Tori and Jade sit in the truck.
Jade:
I hope Ryder enjoys his last party.

Tori: Jade, we can go right to the cops. We have proof.

Jade: Fuck the police. Emma wanted us to find her. So we could get real justice... and revenge. The Daniels have had this coming for a hundred years, and nobody is going to get in my way. Especially with your help... right?

Tori: I'm with you to the end, Jade. You know that.

Jade looks down at her gun and puts it in her back pocket. They get out of the car.

Boy: Oh, shit, this is like that eclipse.

Girl: You're right. Look at the outline.

Boy: I can't tell if they're different.

Girl: There can't be two moons... that's not possible...

Tori looks up at the sky to see two moons.

Tori: What is that? Jesus, Jade, look up at the sky!

Jade: Beautiful, I don't give a shit. The world is ending, cool.

Tori: You're not listening! Something major is going down!

Jade: That's right. Ryder Daniel is going down.

Jade and Tori start to walk towards the building. Warren stops them.

Warren: Welcome to the end of the world, ladies. I'm glad you decided to escort me...

Tori: You look really good, Warren. Are you all right after today?
Warren: I flipped out on Ryder. I just hate bullies... and Tori, he's dangerous.

Jade: Where is he?

Warren: I didn't see him at the dorm again. I was holed up in my room.

Tori: Dude, have you been drinking?

Warren: Well, if you consider half a beer "drinking"...

Jade: Let's go, Tori.

Warren: Hey, hey... I know this is a bad time, but can I get one picture? I've been feeling like this might be the end of the world, so... I want to have something for prosperity.

Tori: Well... I don't blame you, Warren.

Warren: I know, I know, I'm a pain in the booty. Just one picture. Uh...
Warren uses Tori's camera to take a polaroid of the two of them together and keeps the photo.

Jade: We got no time for this shit. Come on, Tori.

Warren: Sorry... I just wanted to feel like a normal student after this week's ultraviolence. I never hit anybody like that before... I was always the one getting my ass kicked.

Tori: Hey, we still need your expert help. If you see Ryder, text me immediately, okay? And do not let him see you.

Warren: He won't. I know how to be invisible here...

Jade rushes into the party building, Tori loses her in the crowd

Tori (thinking): Okay, Jade, where the hell are you?

Jade enters through a door in the back of the VIP area and waits for Tori.

Tori: There you are. Jade, Ryder isn't here. Nobody has seen him tonight.

Jade: He's not upstairs or in the lockers.

Tori: Damn, maybe he's hiding in his dorm.

Jade: Then let's bail. Ryder can't hide anymore.

Tori and Jade start to walk towards the exit. Mr. Jefferson blocks them.

Mr. Jefferson: So you made it, Tori.

Tori: Oh, hey, Mr. Jefferson...

Mr. Jefferson: Um... are you both okay? You look like you're on a mission...

Tori: Oh, I was just looking for Ryder.

Mr. Jefferson: Huh?. I didn't know you were pals with him. I haven't seen him since this afternoon... He seemed pretty upset. I think he's still quite upset over the whole Kate situation.

Tori: Yeah, that makes sense.

Mr. Jefferson: Let's talk later, Tori. I have to announce the winner of the contest. I do wish you would have entered. You have to build up that résumé and portfolio, but I know you will.

Tori: Thanks, I hope so.

Mr. Jefferson: Okay, excuse me. I'm almost on...

Jade: Let's get the hell out of here, Tori.

Jade puts her hand on Tori's back and they leave the VIP area. Mr. Jefferson walks over to the DJ booth and takes the microphone.

"Everyday Heroes" Contest

Mr. Jefferson: Okay, everybody calm down. Thank you, thank you... I appreciate it. I don't want to get in the way of the party, but it's time to announce the winner of the "Everyday Heroes" contest.

Tori stops to watch. Jade, annoyed, grabs Tori's wrist and unsuccessfully tries to pull her towards the exit.

