B/"Now do you see, Jacob?" Meanwhile, Carlisle waited for Sam to arrive at the house.

E/I stayed at her bedside, wiping away the sweat, holding her warm hand. I don't want her hands or her to ever lose this warmth.

B/He kissed my slowly on the lips then touched his forehead to mine. "I love you," I felt tears well up in my eyes. "I love you..." ~ "This is nice," I said as we floated there. "Yeah, we should do this more often." I giggled at that. "Time for bed for the human." He jumped out of the pool-like bath, water falling off us loudly, and covered me in a fluffy white towel that absorbed the scent of roses.

The Underground Chapter Eleven

Jacob was back home after nightfall, after meeting the 'Cullens'. He phased back to his human form, and stumbled inside naked.

It...can't...be... Bella Swan was with a vampire?

He punched the wall next to him. No! He must have tricked her, that bastard! No girl would follow a monster like that! No girl would love a monster-!...Where are you? Why haven't you called for help?

Memories of his childhood with her flashed before his eyes, the warm sun shinning on them as they played on the beach of La Push. Wherever you are, I hope you're safe...

Later that morning, Sam went to the Cullen's house to talk about the other vampires that apparently existed. Carlisle explained that the Volturi were the oldest vampire coven in existence, royalty in the vampire world, who enforce laws to keep the existence of vampires a secret, though they chose not to live a 'vegetarian' lifestyle like the Cullens. Any breach of the laws resulted in execution, and it was always bad when they came to 'visit'.

"They know nothing about werewolves, so the Quileutes should be safe." Carlisle assured him, seeing his tense posture.

"You believe so?" Sam asked. Carlisle nodded.

"I know, because I lived with them for a period of time nearly three hundred years ago, and witnessed enough killing for many lifetimes."

"Three hundred years..." Sam echoed.

"I left when I knew I couldn't change their minds about their 'diet'. I moved to America and...formed my family." Carlisle continued.

"Did you turn them all?"

"Only Edward, Esme, Rosalie and Emmett who were at death's door. I was...lonely. I was selfish, but I was desperate for companionship, for family. But I also pitied them. I believed they deserved to live and were just dealt a bad hand. Alice found Jasper, and then us years later. We've lived together ever since, moving around constantly so no one noticed we didn't age."

"I see..." They sat in silence for a moment. "After...Edward is killed, will the Volturi come here?" Sam asked.

"Not unless they caught wind of it, but if we punished him, I don't see why they would unless it was to confirm it." Carlisle answered.

"Then...it would be best if you and your-family, left."

Carlisle nodded. "I think so too. It's time, in any case."

"I can see it hurts you. I can see why Ephraim trusted you back then, now I do too. The treaty is still intact for you and the remainder of your family."

Carlisle smiled and sighed in relief. Even though he was dead, still he held his breath during this troubling time.

"Thank you, thank you so much."

They shook hands, sealing their trust.

Bella's POV

I was lethargic and sickly for a while, but it wasn't too bad with Edward helping me. The furniture was delivered and set up by the delivery men under the direction of Amanda, the interior designer. She had no idea who I was when she met me, so she was all smiles especially after seeing I was nothing special...

"And you are...?"

"Mrs. Darci." I answered, and shook her hand...

Well. Edward did say we were a couple to everyone else. I'd love to marry him.

"Come on, I want you to see it!" Edward said and pulled me by the hand. After a few blinks, he set me down in the center of the dance floor.

"Whoa..." I could only dream to be in a place like this before.

"It's amazing!" I told him.

A platform was built around the perimeter of the dance floor to seperate it from the liesure couches, DJ corner, and sofa that sat in the shadow of the indent in the far wall from which Edward would watch over everything. The floor and walls were completely black. And the upstairs was done up with the pallette we've chosen, gold, red, black and white. The studio was sectioned off with a gold rose divider, one side being the seating area with the wall covered in black rococo wallpaper, and the other, under the skylight, was the white foyer. The place was completely changed in a day. And soon, we were up and running in no time at all.

We spent a week marketing our grand opening which gave us time to hire security, bartenders and a phlebotomist. The final touches were added, a blood bank in the basement for donations, a supply of winged needle sets to draw blood and other medical supplies. The plan was to run small blood drives in exchange for a free-drinks voucher for another night and free food after donations. Edward didn't need a lot, and he would also collect blood from animals to give himself a break from it. I pitied him. I knew he was sad about breaking his diet, but I hoped he got over it soon so he didn't hurt for long. So long as the blood wasn't collected as a result of crime, it wasn't a crime to drink human blood... I'm sure.

"You know to stay by my side throughout the night," Edward reminded me that night in bed.

"Where else would I be?" I said into his chest. He stroked my hair and kissed my head. Heaven couldn't match the serenity and security I felt sitting in his arms.

"Do you have the slighest idea of how much I love you?" He said lowly. I trembled slightly.

"No. But I hope it's just as much as how I do." I said, clutching him tightly. "Desperately, as if the world could end tomorrow." He pulled me away and wiped away the tears on my cheeks. I didn't know I was crying.

"Bella..."

"I don't think you kidnapped me...I think you saved me from a life that was slowly killing me." I told him.

"That's my line." He almost crushed me in his embrace.

Loneliness, a quiet killer, ate away at me all my life. No friends, too much responsibility than I could handle...I was too numb to notice it. And now I wasn't alone, and had someone who understood that pain.

Charlie...don't be sad for me, don't find me...

Thank you Frogman27 for following. Forgive my tardiness, my medicine makes it hard to focus, and let me know if the Jacob part was obviously omnipresent or confusing. I hope you enjoy it, I enjoyed writing it.
