Chapter 42
Kate and Russell had had a long day. Kate, for all her planning, had forgotten to take something very major into account. She didn't account for the nausea or the exhaustion that had come with pregnancy. Although it was a short flight, Kate had gotten sick twice on the flight. She picked up their hired ute and realized Russell would need to drive, even though he wasn't familiar with the area like she was.
"Don't worry about it, Honey. I have the pub's address in the gps on my phone. We'll be fine. Please take this time for a little nap. I'll wake you up if I get lost. You are going to run yourself ragged if you don't give yourself enough rest," urged Russell.
The truth is that, as much as Kate hated to admit it, she was exhausted and the idea of a two hour nap while they drove to Gungellan sounded perfect.
"Okay. but please wake me up if you get at all confused. It can be a tough drive in the dark." replied Kate.
Russell started the ute and the gps app on his phone and pulled onto the road. Kate was asleep in under three minutes.