Mr. Jefferson: Before I do, I want to thank everybody who entered their photograph... and everybody who thought about entering. Now, this is the most important step in being an artist—sharing your work with the world. All of you represent Blackwell Academy, and everything our school stands for. As far as I'm concerned, you're all "Everyday Heroes"! The envelope, please... And the winner is… Oh my, what a shocker... Victoria Chase!

Victoria: Oh my God!

Victoria takes the microphone from Mr. Jefferson.

Victoria: Thank you so much, Mr. Jefferson. It was your incredible photography that brought me to Blackwell and I hope I can live up to your name... and fame. I also want to thank all the students for being so dedicated in their pursuit. And I'd like to dedicate this prize to Kate Marsh... She is the real "everyday hero" of Blackwell. And I can't wait for her to come back.
Tori and Jade leave the party. Once outside, Jade gets a text from Ryder that says,
"glad you got one last look at Emma
nobody will ever find her again after im done"

Jade: Oh Christ, Ryder just texted me... He says there won't be any evidence left after he's done.

Tori: Shit, we have to go to the junkyard right now!

Tori and Jade drive to the junkyard again.

Tori: It's too dark Jade, wait for me.

Jade: Right. Just get ready to use your rewind fast if Ryder tries to jump us.
Jade runs to the spot where Emma is buried.

Jade: Oh God, Tori, look... she's still there.

Tori: Don't look, Jade…

Someone sticks a syringe in the back of Tori's neck.

Tori: Oh no…

Tori falls to the ground. She unsuccessfully tries to use her rewind power.

Tori: Jade! Look out!

Jade jumps up and turns around, grabbing the gun from her back pocket.

Jade: What the fuck?

Jade is immediately shot in the head and killed. Tori watches her fall to the ground
Tori: Jade…

The killer slowly walks over to Tori. She looks up to see Mr. Jefferson looming over her.

Tori wakes up tied to a chair in the same bunker she and Jade discovered

Tori: (thinking) Jade...? What? Where? The Dark Room...

Tori: (shouting) Is anybody out there?! Please, help!

Tori successfully detaches her right foot from the chair.

Tori: (thinking) Finally! I'm free! Almost...

Tori uses her foot to pull the trolley in front of her. She then looks at a photo Jefferson took of her.

Tori: (thinking) I hate looking at myself like that. You'll pay for this, Jefferson.

Tori focuses on the photo.

Tori: (thinking) I promised I would never go back in time like this again... But this is the only way...

Tori wakes up lying on the ground with her hands tied, while Mr. Jefferson takes pictures of her.

Jefferson: This angle highlights your purity, see? The slightly unconscious model is often the most open and honest. No vanity or posing just...pure expression.

Jefferson moves Tori's leg

Mr. Jefferson: Oh Christ... Look at that perfect face.

Tori attempts to move her head, and Jefferson smacks her back into position.

Jefferson: (shouting) Hold that stare there! (angrily) Stay still!

Jefferson continues to take pictures. Tori whimpers and tries to move.

Jefferson: (shouting angrily) Oh, Tori! You fucked up my shot! (calmly) But please don't worry, we have all the time in the world. For now. I knew you were special the second I saw your first..."selfie". Yes, I still hate that word. But I love the purity of your own image. Not like Emma, who was always looking in the wrong places. Poor Emma. Wait... Let me try this angle.

Jefferson steps over Tori and continues to take pictures.

Jefferson: Don't move!

Jefferson positions Tori's shoulder.

Jefferson: Oh, much better... Thanks, Tori. If only Ryder could see this setup. He tried so hard, but you can't just throw a few subjects around and expect a cohesive style or theme. But he had an eye for shadows. And an eye for a whole lot more, as his elite family will find out...along with Arcadia Bay.

Jefferson positions Tori's head.

Jefferson: Nice... Good... Oh, those eyes...

Jefferson positions Tori's shoulder again.

