting a little wary, Amelia cautiously sat down and felt that maybe she should not have asked about the Power Rangers...
Once the both of them were seated, Mr. Karasuma steepled his fingers in front of him and said, "To answer your question, yes, the World Leaders have tried to reach out to the group known as the Power Rangers. The supposed Leader, the Red Ranger, met a group of us a couple days ago, actually about the day after we announced the Assassination Classroom to you students. He spoke on behalf of the Ranger's mentor, someone named Zordon or something. Anyway, to cut to the chase. The Power Rangers stated that they were already aware of the situation from an inside source. Someone that they sent to find out what happened to the Moon. They stated that they have informed this individual that they are to continue monitoring the situation and to only interfere if the creature breaks his agreement with the Government, or if one of the Monsters that they fight attempts to interfere."
Narrowing his focus on Amelia, Karasuma continued saying,"That said, the Red Ranger refused to inform us on who their informant is. All they said was that we will either, 'figure it out for ourselves' or 'they will reveal themselves if the time is necessary for it.' So, given all that I have observed of you myself so far, and that you are currently the only one to have managed to damage the Octopus, I am assuming that you are the informant they mentioned. Am I correct Ms. Amelia Park?"
Amelia's eyes widened and she looked at Mr. Karasuma like a deer caught in headlights. Finally though, she closed her eyes and, taking a deep breath, she asked, "Was asking the question about the Rangers what gave it away to you?" Mr. Karasuma blinked in surprise and sitting back, he replied,"I didn't think you would admit it so fast and openly. I thought you were going to try and come up with something to throw me off and make me think I wasn't right."
Chuckling at his reply, Amelia shook her head and said,"I am a Master Martial Artist Mr. Karasuma. One of my principles is avoid lying unless absolutely necessary. You figured me out fair and square, so it's only right that I be honest with you. But!" And here it was Amelia's turn to narrow her eyes at her superior, "That doesn't mean that I am going to share any information about the Power Rangers with you. We are a very secretive group and have three basic rules to live by or risk losing the Power forever." Nodding, Karasuma asked, "I understand, what are these rules you have to live by?"
Sitting up straight, Amelia recited,"First, never use your Power for personal gain. Second, never escalate a battle unless we are forced by our enemies. And finally, we must keep our identities secret, no one may know we are a Power Ranger." Karasuma listened to her recite the rules of a Power Ranger, completely fascinated. Then concerned, he asked, "So it sounds like you are a Power Ranger yourself. Will my knowing make you lose your Power?" Thinking on it, Amelia shook her head and replied, "No, I don't think so. I recently spoke with Zordon and mentioned you, and he said that you might figure it out on your own. So I should be fine."
The two of them talked for a little while longer before Karasuma stood and said, "I need to be getting back to the Ministry of Defense." Standing as well, Amelia asked nervously, "You're not going to tell them all that you found out are you?" Giving her a reassuring smile, Karasuma replied, "I won't let them know your secret. I am just going to inform my superiors that I have come into contact with the Power Ranger's Informant that they mentioned."
Satisfied with his answer, Amelia and Karasuma exited the Teachers Lounge to find Korosensei approaching it. They both watched with interest as Nagisa ran to catch up to the Octopus, calling out, "Excuse me sir!" Korosensei paused and turned to Nagisa as Nagisa ran up to him to ask, "Did you really fly all the way to New York just to give Sugino a piece of advice?" Tilting his head, Korosensei replied, "Why not? I'm his teacher." Giving Korosensei a confused look, Nagisa explained, "Well it's just that most teachers I know wouldn't go that far for a student. And I mean here you are planning to blow up the planet by the time we graduate and all that."
Karasuma and Amelia continued to watch as Korosensei stood in silence for a moment, then lifting a tentacle up, he explained,"Nagisa, the details are not important. Let's just say I'm here to make good on a promise. One I don't take lightly." Karasuma's eyes narrowed at that news, but he remained silent as they watched him grab Nagisa's notebook and continue saying, "The Earth will be destroyed, yes, but my first priority is to you and your classmates. Nothing beats giving you kids the credit your due. Not even me blowing up the Earth."
Amelia smiled at that, and she could see Mr. Karasuma's lips twitch a little bit as well at the meaningful words of the Octopus. Deciding to make himself known, Mr. Karasuma announced, "Well then I hope the students will learn from your example and take assassinating you just as seriously." Startled, Korosensei whirled around, expertly dodging the knife thrown towards him by the Agent.
