Previously on Dragon Ball Aftermath: Rewrite

Simultaneously, all eighteen destroyers stand in a circle around Zateus, their hands raised. They all charge up different ultimate Hakai attacks they created over the years.

Beerus raises his hand. "I am the authority of Universe Seven, God of Destruction Beerus. You will be erased with the rest of the cosmos. Judgment will now be passed onto you, Zateus."

He flickers, as more and more galaxies would disappear. "100%... Absolute Hakai... Disappear." Simultaneously, all of the other destroyers would fire their forbidden attacks as well.

A bright explosion outshines all the stars, all the galaxies.

Chapter Seventeen

Zateus would stand there, a very faint burn mark on his body. "Not bad, destroyers." Without moving, all the destroyers suddenly fall to the ground, panting.

Vegeta squints. "What the hell did he do? I couldn't see him move."

"That doesn't matter right now," Goku replies, getting into a stance. He closes his eyes, combining Super Saiyan Blue and Ultra Instinct. "We're up next. We can do this."

Vegeta yells, powering up into Super Saiyan White. Broly enters Legendary Super Saiyan three but suddenly falls to his knees, powering down. "Grh... Sorry, you two. That power took too much of a toll on my body."

"It's fine, you've done enough," Goku replies. The two launch forward at full speed, swinging a kick. Zateus catches them, throwing them in opposite directions. Vegeta grunts, shooting behind the evil god and launching an attack. "ANTI-FINAL FLASH!"

A massive dark beam heads toward him, but Zateus turns around and catches it, throwing it at Goku, who barely dodges it. The Saiyan uses Kai Kai, teleporting behind him. He rapidly barrages the evil god, who deflects his punches with ease.

Zateus then brings back his hand and shoves it into Goku, making him yell in agony. He then rips glowing essence out of him, which would've been his energy. He coughs up blood, falling to his knees.

The god absorbs the energy, turning toward Vegeta. The prince growls and leaps back. "Come to think of it, where the hell has Seji been this entire time?"

"He told me his plan," Whis says. "He is preparing for something."

Vegeta nods and zooms forward, covering his fist in white divine energy. "TAKE THIS!"

He goes to punch him, but Zateus catches it, staring at him. He then crushes his fist, before throwing him. Vegeta grunts, holding his wrist. "Son of a bitch... He's toying with us..."

Suddenly, he sees Seji teleport in. "You... What took you so long?"

The sage smiles, cracking his knuckles. "I've been charging up my energy." He inhales, entering Ultra Instinct Stage 2. Almost faster than Vegeta can perceive, he zooms in front of Zateus, swinging a kick.

The evil god blocks it, scrunching his eyebrows. "You... You're the son of him. The sage of the namekians."

Behind the sage, the angels go to attack Zateus, who would clash with all of them, his face expressionless. "I may not be as powerful as my son was in his prime, but... I am far more experienced than him."

He raises his hands as they turn into a blur. Suddenly, all the angels fall to the ground, grunting. Seji would smirk, rapidly barraging him. Zateus dodges all of his punches, before uppercutting Seji, sending him flying up. "UGHH!"

The namekian lands on his back before getting up, fixing his jaw. He flickers and turns into afterimages, creating a lot of exploding orbs around Zateus. They all detonate, resulting in a cataclysmic blast.

When the smoke disperses, Zateus would be completely unaffected. He raises his finger, launching a tiny beam that pierces through Seji's chest. He coughs up spit, stumbling forward.

"Stand aside, son of Zalama," Zateus warns. "My business is with Daishinkan."

Seji smiles, raising his fist. "I'm afraid not." He launches forward again, raising his hand. "FIST OF ZALAMA!"

A massive glowing fist forms, being bigger than the Solar System. It comes crashing down onto Zateus, who launches a beam that slices cleanly through it. "That won't work."

Suddenly, Zateus flickers, not moving, but Seji is slammed in the gut, his pupils disappearing. He gets launched back, crashing through the ground. He coughs, twitching in pain.

The evil god walks past him, heading toward Daishinkan. "You fought valiantly, but, as I said, my business is not with you."

He suddenly stops as Seji gets up, the entire multiverse rumbling. Lightning shoots far up into the sky. "It's finished charging. It's time to end this."

[Music: Two Steps From Hell - Flameheart]

Zateus turns around, raising an eyebrow. Daishinkan's eyes widen. "What is this? I've never seen him use this much power before."

Seji raises his fist as the ground breaks apart. "Prepare yourself, Zateus. I am going to use my ultimate trump card. Come forth, Konton!"

