Previously on Dragon Ball Aftermath: Rewrite

After fighting the resurrected enemies, our heroes band together to take on the mortals beyond the levels of gods, known as Abysus, Omesus, and Zateus. The fight between Goku and Qhuteus is heating up, becoming more and more intense. Will Earth, let alone the multiverse, be able to handle the growing intensity? Find out now.

Chapter Twenty-Nine

[Music: I Am Unbreakable by Niklas Johansson - [Metal Rock, Action Music]]

Zateus raises his fist, covering it with white divine energy. He leaps up and yells, swinging it at Daishinkan. The angel raises his staff to block the attack, skidding back. "Grah!"

The Grand Priest sends a blast of energy out of his staff that causes Zateus to stumble. He then spins his staff and rapidly jabs at the evil god's chest, knocking him back. Zateus growls and yells, grabbing his staff and snapping it in half.

He swings a punch down to Daishinkan, but he flips out of the way, launching an anti-matter blast that sends his opponent flying. Zateus grunts, skidding back, as the Grand Priest then teleports behind him and slams him to the ground with a kick.

He chuckles, closing his eyes and entering Ultra Instinct Stage 2 in an instant. "Very well. I will fight you seriously, Daishinkan."

The two launch at each other and clash elbows, an explosion breaking a chunk off the planet's surface. Omesus watches on, but he sees some fighters charging toward him from the corner of his eye.

"Tch..." He yells and powers up into Super Saiyan White, raising his fists. Jimizu uses Instant Transmission to teleport behind him, but he nails the Yardratian in the face without looking, knocking him out.

Roselle and Rylibeu dive toward him, firing a combined energy blast, but he flicks it back, knocking them out of the sky. Broly clenches his fists and leaps forward, clashing a punch with the Saiyan God.

Jiren dives behind him, punching him with full force. It wouldn't make him move, but it would annoy him. Omesus roars and bursts his aura. It would be so dense that it'd act as its own force field.

Buu and Maji Kayo slither toward him, attempting to surround him, but it would be no good with his powerful aura. He leaps forward and slams his fist in Caulifla's face, sending her tumbling back.

Gotenks dashes past the others, ramming into Omesus. "GUH!"

Vegeta yells and tries to kick him from the side, but the brute blocks it, his arm shaking. "Why, you...!"

Piccolo leaps on Shenron and flies forward. All the fighters get out of the way in time for Omesus to be met with Shenron. The dragon goes to ram into him, but he raises both of his hands and skids back, slowing its momentum.

The rest of the other fighters would barrage him, making it more difficult for him to stand his ground. "FROST DEMON!"

Frieza smirks and runs toward the rest of the fighters, launching a death ball that sends many of them flying. Frost powers up into his diamond form and rushes at his enemy, trying to stab him with a Ki blade.

Frieza deflects it and shoves a hand through Frost's chest, stunning him and knocking him to the ground. Gohan tries to grab the emperor, but because of his weakened state after the fusion, he isn't able to match him.

The emperor spins around and kicks him into Murichim, putting the two of them out of commission. Paparoni smirks and hovers in the air, a bright light engulfing him and Koichiarator.

Anilaza forms and roars, launching a massive mouth beam at Frieza, who blocks it, chuckling. "This is nothing."

Piccolo jumps down from Shenron and kicks Frieza to the ground, causing a small crater to form. "What the?!"

"I knew not to trust you from the start," the namekian says, before repeatedly slamming his foot on the emperor's chest. Frieza coughs up spit, before yelling and flaring up his aura.

He punches the namekian in the face, stunning him. "DIE!" He raises his finger, launching a death beam. Shenron pushes Piccolo out of the way as the beam pierces him.

The dragon falls to the ground, grunting. Seeing this, Piccolo gets enraged and yells, rushing forward and slamming a kick into Frieza, knocking him across the landscape.

He knocks the Frost Demon back and forth, and the emperor completely cannot fight back. Piccolo raises his hand, glowing lights appearing at the tip of his fingertips and palm.

"Special Be-" Omesus rushes forward and elbows Piccolo in the head, knocking him back. "GAH!"

Frieza pants, getting off the ground. "I didn't need your help."

"I do not abandon my companions, even if I haven't known them for long," the brute replies, punching Kakunsa back. "The end of the gods is near."

The frost demon scoffs, holding his gut. "As long as I get to be the one to kill those two colorful Omni King brats and those two other monkeys, I'll be satisfied."

Daishinkan rapidly barrages Zateus with precise movements, but he counters most of them, his face remaining expressionless. "It will remain the same outcome as the last two times, Daishinkan. I did not plan to make your death painful, but you're leaving me with little choice."

