Long Overdue
After spending so many years apart, Chloe Decker was finally reunited with her soulmate, Lucifer Morningstar.
Even though they couldn't spend a life together because they needed to fulfil an important promise to their daughter, Rory, Chloe still loved the life she lived and never regretted the decisions she made or the relationships she had with her daughters, her friends and of course, her job as lieutenant to the LAPD.
But now… after completing her life on Earth, Chloe and Lucifer were now free to spend the rest of eternity together in Hell as partners once again. Helping lost souls find redemption and free them from their eternal pain. It was a great benefit to the both of them because they get to help countless souls in either Lucifer's exact replica of Linda's office or he and Chloe would enter different Hell-loops and create new adventures together. Much like they did with Jimmy Barnes.
Although their eternity was wondrous and fulfilling, Lucifer and Chloe still felt… somewhat incomplete about the current status of their relationship. Of course, they loved each other and enjoyed every moment together as a couple/partners. Yet somehow, they felt like… like something was missing. Luckily, they found their answer during one particular therapy session with another lost soul.
Their latest patient was a woman named Clare, who was sitting across from them in a wedding dress. Clare's Hell-loop was the day she left her groom at the alter and ran out on him in front of their entire family. As bad as it sounded, Chloe and Lucifer assured her that it was probably for the best. Because if Clare was truly certain of her feelings for the groom, then she wouldn't have ran-away in the first place. As a method to help her, Chloe used the story of how she almost married a man she never truly loved.
Chloe: At first, I wanted to be excited. You know, because I was engaged and I had a wedding to look forward to. But… I always knew it wasn't right. I mean, he wanted to me to plan the whole event in less than three weeks, even though we hardly knew each other, not to mention, I was in love with someone else and then I eventually discovered that he wasn't who I thought he was.
Lucifer: By that, she means, he was a notorious crime-boss/corrupted lieutenant/a cursed immortal who tried to kill us. Also, I'm that 'someone else' she was in love with. And still is.
Chloe: Yes. You see, this is exactly what I mean. Choosing not to marrying that other guy, was the best decision I ever made. And if you didn't love your groom either, then isn't that best for the both of you?
Clare: Yes. Yes, you're both so right. If I did go through with it, I would've been stuck in a loveless marriage. I mean, who would want that? Thank you. Thank you, so much.
Now free from her guilt, Chloe and Lucifer watched as Clare opened the door and instead of walking into the dark corridors of Hell, she walked into a bright light that would take her up to Heaven. Shortly after Clare's departure, Lucifer looked to Chloe with glee as he figured out, what it is he and Chloe have been missing.
Chloe: What is it?
Lucifer: I just realized something. Unlike Clare and her groom, we actually are in love. And if I could've… I would've spent a life with you. And It would've made me the luckiest Devil in the entire universe. And I know, it's far too late for that now, but… I still think it's time that we take the next step further in our relationship.
Within that moment, Lucifer stood before Chloe, held out her right hand, removed what was once Lilith's ring from her finger, got down on one knee and proposed…
Lucifer: Chloe Jane Decker… I know this is long overdue, but… would you consider spending the rest of eternity with me as Mrs. Chloe Morningstar?
The last time Lucifer was down on one knee, he proposed that she'd spend the rest of August 4th with him and their daughter and her exact response was, 'How could I say no to that?' Now… seeing him propose a real marriage to her, only gave Chloe one simple answer…
Chloe: Yes.
Lucifer: Yes?
Chloe: Yes! Yes, Of course, I'll will be your eternal wife, Lucifer Morningstar.
With that being her official answer, Lucifer joyfully rose up, placed the ring on Chloe's left finger before kissing her passionately and giving a twirl hug. As they were now officially declaring their engagement!
Best of all, they weren't planning to elope or get married in Hell or even on Earth. They were going to plan a real wedding in the one place where they could express their love and be reunited with those who have always loved and supported them and will be more than overjoyed for such a joyous occasion… Heaven.
Since Lucifer is no longer banished from the Silver-City and Chloe's a free soul, they can arrive and department from Heaven at any given moment. Chloe would just need a little assistance from an Angel.
To be continued…
What do you think? Sorry for the short story but this is only the beginning. A Deckerstar wedding in Heaven surrounded by everyone they knew and cared about. If you like, please comment.