An ear-piercing roar would be heard, as a black dragon lands behind the sage. It would have glowing red eyes. It wouldn't be like the normal wish-granting dragons, but would be a full dragon slightly bigger than Daishinkan's palace.

Everybody watches in awe. Vegeta walks forward. "Wait... Didn't you say that dragon was a part of you?"

"I did," the sage confirms. "We are connected through life force. I have changed him into a companion for battle. The only wish he grants now is the wish for death."

Konton snarls, glaring at Zateus. The evil god watches, intrigued. "As expected from the son of Zalama. It seems summoning your dragon takes a long time, but the outcome is worth the wait."

Seji leaps up, landing on top of the dragon. "This dragon is above even the angels, maybe even could give Daishinkan himself trouble. He will be your main opponent now."

"Fine," Zateus turns around, raising a finger. He charges a red beam, it turning the entire area red. "I have warned you to not get in my way, but now you must die."

He launches it, but the dragon opens its jaw, eating the blast. The evil god pauses before the dragon zooms forward, flapping its wings. It roars, biting down on Zateus.

He grunts, the teeth piercing into him. "What?!" Konton then flies up at full speed, a glowing trail following it. It goes into space before glowing and launching Zateus out of its mouth with a blast toward a distant galaxy.

A moment later, Zateus reappears, his chest bleeding. He raises his hand, closing his wounds. "You caught me off guard. I underestimated you."

Goku and Vegeta would be slack-jawed, unable to comprehend what is going on. Konton launches forward again, its massive feet shattering the ground with each step.

Zateus gets into a stance before stretching out his hand. Suddenly, the dragon stops in place. He then swings his arm, launching the dragon back without touching it.

Konton would not like this at all. He roars even louder than before, getting angry. It launches a massive beam out of its mouth, and Zateus does the same. The two beams clash, breaking apart reality around it.

Seji suddenly hops off and zooms behind Zateus, kicking him into the blast. It consumes him, destroying multiple surrounding galaxies. Omesus's eyes widen. "Zateus!"

Zateus would stand there, smoke curling off him. There would be multiple burn marks on him. He opens his eyes, looking up toward the dragon. "It's time to stop fighting you in my base form."

Seji's eyes widen, hopping back on Konton. "Y... Your base form?!"

Zateus closes his eyes, as a massive heatwave forces Konton to back off. He opens his eyes, and they glow a bright silver. His hair stands up, and it turns silver as well. "This is my Ultra Instinct."

"What makes your Ultra Instinct different from everybody else's?" Seji asks, unphased.

The evil god chuckles. "Being the son of Zalama, I thought you'd have known..."

"What is he talking about?" Goku asks, sweat going down his face from the intense heat. "This heat... It's not normal. This pressure is so intense, I can barely move..."

Zateus walks forward, the ground under him being scorched. "I... CREATED ULTRA INSTINCT."

[Music: Two Steps from Hell - Power of Darkness]

Seji shakes, being terrified. Everybody else except the angels would be shocked. Beerus clenches his fist. "Impossible... No... Stop lying... THAT TECHNIQUE WAS CREATED BY THE ANGELS!"

He turns toward Whis, who would close his eyes. "The truth is out. The first mortal, Zateus, created the technique. We angels learned it after he was defeated."

"Zeno destroyed universes thirteen through... nineteen," Zateus says, shocking the mortals even more. "Right after retreating to Universe Nineteen, we were erased shortly after. Recently, though, we were brought back by the Super Dragon Balls."

"Universe Nineteen? How can that be?!" Vegeta clenches his fists. "The gods said there were only eighteen of them!"

"It's a long story, Vegeta," Vados replies. "Right now, we must be careful."

Konton roars, glowing. It zooms forward, flapping its wings. It goes to bite Zateus, but he flickers out of the way, his eyes closed. He then waves his hand, and the dragon is knocked down in an instant.

"I couldn't even see him move!" Goku yells, stepping back in shock.

Konton grunts, falling to the ground. Seji leaps down and kneels down, placing a hand on Konton's snout. "Forgive me for putting you in danger, old friend."

The dragon looks up at him, then closes its eyes. It disperses, retreating from the battle. Seji gets up, his robes swinging from the wind. Lightning strikes in the distance as he turns toward Zateus.

"I forfeit," Seji says. "If I die, so will my companion. I cannot do that to him."

The evil god walks forward, his expression unchanged. "Unfortunately, as I've said, I will have to kill you now. I have warned you not to get in my way."