Jefferson: It's just too bad you're so goddamn nosy, Tori! But, this room...is under 24/7 surveillance, so all I had to do was text you from Ryder's phone, and you fell right into my hands. You really should have focused on schoolwork, not "private detecting" with your little...friend.

Tori: Jade...

Jefferson: Jade, right. Yeah, I'm sorry I killed—that Ryder killed her in self-defense. But she had a troubled history like most Arcadia Bay dropouts. Nobody will be surprised...or care. Though I promise...people will care when you die tonight, Tori. I wasn't lying when I said you have a gift.

Jefferson crouches to take photos.

Jefferson: Okay... Now, this looks good. Maybe a few more close-ups...

Tori moves her head, and Jefferson stands up again.

Jefferson: Tori, please do not move so much. I need you posed and framed my way! Maybe a new dose will calm you down...

Tori: No, no... No...

Tori whimpers and struggles as Jefferson drags the trolley over.

Jefferson: [fills the syringe with drugs from a vial] Now don't move, or this will...hurt...much.

Tori kicks the trolley away and the vials of drugs fall, one breaking and spilling liquid over a folder.

Jefferson: (shouting angrily) Stupid bitch! You just don't listen, do you? (threateningly) In fact, you never did hear much in my class; if you had, you might have seen all this coming.

Jefferson crouches down next to Tori.

Jefferson: (admiringly) Goddamn, you are a fighter, though. I've had my eye on you, and I have noticed that you've been more...fearless this week than maybe your whole life.

Tori struggles and shakes her head.

Tori: (mumbling quietly) No...

Jefferson: Remember my number one rule. Always...take...the shot.

Jefferson injects the needle into Tori. She struggles and cries out, then goes limp as she falls unconscious.

Tori: (thinking) Oh, Jesus... I can't believe that happened. So sick.
Tori: (thinking) He drugged me for his fucked up binders...just to take photos... I could try another photo... It makes me sick just thinking about him...

Tori looks at another photo of herself on the trolley.

Tori: (thinking) Whoa... I—I'm definitely more awake in this photo... I could try this one.

Tori focuses on the photo.

Second Focus

Jefferson: (during the focus) So wise yet so innocent...

Tori is still tied up in her chair while Jefferson takes photos of her from behind a camera mounted on a tripod.

Jefferson: I'm getting some spectacular images here, Tori. Yes, Victoria would kill to be in your place, but...she doesn't understand our...connection. You're the winner, Tori. I choose you...your portrait.

Tori: Fuck you.

Jefferson: You're trying too hard. I know you're scared... You all have the same doe-eyed look when you wake up here. Replaced by fear as you realize what's about to happen.

Tori: Mr. Jefferson, why are you doing this?

Jefferson steps away from the tripod and approaches Tori.

Jefferson: Oh, Tori... I'm so glad you asked that question. Simply put, I'm obsessed with the idea of capturing that moment innocence evolves into corruption. That shift from black, to white, to grey, and beyond... Most models are cynical. They...lose that naiveté. However, some Blackwell students carry their hope and...optimism with them like...an aura. And those lucky few become my models...my subjects.

Tori: Yes, you're a psychopath. And this is your last session.

Jefferson: Au contraire, Tori. I'm so sane, that nobody knows what's happening to you right now.

Tori: (angrily) You killed Jade! You killed the love of my life!.

Jefferson: She had a loaded weapon. This was clearly self-defense; but that's what happens when you play with guns...or try to fuck with me. It's better when they don't know...like pure...sweet...Kate.

Tori: Kate believed, and she survived. You failed to break her. She's stronger than ever. And she'll outlive you.

Jefferson: She'll certainly outlive you. [chuckles] Who knows? Maybe I'll pay Kate a visit soon and test her faith again...

Tori: (angrily) You will not get away with this. I want you to know that.

Jefferson: Too bad you already made a convincing argument against Ryder in the Principal's office. Thank you so much for setting him up for me.