Amelia couldn't help but laugh as Korosensei and Karasuma got into a squabbling match. Walking over to Nagisa, who still seemed to be in awe of Korosensei's words, she asked, "Hey Nagisa? What did you mean that Korosensei was giving advice to Sugino?" Broken out of his stupor, Nagisa shook his head to clear it and replied, "He was trying to explain that Sugino did not have to imitate a famous Pitcher's baseball throw when he could create his own style."
Smiling at that, Amelia replied, "That's good to hear. I'm glad that Korosensei was able to help him with that." Then turning to head to the classroom, she said over her shoulder, "Come on, class is going to be starting again soon."
The rest of the school day passed without any other crazy things happening. Once the day ended though, Amelia watched as a happier looking Sugino asked Nagisa to help him with playing catch so he could practice a new throwing style he thought of. She wanted to join them, but Meg caught her before she could and asked her to help them in another Assassination idea a group of them were planning.
It was planned out that the next day during break, they would ambush Korosensei with their knifes. Amelia didn't think it was going to work, but kept her thoughts to herself as the planning was put into place. Sure enough, the next day, the group of about ten students watched as Korosensei was making himself a homemade snow cone.
"Do you think that ice really comes from the North Pole?" Maehara whispered to the group."Why not? He hits up every other place on the map." Okajima replied. Isogai shushed the two of them and stated, "Focus, think of the money we're going to split." Everyone else in the group nodded their heads with determination, while Amelia just sighed quietly to herself at the back of the hidden group.
As the group called out to their teacher and began running towards him, Amelia hung back and watched bemused at their forced cheerfulness. Knowing that their teacher was not going to fall for it. Sure enough, BAM! They began coughing with the giant dust cloud.
"Not the worst tactic you've tried, but your smiles were a bit to forced. I wasn't born yesterday boys and girls." Suddenly Amelia realized her hands were not empty anymore, and looked down in surprise to see herself holding a tulip! "Now put away those anti-me knives and take a moment to smell, if not the roses, then these lovely specimen."
Deciding she had enough humor for today, Amelia began walking back to the school to see where her cousin and his friend had gotten to. Seeing Kayano walking by herself, Amelia called out to her, making her pause in her walking to turn and see Amelia joining her. Smiling Kayano said, "Hi Amelia! What's up?" Returning the smile, Amelia replied,"Have you seen Sugino? I wanted to ask my cousin if he would practice sparring with me for a little bit before break is over." Tapping her chin in thought, Kayano replied, "He's probably hanging out with Nagisa. Let's look together! I was trying to find Nagisa anyway."
Together they walked towards the school, and found Nagisa standing in the shadows of the school observing with a little notebook in his hands their Octopus teacher be instructed by Meg and Okano to replant the flower bed that he destroyed. "Oh hey Nagisa! Watch'a writing?" Kayano asked the blue haired boy cheerfully. Continuing to write, Nagisa replied, "It's a running list of all the chinks in Korosensei's armor. A good assassin keeps tabs on his target's weak spots."
Interested, both girls looked over his shoulder to read, "Korosensei's Weak Point #1: When he shows off, things get shaky" both girls looked at each other confused at that and Amelia asked what they were both thinking, "Um, is that kind of thing really a weakness?" Sugino took this moment to announce himself by taking the notebook and cheerfully exclaiming, "Nagisa wouldn't put it in if it wasn't my dear cousin! Thank you! Every detail gives us an edge." He then went on to read the very little data that Nagisa did have on their teacher, and giving the notebook a blank stare, he asked, "What the hell is this?"
Tilting her head, Kayano stated, "Doesn't seem like a lot to go on." Taking his notebook back Nagisa defended, "Maybe not at the moment, but I did just begin. Soon I should have more data." Amelia nodded in agreement. Suddenly Meg ran up to Amelia and Kayano and said with excitement, "Quickly! Go grab some staffs and rope! Korosensei is going to give us an opportunity to limit his mobility as an apology for destroying the flowerbed!" Saluting her, both girls replied, "Right!" And rushed off to grab what was asked of them.
As they hurried back, the two paused in surprise to see Mr. Karasuma at the entrance to their school building. "Hey Mr. Karasuma!" Kayano greeted cheerily. Amelia just nodded her head in greeting. "What are you doing here?" Kayano asked him curiously. Giving a small smile, he replied, "New Job assignment. As of tomorrow I will be joining the staff as your new P.E teacher." "Oh, that sounds cool!" Kayano exclaimed in excitement. "It should be fun, yes." Karasuma answered her enthusiasm with a nod of his head.
Looking around, Karasuma asked, "So where exactly is your target now?" At that moment, Okajima ran up to Amelia and asked, "Did you find the rope?" Nodding, Amelia handed him the rope saying, "Yeah, here," With that Okajima ran off as Kayano explained to their new teacher,"apologizing. He messed up the Tulips we planted, so we reduced his speed and he's letting us all take whacks at him. Isn't he the coolest teacher or what!"