He flickers forward at speeds only matched by Daishinkan. He swings a punch, but suddenly it is stopped by a hand. Daishinkan would've stopped it, grunting. His arm shakes, the ground breaking under them.

"Defending your enemy?" Zateus says, raising an eyebrow. "I see. We'll fight one-on-one."

They shoot up, their auras intertwining. They go back and forth, each clash shaking the universe. Daishinkan launches forward and swings his staff, but the attack would be dodged.

He then charges a beam, but Zateus blasts him away before he can launch it. Daishinkan's eyes shine as he enters stage 2. He yells, slamming a punch into Zateus's face, sending him flying.

The Grand Priest yells, going to grab him, but Zateus flickers, punching him out of the way. He looks up to see Daishinkan gone and raises an eyebrow. He turns around to see a fist flying at him.

It slams him in the face, sending him flying. Daishinkan launches forward and spins his staff, trying to jab him with it. Zateus moves out of the way of the attacks, chuckling.

He then raises his fist, covering it in white divine energy. He slams it in the Grand Priest's gut, sending him flying down onto the ground. Daishinkan opens his eyes, getting up.

"I will not let you win this battle!" He closes his eyes, raising his staff. He flies up toward Zateus, who would send a flurry of energy blasts. He dodges all the attacks, shooting in front of the evil god.

He spins his staff and slams it on Zateus, sending him flying down. Daishinkan launches after him, covering his fist in white divine energy and swinging it. Zateus flickers out of the way instantly.

The shock wave from the Grand Priest's punch would create a blinding light, forcing the other fighters to look away. Zateus growls and spins around, slamming his elbow into Daishinkan's face.

The angel grunts before raising his staff, charging a blast. "I'm not done yet! HAAA!" He launches the blast, a massive explosion sending everybody, even the angels, flying.

Zateus disperses the smoke, his glowing aura getting brighter. "I'm impressed, Daishinkan. You've improved since our first battle."

A harsh red glow surrounds him, as he enters stage two of Ultra Instinct. "Now, how will you fight stage two?"

The Grand Priest gets in a stance, before launching forward and barraging him. Zateus deflects the attacks with ease, before flicking his fingers and barraging him with millions of invisible forces.

Daishinkan coughs up blood, falling down to the ground. Goku gets nervous, looking up at Zateus. "Just with one attack... This guy's less powerful but deadlier than Abysus! How do we stand a chance?"

The evil god then raises his hand, looking down sadly at everyone. "For the sake of the multiverse, I will eliminate the gods and take the role as Omni King. I will give a chance for the mortals to stand aside."

In response, Vegeta powers up further, warping space around him. "Like hell I will, you bastard!"

Goku does the same, getting in a stance. He enters Ultra Instinct, his hair spiking up slightly for a moment. Whis watches and smiles, before powering up into stage two. "Prepare yourselves!"

Zateus charges a massive red energy ball, launching it down at the fighters. All the angels power-up, trying to stop the blast. Daishinkan gets up and does the same, alongside the destroyers and everybody else.

The blast would almost completely stop, but it would still inch toward the fighters. Seji yells, trying to disperse it. "Its power is too much! We can't hold it for much longer!"

[MUSIC STOP]

[Music: Two Steps From Hell - Stormwatch]

Goku closes his eyes, his hands slowly being consumed by the blast. I have to... catch up. Against Seji, I haven't been able to unlock the next stage. What can we do?

He sees a tall figure appear in his mindscape, one with an aura that looks like a galaxy. It would hold a staff, its presence being overwhelming. "I will help you unlock it, Saiyan. The gods need you. Wake up."

He opens his eyes, his hair spiking up, almost like a Super Saiyan. A light red aura surrounds him, a vortex of energy surrounding him. He yells, dispersing the massive blast into several pieces.

They scatter across the area, breaking more parts of it. Goku would not be in Ultra Instinct anymore but in the next stage. Whis turns toward him, his eyes widening. "Goku-san... You've done it!"

He would've unlocked Ultra Instinct Stage 2 with the help of an unknown being in the direst of times. Vegeta glances at him, smirking. "Finally. You caught up to me. No, you've gotten even stronger. What a pain..."

Goku looks at his hands. "This isn't the state I used against Whis and Daishinkan, but it'll do."

Zateus watches from above, squinting. Goku's aura would outshine the other angels. "His power... How unusual. I wonder how he is able to use it this well?"

Daishinkan gets up from the ground, supporting himself with his staff. "It's time, my children. As we have once done against Abysus, we must fuse again."

He raises his hand, as all the angels would place their hands on his. There'd be a bright light, being eerily calm. A new angelic being would emerge, being even more powerful than Daishinkan.