He closes his eyes and inhales, energy drawing toward him. The Grand Priest looks up with his enhanced vision to see the surrounding galaxies drawing toward the Milky Way.

The evil god raises his hand, as all of that energy gathers in his hand. The orb would pulsate with energy and have gravitational lensing around it. It slowly chips away at the surrounding reality. "Farewell, Daishinkan."

Seji would see the attack and his eyes widen. He slams his staff on the ground, a barrier surrounding every individual. "RUN!"

[MUSIC STOP]

"Cosmic Ravaging," Zateus says, launching a beam that sends everybody flying, even disrupting Goku and Qhuteus's battle. A pure white beam travels across the planet's surface, vaporizing it.

Vegeta and Gohan watch in shock as they, alongside many other fighters, would be in the attack's path. "SHIT!"

The beam collides with them, and travels through outer space, erasing stars and galaxies in its path. It would keep going until it disperses right before it leaves the universe.

Everybody's ears ring, and Goku watches in horror at the devastation caused to his planet. A majority of the surface would be covered in charred rocks and lava. "What have you... done? They're all..."

He turns to see four familiar figures in the smoke cloud. It disperses, as all four of Zeno's guards would've arrived just in time. Zateus's eyes widen, sweat going down the side of his face. "No... Not them..."

All the fighters get up, still alive thanks to the guards. The other Zeno walks forward, angry at the evil gods. He raises one finger and points to his counterpart in the cage. "Free him."

"Yes, sir!" All four guards fly forward at full speed, dashing past Zateus and Omesus in an instant. They yell and punch the cage, completely shattering it. Qhuteus growls at the sight of this, crossing his arms. "Well, well... Now I have to deal with two of them."

Seji yells and powers up into his Dragon God form, vanishing next to Piccolo and placing a hand on his chest, healing him. "Come, Piccolo. We need you to help us."

Piccolo grunts and gets up, powering back up next to his master. "Looks like we've got reinforcements. We need to put an end to this war for good."

Omesus runs forward toward them, yelling and covering his fist in white divine energy. "It's time to end your bloodline! You dishonor Zalama-sensei!"

Piccolo leaps forward and yells, swinging his staff and clashing with the brute. Seji raises his fist as the ground breaks apart. "Come forth, Konton!"

Everybody on the battlefield hears a roar and a colossal black dragon lands behind the sage. "It is good to see you once again, old friend."

Seji leaps on Konton's back and it roars, rushing forward. Each step would break the ground, causing more lava to spew out. Omesus knocks Piccolo back, but then Konton bites down on the Saiyan. "GAHHHH!"

Blood goes down his body, dripping on the ground. He yells, punching the dragon's snout, but it would only anger it. Its mouth glows as it launches Omesus into space with a beam.

[Music: Two Steps From Hell - Never Back Down]

He crashes into the Moon, completely shattering it into pieces. He coughs up blood, panting heavily. "Zateus... I will not... fail my mission! I'm sorry, old friend, but... I have to use my ultimate attack."

Omesus flies down toward Earth, a sparkling white trail following him. His power increases beyond anything he's ever felt before, and his hair grows longer. "This was a transformation I failed to master. A power even beyond my true form. If I use it at full power, I'll die."

He enters the atmosphere and his aura encases him completely, forming into a white dragon with red eyes. The attack would resemble Super Shenron. "This is... my trump card!"

Seji's eyes widen and Omesus flies down toward him, clashing with Konton. The sage yells, nearly falling off his companion. Konton growls, skidding back from the force of his attack.

Suddenly, Shenron roars and rams his head into Omesus, assisting Konton with stopping the technique. Seji looks to see Piccolo next to him, his hands raised. Despite their efforts, the Saiyan God continues to overpower them, damaging their companions.

The rest of the gods watch from below. Beerus clenches his fists, his destruction aura surrounding him. "Ever since Abysus, I haven't been able to do anything..."

The gods of destruction around him fly over to Piccolo and Seji, doing their best to help them. Beerus closes his eyes and remembers one thing Whis taught him millions of years ago.

A god of destruction's duty is to help maintain order in the multiverse, Whis had said. You must remain strong.

He had destroyed his entire race because of their threat to the universe. He never could live down that trauma. Before then, he was dedicated to his role as a god and worked as hard as he could to make sure Universe Seven flourished.

But when his race became corrupt over time and threatened the universe, he had to do the hardest thing of his life, and that was to eliminate them, even his own family. Since then, he became a shell of his former self.