With that the three of them rounded the corner to find Korosensei tied to a tree and swinging around like crazy! "A few more minutes and all is forgiven right? You're a very lucky class I'll have you know! Not many teachers would put themselves in this position." Walking over to Nagisa who stood with his pistol in hand and looking a little dumbfounded, Kayano asked plainly, "So, uh, any luck yet?" Shaking his head, Nagisa replied, "Uh, no. This is pretty much all a game to him."
Eye brow twitching, Karasuma stared at the scene and stated, "This is not what the Ministry of Defense had in mind." Nodding, Amelia replied, "Yep. But you got to admit for leaving this to a bunch of kids, things have gotten pretty creative." Suddenly, the branch that Korosensei was swinging from snapped, and he fell to the ground! Wasting no time, Amelia took out her pistol, aimed and shot three times while everyone else was stunned by what happened.
BAM BAM BAM! The sudden explosion of three of his tentacles spurred Korosensei and the others into action. "KILL HIM!" The students shouted while Korosensei struggled to get out of his bonds. Not seeing another chance to shoot, Amelia put her pistol away and looked up to see Kayano, Nagisa and Karasuma staring at her in shock. "What? He was literally lying there and no one was moving to get him so I made the first move." She explained her actions and shrugged her shoulders.
Shaking her head, Kayano looked to Nagisa holding his notebook and said, "Well you're notes are bound to come in handy at some point." Smiling, Nagisa replied, "Yep, and until then I'm going to keep jotting things down." They turned back to the commotion in front of them to see Korosensei finally free himself and leap onto the school roof. The moment he landed, his three missing tentacles grew back!
Breathing deeply for a few moments, Korosensei looked at the students and stated, "Guess whose earned themselves extra homework!" "NO FAIR!" The whole class shouted back as their teacher zoomed away. Far from being upset though, Meg turned to everyone excitedly and shouted, "We're getting closer to a solution, I can feel it! Heck Amelia even got three of his tentacles this time instead of one!" Isogai joined in his fellow Rep's pep talk by holding up a fist in determination and stating, "Keep this up and it's only a matter of time before we've got him!"
The rest of the class cheered and began talking excitedly with each other. Even Kayano and Nagisa joined in the conversations. Amelia smiled at her fellow classmates excitement, but didn't join in the discussions going on. Instead, she turned to Karasuma and asked, "Well, what do you think sir?" He briefly looked to her and then looked back towards the other kids and said what he was thinking, "A bunch of Junior High Kids, keyed up on Assassination? Strangest class ever." Amelia laughed at that and replied, "I agree. But it definitely makes things interesting."
Shaking himself from his thoughts, Karasuma turned to her and said, "Oh yes, before I forget, since I am the new PE Teacher I wanted to discuss with you how the class will be structured from now on." Blinking in surprise, Amelia tilted her head and answered, "Ok?"
"I'm going to start off the PE class with a few Knife drills. Then we will have the class take a five minute break, and then I will have you take over with beginning to instruct them on hand to hand." Pointing to herself, Amelia asked, "Why me sir? You are really good at hand to hand." Giving her a pointed stare, Karasuma explained, "But I'm not the Master Martial Artist here, right? What you will be able to teach them will be far more effective then anything I can." Deciding not to argue with him further, considering she had already previously agreed to train her peers, she instead asked,"Is there a specific Martial Arts style you would like me to teach them?" Karasuma shrugged his shoulders and admitted,"Nothing specific comes to mind. Teach whatever you believe will suit their needs the best." Hearing this, Amelia's mind wandered, trying to think of a good style to teach. Suddenly her Leopard Spirit within her began to purr in her mind, rumbling, 'Teach Pai Zhua! Awaken the Beasts within them! Perfect technique for unpredictable target.' And Amelia began to grin as she thought, and agreed with Sasha, of what would be the perfect Martial Art style to teach to deal with a weird, Octopus-like Teacher. Then smirking, she thought, 'Well, they have to get the basics down first Sasha.'
And so the next day Mr. Karasuma became Professor Karasuma to the 3E students. The previous afternoon, Amelia asked her new Professor if the Ministry would be able to provide sparring mats for their PE class, so that once everyone gets the basics down, they could begin practicing against one another. He told her that it could be arranged, but unfortunately it would not be ready in time for the first class.
Nodding in understanding, Amelia asked,"Then for the first class, could you just do the introduction to Knife handling all class? I want to make sure I have all of my equipment before I begin teaching." Karasuma agreed. When PE class came around. Professor Karasuma had them all line up in rows and then began showing them a sequence of knife movements. He then had them do each movement in a counting drill sequence.
"ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR! FIVE! SIX! SEVEN! EIGHT! ONE…" Could be heard as all the 3-E students voices called out the same sequence. Standing at the front, Professor Karasuma stood with his suit jacket off and instructed, "Make those knives sing! Treat every move like a legit kill strike!" Beside him Korosensei stood in an overlarge PE shirt with a red baseball hat on, smiling serenely as he watched his students practice slashing their knives through the air.
Glancing at the giant yellow octopus in the corner of his vision, Karasuma stated, "You're in the way here Pal. Physical Ed is my department now." Looking dejectedly down at the ground, Korosensei replied, "But I'm lonely…" Still not looking at him, Karasuma answered, "Find something else to do then, like I don't know. There's a sand box, have a field day." And pointing behind him with his thumb, there sure enough was a sand box.
Amelia ignored the exchange and instead focused on continuing practicing her knife skills. This practice for Assassination was perfect for also honing her Power Ranger skills, so she was not going to pass this opportunity up! She finally paused in her movements when she heard Maehara ask their new Professor, "Can I ask an obvious question sir? If there's an actual point to this training, should uh, should we be practicing right in front of our Target?"
Hands on his hips, Karasuma looked to the orange haired boy and stated, "Whether killing or studying, it's the same principle. Drill the basics and they'll serve you well." Amelia felt herself nodding in agreement with his statement, but she could also see that most of the rest of her class still looked confused. Seeing this as well, Karasuma then said, "Isogai, Maehara step up."
Interested in what Professor Karasuma had planned, Amelia moved to stand to the side so that she could see everything happen. Once both boys were standing in front of him, Karasuma stated bluntly, "I want you to try to tag me with those knives." Hearing this, both boys stiffened in surprise and Isogai asked, "Wait, like as a team?" Looking nervous, Maehara added on, "Do you think thats a good idea?"
"The blades are harmless, they weren't designed to injure human beings." Then loosening his tie, Karasuma stated, "Tell you what, manage to hit me, and you can go home for the day." Amelia couldn't help but smirk to herself at how unsure looking both boys looked. To be fair, she had a slight advantage over her classmates. She had been fighting since before she could fully form sentences. Isogai and Maehara exchanged one more glance with each other, before getting into ready stances with Isogai stating, "Well here goes nothing!"
With those words, Isogai leapt first and lunged his knife towards Karasuma, who easily dodged out of the way. "Come on…" Karasuma said, as if he was disappointed at that attempt. Frowning, Maehara tried attacking next and their teacher just grabbed his wrist with the knife in it and pushed him away, then once again dodged a swing from Isogai. Then as the two began to attack together, he easily evaded their attacks, not even breaking a sweat and was even able to talk to the rest of the class, saying, "See this kids? Even with the bare minimum know how, I could practically dodge their attacks in my sleep. They've got no technique."
That seemed to annoy both boys. As one they ran at Karasuma, who simply grabbed both their arms and threw both of them to the ground! Letting their arms go, He looked down at them and stated, "If you can't land a hit against a guy like me, you haven't got a prayer against a target whose top speed is Mach 20. See,"
Here everyone turned to see Korosensei now was dressed in a green Kimono with some tea and had a giant sand sculpture of a castle next to him! "We've been sparring for half a minute and look! He's had time to change clothes, make tea, and build a model of Hisaka Castle." Then helping the two boys up from the ground, he finished saying, "That is why we drill. When the whole class can hit me, you have a shot. Do what I tell you as often as I tell you to do it, you'll become assassins." Tightening his tie he turned to the whole class and stated calmly, "This isn't recess kids. From now on gym class will be about the basics. Stabbing, correct use of firearms, hand to hand combat, everything you need to succeed."
Amelia had to smile at the surprised and awed looks of her classmates. She was happy that Professor Karasuma was turning out to be an awesome teacher. As Karasuma dismissed the class, Amelia suddenly felt her animal senses tingle and become very alert. Confused, because her Pai Zhua Spirit had been abnormally quiet ever since she was gifted the Power of being a Power Ranger, only recently speaking up lately to make a comment here or there now that there were other Pai Zhua Members near. Amelia closed her eyes and tried to find out from Sasha what was wrong.
'Nothing wrong,' her Spirit seemed to excitedly reassure, as it seemed to pace agitatedly, like a trapped cat, in her minds eye. 'Mate! Mate nearby! Can smell them!' Eyes whipping open wide with shock, she couldn't help but blurt out loud, "WHAT?!"