Jefferson: I do know that the Daniels are going to have a major scandal when the town finds out what their elite son has been doing for homework...

Tori: You used Ryder.

Jefferson: I prefer the term "manipulated." Like with an image... Ryder's was easy to twist around.

Jefferson: I became a sort of...father figure for Ryder. It happens often in teacher/student relationships. It was kind of...touching, for a while.

Tori: Did you tell him everything about your plans at Blackwell?

Jefferson: Don't be stupid, Tori. I told him what he needed to hear. In return, I had access...to the Daniel fortune; who do you think paid for this glorious dark room and equipment? How else could I get all these hip, new drugs for my subjects?

Tori: Emma Reese was your victim, not your "subject".

Jefferson: Oh...Emma Reese... Hmmm. That's the real tragedy. Ryder thought he could be an artist like me...instead, the dumbass gave her an overdose.

Tori: Jade and Emma...you killed both of them!

Jefferson: They're fucking together in heaven right now. Is that what you wanna hear?

Tori: Why? Why?!

Jefferson: (mockingly) "Why? Why?" Start listening to me, you dumb dyke! …

Jefferson chuckles
Jefferson: I'm sorry, Tori. That was not cool.

Jefferson: Anyway, Emma is dead. But no tears, Los Angeles would've killed her anyway, so, look at this as a favor.

Tori: You're evil.
Jefferson: Oh, I see... You and your friends almost beat Ryder to death. You see, we're not so different.

Tori: Yes, yes we are.

Tori: I cared more about Ryder than you did.

Jefferson: (angrily) No! You didn't. It's just too bad he fell in lust with Emma; he actually thought he could mimic what I do with a camera and subject; like father, but not like son.

Tori: Where is Ryder now?

Jefferson: Dead and buried. After what he did to Emma, I knew I couldn't keep him as a protégé for much longer. Now the police will never find his body... Do you finally get it now, Tori? I can't compromise my vision with amateurs.

Tori: You are an amateur. Look at the trail of death you've left behind. You can't blame all this on Ryder! I don't care what you do to me. You're gonna die, motherfucker! For Jade, and Emma, and everybody else!

Jefferson: I do love your spirit, Tori, but you brought yourself here, by your own choice. Anyway, I like my models to be seen and not heard...so I have to make sure...there's nothing left behind...of you.

Jefferson goes over to the camera tripod.

Jefferson: Okay. Now, let's see how these shots came out. I can see why your instant camera is so appealing. You don't need a computer to print your work out.

Jefferson goes to the back of the Dark Room to work on the photos.
Tori: (thinking) If I talk to him... distract him... maybe he'll give up a photo.
Tori looks at her journal in the corner.

Tori: (thinking) I have all those photos in my diary... This could be a way out.

Tori rewinds and speaks to Jefferson as he turns to leave.

Tori: Wait! Please, Mr. Jefferson...

Jefferson: Tori... I would love to talk shop, but I really need to go over these pictures. Especially while they're fresh in my mind... I think our session...was a career high for me...

Tori: You...you still have my diary.

Jefferson: Don't worry...nobody's going to read it. Thanks for reminding me.

Jefferson approaches Tori's journal and picks it up.

Jefferson: There's nothing more innocent than a teenager's diary. Oh...look at your selfies. What a waste of talent.

Jefferson throws Tori's journal to the floor and it opens to a page with a selfie of Tori in the photography classroom.

Jefferson: Look at that shot, Tori... You can do so much better.

Jefferson walks away, turns on the stereo, and returns to looking at his photos of Tori. Tori looks down at her diary and focuses on her selfie.

Tori finds herself in the classroom again where it all began.

Jefferson: I could frame any one of you in a dark corner, and capture you in a moment of desperation. Sh, sh, sh….