He would have multiple rings surrounding him. "Behold... It's time for your end, Zateus. This time, no mercy."

The angelic fusion launches forward at incredible speeds, clashing a punch with the evil god. A massive shock wave shoots out, shaking the universes. "HAAAAAA!" The two clash back and forth, tearing everything in the vicinity apart.

Goku watches from below, having lowered his power to keep his transformation longer. "You can do it..."

Zateus clashes with his attacks at an extreme speed, his face expressionless. "The angelic fusion... I was curious as to when you would do that again. However, don't forget I created Ultra Instinct."

He speeds up to an unreasonable pace in stage 2, sending the fusion flying. But Daishinkan launches toward him at full speed, kicking him back. The two continue clashing, countering, blocking, and dodging attacks.

It would be an amazing sight for any. They leap far away from the fighters, shooting across the galaxies. Each punch would send galaxies back, forming wormholes in space.

Unfortunately, despite being weaker, Zateus would be much more experienced in Ultra Instinct than even Daishinkan himself. He rapidly barrages him, being extremely fast.

He then chops the fusion back toward the fighters, splitting the entire area in half. The evil god leaps down, landing in front of the fusion. "No matter what you do, you cannot win, Daishinkan."

Daishinkan grunts, having sustained a lot of damage from his attack. "This is bad... At this rate, Zeno himself will appear from the damage to the multiverse. I have to kill him before that happens."

He raises his hand, launching a giant Anti-Matter blast. Zateus does the same and the two beams clash, eroding the ground away. They both yell, the beams getting bigger.

Vegeta growls, leaping by Daishinkan and trying to assist him. "ANTI-FINAL FLASH!"

Daishinkan's beam gets slightly bigger, but it wouldn't be enough. The blast gets closer and Vegeta's eyes widen, realizing the mistake he's made. "SHIT!"

At the last second, Daishinkan sends a burst of wind that knocks the prince out of the way, as the attack consumes him. "AGHHHH!"

He flies back, falling to the ground. He defuses, leaving nobody else left to battle against the evil god. Goku watches from below, getting nervous. "This is bad... I can't phase him in my new form..."

He then remembers talking to a figure familiar to himself. He opens his eyes and enders his mindscape, looking around. "Hey! Come out! I need your help!"

There would be no response, and he clenches his fists. "Give me the power I used against Whis and Daishinkan! It's urgent!"

He would hear a faint laugh, as said figure appears, walking toward him. "You're pathetic. Trying to rely on power from somebody you don't even remember. Give me one reason why I should even give you a slight HINT of it."

"My friends and the gods are in danger!" Goku replies. "Who even are you?!"

The figure laughs, as he then steps out of the shadows, and Goku's eyes widen. "You..."

He then finds himself back in reality. He looks at his hand, but wouldn't be in the same transformation. He would feel something odd, though.

Zateus walks up to Daishinkan and the angels, creating a dark red energy blade. "I wish it didn't have to come to this in the first place, but this was your choice."

"You won't be able to get past Zeno's guards," Daishinkan says weakly, coughing up blood. "You... stand no chance."

"I have already thought of that," the evil god replies. He then raises his hand, an earring manifesting in it. Daishinkan's eyes widen. "No... You don't plan to..."

Zateus smiles. "That's right... I plan to fuse with Omesus to create the ultimate warrior capable of destroying Zeno himself."

"You bastard!" Goku then feels an ominous glow manifest in his hand. He yells, launching a massive neon blast that sends Zateus flying. "AGHHHH!"

He flies into a distant galaxy, and Goku powers down, falling to his knees. "I summoned that... power... I'll have to thank him later..."

Zateus reappears, burn marks on him. He grunts, his hands shaking. "What was that...? This feeling... The pain... What is it?"

Daishinkan weakly turns toward Goku. "That... power... Son Goku, come... over here... There's... something we need to do for you..."

Goku runs forward, and Zateus wouldn't stop him, surprisingly. "Daishinkan! You're going to be okay!"

Whis tries to get up, but cannot. "Goku-san, there's a... secret form we will give you to defeat him, a form that will boost your Ultra Instinct Stage 2. But... It..."

Vados stares the Saiyan in the eyes. "It will require... a sacrifice of all of us angels."

This has to be the craziest chapter yet! Seji's ultimate technique, Daishinkan fighting, Goku unlocking stage 2, a potential fusion between Omesus and Zateus, and a hint of Goku's unknown power! But I assure you, the next chapter will be even crazier! Prepare for chapter eighteen. It will blow your socks off!