He opens his eyes, and his pupils would glow white. His power explodes, much to the surprise of Whis and some of the other angels. It is his fault that his universe had fallen from grace, and now he will not let it be destroyed.

His destruction aura distorts and turns white. He yells, the ground under him vaporizing. Whis's eyes widen. "Could it be...? Beerus has unlocked the power no other god of destruction has been able to."

The white divine energy flows through Beerus's veins, mixing with his destruction Ki. He yells, launching forward and vanishing in front of Piccolo and Seji on Konton's head, surprising them. On one hand, Beerus summons destruction energy. In the other, he summons white divine energy.

He presses them together and amplifies the power of destruction. He raises his hand, black electricity shooting everywhere. "True Hakai."

The earth pulsates, as a massive glowing beam shoots out of Beerus's hand, completely stopping Omesus. He yells, his body crumbling from the amplified destruction Ki.

Omesus looks down at Beerus and sheds a tear, before vaporizing in the destroyer's beam. Beerus lowers his hand, then closes his eyes and falls from the dragon, plummeting toward the ground.

Whis flies over and catches him, carrying him to safety. "Well done, my lord. You've prevailed against one of our greatest enemies."

Zateus stares at the place Omesus died with wide eyes. He stands there, completely paralyzed. "O... Omesus..."

Daishinkan raises his hand, the two halves of his staff reconnecting. He picks it up and leaps forward toward Zateus, yelling. He goes to jab it at the evil god, but Zateus stops it with his hand, still staring at the spot.

Abysus vanishes beside Zateus and yells, slamming a punch into Daishinkan's face and sending him tumbling back. "Father, get a hold of yourself!"

White divine energy explodes around Zateus, as his stage two flickers a bit, slightly going out of control. He glows and launches toward Daishinkan. He grabs the Grand Priest and slams him to the ground, releasing an explosion from his body that damages both of them.

Goku launches himself toward Qhuteus, launching a Kamehameha toward the sorcerer. He smirks and opens his mouth, eating the blast and spitting it back at him. The Saiyan raises his arms to block the attack, flying back.

He claps his hand, creating hundreds of Katchin blocks and sending them toward Qhuteus, but the sorcerer simply slices them in half with his bare hand. Goku vanishes behind him and goes to nail him in the side of the face with a kick.

Qhuteus blocks the attack and raises his hand, releasing red lightning that once again stabs through the Saiyan's body, making him yell in pain. "I would've expected better from a Saiyan trained under Daishinkan himself."

Goku chuckles, clutching his chest. "Is that so? You underestimate my potential."

He raises his hand, a staff forming in it. "I rarely like to use weapons, but there's only one that clicks with me."

Master Roshi watches from below, his eyes widening. "Is that..."

The Saiyan creates a glowing power pole. He gets in a stance and Qhuteus stares at him, then laughs. "What sort of staff is that? Is this some sort of joke?"

"Extend!" In a quintillionth of a millisecond, the power pole expands and nails Qhuteus in the face, launching him away. "OOF!"

The staff pushes him through a mountain, surprising him. "What the hell?!"

"He's remade that old power pole of his," Master Roshi says, as he can't help but smile. "Never thought I'd see him using one again."

The sorcerer vanishes in front of Goku and goes to swipe at him, but Goku blocks it with the pole, then it extends and wraps around him with a lot of flexibility, encasing him.

The Saiyan yells and swings it down, slamming Qhuteus on the ground repeatedly. Qhuteus gets irritated and lightning crackles around him, breaking the power pole. "Fine. I'll fight seriously as well."

He yells, his spiky white hair standing up. He raises his hand and summons a red staff. Reality distorts around it. He raises it to the air and lightning shoots into the sky, shaking the entire multiverse.

Goku smirks and reforms the power pole in his hand, getting in a stance. "Let's go!"

Qhuteus roars, launching forward at the Saiyan. The two clash their staffs, a shock wave causing rifts in the universes. Zateus yells, pummeling Daishinkan to the ground in his fury.

He flickers out of stage two, not in the right state of mind to handle it. Thanks to this, Daishinkan is able to kick him back, knocking him to the ground. He gets up, panting.

The angels and gods of destruction land next to him to help him. Some angels begin to heal Daishinkan with their staffs. Zateus gets up, with his eyes bloodshot. "YOU KILLED HIM!"

He roars and flies forward. Some angels try to stop him, but he plows through them, going to grab Daishinkan. The Grand Priest spins his staff and nails him in the face.

Zateus growls and grabs him and knees him in the face with full force, breaking his nose. He mercilessly beats on the angel, severely injuring him. "YOU ARE THE REASON FOR ALL OF THIS! ZYDIS'S DEATH, OMESUS'S DEATH!"