Tori: (thinking) I'm back... Right back where I started this insane week... And nobody is going to hurt Jade ever again...
Jefferson: I believe Tori has taken what you kids call a "selfie". A dumb word (in background as Tori thinks to herself) for a wonderful photographic tradition. And Tori...has a gift. Of course as you all know...
Tori: Who cares? This class is hella bullshit.
Jefferson: Uh... [chuckles awkwardly] I guess somebody hasn't had their coffee...
The school bell rings and the students begin collecting their things and leaving the room.
Jefferson: And, guys, don't forget the deadline to submit a photo in the "Everyday Heroes" contest. I'll fly out...

Tori: (thinking) Time to change time...

Jefferson: ...with the winner to San Francisco where you'll be feted by the (in background as Tori thinks to herself) art world. It's great exposure and it can kickstart a career in photography. So...

Tori: (thinking) First, let's make it real easy to capture Mark Jefferson.

Jefferson: ...Stella and Alyssa, get it together. Taylor, don't hide, I'm still waiting for your entry too. And, yes, Tori, I see you pretending not to see me.

Tori: (thinking) Bastard. I have to warn David about Jefferson and the Dark Room.

Tori searches her bag and finds a pamphlet for Blackwell.

Tori: (thinking) I should be able to track down David's number from the school pamphlet.

Tori flips through the pages until she finds David's number.

Tori: (thinking) Found you!

Tori takes out her phone to text David.

Tori: (thinking) For once, David...I'm praying you'll overreact to this as much as everything else...and take Jefferson down fast.

Tori (SMS): Mr. Madsen. You're after Emma Reese. Mark Jefferson is guilty. His Dark Room is under the Daniels' farmhouse. You know the location. He's sick and dangerous. Stop him.

Tori deletes her message after sending it and puts her phone in her pocket.

Tori: (thinking) You wanted me to enter the contest, asshole.

Tori grabs her bag and gets up from her seat.

Tori: (thinking) So maybe I'll be going to San Francisco. And, Jefferson...you'll be going to prison.

Tori's nose starts bleeding and she wipes the blood away.

Tori: (thinking) The past within the past... [sighs] Am I pushing myself too hard? Whatever. I don't care. I will do whatever it takes to save Jade's life.
Tori approaches Kate and Kate looks up at her.

Tori: Hi, Kate...

Kate: Oh... Hey, Tori.

Tori: Kate, listen to me...

Kate: I am.

Tori: Always remember that you're not alone. I've got your back, no matter what happens. So do a lot of other people. We all care. We're all here for you. You need to know that.

Kate: Tori... That makes me feel so blessed for the first time this week... I...I don't know what to say...

Tori: That's okay, neither do I. Maybe we could both use a hug.

Kate gets up and she and Tori hug.

Kate: Thanks. You always know the right thing to do.

Kate returns to her desk.

Tori: Mr. Jefferson? We need to talk.

Jefferson: Uh—

Tori: Here's my photograph for the "Everyday Heroes" contest.

Jefferson: Oh, uh... That was easy.

Tori: No... It wasn't easy at all.

Jefferson: Well, I, uh... I—I can't pre-judge yet, but I'm very...happy you decided to enter. That means a lot to me...and Blackwell. The—the first step for any artist is to put themselves out there, in the world, without fear. To be...innocent.

Tori: Or guilty.

Jefferson: Uh... [chuckles awkwardly] Well... Thanks...for the photo. Maybe both of us will be jet-setting to San Francisco this Friday.

Tori: Or maybe only one of us will be going.

Jefferson: Don't be so modest, Tori. Anything can happen in a week...

Tori: As you're going to find out, Mr. Jefferson.

Jade and Tori walking on the train tracks replaced by several cops investigating the Dark Room, Kate crying in the hallway replaced by Kate and the principal watching Jefferson being arrested, Kate on the roof replaced by the police discovering Emma's body, Tori with Jade after finding Emma's body replaced by Tori winning the contest, Jefferson killing Jade replaced by Jade helping Tori pack for San Francisco, and Jefferson taking pictures of Tori replaced by Tori getting into a taxi to go the airport.