He raises his fist, feeling himself tearing up. "JUST DIE!"

The evil god swings a punch to finish the Grand Priest off, but a blue hand stops it. He looks up to see one of Zeno's guards towering over him. The guard uppercuts him, sending him spiraling away.

Zateus lands on the ground, panting. Another guard vanishes above him and slams his foot on his chest, resulting in a sickening crunch. He coughs up blood, completely unable to move.

One of the Zenos walks up to him, raising their hand. "It's time to say bye-bye, Zateus. You've been a big problem for a long time."

Suddenly, Abysus teleports in front of Zeno and yells, slamming a punch into the Omni King's face. The guards watch in horror as he flies back because of the attack, crashing into a mountain.

The evil god laughs, his fist smoking. "I finally... did it! I killed the Omni King!"

A white glow envelops him and his smile fades. He looks at the other Zeno in horror as he closes his hand, Abysus disappearing from existence. Two of the guards rush over to where Zeno landed, while the other one walks up to Zateus.

Zateus tears up at the sight of Abysus's erasure. "Damn it... Is it over? No, Qhuteus can still... do this..."

He looks up at the blue sky, seeing the chaos slowly destroy the multiverse. "Zalama-sensei... I apologize... I won't be meeting you again after we bring a new peaceful multiverse..."

A white glow envelops him, and he closes his eyes. Zeno closes his hand, erasing Zateus from existence. The remaining fighters watch on as Zeno looks up toward the battle with Goku and Qhuteus.

The other two guards fly over, carrying an unconscious Zeno. "One of our lords is alive, but damaged. We will need immediate assistance from the angels."

The angels fly over, going to help Zeno, as Vegeta walks forward, powering down to his base form. "Kakarot... It's all up to you now. We're counting on you."

Seji walks over to help Jiren up. He then turns toward Piccolo. "Piccolo, there are many casualties, but we can still save some of them."

"Buu can help with magic," Buu says, walking over to Caulifla and kneeling. He places a hand on her forehead, instantly healing her. "There. You are all better!"

Caulifla grunts and gets up, stretching. "What... happened? Wait, is the battle over?"

"Our primary threat still stands," Toppo replies. "... Wait, where's Frieza?"

Vegeta pauses, looking around. "Tch... That coward probably ran off. I knew it was a mistake to resurrect him ever since the Tournament of Power!"

Out of nowhere, Zamasu rushes forward from the side, laughing. "DIE, VEGETA!"

He goes to stab him in the chest, but Whis vanishes to the side of him and stops his attack with his staff. "I'm afraid not. I haven't forgotten about you, Zamasu."

The angel taps his staff, a cage surrounding Zamasu. He growls, trying to break out of it, but is unable to. "LET ME OUT!"

Lavender and Basil walk over to Bergamo's dead body, getting on their knees and mourning their loss. Pirina does the same for Saonel.

Vegeta walks forward and powers up in Super Saiyan White for a brief moment, slamming his foot on the ground to get everybody's attention. "This isn't the time to mourn your losses! Kakarot is fighting for us and we need to put our hopes in him!"

Gohan walks up, standing next to the prince. "He's right, everybody. We need to stick together. You might all have a bad history with my dad with the Tournament of Power and all, but he's never had the wrong intentions. Right now, he's the most powerful fighter on our side."

There'd be silence between everybody for a second, until Toppo walks forward, followed by the Pride Troopers. "Son Goku has earned my respect. I will root for him."

One by one, the fighters walk forward, joining the group. The other Zeno wakes up, rubbing his head. "Owie..."

Vegeta inhales and yells at the top of his lungs, "KAKAROT!"

Goku and Qhuteus's fight stops, as the Saiyan turns toward his friend, his eyes widening.

"DON'T HOLD BACK!" the prince yells as the angels tap their staffs, creating a powerful barrier around them. "SHOW THAT BASTARD WHAT YOU CAN DO! DON'T WORRY ABOUT US!"

Goku would see that there are no enemies left other than Qhuteus and smirks. He turns toward the sorcerer, cracking his knuckles. "Guess I don't need to hold back my power for the planet's sake. It's time for our final battle, Qhuteus."

He inhales and roars, an aura the size of a skyscraper flaring up around him. Its force would be so tremendous that part of the entire planet crumbles, as many galaxies in the multiverse disintegrate.

The finale of the arc is the next chapter. It will probably be longer than usual. It'll be a special, action-packed, emotional finale for the Qhuteus arc. Look forward to it!
